CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP
WELCOME Rev. Allie Osborne
INVITATION TO WORSHIP Rev. Osborne
HYMN NO. 341 For the Beauty of the Earth DIX
RECOGNITION AND BLESSING OF GRADUATES Abigail Reams
Leader: God of all truth and knowledge, by Your wisdom we continue to learn and grow. Bless the Class of 2025 as we close this chapter of our lives.
People: We thank You for those who taught them, all who inspired them, all who worked beside them and all who supported them along the way.
Leader: Jesus, walk with us as we leave family, friends and the familiar behind us. Take away anxiety and confusion as we make important decisions and discern next steps.
People: Strengthen their many talents and skills. Teach them to trust in the story You hold and unfold for them. May their time, passion and energy be used for the good of all people.
Leader: This is a time for new beginnings and fresh starts, for remembering where we’ve been and hoping for the future. Give us courage to live out our faith with conviction and compassion.
People: May they always lead with Love, knowing that Christ is alive and walks with them every step of the way. Our Lord is making all things new. Thanks be to God!

It's a great day to worship & we're glad you're here!
Here's some additional information you may find helpful today.
REQUESTING MORE INFO
Green Pew Card Use it to share as much information as you like and drop it in the offering plate. We understand that some people are hesitant to fill out church cards. It's true—a member of our pastoral staff will reach out, but you won't be flooded with communication. Engagement with us will be at your own pace. Complete it online at spdl.org/connectcard.
POSTLUDE Allegro assai vivace from Sonata No. 1, Op. 65 Felix Mendelssohn Jack Mitchener, organ
Restrooms & Water There are restrooms on each floor of the church. Bathrooms with changing tables are on the third floor down from the Fellowship Hall. Restrooms closest to the Sanctuary are near the church office. Water fountains are by the restrooms on each floor.
Emergency Care & First Aid Greeters and Bible study leaders can help you receive first aid before worship. If you need help during the service, see one of our uniformed officers just outside of the Sanctuary.
CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP
You may take your children (newborn–5th grade) to the Kids Club before the service or, if you prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for the entire hour or until the Doxology when kids leave with children's ministry leaders (unless otherwise stated in the Order of Worship). After the service, pick them up in the Kids Club.

JOINING THE CHURCH
Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where a member of our ministry team will greet you to begin the process. If you're uncomfortable being in the spotlight, that's ok! Speak with one of our ministers after worship and they'll walk you through an alternate plan.
WEEK AT A GLANCE

MISSIONS IS A CORE VALUE AT SECOND-PONCE
Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE)
Today | 4:30 p.m. Fellowship Hall
Find yourself available this afternoon? Join us for COPE! We've ordered a a little extra food, so let Allie know if you're coming (aosborne@spdl.org). We promise this will be a low-pressure, high-impact event that will help us better care for our community and live into our commitment to keep missions at our core.
What to Expect:
• Role Playing: Participants are assigned roles within fictional families facing poverty.
• Simulated Scenarios: They experience the real-life challenges of low-income families, such as accessing food, healthcare and housing.
• Decision-Making: Participants make choices about how to allocate limited resources, manage expenses and navigate social service systems.
• Resource Centers: The experience often includes resource centers where participants can access simulated services like food banks, employment agencies and mental health support.
• Reflection & Discussion: Following the simulation, participants engage in a group debrief to discuss their experiences, insights and the broader implications of poverty.
MONTHLY SMALL GROUP BOOK STUDY A YEAR WITH GOD
Sign up by May 21 Meetings via Zoom
Do you have trouble remaining faithful to spiritual practices in your life? Do you sometimes wish you had a few people with whom to discuss spiritual questions? If so, join our small group! Together we will read/work through the book A Year with God edited by Richard Foster and Julia Roller, discussing what God has revealed to us during each month. Led by Karen Harwell and the Discipleship Council, the study will be a mixture of personal reading, practice and reflection followed by group discussion and periodic group practice. We'll choose a meeting days/times based on the group who signs up. RSVP by May 21. Contact Karen Harwell (kharwell@spdl.org) to sign up or ask questions.
LET'S GET "ORGAN"IZED
Wed, May 21 | After Fellowship Supper Sanctuary
Have you ever wanted to learn how the pipe organ works? What do all of those buttons and knobs do? Why are there so many keyboards? Does the organist really play notes with his feet? Discover the answers to these questions and more when SPdL organist Jack Mitchener gives a demonstration of the magnificent organ in our Sanctuary.
SUMMER OF STRENGTHS
Target start date: June 1
During the “Summer of Strengths,” we’ll unpack what we’ve learned from the Clifton Strengths assessment and practice applying it in our lives. After taking the assessment, group members will meet 3-4 times over the summer (depending on how many participants sign up) to discuss what they are learning and how they are growing into their God-given talents and gifts. A day/time for our Zoom meetings will be chosen by those who commit to participating. If you’ve already taken the assessment, you’re all ready to start. Contact Karen Harwell (kharwell@spdl.org) for more information and to sign up.
