There is a reason so many couples continue to choose New Mexico to start the next chapter of their lives: the landscape is striking, the culture is rich and the sense of place is unlike anywhere else. A wedding here isn’t just about the setting — it’s about connection: to community, to tradition and to the beauty of the unexpected. It carries a special, quiet sense of wonder.
In this issue, we dive into what it really means to plan a wedding in New Mexico through every season. From the fresh blooms of spring to the crisp mountain air of fall and all the moments in between, each time of year offers its own opportunities and challenges. We’ve gone straight to the source, working with local planner, Just Lovely Events, to put together a guide full of insights to help couples plan with confidence.
I’m also excited to share a stunning styled shoot set against the backdrop of an old movie set— an iconic piece of New Mexico’s history that brings a unique blend of old cinematic charm and southwestern character. The shoot captures how to bring together vintage and contemporary styles in a refined vision.
As always, we are privileged to feature couples who have embraced New Mexico’s unique rhythm in their weddings. Their stories and advice, I hope, inspire you to create a day that feels truly yours.
Happy planning!

For a timelessly spectacular wedding, think Red River. You won’t find a more intimate setting or friendlier people who have big ideas for your big day. Give us a call. Let’s get planning.
Karli and Zico first met in San Antonio, Texas, where Karli was going to school. When Zico’s professional soccer career brought him to town, the pair was introduced via a mutual friend. The two quickly became inseparable and just three months into dating, Karli made the move to New Mexico to support Zico’s career. “I told him if I moved for him, he better be confident in marrying me,” she joked. Sure enough, after almost two years of dating, Zico proposed in the most romantic way. Under the guise of attending an art exhibit at Hotel Chaco, Zico led Karli to a private suite filled with roses, candles and champagne. There, on a balcony with a view, Zico got down on one knee and asked Karli to marry him.
Brooke and Luke first met at Florida State University in 2015, where their conversation led to an exchange of phone numbers, but nothing more. It wasn’t until six years later that fate brought them back together at a mutual friend’s wedding in Boulder, Colorado. Brooke was the photographer, and Luke was in the wedding party. “We closed the speakeasy down talking about everything and anything,” Brooke shared. “Two weeks later, Luke flew to Nashville, Tennessee, where I lived, and we officially started dating long distance.” Three years later, Luke planned the perfect proposal during a quiet morning while they were camping. “We had just finished breakfast, throwing the ball for our golden retriever in a field overlooking the mountains, sipping coffee and having one of those deep, meaningful conversations about life,” Brooke recalled. “Then, out of nowhere, Luke got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.” Moments later, their families emerged from the woods to surprise them with champagne, making the moment truly unforgettable.
Whether you’ve been dreaming of this wedding since you were little or you have barely thought about it since getting engaged, we gotchu! The two of you want a wedding where your guests will get a top notch experience while creating loving memories with family and friends, and we’re here for it! Let us help guide you step by step with planning your important day.

Although Celeste and Tanner grew up just 45 minutes apart in southern New Mexico, they wouldn’t end up meeting until college at New Mexico Tech. The two first developed a friendship before they found themselves working side by side in the same engineering office at Los Alamos National Labs. It was during this time together that their friendship evolved into something much more meaningful. After a year of dating, Tanner planned a hike to McCauley Hot Springs in the Jemez National Forest, one of the couple’s favorite ways to spend time together. After two miles of forest trail, they arrived at a secluded, bright blue spring where they settled into the warmth and shared a deeply emotional conversation about their future. “As our hearts opened fully to one another, Tanner gently held me close and quietly asked me to be his wife,” Celeste shared. “Without hesitation, I said ‘Yes,’ forever marking where our next chapter began.”
Jessica and Antonio met through a mutual friend, Patricia, someone they refer to as their guardian angel. After dating for three years, Antonio proposed on a snowy night in Nashville, Tennesse, while celebrating Jessica’s birthday. The pair spent the next year and a half planning a destination wedding in Italy surrounded by an intimate group of family and friends. Back home in Albuquerque, they hosted a larger celebration for nearly 100 guests at Marble Brewery. “Our first few dates revolved around cold beers and conversation,” Jessica shared. “A brewery just made perfect sense.” With a focus on having a good time, Jessica opted for a timeless wedding gown complete with a structured sweetheart neckline, full pleated skirt and a sweeping train that moved beautifully with every step. Meanwhile, Antonio kept it cool in a classic tux, swapping dress shoes for PF Flyers. Later, he traded slacks for shorts and a bolo tie for the ultimate second-look twist. The laid-back reception featured a vibrant grazing table by Enchanted Grazing, pizza for a late-night bite and a rooftop full of mingling guests.

