CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP
WORSHIP OF GOD
Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 11 a.m.
Leader: God, Who is rich in mercy, loved us even when we were dead in sin, and made us alive together with Christ. By grace you have been saved. In the name of Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven. May Almighty God strengthen you with power through the Holy Spirit, that Christ may live in your hearts through faith.

WE LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE
Lift Every Voice and Sing
Congregation and Sanctuary Choir sing together
Lift ev’ry voice and sing, till earth and Heaven ring, ring with the harmonies of liberty. Let our rejoicing rise, high as the list’ning skies, let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us. Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us. Facing the rising sun, of our new day begun, let us march on till victory is won.
BAPTISMS
Today, we have the honor of baptizing two members—Jennifer Felton and Calvin Milam—into the body of Christ. Earlier, Jennifer and Calvin wrote their personal testimonies and chose readers to share those faith journeys with the congregation.

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN & Rev. John Uldrick ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Almighty God, to Whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from Whom no secrets are hid: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You and worthily magnify Your Holy Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Congregation: Amen.
Leader: Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. Silence is kept for reflection.
Leader: Most merciful God,
Congregation: We confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against You in thought, word and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways, to the glory of Your Holy Name. Amen.

Congregation: Amen.

POSTLUDE Praise to the Lord Visser Verleen Baerg, organ
Welcome to worship at Second-Ponce! You belong here, and we hope you'll come back. We truly have something for everyone, and not just on Sundays. During the week, we have virtual small groups and Bible studies. Each Wednesday evening, we have Fellowship Supper, an adult discipleship study and age-appropriate activities for children and teens. Now that you know a little about us, help us get to know you better by completing the blue or green card located in the pew rack. Simply hand it to a minister or drop it in the offering plate.
HOW TO JOIN
Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our Senior Pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.
ADDITIONAL SUNDAY INFORMATION
CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP
We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery for babies through pre-K and Kids Worship for children K through 5th grade. You can take your children to Kids Worship before the service or, if you’d prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for either the entire hour or until the Doxology and then go with our children's ministry leaders. You'll pick them up in the Kids’ Club area after worship.
SHARING PRAYER REQUESTS
At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. Let us know by filling out a prayer request card located on the back of the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the SecondPonce ministerial staff after worship.
GIVING AN OFFERING
Your financial support of Second-Ponce allows us to carry out the mission God has for our church. There are giving cards in the pew racks that utilize a QR code for making gifts online. You may also drop your offering in the offering plate.

GOOD ENOUGH BOOK STUDY
Book Available Online & In Stores Devotions & Companion Book Guide
Sent Via Email Sundays at 6 a.m.
Join us this Lenten season as we explore what it means to live into a faith that is imperfect yet “good enough." This phrase “good enough," from the book of the same name, is a “little shrug that takes us off the hook for perfection and reminds us that we are human." This book study promises to enhance your Lenten season walk with God.
