Bupa reports that there has been a 83% increase in searches online re- Gut Health. Here’s why.

Prioritising your gut health is increasingly popular- this includes your digestive system and your gut microbe make up. It has become increasingly known that the state of your gut health impacts your overall health and mental wellness.

Your mental health can impact the Gut -Brain Axis. So, when you are about to embark on a new dietary regime, make sure you do it slowly to make time for your gut to adjust.

BECOMING MORE ECO-FRIENDLY

Searches for eco and climate change anxiety have increased by over 400%. Eco and Climate anxiety is growing and it’s a world- wide phenomena. Millions are feeling the same. Advice is to take notice of your feelings and take positive action steps to support your wellbeing, and make a difference on the planet Bupa says.

Make small eco - friendly changes to your lifestyle such as buying local and seasonal produce. Reduce your food wastage by planning in advance.

Searches for boosting the immune system increased by 80%. Huge increases have been noted in searches for immune health especially since the Corona virus has highlighted its importance.

A strong immune system can help to combat such viral attacks, and while it isn’t something you can do overnight,

preparing your body and mind before and event can help, such as taking high dose Vitamin D and boosting your sleep habits before the onset of winter.

INCORPORATING MINDFULNESS INTO YOUR DAILY HABITS

Research shows that incorporating mindfulness into your daily exercise routine greatly improves wellbeing, lowering your risk of depression and boosting your endurance levels.

When you include regular exercise, meditation and gratitude into your routines, they improve your overall stress, boost your mood, and reduce anxiety, due to the release of serotonin the feel-good chemicals.

Searches increased by 87%. Another trend is tracking your fitness and stress levels on apps that can track your cortisol levels in the body. Relaxation techniques are known to help, and making meditation, yoga or physical exercise a regular part of your routine can keep your mood up.

Searches have increased by 127% for information on this topic. Many people found they increased their alcohol consumption during the Covid outbreak. Mindful drinking means being aware of your consumption, and the reasons why and staying within healthy limits. Knowing the reason why, and considering the amount can help you build a better relationship with alcohol.

STARTING A MOOD DIARY

Searches increased by 83%. Keeping a mood journal can significantly improve your wellbeing. Writing down your emotions has been shown to reduce your feelings of anxiety and depression, especially if coupled with having space to record your daily gratitude.

Whether building a new house or renovating your home, it’s important to select quality materials which are durable, easy to clean and maintain, can withstand daily wear and tear and are not only still affordable, but much more hygienic than natural materials. This luxury looking material is taking the spotlight when it comes to high-end home interiors.

Porcelain is a type of ceramic made from refined clay, which is then baked at high temperatures making it hardwearing. It is a very diverse material which can be made to look like marble, granite, slate, hardwoods, limestone or other natural materials. While many might still lean towards using marble in their kitchen, dining and floors, the benefit of using porcelain far outweighs that of marble. Marble is a more porous material making it easier to absorb stains and bacteria, making it less resistant to wear and tear and less hygienic.

In the UAE, we have seen marble and natural stone-looking porcelain as the top trends in both residential and commercial designs. These chic surfaces can be styled any way to give an elegant, high-end and clean appearance. The large-format, full-body, Italian, porcelain slabs with varying thickness, allow the porcelain brands offered at Casamia to be installed in various design applications. Porcelain is an extremely hard surface that isn’t prone to the etching, staining and other damage that daily household life can inflict on natural marble, however, it can be manufactured with comparable beauty, thanks to ink jet production technologies. Unlike marble or granite, each porcelain slab is uniform. If you’re opting for a marble look – which is one of the most popular porcelain styles in use for both kitchens and bathrooms right now – you’ll be able to continue a vein across a wide wall or cabinet bank with book matched slabs for a traditional upscale look.

When selecting porcelain for different areas of your house, something to be aware of is its PEI hardness rating—the Porcelain Enamel Institute rating, which indicates how hard the material is. For high traffic areas like kitchen- and living room floors or hotel lobbies it is better to consider porcelain with a PEI of four or five. Four countertops a PEI ranking of three or four is sufficient, and a PEI rating of one or two for walls.

