WELCOME

HYMN NO. 65

INVOCATION SCRIPTURE

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment.

You desire truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Rev. Heather Webb Sanctuary Choir; SPdL Orchestra

OFFERTORY RESPONSE

arr. Goeller Rev. Joshua Scott

Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from Your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against Your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is nothing good in us. O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent; according to Your promises declared unto us in Christ Jesus our Lord. Grant that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life; to the glory of His name. Amen.

(No. 706 in your Hymnal)

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye Heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Indeed, I was born guilty, a sinner when my mother conceived me.

OFFERTORY PRAYER

Psalm 51:1–10

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.

ANTHEM

Rev. Scott

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
