HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU? At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. In fact, we consider this act an honor. Let us know how we can pray for you by filling out a prayer card located in the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the Second-Ponce ministerial staff after worship.
LEADING OUR OFFERTORY PRAYER Barbara Haig, active at Second-Ponce for over 60 years, was honored in 2018 as a Life Deacon. Barbara has taught Sunday School in various areas for over 50 years and is currently the long-time teacher of the Radiant Sunday School class. She has also served on the missions and nominating committees and currently volunteers with Respite Care Atlanta. Barbara enjoys extensive traveling including visits to all seven continents, over 70 countries and all 50 states.

WORSHIP OF GOD
As a youth minister, I have the joy and privilege of journeying with teenagers as they make the climb through the rough and challenging terrain of the adolescent years. From the ages of 12–18, there is so much that changes and very little is without change. It is amazing to witness new bonds and relationships form, but it is quite challenging to witness these once-great connections turn into non-existent relationships. It is beautiful to watch students challenge themselves by trying new sports, but it is rough to watch them not achieve the spot on the varsity team that they worked, prayed for. What I have learned is that during these challenging times, students need grace and love. Grace is the currency of youth ministry! However, the application of grace is not restricted to only teenagers but should freely be given to everyone. Navigating the rapid, rough waters of adolescence has taught me to give grace often. I am now aware that attitudes from others should not always be taken personally because that person could have personal matters they are in the process of addressing privately. I am now sensitive to the fact that growth does not take place without growing pains. Therefore, as pain reveals itself, we must be ready to dispense a generous amount of grace to others. Pain is not usually a pleasurable experience in any form. As grace is applied, empathy must be our norm as we constantly should ask ourselves, "How is that person feeling?" Truthfully, in many ways, youth ministry continues to shape and form me spiritually. Psalm 103:8 says, "The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love." Should not this be the method of operation for each Christ-follower? We should extend compassion, grace and love to everyone. Grace is a powerful gift from God that we have the privilege of sharing with the world! Next Sunday is Refuge Sunday, where the students will lead us in worship. This week, would you pray for the students and parents who are navigating the deep waters of adolescence and please know that I am praying for each of you, that we may learn to give grace often and love always.
WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE If you haven't already, visit our welcome table located in the lobby of the Sanctuary (also called the Narthex). There, you'll find information about the church and friendly members ready to answer your questions. We hope you'll come back. We meet for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and offer two worship opportunities: A traditional service in our Sanctuary at 11 a.m. and a contemporary service called All Together in our SPdL Theater at 4 p.m. We share Fellowship Supper Wednesdays at 5 p.m. followed by activities for children, youth & adults. During the week there are Bible studies, special events, guest speakers and more.
HOW TO JOIN Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. During the Sunday morning worship service, we provide the opportunity to join the church during the Hymn of Response. At any time during the song, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where our senior pastor or a Second-Ponce minister will greet you with warmth and joy.