One of the most beautiful aspects of getting married in New Mexico is experiencing all four seasons in one unforgettable setting. From fresh spring blooms and golden fall foliage to snowy winter scenes and sun-drenched summer evenings, each season offers something special for couples planning their big day. With that variety, however, comes the need for thoughtful preparation. New Mexico’s weather can be unpredictable, so having a backup plan for the elements is essential. Major events like Albuquerque’s International Balloon Fiesta can impact accommodations and travel, while higher elevations in Santa Fe or Taos may require guests to adjust to the altitude. We teamed up with New Mexico wedding planner Lauren, of Just Lovely Wedding & Event Planning, to share her insights for celebrating in every season, including expert tips to keep your day as seamless and stunning as the landscape.

There’s something refreshing about spring in New Mexico. Wildflowers begin to bloom, the air feels crisp and the desert slowly comes back to life. That said, spring is also known for keeping couples on their toes. Wind, rain and cooler temperatures are all possible, making a solid weather backup plan a must. Whether you opt for an indoor venue or a tent with sidewalls, having coverage will protect both your guests and the carefully styled details of your day. For outdoor celebrations, consider design elements that can withstand the breeze, like tile name cards or weighted table decor. Cleartop tents are not recommended later in the season, as they can trap heat even on mild days. With a little flexibility, spring weddings in New Mexico can feel fresh, intimate and incredibly charming.
May 5th:
joe & isaac tied the knot on a sun-drenched spring day at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm, surrounded by fragrant blooms, historic adobe architecture and the soft green hues of the season. After long Colorado winters, spring in New Mexico felt like a breath of fresh air, exactly the kind of setting they had dreamed of. With the ability to host every part of their celebration outdoors, it was the perfect canvas for a day rooted in love, intention and personal style. Dressed in matching white tuxedo jackets, the grooms stood beneath a beautiful ceremony arch blooming with ivory roses, a design inspired by the Statue of Liberty’s crown. Every detail, from their custom copper rings to the presence of their stylish pup, reflected who they are and what matters most. With the landscape coming to life and a warm breeze rolling through the lavender fields, spring provided the perfect backdrop for their love story.

• Have an indoor or tented weather backup with sidewalls
• Use weighted elements like tiles or stones to secure decor
• Avoid clear top tents from mid-May through the rest of the summer
• Offer guest comfort items such as blankets or pashminas
• Keep umbrellas and heaters on hand for unexpected weather
Long, golden evenings and vibrant skies make summer weddings in New Mexico feel like a dream. But with daytime temperatures often soaring into the 90s, comfort becomes just as important as style. Early ceremonies or late-afternoon timelines can help you avoid the heat of the day, and venues with both shaded outdoor areas and indoor flexibility are ideal. Rain showers can roll in quickly, so covered spaces provide peace of mind. For your guests, details like parasols, handheld fans, water stations and sunscreen show thoughtfulness while enhancing the overall experience. With the right timing and a little extra planning, summer weddings in the Land of Enchantment are filled with warmth, light and celebration.
courtney & chance hosted a garden-inspired wedding on a warm August evening in Albuquerque. With many guests traveling in from out of town, they wanted to showcase the best of their home state and knew that summer’s golden light and bold landscapes would provide the perfect setting. The National Hispanic Cultural Center, with its striking architecture and spacious layout, offered an ideal flow for their 230-person wedding, from a tree-lined ceremony to dinner beneath a tented canopy and dancing under the stars. A vibrant palette of bright pastels and whimsical florals by Floriography brought a fresh energy to the desert surroundings, while thoughtful fashion choices, including a breezy tulle gown for Courtney and a lightweight suit for Chance, kept things stylish and comfortable in the heat. One of their favorite memories? Stealing a quiet moment together after the ceremony to soak it all in. For couples planning a summer wedding in New Mexico, they recommend having a weather backup in place, just in case a quick summer sprinkle rolls in.

