Welcome to Second-Ponce! You belong here, and we hope you'll come back. We meet for worship Sundays at 11 a.m. in our beautiful Sanctuary and host a contemporary online worship service at 2 p.m. called All Together. You can stream them both on our Facebook page or at www.livestream.com/spdl. During the week, we have virtual small groups and Bible studies and each Wednesday, we hold a churchwide prayer call and an adult discipleship study we call SPdLU (Second-Ponce de Leon University). We truly have something for everyone here at Second-Ponce.

LEADING OUR OFFERTORY PRAYER Angelyn Turner has worked with children's choirs and sung in the sanctuary choir since first coming to Second-Ponce after she graduated from college. When asked about her experience with this summer's Touching Miami with Love mission trip, she says "I loved it!" Angelyn met her husband, Noel, at Second-Ponce and they have two adult sons, Carson and Charles.

George Trusler, a member of Second-Ponce since 2015, sings bass in the Sanctuary choir, is a member of the Biblical Explorer’s Sunday School class, is a part of the Executive Committee as past deacon chair, and serves behind the scenes in many ways. George has participated in five mission trips to Miami and often serves as the chef!

IN THE LIFE OF OUR CHURCH WMU FELLOWSHIP Tuesday, October 5 | 11 a.m. | Fellowship Hall Our Baptist Women will gather for our monthly program and prayer time in the Fellowship Hall this Tuesday!

Missy Ward Angalla will be our speaker. Missy is currently staying at the Mission House here at Second-Ponce. She will be sharing about her work with Amani Sasa serving refugees in Uganda.

After the program, we will have boxed lunches that can be eaten in the Fellowship Hall or taken outside on the Plaza. The cost of a box lunch is $8 and that includes a beverage. At this time, payment for lunches can be made by check or exact change as you enter. We will not be making change to cut down on the transmission risk at this time. FELLOWSHIP SUPPER RETURNS Starting Wednesday, October 6 | 5 p.m. | Fellowship Hall We're excited to ask you to join us Wednesday for Fellowship Supper! We know a good many of our members are not yet comfortable eating meals in public so we're committing to a two-week test run of our Wednesday night meal after which we'll evaluate if the time is right to make a full return to this beloved event. The menu will be fried chicken, potato salad, mixed veggies, green salad and assorted desserts and is available for $8 per person. You may pay by check or exact amount. To reduce the risk of transmission, we will not be making change.

SPDLU: PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY Led by The Rev. Dan Brown, retired United Methodist Pastor (and Bill Gabbard's brother-in-law) Wednesdays, October 6, 13, 20 & 27 | 6:15 p.m.

In the Fellowship Hall & on Zoom During the month of October, our special guest, Dan Brown, will lead us through four of the themes explored in the Letter of James and look at how amazingly practical they are for us today.

SENIOR ADULT APPLE TRIP Thursday, October 21 | 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Join us for our annual apple trip to the Dillard House and Jaemor Farms! The bus will depart Second-Ponce at 9 a.m. and return around 4 p.m. We’ll have a delicious lunch, pick up some yummy apples and best of all, we’ll do it together! The cost of the trip is $30. IN THE LIFE OF OUR CHURCH CHURCH IN CONFERENCE Sunday, October 24 | After the 11 a.m. worship service Make a special note on your calendar for our Church in Conference on Sunday, October 24, immediately following the 11 am service. It will be a hybrid meeting with participation opportunities in person and online. A boxed lunch will be available for $5 per person for those joining us in the Fellowship Hall. Please RSVP for lunch by contacting Tiffany Baumstark in the church office at tbaumstark@spdl.org. This is an important meeting where we’ll review the 2022 budget and elect our leaders for the coming year. We need 100 church members to participate to meet quorum.

VOLUNTEER FOR TRUNK OR TREAT We are looking for volunteers who are willing to host a trunk Saturday, October 30th from 4-6 p.m. Other non-trunk volunteers are needed to help with set up, games, photography, clean up, etc. This will be a wonderful way to reach out to the community together! Our goal is to make this event as safe as possible for participants and volunteers using the COVID safety protocols for outdoor activities developed by the CDC. THE MULTIPLICATION TABLE In the miracle of the loaves and fish, Jesus took the lunch of one boy, multiplied it and fed thousands with leftovers to spare. In this same way, God multiplies our gifts in ways we can’t imagine to do the work of His kingdom. When you give as you are able, God continues to multiply and work miracles.

You should have received a pledge sheet in the mail, but copies are available in the Welcome Center and online at spdl. org/pledge. Our goal for this year is $1.5 million from 150 pledges. We ask you to begin prayerfully considering your pledge for this year. What will be your gift to The Multiplication Table?