HYGIENE

Viruses rely on moisture to remain alive and active. Because porcelain is inorganic, impervious and water resistant, viruses are not able to survive on a porcelain surface. Awareness of this information, coupled with its versatility and beauty, has made porcelain the top choice for high-end finishes this year. It is now referred to as one of, if not, the top material choice to be incorporated into post-pandemic interior design projects.

Some manufacturers have gone the extra mile when it comes to hygiene, in response to customer demand. UNPATCHED DNS VULNERABILITY AFFECTS MANY IOT PRODUCTS

Last week, Nozomi Networks released an advisory (tracked as CVE-202230295) detailing a vulnerability in the DNS component of uClibc library used in many IoT products. The vulnerability also extends to all versions of the uClibcng library—specifically forked to support the popular OpenWRT router operating system used in home networks and across various critical infrastructure sectors.

The uClibc library is used by major vendors

including Linksys, Netgear, Axis, and in Linux distributions including Embedded Gentoo. The exploitable vulnerability lies in the uClibc library’s implementation of predictable transaction IDs which allows an attacker to send a ‘poisoned’ response to the device. Assuming source ports are random, the attacker now needs to flood the device with poisoned DNS ‘responses’ using every possible source port—and do so before the legitimate DNS response is received.

Yay! Another as-yet-unpatched vulnerability. What’s the impact? An attacker can exploit the vulnerability to conduct DNS poisoning or DNS spoofing (in certain circumstances) to redirect the victim (router/embedded device) to a malicious domain under the attacker’s control rather than the legitimate domain infrastructure. DNS cache poisoning has been both a widely known attack and an attack enabler since the ‘90s. So what is DNS cache poisoning?

When a computer or other device requests the IP address for intra/internet destinations from a DNS server, the resolved address is stored in short term cache memory to speed up subsequent queries for the same destination. For instance, suppose you’re the first person in your office out of 100 employees on Monday morning. You grab your morning go-juice of choice, fire up your computer, and check Google for the where you can get the best price on something you saw over the weekend.

Your computer requests the upstream DNS servers to provide the current IP address for Google, and subsequently, whatever website you click on. Now, imagine every employee does the same thing X 100. Your computer and the DNS server/router store the resultant information in local memory so that when your coworkers also search Google for [whatever], the network already has the answer rather than 100 requests to the internet for the same IP address. Network optimization at its finest.

However, when this vulnerability is exploited, that locally cached answer for any/all domains can be ‘poisoned’ such that a request for Google’s IP address (or any internet destination) could in fact be overwritten to point to a malicious domain. But wouldn’t you know immediately? As a user, not necessarily. Malicious domains can be set up to deliver additional malware via browser exploits that give them more access to your network, or they can conduct manin-the-middle attacks to intercept all your internet traffic.

While attackers may not be interested in your shopping habits, imagine if you were visiting your financial institution to make sure you have enough money to buy that designer coffee table you found. They could intercept your login credentials and steal your money.

While the potential impact is difficult to assess, whether it be to the individual or to the organization, one thing is certain: we want to keep unauthorized threat actors out of our networks. Given the state of many organizational networks, the common use of enterprise-grade DNS servers leveraging DNSSEC would render this attack vector largely ineffective.

However, many home networks that utilize SOHO retail router access points are not as robust, which makes this vulnerability more impactful. Home networks are very susceptible to a litany of attacks, and for the work-from-anywhere (WFA) employee, this introduces additional risks to organizational systems operating on these home networks. Enterprise managers need to ensure they’re leveraging an organizationally configured protective DNS solution and logging DNS queries/responses from WFA devices.

In summary, the technique is not new and is relatively easy to thwart: implement DNSSEC on enterprise DNS servers and leverage a protective DNS solution to stop resolution to malicious domains.

At VeeamON 2022, Veeam is also releasing the findings of its inaugural Ransomware Report. An independent survey of more than 1,000 IT leaders, who had suffered cyber-attacks, revealed that on average, 47% of an organization’s data is encrypted and only 69% of that data was recoverable.