Autumn in New Mexico was made for weddings. The weather is mild, the sunsets are rich with color and the surrounding landscapes shift into a palette of deep reds, golds and rust tones. It’s no surprise that fall is one of the most popular seasons to tie the knot here, which means couples should plan early to secure their dream vendors and venue. Cooler evenings can be cozy with the addition of blankets, firepits or warm signature cocktails. Clear-top tents become an option again as the temperatures drop, and heaters ensure guests stay comfortable well into the night. While rare, snow can make a surprise appearance as early as October, so checking the forecast and having a weather plan will keep your day stress-free. For couples dreaming of a romantic, colorful celebration, fall in New Mexico is tough to beat. band kept the party going well into the night.
October 12th:
sophie & david chose to say “I do” in the heart of fall, a season that transforms Santa Fe into a canvas of golden light and deep desert hues. With Sophie’s background in architecture, the couple was drawn to the harmony between place and experience, something the high desert offers abundantly during October. Their venue, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, located in the foothills of the Jemez Mountains, provided an artful blend of natural beauty and refined hospitality. Inspired by the vibrant colors of autumn, the celebration was layered with bold florals, tactile textures and whimsical moments that echoed the landscape. Deep pinks, burnt amber and terracotta played against grounding shades of olive and soft blue, creating a palette that felt both joyful and timeless. The menu, curated by the venue’s culinary team, featured comforting dishes that were both seasonally inspired and reflective of the region, meals their guests still talk about to this day. For couples planning a fall wedding in New Mexico, Sophie recommends leaning into the magic of the season and surrounding yourself with a vendor team who understands how to elevate it all.

• Book vendors and venues early, as fall is in high-demand
• Use tents with heaters and sidewalls for chilly nights
• Keep cozy details like pashminas and firepits for guests
• Clear-top tents work well in cooler weather
• Watch for the possibility of early snow or rain
There’s something magical about a winter wedding in New Mexico. Snow-covered mesas, candlelit receptions and crisp desert air set the scene for a celebration that feels intimate and elevated. While snowfall isn’t guaranteed, it’s always a possibility, especially in the mountains, so it’s important to think through logistics early. Outdoor ceremonies are best timed earlier in the day to take advantage of natural light and warmth, while receptions should be held indoors or in heated tents for maximum guest comfort. With shorter days, timelines may shift, but early sunsets bring beautiful opportunities for golden hour portraits and cozy evening celebrations. Add touches like hot cocoa stations, hand warmers and blankets to create a day that’s as welcoming as it is wintry.
November 11th:
lauren & michael embraced the magic of winter in the mountains for their wedding at Stakeout Taos, leaning into the moody, romantic beauty of the season. With crisp blue skies, bare trees and golden desert light, the setting felt serene and cinematic. It was exactly the kind of atmosphere they had hoped for when planning a celebration in Lauren’s home state. Their day blended rich traditions with personal style, from the velvet bridesmaid gowns in jewel-toned hues to the bride’s high-neck lace gown, which added a timeless touch to the seasonally inspired look. A fiery-toned bouquet, warm ceremony lighting and textured florals brought warmth to the cool landscape, while guests cozied up with shawls and heaters beneath the clear Taos sky. Winter in New Mexico may be quiet, but their celebration was anything but.

Blaire and Max met in Kindergarten and grew up attending the same schools from grade school through high school, always hanging out in the same friend groups. It wasn’t until they both chose to attend the University of Texas that their longtime friendship evolved into something more. During their freshman year, amidst all the excitement of new beginnings, their connection felt like home, Blaire described. Around Christmastime, they started dating, and exactly six years later, Max planned a surprise proposal in Fort Worth, Texas. What Blaire thought was a casual night out to see their favorite band turned into a moment she’d never forget. While grabbing a drink at the Hotel Drover, Max suggested a quick walk. As he dropped to one knee, nearly fumbling the ring in the process, he asked Blaire to marry him. With a heartfelt speech, tears and their families waiting to celebrate, Blaire said “Yes!” And, to her surprise, there was never a concert planned, just a perfectly orchestrated engagement.
Blaire and Max planned a vibrant summer celebration in Santa Fe, a place that held special meaning for both of their families. “Everything about the feeling of Santa Fe made a wedding make sense, not to mention Max grew up going to his godparents’ home for months at a time right outside of downtown Santa Fe. We escaped the Dallas, Texas, heat in August for a place that will always make us feel the spark of Santa Fe,” Blaire shared. For the wedding, Blaire wore a timeless Anne Barge gown paired with Jimmy Choo kitten heels featuring rattan texture and pearl detailing that echoed her custom earrings, gold milagro hearts engraved with “M&B” and a dangling antique pearl made by her mom. The ceremony took place in the sunlit courtyard of La Posada de Santa Fe, where layers of ivory blooms framed a custom altar and her soon-to-be husband, Max, whispered to his bride throughout, drawing cheerful tears and laughter as guests looked on. The reception was a celebration of color and texture, blending adobe tones with pops of coral, dusty blue and soft peach. From hand-drawn invitations to woven chargers, custom papel picado and vibrant floral installations by Floriography, every detail added a burst of spring to the courtyard. And as the evening came to a close, guests lit up the dance floor to live music with glowing chili ristra necklaces and personalized bandanas designed by Blaire’s mom.

