SHARING THEIR SPDL STORY Aaron and Amanda Payne have been members of Second-Ponce for almost 14 years.

They are part of the Relát Sunday School class and co-hosts of the Parents Connect Zoom small group on Thursday nights. Aaron serves on the Finance Committee and Discipleship Council, and Amanda is an active Deacon. Their daughters, Clara and Emily, are active in our children’s ministry. Aaron and Amanda are originally from Blue Ridge, Georgia, and enjoy returning to their hometown to spend time outdoors as a family.

WE LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE Welcome to worship at Second-Ponce! You belong here, and we hope you'll come back. We truly have something for everyone, and not just on Sundays. During the week, we have virtual small groups and Bible studies. Each Wednesday evening, we have Fellowship Supper, an adult discipleship study and age-appropriate activities for children and teens. Now that you know a little about us, help us get to know you better by completing the blue or green card located in the pew rack. Simply hand it to a minister or drop it in the offering plate.

HOW TO JOIN Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our Senior Pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.

ADDITIONAL SUNDAY INFORMATION CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them!

It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery for babies through pre-K and Kids Worship for children K through 5th grade. You can take your children to Kids Worship before the service or, if you’d prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for either the entire hour or until the Doxology and then go with our children's ministry leaders. You'll pick them up in the Kids’ Club area after worship.

SHARING PRAYER REQUESTS At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. Let us know by filling out a prayer request card located on the back of the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the SecondPonce ministerial staff after worship.

GIVING AN OFFERING Your financial support of Second-Ponce allows us to carry out the mission God has for our church. There are giving cards in the pew racks that utilize a QR code for making gifts online. You may also drop your offering in the offering plate.

SUNDAY SCHOOL LEADER LUNCH Last week, our Sunday School leaders enjoyed a delicious lunch and productive conversation around Bible study and class logistics. The Discipleship Council thanked our teachers, department directors, care givers and recorders who lead faithfully on Sunday mornings. From Karen Harwell: Our first class went well with a great discussion! Dr. Jones shared his wealth of knowledge and wisdom, paired with his appreciation for Bible study in the church. Our focus was an overview of the gospels and their sources. Next week, we dive into the Scriptures. In-person is closed due to space, but folks can still join via Zoom.

SPDLU: HOW TO BE BAPTIST & NOT BE ASHAMED Wed, Sept. 21 & 28 | 6 p.m. | In person & Online From Gayle Suggs: I think all of us should have a clear understanding of our Baptist heritage—we need to know where we came from to know where we are going. We are so blessed to be members of a denomination that allows us (1) to each interpret scripture for ourselves, (2) to be accountable directly to God without the need for a mediator other than Christ, (3) to be members of a congregation that makes decisions about our church life as a body rather than having key decisions dictated down from some organization above, and (4) to have the freedom to practice our religion (or not practice it) in our own way rather than having it dictated by the government. I really look forward to learning more in the coming weeks and hope you'll join me in person or online.