Just as alarming, the survey showed that paying the ransom does not assure recoverability, with 94% of attackers attempting to destroy the backup repositories as part of the attack and over half of companies admitted that their cybersecurity protocols require a complete overhaul or significant improvement to protect against growing threats. In 2021, only 19% of organizations were able to recover their data without paying the ransom; Veeam’s focus is helping the other 81% of global organizations make that same claim moving forward.

Manchester has become a common destination for our trips to UK recently as our child goes to university an hour away from this bustling city. It is full of surprises with a diverse range of retail offering, a cutting-edge music scene, historic sites and of course world-class football games.

Architecture in this city is impressive from old buildings to modern skyscrapers. During one of my work trips to the city, we spent some time at the iconic British Muslim Heritage Centre housed in a beautiful UNESCO protected building. The City Council, the cathedrals, The Urbis Building, John Rylands Library, The Lowry and of course the Etihad Stadium which are all very impressive.

The city has some of the best cafes and restaurants that suits everyone and for culture, it is perfect for music and art lovers. The Northern Quarter remains a hub of alternative and street culture while murals and street art pieces around the city are abundant.

For food, I enjoyed the Hard Rock Cafe for both eating and for the wide selection of merchandise. The Opera House is also a must visit and so is the Castlefield Bowl for pop and classical concerts.

For retail therapy, there are a lot of options and shopping malls are abundant. We love the Affleck’s Palace which is an independent shopping emporium where you can find so many interesting goods.

For a day out, a city bus tour or going on a river cruise is a great way to see the old monuments and sights of Manchester. Football fans would love a tour of the Old Trafford to explore the Manchester United Museum and Stadium.

Other noteworthy attractions include the Legoland Discovery Centre or the SEA LIFE Manchester that is home to over 2,000 marine species. For families, we recommend the Science and Industry Museum, Manchester Museum, the Transport Museum, Manchester Art Gallery, The Whitworth Art gallery and the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art in Chinatown.

If the weather is good, head to Heaton Park or see some colourful blooms at Fletcher Moss Botanical Garden. There are a lot streets that are great for walking and enjoying the cafe culture of the city.

Manchester is indeed a vibrant and multicultural destination with a lot of things to see and do. The best way to explore the city is to get a local tour guide to tailor make your itinerary according to your preferences and enjoy the delicious cuisine along the way.

Every time we go to our Spanish home, we try and explore a different city and Barcelona, the second-largest art infused city in Spain has been a delight for all senses including visiting cultural sites, city attractions, art venues, trying out Catalan dishes and evening tapas experiences as well as taking a cruise ship that saw us visiting a number of nearby countries.

It is a city steeped in history with so much to see, especially in the Gothic Quarter which is the oldest neighborhood of Barcelona. Here you will find medieval structures, Gaudi’s architecture from the 19th and 20th centuries, winding alleys, the Cathedral of Barcelona, plazas and Roman ruins.

After a week on a cruise ship, we spent a lot of time in Las Ramblas, a pedestrian only street lined with cafes with the best tapas and drinks, shops and a bustling vibe. We also went to La Boqueria nearby which had some beautiful Spanish gift items and then stopped at Placa Reial, a beautiful square perfect for people watching.

One late afternoon we drove to El Born which is the most trendy and artistic part of the city and explored a few avantgarde galleries, indulged in vintage shops and took a stroll with our daughter who loved the idea of sampling little plates of dishes at tapas outlets. Our favourite dishes were laced with olive oil and include seafood dishes, fried potatoes and Spanish omelettes stuffed in baguettes.

Spain is famous for their its tapas that are meant to be snacked on but we ordered a wide range of dishes and made a meal out of it. Seafood paella in Barcelona is an absolute must try dish and so is seafood done in different styles. I always enjoyed the cold sweet Spanish coffees that seemed to inject life and energy into me in between the tours.