Sometimes, fate has a way of bringing two people together, twice. On Saint Patrick’s Day in 2019, Carrie and Gregg met at Flower Shop, a bar in New York, where a casual chat about tennis led to Carrie giving Gregg her number. But as the night went on, his texts went unanswered. The next day, completely unaware of each other’s plans, they both ended up at Hanoi House for pho. “I was sitting at the bar with my friends, and he was right behind me the whole time without either of us realizing it,” Carrie laughed. Hours later, she finally responded to his messages, and just like that, their love story began. A few years later, Gregg planned a proposal as unexpected as their first meeting. Carrie recalls “Gregg proposed in Sicily, on a boat—which sounds romantic, and it was, but only after a series of very chaotic events. We had designed the ring together and picked out the stone months before, but then… nothing. No updates, no hints. I had fully convinced myself it might not happen anytime soon—if ever. So when we planned a trip to Tuscany for a friend’s wedding, I had a tiny suspicion something might be coming… especially since Gregg was bizarrely committed to organizing a boat day despite terrible weather. Windy, choppy, stormy—the kind of conditions where four different tour operators canceled on us because they didn’t think it was safe. Gregg would not take the hint. He was on a mission. We finally found someone willing to take us out, and by 10 a.m., he was popping champagne. At that point, I started to realize something was up. Then we pulled in front of the ‘Love Cave’—yes, that’s what it’s actually called—and I immediately made fun of the name. And then… he proposed. I blacked out somewhere between ‘Love Cave’ and him getting down on one knee. But I said ‘Yes.’”

Lauren Waller, our wedding planner, just made our day absolutely exceptional.
Drawn not only by family ties but also the city’s rich culture, history, and, let’s not forget, the prickly pear margaritas and food laden with spicy green chile, Carrie and Gregg knew Santa Fe was the perfect place for their wedding weekend. Set against the enchanting backdrop of Four Seasons Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, their day was the perfect mix of modern romance and Southwestern charm. From the moment guests arrived, the celebration felt like a love letter to the region. Think rich adobe hues, lush desert floral and a tequila donkey named Rosalita to kick off the party.
For the ceremony, Carrie stunned in a structured Chosen by KYHA gown featuring soft lace detailing, while Gregg stepped out of his comfort zone in rust-colored pants, adding the perfect pop of color against the desert landscape. As golden light spilled across the mountains, they exchanged handwritten vows beneath a floral-adorned arch. The celebration continued with tablescapes covered in earthy-toned blooms and a dance floor brought to life by the Diamond Empire Band. But the most unforgettable moment? Stepping away from the reception for a quiet, rainsoaked photoshoot on the mountain, just the two of them, in front of a breathtaking double rainbow. “Gregg was so worried about the rain all day, but it brought this true miracle, and in the end, it all worked out,” Carrie shared.
“Exchange personal vows and be patient with each other, enjoy the process and soak in all the love!”

Both working as cycling guides for Backroads, an active travel company, Emily and Chris first met at a company party in Puglia, Italy. A year later, fate brought them both to Denver, Colorado, where they reconnected through a mutual friend. With Emily having grown up in Boulder and Chris having attended Colorado College, the city became a natural home base for their adventures. For their first date, Chris took Emily to see the Christmas lights at the Denver Botanic Gardens. When the time came to propose, Chris stayed true to their shared passions. On a crisp fall day, he planned a bike ride from their Denver home to the Chatfield Botanic Gardens, packing a mini bottle of champagne and the ring. Stopping at a secluded sunny spot along the Platte River, he got down on one knee asking Emily to be his forever.

So hard to pick just one! I adored my wedding dress, ceremony shoes and my veil. One of the most special things wasn’t something I bought, but my grandmother, who spent a lot of time in Taos and had amazing Southwest taste, had given me a set of her Navajo pearls. I got them cleaned and surprised my mom with them on the day of the wedding for her to wear. I loved being able to feel like she was there with us.

