SJ Awards and Graduation Night 2023 PART 1: AWARDS NIGHT The Seri Jubli International School's Multipurpose Hall was adorned with excitement and a sense of accomplishment on the evening of November 25th, 2023, as students, parents, teachers, and staff gathered to honour achievements and bid farewell to the graduating class at the Awards & Graduation Night 2023! The event was a spectacular showcase of the school's commitment to academic excellence, talent development, and the holistic growth of its students.

The evening commenced with a captivating Mini Exhibition, where the creativity and ingenuity of Seri Jubli students were on display. The welcome address was delivered by our esteemed principal, Tr. Paulus, setting the stage for an unforgettable night. The charismatic emcees – Jamie, Rui Yao, Lucas, and Reyneisha – skillfully guided the audience through the event's proceedings with enthusiasm and charm. The patriotic spirit filled the hall as Zynon took the stage to lead us in both the National Anthem and the Jubilee Anthem. The Executive Director, Mr. Lee Kok Hwee, then delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on the school's achievements and outlining its vision for the future.

The spotlight then shifted to the talents of Year 6, who presented a captivating performance through a video presentation and a song. This was followed by the prestigious Awards Presentation for Top Academic Excellence, a moment of recognition for outstanding scholastic achievements. Next, our youngest performers, Year 1, charmed the audience with their rendition of "One Little Finger."

This was followed by the presentation of the Remarkable Academic Progress Award, acknowledging students who demonstrated significant improvement in their academic journey.

The Drama Club took centre stage next, enchanting the audience with a riveting performance of "A Christmas Carol." The event then took a delightful turn with the Parent-Child Bazaar Awards presented, highlighting the importance of family involvement in a student's education.

Following this, the Excellent House Members Awards were presented to one member from each house, recognising students for their outstanding contributions to their respective houses.

Music enthusiasts were treated to a delightful Ukulele Performance, setting the stage for the highly anticipated moment— the presentation of the Student of the Year and House Champion Awards! In this edition, Lim Sheng Jie clinched the Student of the Year award for the Primary category, while Shia Jia Tong secured the title for Secondary.

Additionally, Aqua was crowned as the House Champion for this year!

PART 2: YEAR 6 & YEAR 11 GRADUATION CEREMONY The Parade of Graduates marked a poignant moment, with Year 6 and Year 11 students marching proudly, symbolising the culmination of their academic journey. During the Principal’s Speech, Tr. Paulus, in a touching and personal gesture, not only presented a heartfelt video but also took the stage to sing a song dedicated to the Y11 graduates. This added a unique and memorable element to the evening The night reached its pinnacle with the Graduation and Valedictorian Speeches. Lim Sheng Jie eloquently addressed the Year 6 graduating class, followed by Shia Jia Tong's inspiring words to the Year 11 graduates.

PAST EVENTS Deepavali Celebration The Deepavali celebration on November 8th was a resounding success! Primary students showcased their creativity in the Decoration Contest and engaged in exciting Station Games.

A thrilling game of Kabadi added to the excitement. Secondary students participated in traditional games and the 'Breaking the Pot' activity. The cultural extravaganza featured impressive solo and group dance performances, a glamorous Indian Fashion Catwalk by KS1 students, and more.

SJIS Chumbaka Showcase On November 7th, we hosted a remarkable showcase of talent and creativity. Students from Year 4 to Year 9 presented their masterpiece projects, concluding the Chumbaka ICT course.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as students shared their accomplishments with parents, friends, and family. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported our budding tech enthusiasts. Your encouragement means the world to us and the students.

Johor LEAD Convention 2023 The Johor LEAD Convention on November 18th brought together bright minds from Kelantan, Selangor, Melaka, and Johor.

The event featured booths with innovative projects, including the winning booth, Aqua’s Hands of Hope from SJIS. Other schools also presented outstanding projects. Stage presentations, Cancer Research MAD Projects, and awards added to the day's success. Special thanks to guests, judges, participants, and schools for making this event a success. Let's continue leading and making a positive difference!

Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC 2) On November 24th, we had our 2nd Parent-Teacher Conference for the year. This PTC facilitated valuable discussions on students' progress and development so that parents could gain insights into their child's strengths and areas for improvement, fostering a collaborative partnership with teachers. As we conclude, we appreciate parental involvement and look forward to continuing our collective efforts for the success and well-rounded development of every student at Seri Jubli International School.

SJ Costume Day and Gotong-Royong On November 27th, SJ Costume Day brought a burst of energy to the school as students and staff showcased their creativity through a dazzling array of costumes. The day featured a lively catwalk competition of all the classes, with Year 2V, Year 10S, and Year 9 emerging as the winning classes. The teachers added to the fun with a spirited performance of "Lemon Tree." Following the festivities, students enjoyed their class pot-luck parties. Later, everyone united to clean up the school, reinforcing a sense of community and responsibility.
