PASTORAL PRAYER/THE LORD'S PRAYER

Rev. Joshua Scott

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU? At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. In fact, we consider this act an honor. Let us know how we can pray for you by filling out a prayer card located in the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the Second-Ponce ministerial staff after worship.

LEADING OUR OFFERTORY PRAYER Edie Whitaker, a member of Second-Ponce for 47 years, was recently ordained as a Deacon. Edie served as SPdL's Minister to Children for over 20 years before taking on lay leadership in her retirement. She sings in our Sanctuary Choir, rings handbells and has led children’s choirs for many years. Edie is married to Reid, and they have two adult children (Lang and Claire) and five grandchildren.

The flowers on the pedestal and in the Baptistry are given in loving memory of Ouida Tennyson Sara, “Mama" & "Grandmamá.”

WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE If you haven't already, visit our welcome table located in the lobby of the Sanctuary (also called the Narthex). There, you'll find information about the church and friendly members ready to answer your questions. We hope you'll come back. We meet for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and offer two worship opportunities: A traditional service in our Sanctuary at 11 a.m. and a contemporary service called All Together in our SPdL Theater at 4 p.m. We share Fellowship Supper Wednesdays at 5 p.m. followed by activities for children, youth & adults. During the week there are Bible studies, special events, guest speakers and more.

HOW TO JOIN Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. During the Sunday morning worship service, we provide the opportunity to join the church during the Hymn of Response. At any time during the song, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our senior pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.

They are given by the Sara and Wisenbaker families. SWEETEST NAME