Penny Layne Creative, our planner, was amazing and pulled together so many wonderful small details that made the day feel so well run and special. She and her team are absolute professionals. Layne’s team also does in-house graphic design, so every single element of the weekend tied together perfectly.
Our photographer, Coryn Kiefer, was outstanding to work with. I wanted someone from New Mexico who understood desert lighting, and who had an artistic, cinematic eye. She made us feel so comfortable and she captured so many wonderful moments throughout the weekend. She even let us turn the camera around on her and get a photography team selfie. We absolutely loved working with her and would recommend her time and time again.
Elly Schott has been my hair stylist in Denver, Colorado, for the last eight years and the only person who has ever successfully gotten my hair to hold a curl. Naturally, she was the only person I even considered asking to do my hair for my wedding weekend and I’m so grateful that she was there.
Liz Wegrzyn was our makeup artist and she is one of my favorite vendors from the day. Not only is she an absolute magician with a makeup brush, but she has the most calming energy. On the day of the wedding, I got ready with my mom, maid of honor and mother in law and she made each of us feel so cared for and calm. My makeup on the day was exactly what I had imagined - soft, natural and perfectly bridal.
With their background in guiding group trips, Emily and Chris planned a three-day adventure for their friends and family, complete with karaoke, a group hike to the gorge, a welcome party in the heart of town, swimming in the Rio Grande and of course, a celebration at The Stakeout. The location held an even deeper meaning for Emily, whose grandparents once had a small ranch just 45 minutes from Taos. “It felt like we were including them in a small way,” she shared. Emily and Chris brought their desert oasis vision to life with bold florals and a fresh, modern aesthetic. For the ceremony, guests made their way down a winding path to an intimate clearing, where rows of wooden chairs blended seamlessly into the high desert landscape. The pair exchanged vows on a natural wood stage framed by wild, textural florals, with soft grasses and delicate blooms adding a sense of untamed romance. Emily stunned in a chic strapless Ines Di Santo gown paired with a custom lace-lined veil made in Barcelona, Spain, while Chris kept it timeless in a black tux. And just when you thought the party couldn’t get any better, Emily slipped into a shimmering blue Retrofête dress, ready to dance the night away in style.
“Don’t lose sight of the things that are important to you. There are so many decisions to make and different viewpoints to balance that it can be challenging if you don’t have a strong grasp on the things that really matter to you. The rest will fall into place.”

Hannah and Teo met at a Christmas party, but it took nearly a year, and a little fate, before their first date. Three years later, Teo proposed during a walk along the beach in Del Mar, California, with the waves crashing behind them on the Forth of July. When it came time to plan their wedding, they chose to marry at San Felipe de Neri in Old Town Albuquerque, a church rich in history and significance for Teo’s family. Hannah stunned in a strapless satin Jenny Yoo gown, complete with a dramatic bow and pearldetailed accessories, while Teo looked timeless in a classic black tux and his signature gold Casio watch. After becoming husband and wife, Hannah and Teo joined their guests for an elegant reception at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town featuring a blackand-white aesthetic. Hannah shares that the highlight of her night was Teo’s heartfelt speech to her, a moment she’ll cherish forever.

Marina and Kevin met with a double match on two different dating apps. Kevin had separate profiles: a “bad boy” version featuring only sunglasses-clad photos and a “nice guy” profile with an elaborate bio and a warm smile. “I made sure to message him on the nice one so he knew I was serious,” Marina laughed. Instead of the usual small talk, Kevin asked about her career in user experience design, sparking a conversation that felt refreshing and effortless. Their first date started at Dig Inn, a restaurant near Marina’s apartment in New York City, New York, followed by a visit to the Cooper Hewitt Museum, where they kissed in every room, before strolling through Central Park and ending the night with Korean BBQ. “From there, the date lasted two more days, and we both knew we had found someone really special.” Two years later, Kevin proposed on a whim during a trip to Telluride, Colorado, to check out the beautiful fall foliage.

What was your favorite moment of the day
When I was told things were starting to go wrong with the weather, my family and wedding party rallied and got everyone to sing Karaoke.
I learned that my dad does a pretty decent Johnny Cash and my cousins brought the house down with “Hit Me Baby One More Time.” I was also blown away by the amount of people that braved the muddy back roads and showed up in their western best. We felt so loved.
Kevin would say that his favorite part of the day was venturing out during the storm with various groomsmen.
We also loved hearing stories from the guests who couldn’t make it. We heard those folks went out in Santa Fe and knowing that Karaoke was my favorite activity, dedicated songs to us in bars all over town.
VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND
Our wedding planner, Lauren Waller, of Just Lovely Wedding & Event Design, was absolutely fantastic! Even though we had only hired her for month-of coordination, she went above and beyond. Even starting a month early to make sure everything was organized and ready to go beforehand, and then made sure everything ran as smoothly as it could on the day. She was an effective problem solver and as things went wrong with the weather she came up with plan b’s, c’s and even d’s to keep the day on track. I could not have asked for a more professional and wonderful person to work with!
Marina and Kevin planned a black-tie Western wedding for 100 friends and family at Blame Her Ranch, where sweeping desert views set the scene for a weekend of celebration. “Standing there, looking out at the mountains and all the people we love, it was surreal,” Kevin shared. Marina wore a custom Pnina Tornai gown from Kleinfeld Bridal, paired with white cowboy boots for a chic Western touch, while Kevin embraced the Southwestern aesthetic in a tailored suit, Lucchese boots and a coral Vernon Haskie bolo tie. After the ceremony, guests dined on a menu infused with New Mexican flavors, including arroz verde, red chile tamales, calabacitas and plenty of green chile. And, as the sun set, the dance floor erupted with energy thanks to Desert Disco. “I have this amazing memory of my mom in a light-up cowboy hat, dancing her ass off while holding giant heads of our pets, Muffin and Indy,” Marina laughed. And when it came time for the after-party, she slipped into a sparkly Show Me Your Mumu dress, ready to close out the night in style.
“Have a backup plan and then a backup, backup plan. As everything started to go wrong, we didn’t blame each other, we held onto each other and decided to make the most of the day with the people that made it. It wasn’t what we planned, but it sure was a good time.”

