PAULUSLEE
As we reach the midpoint of our academic year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly vibrant and dynamic season for Seri Jubli. The energy pulsing through our school is undeniable—thanks to the commitment, creativity, and collaboration of our entire school community.
First, a heartfelt shout-out to our dedicated teachers for facilitating our very first Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC), and to all the parents who attended. From the feedback received, I’m glad to hear of the progress being recognised and celebrated in our students. Even more encouraging is the openness of parents in finding new ways to engage with us for the betterment of their children. Mid-year is always a valuable moment to regroup, review, and reposition ourselves in preparation for the second half of the year—and to finish strong.
We also successfully pulled off an unforgettable Zootopia Carnival Day—a celebration filled with joy, colour, and connection. It was a powerful combination of marketing, student engagement, and community spirit. It was truly inspiring to see students take initiative, collaborate with staff, and come alive in the spirit of the day. Events like these are more than just fun—they reflect the heartbeat of our learning culture: involvement, creativity, and purposeful action.
We're also thrilled to mark the launch of our Early Years Programme, in collaboration with GreenHouse. This partnership adds a fresh dimension to our school and we look forward to the growth it will bring.
In addition, we continue to celebrate our students’ global exposure and growth, which has increased significantly since 2022. This year, we are proud to send a team of 12 students to Bangkok, Thailand for the World Scholar’s Cup Global Rounds—thank you for representing us with
excellence. We are also sending 17 students to Handong Global University, South Korea, for the Handong Leadership Camp for the fifth time. These international exposures are more than just trips—they are platforms for student ownership, cross-cultural learning, and leadership development.
As we look ahead to the second half of the year, I find myself reflecting on the theme of our recent carnival—Zootopia— and its anthem, Try Everything, which reminds us:
"I won't give up, no, I won't give in 'Til I reach the end, and then I'll start again No, I won't leave, I wanna try everything I wanna try even though I could fail."
Be it our continuous communication and partnership with parents, organising and facilitating events, or taking part in competitions and exposures—these are all opportunities for growth through both success and failure. They allow us to expand our openness into new terrains that foster greater potential and limitless possibilities. This stands in contrast to the status quo, the comfort zone, and the habit of constantly staying safe within the familiar, which can suppress one’s growth. Instead, let us embrace open-mindedness, courage, grit, and ultimately the VIRTUE character to Try Everything. Let’s carry this momentum and dynamism forward as our mantra.
Here’s to a new chapter of possibilities— Let’s Keep Going and Keep Growing.
Dear Parents, Students and Staff, GreenHouse@ Seri Jubli Team
On 8th May 2025, Seri Jubli International School marked a meaningful milestone with its first-ever school-wide Admin Day Celebration, a heartfelt tribute to the dedicated administrative team that keeps the school running smoothly behind the scenes. Organised by the Primary Department under the leadership of Tr. Farah and supported by an enthusiastic team of Year 6 prefects— Rui Yao, Moriam, Zyllnny, and Latreia—the event was a lively, touching, and memorable affair.
The celebration kicked off with a series of performances by primary students, including songs and a playful drama that
VOICES FROM THE ORGANISERS
portrayed daily life at the admin office—earning plenty of laughter and knowing smiles from the audience. A specially made video montage showcased each admin team member and their unique contributions, offering a glimpse into their personalities and everyday responsibilities.
A touching highlight was when all admin staff were invited on stage to receive handmade cards and cupcakes from the students. Each card was thoughtfully crafted, showing the effort and sincerity behind the celebration.
Reflecting on their roles, the Year 6 prefects shared both the joys and challenges of planning the event:
Rui Yao
(Coordinator, Videos & Photos)
“Planning was fun even though some of our ideas had to be changed. I learnt that planning an event isn’t easy— you need time management, a backup plan, and definitely more notice! But with more time, it could be even better.”
(Gifts & Performance):
“The gifts the students made were really nice! This experience helped me realise that being an admin is not as easy as it looks.”
(Videos & Photos)
“Coming up with ideas that people would enjoy was tough. I wasn’t sure if the admin team would like what we planned.”
(Gifts & Performance)
“I learnt how important it is to be fully prepared for lastminute changes. Next time, we should definitely start earlier.”
Tr. Farah
Tr. Farah, who spearheaded the event, shared the inspiration behind it:
“The admin team has always been there for the academic staff—during the good times and the difficult ones. Appreciating them is not just part of our school culture; it’s simply the right thing to do.”
Her favourite moment?
“Seeing the entire admin team up on stage, receiving handmade cards and cupcakes from the students—it was beautiful.”
To her prefects, she added:
“They did a splendid job! I’m so proud of how much initiative they took.”
The admin staff were moved by the students’ sincerity and effort. Here are some of their reflections:
Ms. Jasmine Liew
(Business Operations Manager)
“I loved the gift-giving session. Each gift was unique—you could see the effort. Thank you for the creativity and thoughtfulness in everything!”