After fuelling up on food and drinks, head to L’Eixample for some famous architectural highlights such as the La Sagrada Familia and to El Raval which has some interesting boutiques and restaurants. We were on a trail to see Gaudi's work so we explored the area of

Gaudi is Barcelona’s most famous architect whose Gothic and Art Nouveau styles made him legendary around the world. We especially loved Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, and Casa Milà.

If you are into art, head to the Picasso museum to learn about the life of one of the most influential artists in the 20th century. There are over 3,000 pieces of art and one of the biggest Picasso museums in the world.

If you have a lot of time, head to Barcelona History Museum. There are 4,000 square meters of Roman ruins located beneath the city that you can walk through and learn more with an audio guide explaining the mosaics, wall frescoes and ancient documents.

In addition to Barcelona city itself, we rented a car and drove up to Cadaques (near the border with France) to see Salvador Dali's house. This remains one of our best experiences, even though it took a full day to get there with multiple coffee stops, tapas breaks and winding roads, but it was well worth the journey. It is best to stay the night there, get rested, so that you can explore the many attractions on the way back to Barcelona.

Barcelona is one of those cities which you can easily spend weeks exploring. It is a beautiful city with impressive architecture, charming medieval streets, amazing beaches. In fact, it has something for everyone.

Johannesburg as a tourist destination has much to offer and should certainly be on the itinerary of any visitor to South Africa because of the vibrant culture and many interesting local attractions.

My first visit to Johannesburg was on the way to a game farm out of the city and looking at the diverse neighbourhood, the laid back vibe and the cafe culture was what attracted me most.

A few more trips later, I discovered that the city had so much more to offer visitors than what we see just cruising around in a car.

With numerous cafes and hipsterfriendly neighbourhood, Johannesburg is indeed the vibrant heart of South Africa.

Progressive and energetic, the city has a number of museums and we highly recommend the Apartheid Museum that offers deep insight into South Africa's past.

What I liked most is the large manmade forest that gives this nature driven city a spacious feel. There is also a thriving arts and music scene with lots of entertainment and food options that suit all types of visitors.

If you have good fitness levels, follow the Rustenberg Hiking Trail for a couple of days - naturally this was not for me.

It is also common to go on a safari at national parks or visit a game farm while in Johannesburg. On my first visit, I spent a few nights in the Serurubele Game farm and enjoyed trips out during the day to see the animals in the wild. Going on game drives and bush walks in a serene place is just magic.

Evenings were spent around the bonfire at a friend's game lodge. The best part about being in the wild is being able to enjoy the fresh local food and enjoy quality me time.

On another visit, I headed to the archeological sites of the Cradle of Humankind which was interesting and wished there was enough time to spend another day to explore the Sterkfontein Caves.

Most tourists just go to the Kruger National Park without exploring the country further. If you really do not have time to venture far, then the Johannesburg Zoo is a great attraction that also has night safaris to view the zoo's nocturnal animals.

Just outside the city, you can take a cable car straight up into the mountains. I suggest trying some contemporary South African cuisine while enjoying the day out driving, hiking or biking. If you think Tasha's in the UAE is amazing as a South African brand, then you will enjoy the many other creative food concepts dotted around Johannesburg.

If you love adrenaline driven activities, the Ama Zwing Zwing is perfect for a zipline experience not far from the city or head to the Kgaswane Mountain Reserve where you can camp overnight.

The metropolitan township of Soweto on the outskirts of Johannesburg. played a significant part in South Africa's history and has a number of historically significant sites.

Visitors here can view Nelson Mandela's old house, enjoy traditional fare in restaurants run by locals, go bungee jumping or abseiling while taking in the vibe of this special area.

Johannesburg has so much to offer in the city and nearby. This city may have a colourful past, but it has an even more exciting present.

A FEAST FOR YOUR SENSES

While looking for a place to celebrate my birthday in my neighborhood, this year we ventured to the the Mediterranean chic restaurant Yava in Wasl 51 across the road. Yava's magic has a lot to do with the charismatic Chef Olcay, the artist behind the culinary masterpieces that dazzle diners in terms of flavor, quality and presentation.

