CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP HYMN NO. 312

MARION

WELCOME & INVOCATION

Rev. John Uldrick Psalm 146

Rev. Allie Osborne

Leader: Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! Congregation: I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long. Leader: Do not put your trust in princes, in mortals, in whom there is no help. Congregation: When their breath departs, they return to the earth; on that very day their plans perish. Leader: Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Congregation: The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. Leader: The Lord watches over the strangers; He upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked He brings to ruin. Congregation: The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations Praise the Lord! HYMN NO. 159

SHARING THEIR STORIES FROM THE MISSION FIELD Elizabeth and Paul Musser just celebrated 40 years with One Collective—formerly International Teams—an inter-denominational mission agency. Paul manages the Global Member Care Team (GMCT), which provides pastoral care to One Collective workers all over the world. Paul and Elizabeth specifically serve their colleagues in Europe and the Muslim World, travelling to visit the teams as well as communicating through video calls and emails. Elizabeth is the daughter of late SPdL members, Barbara and Jere Goldsmith. The Mussers have two sons, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. To be closer to family, the Mussers now split their time at home near Lyon, France and the Chattanooga area where they use technology to continue their member care work. Elizabeth also continues to use her gifts in writing inspirational fiction. She will sign books today after worship. Look for her set-up near the Heritage Room.

WORSHIP OF GOD Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 11 a.m. WE LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE Welcome to worship at Second-Ponce! You belong here, and we hope you'll come back. We truly have something for everyone, and not just on Sundays. During the week, we have virtual small groups and Bible studies. Each Wednesday evening, we have Fellowship Supper, an adult discipleship study and age-appropriate activities for children and teens. Now that you know a little about us, help us get to know you better by completing the blue or green card located in the pew rack. Simply hand it to a minister or drop it in the offering plate. HOW TO JOIN Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our Senior Pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.

ADDITIONAL SUNDAY INFORMATION CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery for babies through pre-K and Kids Worship for children K through 5th grade. You can take your children to Kids Worship before the service or, if you’d prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for either the entire hour or until the Doxology and then go with our children's ministry leaders. You'll pick them up in the Kids’ Club area after worship. SHARING PRAYER REQUESTS At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. Let us know by filling out a prayer request card located on the back of the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the SecondPonce ministerial staff after worship. GIVING AN OFFERING Your financial support of Second-Ponce allows us to carry out the mission God has for our church. There are giving cards in the pew racks that utilize a QR code for making gifts online. You may also drop your offering in the offering plate.
