Melodious songs, cultural performances, and lively activities highlighted the values of togetherness and harmony that Onam represents
The story of King Mahabali’ s return was remembered with cheerful hearts, reminding everyone of equality, kindness, and community spirit. The celebrations were not only a cultural showcase but also a reminder of the importance of preserving traditions With laughter, music, and shared joy, the event truly reflected the essence of Onam and left everyone with cherished memories of togetherness and festivity
Conversations naturally emerged, with children sharing discoveries, asking questions, and celebrating differences among peers By combining tactile experiences with visual reflection, learners strengthened both fine motor skills and self-perception
This Reggio-inspired exploration highlighted the power of hands-on learning, where creativity, selfawareness, and curiosity come together Through this activity, learners not only enjoyed the process of making but also built confidence in expressing their individuality and appreciating the diversity around them
Our learners recently engaged in a Reggio-inspired provocation where mirrors and loose parts became exciting tools for exploration and creativity Using a variety of openended materials, children were encouraged to build and create representations of their own faces As they experimented with different shapes, colors, and textures, they expressed individuality and artistic expression while developing a deeper awareness of their own features. The activity also fostered observation and critical thinking, as learners noticed details about symmetry, proportion, and the uniqueness of each face
The conversations also highlighted the importance of balancing kindness with firmness by setting clear boundaries while maintaining a nurturing environment. Parents shared experiences and learned how predictable structures, when paired with love, can reduce stress, prevent conflicts, and foster harmony in family life The session beautifully emphasized that discipline is not about control but about guiding children with empathy, respect, and consistency, ultimately strengthening the parent-child bond
Our second Parent Wise session on Positive Discipline centered around the theme “Creating Routines and Boundaries with Love. ” The session offered parents valuable insights into how structure and affection go hand in hand in shaping a child’ s growth. Through interactive activities such as role-play, guided reflection, and open discussions, parents explored practical strategies to build consistent daily rhythms at home They discovered how routines not only provide children with a sense of security but also cultivate independence, responsibility, and self-confidence.
The session encouraged learners to reflect on their own habits, sparking lively conversations around budgeting, saving pocket money, and even setting small financial goals. Mr. Aswin’ s approachable style helped make an often complex subject feel easy and enjoyable to understand. By connecting financial lessons to everyday life, the workshop provided learners with valuable tools to develop awareness, responsibility, and confidence in handling money from an early age
Our learners recently had an insightful and engaging session with the parent of Ruh and financial management expert, Mr. Aswin, who made the concept of financial literacy come alive through simple stories and real-life examples. He guided learners to think about money in practical ways, sharing relatable lessons on patience, wise spending, and the value of saving. Through interactive discussions, they explored the difference between needs and wants and discovered how smart choices today can shape a more secure and responsible future
Our learners had an absolute blast celebrating International Dot Day! Inspired by the idea of “making their mark, ” they joyfully explored endless ways to create dots and patterns
Some painted bold, colorful dots, while others carefully shaded and colored themxa A few even stretched their creativity by making “dots without dots” turning strokes, swirls, and smudges into imaginative designs
The excitement continued at the light table, where glowing dots came alive in a magical play of light and shadow. Self-Expression
Learners also experimented with loose parts, arranging pebbles, buttons, and beads into unique dotinspired creations With each activity, they discovered that a simple dot could become the starting point for endless creativity and expression
The day was filled with laughter, colour, imagination, and a strong sense of “I can make my mark too!” truly embodying the spirit of Dot Day.
The workshop emphasized the importance of documentation as a tool to capture and reflect on children’ s learning, making it visible and meaningful for both students and teachers. Educators shared ideas, strategies, and experiences, fostering community and professional growth across campuses Reflections highlighted the approach’ s practical value, its ability to engage learners actively, and its power to motivate both educators and students The session strengthened our commitment to creating learning environments that encourage exploration, inquiry, and lifelong curiosity
Educators from Ruh’s three campuses recently came together for an enriching workshop on the Reggio Emilia Approach, focusing on meaningful provocations and documentation. The session provided an opportunity to revisit Malaguzzi’s philosophy and explore its relevance in today’s classrooms. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, educators deepened their understanding of how thoughtful provocations can inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in young learners.
Our littlest learners recently visited Lulu Mall for an exciting and educational outing that brought learning to life in a real-world setting. As they explored the mall, they observed how shopping takes place and discovered the different sections, from groceries and clothing to toys and household items Each aisle sparked curiosity and provided opportunities to identify products, understand their uses, and compare choices The children practiced observation skills, noticed similarities, differences, and began to make simple decisions about what they saw
The visit became a hands-on learning experience that introduced concepts such as selection, decision-making, and everyday problem-solving. Learners also interacted with the environment in a social setting, noticing how people move, communicate, and work in a public space. With excitement at every turn, the outing combined fun with practical learning, leaving the children with memorable experiences that connected classroom knowledge to the world around them
Our learners recently had a wonderful opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences during a visit to a local farm. As part of their Unit of Inquiry, the trip allowed them to explore the origins of food, observe farming practices firsthand, and understand the importance of sustainability and caring for the environment. Walking through the fields, interacting with farm animals, and seeing crops grow helped learners make tangible connections between what they study in class and the world around them
By engaging directly, asking questions, and making careful observations, learners deepened their knowledge in ways that go far beyond textbooks. The hands-on experience sparked curiosity, encouraged critical thinking, and inspired thoughtful conversations about food, resources, and the environment This immersive visit fostered a sense of appreciation for nature and emphasized the importance of sustainability, helping learners develop meaningful connections between their learning, their choices, and everyday life