Every dish reflects the thought put into by the talented and multi-faceted culinary team at Yava. We tried some extraordinary dishes that showed that Chef Olcay is truly a master at the gastronomic arts and even the salads were delightful. We particularly appreciated the personal care taken by Basil Yassin, the mastermind behind the concept.

Yava is named after the port city of Yafa and it celebrates the shared history of 21 countries nestled by the Mediterranean Sea. The dishes seamlessly blend their

unique culinary influences in the broad selection of mezze, pasta, fatayer, signature mains and desserts.

The interior of Yava is sheer artistry, with the different elements, colors and patterns reflecting the character of each Mediterranean country.

What we loved for our dinner particularly was the baked feta cheese that came wrapped with crispy Kunafa and with natural honey on the side. The welcome bread and dips were particularly nice and as we love spices, the chilli dip and the oregano mixed with olive oil totally hit the spot.

For main course, we went for a truffle pasta dish which had the best aroma and tasted as good, delighting all the senses. The texture was perfect, so it looked good and tasted good. We have a weakness for sweet potatoes and the Chef

was most accommodating by sending us a bowl of sweet potato fries instead of mash potatoes to accompany the mouthwatering grilled lamb chops.

To celebrate my birthday, I decided to indulge in the chocolate fondant that came with a birthday message and was accompanied with ice cream. Service was impeccable right through our dining experience and the warm deco added a touch of authenticity to the venue.

Located at the fashionable and exciting Wasl 51, this exquisite Yava bursts with culinary delights and dishes that certainly capture the mood and beauty of the Mediterranean. And with an acclaimed culinary master such as Chef Olcay in command of its cuisine, Yava is set to please and delight even the most discerning guests.

Arada has reached a major milestone at Aljada with the completion of the first residential phase at the Sharjah megaproject. The delivery of 278 homes in the last two Misk Apartments buildings in the mixed-use community brings the total number of units finished at Aljada to 1,482.

The luxury Misk Apartments buildings contain a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury homes, as well as magnificent duplex four-bedroom penthouses at nearly 5,000 square feet in size.

The Goutte de Ciel bracelet from the Contemplation collection underlines the Maison’s incredible innovation. It features Aerogel – a rare material used by NASA that Claire used to recreate “a piece of the sky”, enclosed in a shell of rock crystal set with diamonds.

Also from the dreamy Contemplation collection is the Papillon necklace. Papillon,

meaning butterfly, symbolises softness and femininity, and is brought to life in this piece in rock crystal and diamonds, beautifully balanced. Another highlight piece is the Histoire de Style Art Déco Ganse Émeraudes bangle, a striking piece crafted from gold, rock crystal, diamonds and emeralds, that draws on an archival piece created in 1925 and pays homage to the Art Deco era.

These incredible High Jewellery creations amongst others were specially selected to present to discerning clientele with a great appreciation for jewellery and are showcased in Boucheron’s home at the event.

More recently at an exhibition, we saw a new side of creativity from Abdulrauf. His latest creation is not a painting, but rather a yellow garden hose and the hose's black

interior. He creates new art pieces using hose pipes by visualising, then walking back and forth to his piece and carving with blade until he is fully satisfied with his masterpiece.

The collection features iconic people of the world like portraits of H.H Sheikh Mohammed, H. H Sheikh Zayed, Gandhi, Nelson-Mandela, Charlie Chaplin, Michael Jackson, and other iconic world figures. Abdulrauf is the first artist to use hoses to create artworks with portraits.

Art has been part of Abdulrauf's life. In 1992, when he was nine years old, Abdulrauf entered a competition around the unification of Germany. He participated with a drawing of a big, cracked wall for which he received an award in Abu Dhabi.

Later on, at another competition for a logo for the World Tennis Club, he received first prize from around 10,000 entries and was awarded again by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, the president of Civil Aviation and Chief Executive and Chairman of Emirates group.

Abdulrauf's success followed with winning another competition for the Dubai Shopping Festival where he secured the ninth place in the UAE for designing greeting cards for Rivoli group.

At that stage, he was advised to join the Dubai International Arts Centre and his father took him there twice for art classes but eventually Abdul Rauf decided to work on his skill alone and stopped attending.

