SSAA Facility Tours

Once again, the highlight of every SSAA Convention are the facility tours. This year we saw people lining up half an hour before the buses were due to pick people up to ensure they didn’t miss out.

Three packed buses rotated to visit three venues in Cairns - National Storage Earlville, Big Blue Self Storage Smithfield and Cairns Beaches Storage.

Each venue was very welcoming and gave a background and tour of the facility and also provided catering. The exciting element of this tour was the diversity of each of the facilities to each other. There were older facilities where people were running businesses and workshops out of, plus cars, caravans and motor home storage and standard, more modern unit storage space.

Comments from attendees were that they liked the range of facilities and that no two were the same in the customer base or layout. They could see how diversity was beneficial and how it is vital to adapt to the changing market, plus accommodating the needs of the local clientele. l
