SSAA Awards for Excellence
T
he final night of the Convention was the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, hosted by the SSAA Marketing Manager Bryan Furtado, whose stand-up routine had everyone talking. This year’s theme was “coral” with beautifully lit coral centrepieces on each table. The evening commenced with indigenous Australian music, and then a fire dancer joined them onstage. Luckily he didn’t set off any smoke alarms, which was a concern to some people. Chairman Ivor Morgan thanked everyone for attending along with acknowledging the outgoing Board members for their efforts and announcing the new Board members for 2019. During the dinner of local FNQ produce, two new Life Time Members awards were presented along with the SSAA 2019 Awards. The Gala Dinner capped off another successful Convention, finishing up with dancing and good times.