Mr. Sebastian Lee (Photographer)
“I’ve always been behind the camera, capturing every precious moment of the students and their activities. I never imagined I could step onto the stage and be appreciated. Thank you with all my love."
Ms. Sabrina Sum
(Finance & Admin Manager)
“The student drama at the admin counter was spot on— funny and so accurate! Their observations were brilliant. We’ll even use this as a chance to improve our processes. Next time, the Admin Office might perform our own skit!”
Mr. Enoch Teh
(Academic Admin Support)
“I appreciated the effort put into the performances. It felt great to be recognised—it motivates us to keep doing our best.”
Ms. Chong Ji Cian (Marketing & Admission Executive)
“The performances brought so much joy. The drama was especially hilarious because it reflected real life! Thank you to the students for appreciating us, and to the teachers for making this happen.”
Tr. Liz (Marketing Personnel)
“Honestly, I thought it would be a small celebration at the coffee corner. I didn’t expect the whole school to be part of it. That surprise made the day extra special. Thank you to everyone involved, especially Tr. Rachel for preparing the performers on such short notice—they were adorable!”
This inaugural Admin Day has not only honoured those who often work behind the scenes, but it also demonstrated how much students, teachers, and staff can achieve when they come together with appreciation in their hearts. With sincere performances, meaningful gifts, and plenty of laughter and learning along the way, the event set a new standard for schoolwide recognition.
Here’s to making Admin Day a proud tradition at Seri Jubli International School!
On 13th June 2025, Seri Jubli International School came alive with colour, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation as we celebrated one of the most anticipated events of the year—Teachers’ Day. This year’s celebration, led by Aeris House with Kaely as the main student coordinator and Tr. Vima as the advisor, was not just a one-day event, but a month-long tribute to the dedication, passion, and hard work of our teachers.
The festivities began in May with the Teachers’ Day Selfie Challenge, where students creatively snapped selfies with their teachers and voted for the best shots. At the same time, primary students crafted heartfelt tributes through a Primary Collage Competition, highlighting their creativity and appreciation.
The week leading up to the big day saw teachers and students face off in a friendly Captain’s Ball competition, bringing out the sporting spirit of the entire school. In a touching act of service, Year 11 students organised a Car Wash Day for their teachers, offering both clean cars and warm smiles.
On 13th June, the main event began with the “Find Your Teacher” activity—a fun and engaging task where students had to search for their teachers around the school. Once they found them, students escorted their teachers to the hall, where they were welcomed like celebrities with a red carpet walk, loud cheers, and a chance to sign the commemorative board.
Then came a dramatic twist—Tr. Paulus had been “kidnapped”! To rescue him, each house team had to solve puzzles to earn clues, with house teachers racing to locate the missing principal. In the end, Tr. Chris successfully found him, bringing the game to a triumphant close. The segment sparked imagination and excitement—so much so that some primary students were in tears, truly believing monsters had taken him!
Following the fun, students and teachers gathered for class parties, where thoughtful gifts, shared meals, and even birthday surprises made lasting memories. The event concluded with a Primary performance featuring drama, song, and dance, followed by the Teachers' Award Ceremony, where each teacher received a special title and framed photo, lovingly created by their students.
The celebration drew glowing praise and heartfelt reflections from
Tr. Fazrin
"The red-carpet entrance, the appreciation from students, and the puzzle adventure to rescue Tr. Paulus made this event truly memorable. I was moved by how much thought went into it, despite the challenges behind the scenes. Well done, Aeris!"
Tr. Lieu
"The 'kidnapping' was creative and fun! I truly felt the warmth and appreciation from the students. Well done, Aeris and Tr. Vima, for pulling off something special!"
"Thank you, Aeris House, for a wonderful celebration. I had so much fun and truly felt appreciated by the students. Keep up the great work!"
"My favourite part was the class party. My students surprised me with a cake and bouquet, and I surprised them with Secret Recipe cake for belated birthdays. It was Alya’s actual birthday too! Thank you, Aeris, for an unforgettable celebration."
"This was my first Teachers' Day celebration and I felt very grateful. The class party brought me closer to the students—thank you to everyone who made it so memorable!"
Tr. Teebha
"Every detail was so thoughtfully planned, from the morning activities to the hilarious principal kidnapping scene. A huge round of applause to Aeris and all students involved!"
"Thanks to Aeris and all involved in organising the celebration. The creativity you showed in getting teachers involved was great. We had a lot of fun and laughter together. Thanks for making our day special."

"One of the highlights was the Principal’s Kidnapping! It was so entertaining and added a brilliant surprise element to the event. Congratulations, Aeris!"
"My favourite part was seeing the smiles and excitement from students—it truly made me feel appreciated. It was heartwarming to know our efforts were valued. A big thank you to Aeris for the thoughtful planning and hard work."
"This year's celebration was well-paced and extended throughout the week with activities like quizzes and Captain’s Ball. Thank you, Aeris, for the effort to make us feel celebrated!"
"I’m thankful for the students’ creativity. My favourite part was definitely the Tr. Paulus 'kidnapping'—it was chaotic in the best way!"
