Congregation: Merciful God, You made us in Your image, with a mind to know You, a heart to love You and a will to serve You. But our knowledge is imperfect, our love inconstant, our obedience incomplete. Day by day, we fail to grow into Your likeness. In Your tender love, forgive us through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Leader: I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Congregation: Amen, and amen!

Community Good Friday Service | Friday, April 7 Noon | Peachtree Road UMC
All are encouraged to attend this annual Buckhead Good Friday service. Special music begins at 11:45 a.m. followed by worship and a homily from Rev. David F. Richards, III of New Hope A.M.E. Church. Parking is available onsite.
Easter | Sunday, April 9 | Sunday School | Worship | Lemonade on the Lawn
We'll begin with Sunday School and small groups at 9:45 a.m. followed by worship at 11 in the Sanctuary. Bring your best blooms as we'll flower the cross* prior to the service. At Noon, we'll enjoy Lemonade on the Lawn where you'll have the opportunity to take pictures with the flowered cross.
*What does it mean to "flower the cross?" The tradition of “flowering the cross” acknowledges the transition from Good Friday to Easter by transforming the barren cross—a reminder of Jesus' death—into a beautiful, living symbol of the resurrection. The cross on the SPdL lawn will be covered in a wire form that holds flowers and greenery. Prior to Easter worship, each attendee picks out a fresh flower—one they bring from home or one of the blooms provided by the church— and places it within the cross' wire form. Eventually, the cross is completely covered in beautiful flowers with a brilliant array of color, light and fragrance. After worship, there is another tradition of folks gathering with loved ones (or solo) to take photos with the stunning flowered cross.
Welcome to worship at Second-Ponce! You belong here, and we hope you'll come back. We truly have something for everyone, and not just on Sundays. During the week, we have virtual small groups and Bible studies. Each Wednesday evening, we have Fellowship Supper, an adult discipleship study and age-appropriate activities for children and teens. Now that you know a little about us, help us get to know you better by completing the blue or green card located in the pew rack. Simply hand it to a minister or drop it in the offering plate.
HOW TO JOIN
Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our Senior Pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.
ADDITIONAL SUNDAY INFORMATION
CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP
We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. You'll pick them up in the Kids’ Club area after worship.
SHARING PRAYER REQUESTS
At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. Let us know by filling out a prayer request card located on the back of the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the SecondPonce ministerial staff after worship. F
