CONFESSION OF SIN & ASSURANCE OF PARDON Rev. Ronnie Brewer
Leader: Lord, You showed us true humility by becoming one of us, yet too often we practice pride.
All: You cried alongside Your friends and for the city of Jerusalem, yet too often we rush past the pain of others and are careless about our cities.
Leader: You loved those who were weak, despised or cast out, yet too often we love those who are strong, respected or popular.
All: You freely forgave and healed, yet too often we hold grudges and cause pain.
Leader: You lived a perfectly holy life, yet too often we do not yearn for righteousness.
All: You prayed that we who believe in You should be united with each other and You, yet too often we focus on the differences that separate us from other believers.
Leader: You were mocked, whipped and even killed for us, yet too often we deny You.
All: You call us to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, yet too often we blend into or hide from our culture. Forgive us, Lord, so that we will shine with Your glory. Amen.
Leader: Surely He has borne our infirmities and carried our diseases; yet we accounted Him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the punishment that made us whole, and by His bruises we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
All: Thanks be to God! Amen!

WELCOME TO SPdL
Here's some additional information you may find helpful today. It's a great day to worship & we're glad you're here!
REQUESTING MORE INFO
Green Pew Card Use it to share as much information as you like and drop it in the offering plate. We understand that some people are hesitant to fill out church cards. It's true—a member of our pastoral staff will reach out, but you won't be flooded with communication. Engagement with us will be at your own pace.
FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND
Restrooms & Water There are restrooms on each floor of the church. Bathrooms with changing tables are on the third floor down from the Fellowship Hall. Restrooms closest to the Sanctuary are near the church office. Water fountains are by the restrooms on each floor.
Emergency Care & First Aid
Greeters and Bible study leaders can help you receive first aid before worship. If you need help during the service, see one of our uniformed officers just outside of the Sanctuary.
CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP
You may take your children (babies–5th grade) to the Kids' Club before the service or, if you prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for the entire hour or until the Doxology when kids leave with children's ministry leaders. After worship, pick them up in the Kids’ Club.

JOINING THE CHURCH
J. S. Bach
ANTHEM And Can It Be? Forrest Sanctuary Choir; SPdL Orchestra
Christ, who makes us blessed, and who had done no evil, for us was taken at midnight like a thief, led before godless people, and falsely accused, jeered, mocked, and spat upon, as the Scripture says.
The flowers on the Communion Table are in loving memory of ROBERT CHARLIE (HUSKY) HALL.
They are given by Robin Morgan and family.
Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where a member of our ministry team will greet you to begin the process. If you're uncomfortable being in the spotlight, that's ok! Speak with one of our ministers after worship and they'll walk you through an alternate plan.

40 WEEKS OF PRAYER
WEEK 37: Apr. 13–19: Holy Week
Read: Mark 11:1–11
Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, as we read these words describing Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, we are inspired. We can almost feel the excitement of the crowds that gathered in hope. As we read the familiar words, we recall that people lined the road, waving palm branches and shouting "Hosanna, save us.” And You did, not in the way they expected, but according to Your own marvelous plan. Thank You for the gift of Jesus. Thank You for your mercy, grace and love. Thank You for giving us a way out of sin and death. We will follow Jesus' story through the coming week—Holy Week. We will follow through the pain and suffering He will endure with hope and joy, because we know that through His sacrifice on the cross, we are given the gift of eternal life. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