Abdul Rauf experimented with different media where he used pieces of plywood, placed them on the floor and then drew on them with charcoal. He drew inspiration from magazines and newspapers and the subject matter of his paintings at the time consisted of horses, Sheikhs, traditional coffee pots and local traditions and heritage buildings.

At the age of twenty-two, Abdul Rauf had a dream in which a woman collected sea

shells at the beach. That dream came to be an inspiration to try yet another medium and he started painting with oil paints, which added variety to his previous works in charcoal and pencil.

He also tried his hand at acrylic paint, to get a more vibrant colour mix, but it wasn’t his medium of choice, so he went back to using oil paints.

Abdulrauf draws images from his mind and his dreams. His art becomes his means of expression where he gets inspired by challenges in life which drive him to portray his emotions through his paintings.

The subject matter of his paintings is based on the traditions and symbols of the Emirati culture, portrayed through its distinct architectural heritage, its natural environment of palms, flowers and birds and the familiar day-to-day objects such as the traditional Emirati coffeepot.

As a proud citizen of the UAE, Abdulrauf produced a ‘3 Fingers’ artwork which denotes Win, Love and Victory and the fast development of Dubai inspired by the vision from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum that

has made Dubai successful on the world stage.

Abdulrauf's style is marked by simplifying the objects he sees; hence, they appear as pictograms, symbols or signs.

Of life, Abdul Rauf says: “You are born poor, but you have to die rich in your heart, confident in your work and your achievements. Use your inner power and mind and if you lose, carry on with another venture. God says: if you work hard, you will get it, but you need to work hard for it!”

Besenzoni, the Italian company headed by Giorgio Besenzoni will showcase its wide range of highly reliable products, starting with the new BeElectric series with the LaPasserella and IlSalpaAncora at the Venice Boat Show. Another key product was the PI 461 Miss, the most highly rated of the automatic telescopic gangways made by Besenzoni.

The Sarnico-based company will reveal its range of boating products, which have by now become synonymous with high quality and innovation as well as safety and reliability. On show will be two innovative, eco-friendly “gems” which have been produced by the recently created manufacturing division under the BeElectric brand.

This new range of components uses an extremely simple electric system and is designed to be stylish, technologically advanced and eco-friendly. The Venice Boat Show will showcase the flagship of the range, LaPasserella, which combines all of its key features: lightness, performance, a quiet operation and eco-friendliness. Ideal for the world of sailing, LaPasserella is also being used increasingly with motor yachts, where people are seeking more and more environmentally friendly solutions.

IlSalpaAncora will be exhibited alongside LaPasserella. This is the latest product in the electric series operating on 12/24 volts. There are currently two models, for anchors weighing either 15 or 25 kg, designed so that a 12/24vdc winch can be installed to operate the chain.

For this product too, the advantages of

using an electric system are apparent in various ways: it avoids using a hydraulic system, in other words one that uses oil which pollutes the environment, installation times are significantly reduced, the system is less noisy and it takes up less space in the engine room.

As regards the more classic production of the Sarnico-based company, at the show you will find the PI461 Miss, Miss by name and Miss by nature: it is indeed the most highly regarded external hydraulic gangway of our brand and in high demand on account of its lightness and performance.

It is operated hydraulically by using a remote control or wall-mounted control panel which makes it easy to lift/lower the tender from/into the water. The lifting capacity varies depending on the model and can go up to 200 kg depending on the tender crane and water toys.

Once the boat show is over, the Sarnicobased company will not stop here: its presence in Venice will be more competitive than ever. Besenzoni has in fact decided to participate in the 70th historic Pavia-Venice boat raid, as the main sponsor, of the Victory catamaran sailed by champions Giampaolo Montavoci and Kristian Ghedina.

This historic boating competition organised by the Associazione Motonautica in Venice and the Associazione Motonautica in Pavia under the auspices of the Federazione Italiana Motonautica will start on 5 June in Pavia and reach Brondolo-Chioggia-Venezia later the same day.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presents the next chapter of its Boat Tail coachbuilt commission, one of just three that have been, and ever will be made. The essence of Rolls-Royce Coachbuild is that each commission tells a story entirely unique and personal to its owner, reflecting their own history, tastes and sensibilities.

