SCRIPTURE

Psalm 122

Rev. Joshua Scott

I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord!"

To it the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord. For there the thrones for judgment were set up, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, and security within your towers." For the sake of my relatives and friends I will say, "Peace be within you." For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good. The Lamb Family

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU? At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. In fact, we consider this act an honor. Let us know how we can pray for you by filling out a prayer card located in the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the Second-Ponce ministerial staff after worship.

LIGHTING THE ADVENT CANDLE The Lamb family has been actively serving Second-Ponce together for many years. Patty is a lifelong member and active Deacon and Bob sings in the Sanctuary Choir. Together, they enjoy attending the Bridge Builders Sunday School class. Patty and Bob have served in church leadership roles as members of various committees and the Deaconate and as Sunday school teachers. Their children, Betsy and Griffin, grew up at Second-Ponce and are active in the young adult ministry. They are both current leaders-elect on the church's Ministries Leadership Team (MLT). Beginning in 2020, Betsy will serve on the Connected Team and Griffin will serve with Engaged Church.

LEADING OUR OFFERTORY PRAYER Dennis Carter, a member of Second-Ponce for almost 20 years, is an active Deacon. He and his wife Karen are members of the Bridge Builder’s Sunday School class. They have two girls, Dana (17) and Stacy (13), who have been raised at Second-Ponce. Dennis is an electrical engineer with a small practice in Brookhaven. He enjoys Georgia Tech sports, hiking, camping, tennis and golf.

Welcome to Second-Ponce! We are a community of Christ-followers from all walks of life who desire a personal relationship with God. If you haven't already, visit our welcome table located in the lobby of the Sanctuary (also called the Narthex). There, you'll find information about the church and friendly members ready to answer your questions. We hope you'll come back. We meet for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each Sunday. We share Fellowship Supper Wednesdays at 5 p.m. followed by activities for children, youth & adults. During the week there are Bible studies, special events, guest speakers and more. You belong here.

HOW TO JOIN Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. During the Sunday morning worship service, we provide the opportunity to join the church during the Hymn of Response. At any time during the song, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our senior pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.
