Aidan’s lost. His best mate’s starting uni, his mum can’t get out of bed, and his new side hustle has questionable legality. Meanwhile, he’s stacking shelves at the supermarket wondering if this is all he’s cut out for. He’s got hobbies – hanging out at the skate park and doomscrolling his days away.

As he’s lapping up the algorithm, “Hugo Bang” appears with the promise to help Aidan become the alpha he was born to be. Will Hugo Bang help Aidan get his life back on track, or will he lead Aidan to a darker, more dangerous place? Directed by Jesse Jones, this brand-new play by local playwright Samson Hawkins (Village Idiot, Stratford East) crackles with dry humour and a modern-day wit. Transforming the Derngate auditorium into a skatepark. This Made in Northampton production dives headfirst into the influence of online culture, the pull of toxic masculinity, and the search for identity in the digital age.

Whether you’re a teenager trying to figure things out, a parent wondering what’s going on in your child’s world, a teacher looking for new ways to engage, or just someone curious about the chaos of growing up today – don’t miss this bold, funny and unfiltered exploration of masculinity, influence, and identity.

Three parties. One weekend. The invitations have been sent and there's no going back… it’s Party Season!

Xander is back in town, and this weekend he’s on parenting duty. The kids are in the ball pit; the Entertainer is blowing bubbles; the adults gobble Perelló olives and pretend to like each other. As ancient grudges rear their heads, the tension rises like a helium balloon. Caught between who he was and who he’s supposed to be, Xander must decide whether he’s going to grow up or just pass the parcel.

From the multi-award-winning creators of Education, Education, Education and The Last Of The Pelican Daughters comes a sugar-fuelled, bobbin-winding fever dream where class identities collide, social niceties unravel, and underslept parents do their best to hold it all together.

Party Season is a razor-sharp new comedy about privilege, party rings and the pressures of being a parent. RSVP!

The Hit Play by DANNY ROBINS

‘A

Directed by MATTHEW DUNSTER & GABRIEL VEGA

WEISSMAN

MODERN CLASSIC’

SUNDAY TIMES

The new stage phenomenon that has taken the West End by storm now returns, following it's last sell out run in Northampton.

Written by Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcasts Uncanny and The Battersea Poltergeist, 2:22 A Ghost Story comes fresh from record-breaking seasons at five West End theatres with a host of acclaimed star performances. It’s a brilliantly funny and adrenaline-filled night where secrets emerge and ghosts may or may not appear… What do you believe? And do you dare discover the truth?

“There’s something in our house. I hear it every night, at the same time.”

Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they’re going to stay up… until 2:22… and then they’ll know.

White Cobra Theatricals proudly presents The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice, Jim Cartwright’s Olivier Award-winning modern classic.

Shy and reclusive LV spends her days locked away in her bedroom, finding solace in her father’s old records. But when she opens her mouth to sing, something extraordinary happens: the powerful voices of countless divas pour out.

When a sleazy talent scout hears her gift however, LV is thrust into a spotlight she never asked for, much to the annoyance of her brash, larger-than-life mother.

As dreams clash with desperation, Little Voice must find the courage to speak—and sing—for herself.

Funny, raw and heartbreakingly human! Don't miss this bittersweet tale that celebrates the magic of music and the fight to be heard.

Written by acclaimed playwright Torben Betts and produced by the award-winning Original Theatre (Birdsong, Murder In The Dark, The Mirror Crack’d), Murder At Midnight

Inspired by remarkable true events

“It’s built for us, isn’t it? The Spitfire. Built for women.”

New Year’s Eve, 1959.

Decades after answering the call, two women separated by the war meet again as the rain hammers down on the windows of The Spitfire pub.

As we hear their story, we’re transported back to a time when female pioneers defied expectations and soared through the skies.

Spitfire Girls is inspired by the extraordinary true stories of the women who dared to fly during WWII and the incredible bond that tied them together.

Funny and heart-warming, this is an untold story of strength, courage and loss. But above all else, hope.

Operation Mincemeat is the 2024 Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical. It’s London's biggest hit with 88 Five-Star reviews, making it the best-reviewed show in West End history. Now also a Tony Award®-winning musical on Broadway!

The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse.

Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.

Written by Willy Russell, the legendary Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.

Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the multi-award-winning Blood Brothers. The production ran for more than 10,000 performances in London’s West End, one of only five musicals ever to achieve that milestone. It has been affectionately christened the ‘Standing Ovation Musical’, as inevitably it “brings the audience cheering to its feet and roaring its approval” (The Daily Mail).

The superb score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True “EXHILARATING... ONE OF THE BEST MUSICALS EVER WRITTEN” Sunday Times

BOX OFFICE OPENING HOURS

Box Office telephone lines are open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm. Our Box Office counter service is available Wednesday 1pm-6pm and Saturday 10am-6pm. On days when a performance is scheduled our Counter will open two hours before, and remain open until 15 minutes after the start of the last scheduled performance. If there are no performances the counter remains closed on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We encourage customers to use cashless payments at the bars and box office. We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We don’t accept American Express. You can also pay with National Theatre Tokens or Royal & Derngate gift vouchers.

DISCOUNTS/CONCESSIONS

Under 16s, Over 60s, Students, Job Seekers and Access Patrons may be able to claim a discount on their tickets. Please let us know if you are eligible for a concession at the time of booking and note that at some performances only certain types of concession may apply.

• Stage & Screen Members also often make savings on our regular ticket prices.

• For selected performances an allocation of tickets can be purchased at reduced prices by Groups, who also benefit from extended payment terms. For more information email group.bookings@ royalandderngate.co.uk or call 01604 620066

• Our Subscribe & Save packages offer reduced prices when booking for three or more shows – details on page 2.

• Only one discount can be applied per ticket and all discounts are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.

• When booking performances that allow free entry for babies-in-arms, please inform Box Office how many you will be bringing. Age limits for free babies-inarms tickets can vary.

TICKET DELIVERY

Tickets can be sent electronically free of charge and may be printed at home or displayed on a smart phone upon entry. There is a £3 fee applicable to post your tickets to a UK address. We recommend that we do not post any tickets booked within 10 days of the performance, and instead will hold them at the Box Office for collection

and a £1 fee applies for this service.

TRANSACTION FEE

A non-refundable transaction charge of £4 applies to all bookings of £20 and over, except for Members, Access Patrons and Group Bookers. This charge is only applicable per transaction and not per ticket. The transaction charge exists to support the running costs of Royal & Derngate.

As ticket revenue is divided between many different parties, an increase in ticket prices may not necessarily benefit the theatre. By adding a transaction charge, we ensure that every penny goes directly to Royal & Derngate. We will continue to tell you about these charges when you book tickets with us.

CONDITIONS OF SALE

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable except where a show is cancelled or postponed. Ticket exchanges may be offered for the same production on payment of a small per ticket fee. For sold out shows we will accept returned tickets for re-sale up to 24 hours prior on the understanding that a gift voucher (less transaction fees) will be provided if the tickets are re-sold. Any tickets found to be sold via an unauthorised agent may be void without refund and the ticket holder refused entry.

When booking, customers now have the option to add refund protection to their tickets via a third-party provider, Booking Protect. This protects your ticket should you be unable to attend a show for reasons outside of your control such as illness. Please visit our website for full details on our conditions of sale.

STAYING IN TOUCH

Our Box Office and website will ask when you book if you wish to receive further information from us about Royal & Derngate’s events and activities. We will record your wishes and use them to inform what you receive from us in future. You can update these preferences at any time by accessing your account via our website or by calling Box Office.