With this in mind, Boat Tail, revealed at Concorso d'Eleganza, Villa d'Este 2022, on the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy, is a masterwork of restraint, sophistication, elegance and attention to detail.

Boat Tail is entirely hand-built, with the body panels fashioned from vast, single sheets of aluminium to create the distinctive outline inspired by the racing yachts of the early 20th century. In every respect, this remarkable motor car is entirely unique.

has grown from his father's origins in the pearling industry. Widely travelled, internationally educated and cosmopolitan in his tastes and influences, the client is an established patron of the arts, who additionally owns a sizeable collection of classic and modern cars, housed in a dedicated private museum.

A level of sophistication, garnered from the client's extensive knowledge of luxury, is clearly visible in this coveted objet d'art. The overall design aesthetic is restrained; a study in carefully considered materials and precise details that together create a highly personal and emotionally resonant homage to the client’s father.

At the onset of the commissioning process, the client presented Rolls-Royce Coachbuild Designers with a selection of four pearl shells, personally chosen from his private collection for their unique colour and complexity. The shells provided inspiration

for the exterior colour, which is one of the most complex Bespoke finishes ever created by Rolls-Royce.

The foundation of the colour is a shimmering blend of oyster and soft rose, with large white and bronze mica flakes adding a unique pearlescent quality that changes subtly under different light conditions.

The contrasting cognac-coloured bonnet, created specifically for this Boat Tail, contains fine bronze and gold coloured aluminium mica flakes complete with a layer of crystal and iced matt clear coat, adding significant warmth and depth to the car's appearance. The technical fibre lower sills of Boat Tail incorporate a rose gold woven thread.

The rear deck, which houses Boat Tail's unique 'butterfly-design' hosting suite, is swathed in Royal Walnut veneer, inlaid with rose gold-plated pinstripes with a satin-brushed finish to ensure a sensitive and sophisticated appearance.

The Royal Walnut was specifically selected by the client for its beautiful properties as it matures over time, a material that will gradually transition to the tonal properties of the cognac colour.

From above, one observes a harmonious balance and satin effect of the iced bonnet and tactile wooden rear deck, in

contrast with the high-gloss front and side perspectives.

From the front, the Pantheon Grille, milled from a single, solid billet of aluminium, is graced with a Spirit of Ecstasy fashioned in rose gold.

The interior is a beautifully curated combination of perfectly matched cognac and oyster-coloured leathers and Royal Walnut veneer, with rose gold and mother-of-pearl accents throughout. The leathers, complete with a pearlescent finish, accentuate the surfaces and forms of Boat Tail's seats and interior design.

The transmission tunnel is formed

from Royal Walnut veneer with rose gold pinstripes, drawing a direct visual reference to the rear deck and adding a glowing warmth to Boat Tail's interior.

The centrepiece of the dashboard is a timepiece made from mother-of-pearl, chosen and supplied by the client from his own collection; the fascia of which is pure and minimal in its appearance so as not to detract from the precious material.

The same prised substance graces the control switches and instrument dials, creating a strong visual and material connection between the car, the owner, and his family heritage.

Turkish Airlines, flying to more countries than any other airline highlighted the use of sustainable aviation fuel and new destinations at the ATM 2022 including flights to Seattle. Visitors to the Turkish Airlines stand enjoyed a host of activities, including flight simulations to explore Istanbul attractions virtually.

The flag carrier highlighted sustainable aviation fuel prompted by the awareness of the effect the aviation sector has on climate change and hopes to help reduce the carbon footprint of its customers.

Sustainable aviation fuel reduces emissions by 87 percent and comes with high energy that helps reduce harmful particles of SOx and NOx emissions due to clean burn. It is produced from sustainable raw materials and devoid of harmful heavy metals.

