WE LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE

Jonathan Hall

Welcome to worship at Second-Ponce! You belong here, and we hope you'll come back. We truly have something for everyone, and not just on Sundays. During the week, we have virtual small groups and Bible studies. Each Wednesday evening, we have Fellowship Supper, an adult discipleship study and age-appropriate activities for children and teens. Now that you know a little about us, help us get to know you better by completing the blue or green card located in the pew rack. Simply hand it to a minister or drop it in the offering plate.

THE KIDS' CLUB AT SECOND-PONCE

The Kids’ Club at Second-Ponce is an environment that nurtures children from birth through fifth grade by caring for them and their parents, teaching them about God, challenging them to be good neighbors and providing them with a church community that feels like family. Last weekend, our 3rd–6th graders participated in CBFGA’s (Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia) Story Children’s Retreat at Rock Eagle Camp in Eatonton. They spent their weekend learning about the power of stories— especially the ones that Jesus told.

FEBRUARY CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP

Written in 1900 as part of President Lincoln’s birthday celebration, James Weldon Johnson’s Lift Every Voice and Sing has become an enduring musical source of comfort during the ongoing struggle for social justice and racial reconciliation. Sung for generations in Black and African American churches, this powerful song is now embraced by faithful people of all colors. It is important to remember that the first national leaders of the American civil rights movement were Christian ministers, and we join with people of faith across the nation this month in thanking God for His gracious providence and continuing reminder that we “are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).

Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our Senior Pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.

ADDITIONAL SUNDAY INFORMATION

CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP

We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery for babies through pre-K and Kids Worship for children K through 5th grade. You can take your children to Kids Worship before the service or, if you’d prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for either the entire hour or until the Doxology and then go with our children's ministry leaders. You'll pick them up in the Kids’ Club area after worship.

SHARING PRAYER REQUESTS

At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. Let us know by filling out a prayer request card located on the back of the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the SecondPonce ministerial staff after worship.

GIVING AN OFFERING

Your financial support of Second-Ponce allows us to carry out the mission God has for our church. There are giving cards in the pew racks that utilize a QR code for making gifts online. You may also drop your offering in the offering plate.