Tr. Rachel
"I love teaching, but it’s not always easy. My favourite parts were the appreciation moments, awards, and of course the Tr. Paulus puzzle— it reminded me that our work does make a difference. Thank you!"
Tr. Vima Advisor
"My favourite moment was the teachers' red-carpet entrance with students cheering loudly. I'm proud of how much effort the students put into the celebration."
Tr. Gao
"The most meaningful moment for me was when students presented us with personalised awards and photo frames. It showed how deeply they understood and appreciated each of us."
"I loved how we were welcomed into the hall— walking on the red carpet like celebrities with students cheering us on. That was a lovely feeling! Aeris clearly put in so much effort. I hope to see even more creativity next year!"
"My favourite part was when the primary literally thought the monsters had actually kidnapped Tr. Paulus and cried and tried to defeat the monsters. Overall, I just want to say thank you, Aeris, for putting your heart into this event. It was thoughtful, sincere, and beautifully executed. We really enjoyed the day!"
Kaely Key Main Coordinator
"Seeing ideas come to life from rough drafts was incredibly meaningful. Despite the stress and lack of time, it came from a place of sincere appreciation. I learned that leadership is about service, not control—and I hope to improve the planning system for future leaders."
Jayden Tang Treasurer
"We pulled off a realistic celebration—even made some primary students cry during the Tr. Paulus scene! It was hard managing class party submissions, but we made it work. I’ve learned to be more careful with numbers."
Chai Kee Fong MC & Sound Team
"Coordinating the kidnapping scene was a memorable experience. It involved collaboration with the drama team and tech crew. Despite the last-minute preparation, we pulled off something that brought smiles to many."
This Teachers’ Day wasn’t just a celebration—it was a shared experience of love, laughter, and lasting memories. Thank you for showing us what it means to lead with heart. Here’s to more joyful and creative celebrations in the years ahead.
Seri Jubli recently conducted a series of English Enrichment Programmes with SJKC Chong Eng, SJKC Chong Hwa 1, and SJKC Ping Ming. Each 1.5 to 2-hour session engaged around 60 students aged 10 to 12 in interactive ice-breakers and English station games designed to make language learning fun and enjoyable. The activities were facilitated by our Drama Club members and also other Secondary students, who guided participants through each station while developing their own leadership and communication skills. The programme provided young learners with a fun and enriching English experience, while giving our students a valuable opportunity to support and engage with the wider community.
Primary students attended a flu awareness talk by Dr Pek Siow Hui, a paediatrician from KPJ Healthcare. The session educated students on influenza prevention, using child-friendly visuals and interactive discussions. Organised in collaboration with KPJ Johor, the talk aimed to promote responsible health habits among young learners.
Students from Years 1 to 6 proudly presented their Term 2 Global Perspectives projects, each aligned with key global themes and 21st-century skills such as collaboration, research, and communication.
Year 1 explored Recycling and Environmental Awareness by designing creative products from recyclable materials and conducting eco-themed quizzes to raise awareness.
Year 4 traced the journey of Malaysian food through a “Where Does My Food Come From?” project, researching food origins and nutrition facts to create informative digital reports.
Year 3 focused on Water Conservation, producing infographics and building models of household rainwater harvesting systems to promote sustainable practices.
Year 5 designed robots tailored to specific professions in a project on The World of Work, combining 3D models with digital posters that explained their robots’ real-world applications.
Year 2 created and presented their own original sports, applying research and analytical skills to explore how games are formed and adapted.
Year 6 highlighted Accessibility in Sports, showcasing trifold boards on Paralympic sports and detailed dioramas of inclusive sports environments.
The event was a celebration of curiosity, teamwork, and meaningful inquiry, demonstrating how young learners can engage with complex global issues through creativity and thoughtful action.
This term, our student-athletes proudly represented Seri Jubli in various zonal, district, and state-level sporting events, achieving historic milestones and bringing home medals in multiple disciplines.

SJIS alumnus Justin How (Class of 2019) was invited back to share his journey with our secondary students. Now an Early Years Educator in Singapore, Justin spoke openly about his struggles as a student and how he was given multiple chances to change—a journey that required time, effort, and the gradual rebuilding of trust. He encouraged students to seek mentors, stay resilient, and never give up on themselves. We are extremely proud of how far he’s come, and grateful for the powerful message he shared with the next generation of SJIS learners.
On 21st June, we hosted a vibrant Zootopia Carnival Day, celebrating creativity, community, and student initiative. The event featured a bustling bazaar with booths run by secondary clubs, Year 6 students, and individual entrepreneurs, showcasing games, crafts, and treats. Visitors also enjoyed experiential stations, collecting stamps and earning chances to win in the lucky draw. We also launched our Early Years Programme – Greenhouse@Seri Jubli, welcoming children aged 1.5 to 8 years to explore playful, ageappropriate activities. Face painting was a clear favourite among the little ones. Thank you to everyone who made this event a roaring success!
