Ever put your coat on the wrong-way? Couldn’t find the arm holes in your trousers? Or just had a day where you didn’t want to wear clothes? Dive into a world of colour, texture and movement. Second Hand Dance invite us all to be as creative as we can with the clothes we wear, tempting us to get dressed just a little bit differently.

The tea-guzzling Tiger roars into Corby this Spring in this truly magical Olivier Awardnominated production of The Tiger Who Came To Tea, straight from a smash-hit international tour and a West End Christmas run.

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show Thu 22 June 2pm & 4pm & Fri 23 June 11am & 2pm The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by author/illustrator Eric Carle, comes to the stage in this critically acclaimed production featuring a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets.

Ages 2-7

Four of Carle’s faithfully adapted stories are performed: The Artist Who Painted A Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Get Involved

Alongside our main programme, we invite people from across Corby and beyond to Get Involved at The Core. We offer a variety of ways to connect with us, providing creative sessions for all ages that include a dance, drama, digital and performance focus, amongst others.

Sparks Saturdays 10am-11am (ages 5-7) & 11.15am-12.15pm (ages 8-11) Sparks is an exciting, lively and established youth theatre for 5-7 and 8-11 year olds. Working with a professional theatre maker, children will be able to bring their imaginations to life through theatre.

February Hip Hop Half Term Mon 13 – Fri 17 February 9.30am-4.30pm Join us for an inspiring and educational Hip Hop Half Term, bringing you a jam packed insight into the culture of Hop Hop. It will include graffiti, battles, DJs and dance – all resulting in a showcase on Friday.

Summer Play In A Week Mon 24 July – Fri 28 July 9.30am-4.30pm Join us this summer for our Play In A Week. You will work with professional theatre makers to create a play from scratch developing your performance skills along the way. This is a fun and inspiring challenge for young people interested in any aspect of theatre.

We are running groups for ages 5-11 and 12-18.

We can deliver workshops at your school or in The Lab at The Core around curriculum or art forms. These can be in Performance, Lyric Writing, Developing Characters, Script Writing, Film and much more.

We can deliver workshops to suit the needs and aims of your students. These can be curriculum specific, about a specific art form or developing certain skills. We work with you to design and develop this work so it is completely tailored to you.

Play In A Day/Play In A Week

During the course of a day or a week your class or school can work with a practitioner to develop a play to showcase. This can be from a written piece or themed to your curriculum.

Arts Award

We can deliver Arts Award across all 5 levels. Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. We can deliver one off projects like Discover in a Day and Bronze in a week, or work with you to align Arts Award across existing activities including after school clubs or end of year showcases.

Rockingham School

Working in partnership with Rockingham School we have delivered a project to inspire children to write with a purpose. Using exciting performances and immersive techniques, practitioners have worked with the whole school (over 280 children) to: • increase independent writing skills • raise the enthusiasm for writing • provide them real life experiences of writing for a purpose.

Over a course of three terms we have delivered six writing days which began with an excited experience to capture the imagination of the school. The practitioners then worked to use this stimulus to create a piece which was showcased throughout the schools. This has included things like the discovery of a dinosaur bone to create stimulus for Journalism and an Alien Landing to develop narrative.

I made sure this was my best piece of work because I tried hard with my handwriting, and I added in as much detail as I could.’”