Kim and Mark met while working at a bustling restaurant in West Hollywood, California, he was the Sous Chef, and she was behind the bar mixing drinks. Sparks flew behind the scenes, but the couple kept their budding romance under wraps, with only one trusted coworker in on the secret. After four years together, Mark proposed during a hike to Amir’s Garden, a tuckedaway spot near the Griffith Observatory that overlooks the sweeping cityscape of Los Angeles.
Kim and Mark planned a high desert surrealisminspired wedding with 75 of their closest friends and family in attendance. The couple chose New Mexico, a place where Mark was raised and where Kim’s family has spent countless summers, as the destination for their intimate day. For their wedding day fashion, their choices were effortlessly cool. Mark donned all black with a leather blazer, wide-brim hat and bolo tie, while Kim wore a minimal white dress paired with a celestial-embroidered veil and heirloom jewelry. With hospitality roots, culinary creativity took center stage during the reception. The couple designed a menu rooted in traditional New Mexican cuisine, curated a wine list of organic, low-intervention bottles and even crafted all the cocktails and garnishes themselves, complete with custom clear ice. Every detail of the day had a story including the handmade signage sourced from flea markets to the olive oil and yuzu cake, combining ingredients that honored both Mark’s upbringing and Kim’s Japanese heritage. As live music performed by their friends and family filled the space, the couple shared, “Our favorite moment was sitting at our table looking at all of our friends and family talking, laughing and enjoying the evening together.”

Our photographer, Amanda Powell (Adrift a Dream Photography), was a joy to have at our wedding and beautifully captured the vibe and special moments both on 35mm film and digital.
Our caterer, Casa Nova Custom Catering, went above and beyond to accommodate our requests for a custom dinner menu and tableware, and their staff delivered top notch hospitality service.
Our cake baker, Sarah from Crumb Girl Sweets, took extra care to incorporate personal details that were important to us in our wedding cake.
The team at Kelly Liquor Barn worked closely with us and the distributors to source the specialty wine we wanted at our wedding.
And of course, Charlene Carroll, from the New Mexico Museum of Art, was always helpful and available to answer our questions.
“Our advice is to have as much fun as you can planning the wedding and enjoying the big day! Ultimately that is what is important, and what you will remember.”