Turkish Airlines sustainability initiatives will enable the carrier to further expand its route network and achieve a further growth in both passenger and cargo transport. The carrier has initiated over 100 operational optimization

projects since 2008 to lessen its carbon footprint and will continue to implement techniques to decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

THE MOST VALUABLE CAR IN THE WORLD THE 1955 MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SLR UHLENHAUT COUPÉ

In the most remarkable car auction ever conducted, RM Sotheby’s in association with Mercedes-Benz has sold one of the two famed 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupés to a private collector, and will donate the proceeds to establish a worldwide “Mercedes-Benz Fund” that will provide educational and research scholarships in the areas of environmental science and decarbonisation for young people

A 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé from 1955 has been sold at auction for a record price of 135,000,000 to a private collector. The car, which is one of two created in 1955, has always been regarded as one of the great jewels of motoring history, but few ever imagined that it would be offered for sale.

One of just two prototypes built by the Mercedes-Benz racing department, the car is named after its creator and chief engineer, Rudolf Uhlenhaut, and is considered to be one of the finest examples of automotive engineering and design, often cited as being ‘the most beautiful car in the world’ by automotive experts and enthusiasts worldwide. The remarkable 300 SLR was based on

the hugely successful W 196 R Grand Prix car which won two World Championships in the hands of Juan Manuel Fangio, but with its engine enlarged to 3.0 litres for sports car racing. The car was capable of 180 mph, making it one of the fastest road legal cars to have ever been created at the time.

The sale of the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé took place on May 5th at an auction held at the Mercedes¬Benz Museum in Stuttgart, with RM Sotheby’s working in close cooperation with Mercedes-Benz throughout the entire process to ensure the sale was concluded to the highest possible standard. Among the invitees were selected Mercedes customers and international collectors of cars and art who share the corporate values of Mercedes-Benz.

The winning bid on the car was an incredible 135,000,000, making it the most valuable car ever sold and a price which exceeds the existing record by more the 90,000,000.

In what felt like a surreal experience, the bidding opened at a price higher than the selling price of the 1962 Ferrari 250

GTO sold by RM Sotheby’s in 2018, the car which previously ranked as the most valuable ever sold at auction. The 300 SLR now sits in the top ten most valuable items ever sold at auction. The proceeds will be used to establish a worldwide “Mercedes-Benz Fund” that will provide educational and research scholarships in the areas of environmental science and decarbonisation for young people.

SKILLS THAT COUNT

There are certain skills that see you through any type of job you are in. Being able to manage your workload successfully and having the emotional intelligence that helps you become selfaware of your emotions, abilities and how adaptable you can be can go a long way.

Your emotional abilities, stress management skills, time management and conscientiousness can impact your career and being mindful is a trait that is not valued as much as it should be. Being fully present, aware and attentive to the current moment, without distraction helps one focus on the job at hand. My brain runs a mile a minute and personally I find this the hardest thing to do but I also see its benefits when I get even halfway focused on the job.

Most managers often look at the soft skills of their employees knowing that

these can be positive qualities that can make them better professionals and leaders. A lot of what we do is impacted by the way we organize yourselves, how we set goals, manage our time, selfmotivate, manage the challenges that come with the job.

What I value most is self learning. No matter how old you get and how many years of experience are behind you, there are always new lessons to be learnt and new skills we can develop by reading or doing courses.

As a business owner, my job can be stressful due to deadlines and as a publicist, it can get even more challenging as I do reputation management for some of the leading brands in the world. Remaining calm in the chaos during global events and keeping clients calm requires a lot of patience and stress management skills.

What helps is setting priorities for things that need to be done and assign or delegate to your employees what they can do. This also helps them develop skills that can be useful during the busy periods in your industry or company. At the end of the day, our productivity increases tenfold when we succeed in managing time and resources in a smart way.

Having self confidence, a quality that enables one to succeed, can always be developed in yourself by identifying what is holding you back and can help employees through mentoring and education.

Our self-awareness helps us identify our strengths and weaknesses and urges us to get out of our comfort zone. Developing skills that count, while enhancing productivity, will certainly help us stay motivated and engaged as well.
