Leader: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Congregation: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all His benefits—Who forgives all your iniquity, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, Who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Leader: The Lord works vindication and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the people of Israel. Congregation: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. ANTHEM

THANK YOU, JOSH AND LAUREN SCOTT For the last four years, Dr. Joshua Scott has faithfully served as our Associate Pastor, ministering directly to youth, college students and young adults. He, along with his wife, Lauren, spearheaded All Together—our racial reconciliation ministry— which combined sermons, music, book studies, videos, podcasts and prayer walks to explore and embrace the diversity of God's people. The impact of Josh's ministry was also felt outside the walls of Second-Ponce through his connections with our partners in missions, ministry and community. It is with gratitude and love that we send the Scotts off to their next ministry adventure. Josh will now serve as the Senior Pastor of Greater Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. We know great things lie ahead. May God continue to bless your ministry together.
SHARING HIS SPDL STORY Robert Suggs is a fourth-generation Atlantan and member of Second-Ponce. He serves on our Worship Council and is active in the young adult ministry. Robert works for the Community Organized Relief Effort, a non-profit organization specializing in disaster relief. He is the son of Gayle and Rob Suggs and grandson of Jim Suggs, all members of Second-Ponce.
WORSHIP OF GOD Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 11 a.m.
WE LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE Welcome to worship at Second-Ponce! You belong here, and we hope you'll come back. We truly have something for everyone, and not just on Sundays. During the week, we have virtual small groups and Bible studies. Each Wednesday evening, we have Fellowship Supper, an adult discipleship study and age-appropriate activities for children and teens. Now that you know a little about us, help us get to know you better by completing the blue or green card located in the pew rack. Simply hand it to a minister or drop it in the offering plate. HOW TO JOIN Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our Senior Pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.
ADDITIONAL SUNDAY INFORMATION CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery for babies through pre-K and Kids Worship for children K through 5th grade. You can take your children to Kids Worship before the service or, if you’d prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for either the entire hour or until the Doxology and then go with our children's ministry leaders. You'll pick them up in the Kids’ Club area after worship. SHARING PRAYER REQUESTS At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. Let us know by filling out a prayer request card located on the back of the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the Second-Ponce ministerial staff after worship. GIVING AN OFFERING Your financial support of Second-Ponce allows us to carry out the mission God has for our church. There are giving cards in the pew racks that utilize a QR code for making gifts online. You may also drop your offering in the offering plate.