Kristin and Davis met with the swipe of a finger on the dating app, Bumble. Although, fate had a little surprise in store for them. Unbeknownst to them, they were already neighbors, living in the same apartment building in Chicago, Illinois. Their first date went so well that they ended up sharing an Uber home, and Davis sweetly walked Kristin to her floor before heading up to his own. During the next few years, they grew closer and after four years of dating, Davis proposed on a scenic hike along the North and Middle Fork Confluence of the American River in Auburn, California. With Davis’ brother and sister-in-law tagging along to capture the moment, and carrying a bottle of Champagne in their backpack, they celebrated with a riverside toast.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Caterer, Dig & Serve. The owner Brandon is so kind, creative and on top of everything. Planning the menu was a fun experience. He made it very personal like asking us what favorite foods were as well as what we didn’t like and then made a personalized menu just for us. He went all out on décor, coordinating all the finer details for the day of our elopement and prepared the most delicious meal we’ve ever had.
Photographer, Alicia Lucia Collective. Working with their coordinator, Lindsay, over the course of the year made the process easy and stress free. She is as sweet as can be as well as prompt and professional. On the day of the elopement, their coordinator Lindsay and photographer Molly made us feel at ease and allowed us to enjoy each moment as they captured the magic of the day. As with most couples, the day was a blur; looking back at the photos, we are blessed to relive those precious memories that we will treasure forever.
Venue owner, Casita de Arrebol. Courtney & Shaun are a lovely couple who own the Casita de Arrebol. It is a vacation rental retreat on 50+ acres of land which served as our lodging and venue for our wedding. Courtney and Shaun were incredibly welcoming and supportive throughout the entire planning process. They went above and beyond in so many ways. We will forever be grateful for their hospitality and generosity.
Hair & make up, A. Salon Santa Fe. I am someone who considers myself cosmetically challenged and I loved the confidence and reassurance Alana from A. Salon Santa Fe provided in guiding the perfect look for our wedding day. She even gave life changing beauty tips leading up to the wedding that made all the difference and continues to use.
Floral arrangements, Manmade & Sage. We did not want to go too crazy on florals. Admittedly we gave Amanda very little direction. Yet, she blew us away with her vision and professional crafting.
Sofia Kaman, We attended a pop up together that Sofia Kaman was hosting in Chicago. We were their very last appointment for the night but were still greeted with a ton of enthusiasm and guidance from the Sofia Kaman team members. Their stylist, Lisa, helped give Kristin confidence in following her heart with a marquise cut diamond and encouraged us to help them finish off a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Then while based in California, Lisa helped Davis every step of the way when designing and ordering Kristin’s dream ring while getting it to him on time for the proposal.
Kristin and Davis planned an intimate elopement with just the two of them and two guests, Davis’ brother and sister-in-law. They chose the breathtaking setting of Casita de Arrebol, a private retreat tucked into more than 50 acres of high desert landscape, for both their lodging and ceremony. Wanting a peaceful and personal experience, the couple spent the day fully present, exchanging vows under clear blue skies, savoring a custom dinner prepared by Dig & Serve and watching the sun dip behind the cliffs and mountains. Their reception was a cozy celebration including handcrafted mocktails, a blueberry lemon lavender cake and a fireside evening under the stars.

Rachel and Natalie met in Washington, D.C., Rachel was in law school and Natalie was working as an attorney. Their connection sparked quickly and eventually, the duo made their way to San Fransisco, California, with their Italian Greyhound in tow. Two years later, on a freezing Christmas weekend in New York City, New York filled with unexpected hiccups including a delayed train, a canceled hotel reservation and a called-off Broadway show, Natalie planned to propose. Despite the chaos, she found the perfect moment to pop the question at their hotel, catching Rachel completely by surprise.
With the help of wedding planner, Orange September, Rachel and Natalie planned a laid-back and elegant wedding that embraced the natural beauty of Santa Fe. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, their celebration felt more like an intimate dinner party than a traditional wedding. Even a surprise thunderstorm, complete with wind, rain, hail and a double rainbow during the ceremony, couldn’t shake the joy of the day. Instead, it became one of the most unforgettable moments with tears and laughter mingling with raindrops as guests huddled under umbrellas handed out by the quickthinking Four Seasons team. After the ceremony, Rachel and Natalie exchanged their vows privately, then snuck away into the hills to capture photos of just the two of them. With storm clouds rolling behind them and a breathtaking sunset stretching out ahead, the moment felt like a dream, Natalie shared. The newlyweds then rejoined their guests on the dance floor and indulged in their favorite Berry Chantilly Cake.

Vicki from Orange September understood our vague vision and was able to bring it to life better than we could have ever imagined. She has exquisite taste and gives the best advice about how to approach planning your wedding. She made our wedding feel romantic, intimate, and beautiful, both rooted in New Mexico and also encompassing our personalities and families.
“Be true to yourselves through the planning process. Not everything needs to be ‘picture perfect.’ For example, when determining where to spend our budget, we realized things that would look amazing in photos, but wouldn’t necessarily be remember by our guests, were less important to us. As such, rather than going overboard on flowers, Melissa from Renegade Floral was able make smaller, yet elegant and artistic floral arrangements for us from wildflowers, that better fit our vision and budget. And even though there are so many amazing bakers who make exquisite cakes, we have both loved the Berry Chantilly Cake from Whole Foods for so long that we couldn’t imagine serving anything else.”

Alice and Jeff met at a dive bar, The Thirsty Crow, in Silverlake, California, in March of 2020. The two quickly hit it off as Jeff shared stories and photos of his solo outdoor adventures, including a hike to the summit of Mt. Whitney, that captivated Alice’s imagination. It didn’t take long for them to start dating, and when the world shut down shortly after, they took full advantage by roadtripping and backpacking through Utah, Nevada, California and eventually Wyoming, where they would go on to build a life together. Rather than a traditional proposal, their engagement unfolded naturally. It began with a surprise visit to Alice’s parents in Chicago, Illinois, champagne in hand and smiles all around as they shared the news. A few weeks later, Jeff’s mom, Tullie, offered Alice her wedding ring, a gesture Alice happily accepted to symbolize their commitment to one another.
When it came time to say “I do,” Los Poblanos felt like the perfect fit. With its lavender fields, charming alpacas and peacocks, the property offered the playful, summer-campmeets-art-retreat vibe the couple was after. The design vision, executed by Floriography, was both bold and unexpected. Vibrant citrus fruits mingled with fresh florals and whimsical vintage details, bringing a sense of humor and imagination to the entire event. The tablescapes were a true visual feast: yellow patterned linens, sculptural arrangements bursting with poppies and peonies, fruit place cards, and vintage-style oilcloth elements paired with blue napkins and delicate menus. Their fashion choices echoed the playful spirit of the design. Alice wore a jaw-dropping 1970s sequin gown from Happy Isles for the ceremony and later changed into a vintage fringe dress and ballet slippers for dancing. Meanwhile, Jeff scooped up some looks in Denver, Colorado, on their drive down from Wyoming just days before the wedding weekend. To end the evening on a sweet note, guests indulged in a cake adorned with bright slices of lemon, lime and ruby red grapefruit.

Magda and Kyle met during their senior year of high school in Albuquerque. Though they went to different schools, their friend groups crossed paths after the Balloon Fiesta glow, where they snuck into the old Rail Yards downtown. It was the boys’ idea, of course. After briefly losing touch, the two reconnected a few summers later thanks to Kyle’s new puppy, Izzy. After four years together, on what Magda thought was a typical summer fly fishing trip to Valle Vidal, a stunning stretch of wilderness in the southern Rockies, Kyle set up his camera, pressed record and got down on one knee beside the river. In his hands was a custom fly box inlaid with turquoise that read “Will you…?” Inside was the ring.
Magda and Kyle planned a rustic-whimsical celebration at Log River Ranch, a riverside property that reflected their shared love of the outdoors. With cottonwood trees lining the ceremony space and the Chama River flowing nearby, it was the perfect setting for their vows. Sunflowers added cheerful pops of yellow throughout the celebration, while the bride’s white Lucchese boots added a fun Western flair to her look. During cocktail hour, guests sipped signature drinks named after their dogs: “The Izzy” a Vanilla Crown & Coke, “The Bea Margarita” and “The Valle Elderflower Gin & Tonic.” As the sun set behind the trees, Magda changed into a short reception dress to show off her boots and twirl on the dance floor as the DJ and country band kept the party going well into the night.

Everybody from our photographer, DJ, band, florist, day-of coordinator and caterer went above and beyond to make our day so special. We do have to give a special shout-out to our caterers - Walter Burke, based in Santa Fe. The original caterer that we had reserved and paid for canceled on us two weeks before the wedding and it was a scramble to find a replacement. Karlee Phippen, our wedding coordinator at Log River Ranch, was incredible at finding options for us within an hour of hearing the news. Walter Burke was willing to work with our previously set menu and they put everything together flawlessly even with the super short notice... AND the food was AMAZING.

Set against the sun-soaked backdrop of Mortenson’s Eaves Movie Ranch in Santa Fe, this styled shoot set out to redefine Western chic. With planning and design by Sunny Side Events, the vision was all about blending “rustic elegance with modern luxury” in a way that felt both elevated and deeply rooted in Southwestern charm. “Every detail, from the structured bridal gown to the refined yet rugged floral arrangements, reflects a seamless fusion of timeless Western influences and contemporary design,” the planner shared.
The invitation suite, designed by Skelley West Design Co + Letterpress, set the tone for the celebration with custom pieces that nodded to the location and overall aesthetic. As the first impression guests receive, the stationery offered a visual preview of the day; organic, bold and refined with just the right amount of edge.
Florals climbed the grand staircase inside Eaves Movie Ranch like they were always meant to be there; cascading arrangements of orchids, lilies,
and foraged vines softened the crisp white woodwork and created a naturally romantic setting for a ceremony or first look. The interior, with its vintage charm and incredible light, set the tone for the moments that followed: a decadent cocktail hour display featuring artfully arranged bites, fresh produce and silver-tiered towers of fruits and sweets, blending Western abundance with European opulence.
The al fresco reception took place right in the middle of the venue’s historic Western town, where a tablescape was framed by vintage storefronts and adobe textures. Designed in a square shape with an open center, the table layout was made to foster conversation, encouraging guests to feel both connected and immersed in the celebration. The palette pulled from the surrounding landscape, combining soft neutrals, warm ochre, golden orchid and sun-baked tones with soft green and terracotta accents. Layers of texture came through in the floral arrangements, which blended dried and fresh elements, garlic bulbs and vine-like botanicals that spilled effortlessly over the table draped in soft linen.
