BEGINNINGS

KAITLYNN + COLBY

Kaitlynn and Colby first met while working at a local coffee shop, where the sparks were brewing long before the lattes were. After a year of making espresso side by side, they finally made it official and have been inseparable ever since. After dating for five years, Colby decided to pop the question during a backpacking trip through Havasupai, Arizona. With a stunning waterfall behind them and Kaitlynn rocking dirty hiking clothes, socks and Chacos, the moment was perfect in every way.
For their engagement session, Kaitlynn and Colby enjoyed a favorite pastime, road-tripping with their pups, Oakley and Olive, to Stanley, where Kaleigh of Mountain Time Photography led them to the dreamiest mountain backdrop. The day captured their love complete with Sawtooth views, tail wags and golden-hour lighting.

AUSTYN + ENEKO

Austyn and Eneko both grew up in Boise and attended the same high school, however, their paths never crossed until a night out years later that led Austyn to meet Eneko’s cousin, Nickolas. Their friend groups merged, and Austyn and Eneko instantly hit it off. But the real twist? “Toward the end of the night when it came time to walk home, we all started going the same way, turns out we had been living just one block apart in the East End of Boise for almost a year!” Austyn recalled. Their daily neighborhood walks soon became something more, and three years later, Eneko planned the perfect proposal at Roosevelt Market, their favorite local spot for coffee, ice cream and long conversations. On a sunny Friday evening, with their chocolate lab, Birdie, by their side, Eneko suggested grabbing a beer on the patio. “I was still in my scrubs from work, completely unsuspecting,” Austyn laughed. “And then, out of nowhere, he got down on one knee with the ring.” After the sweetest surprise, the two headed downtown for a celebratory dinner at The Avery, where champagne was waiting for them to toast to their next adventure.

SIERRA + BLAKE

Sierra and Blake both grew up showing cattle in 4-H at the North Idaho State Fair which is ultimately how the pair ended up meeting. Now the couple runs a small cattle operation alongside family, raising commercial and club calves for their local community. After dating for two years, on Christmas Eve, surrounded by his family, Blake gave Sierra the last gift of the evening, a ring. “When I opened it, I turned around to see Blake on bended knee,” Sierra shared. “His exact words were, ‘Would you give me the greatest gift of all, and marry me?’ I’ve been on cloud nine ever since.”
To celebrate their engagement, the couple chose to take photos in the corrals at Blake’s seventh-generation family farm. “Our love for livestock is where our story began,” Sierra said. “We’ve spent countless hours working side by side in those corrals, and it’s become such a special place for both of us.”

BRITTNEY + JACKSON
ENGAGEMENT & CIVIL CEREMONY - COEUR D’ALENE

Brittney and Jackson first became acquainted with one another in high school when Brittney was friends with his older sister. Eventually, their connection turned into something more. After six years together, Jackson proposed during their annual summer hike to a remote mountain lake, with their Goldendoodle, Luna, by their side. As Jackson set up his phone to capture the moment he asked Brittney to be his wife, they were so wrapped up in each other that they didn’t notice Luna seizing the opportunity to raid Brittney’s backpack, devouring their hiking snacks. Once they returned to their house, hungry and happy, Jackson had one last surprise in store; an engagement party with all of their friends and family present.

With a destination wedding planned for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Brittney and Jackson decided to elope at the Coeur d’Alene Courthouse with just one witness present, Luna. Luna sported a darling bandana made from scraps of Brittney’s grandma’s wedding dress and, of course, signed their marriage license with her paw. To celebrate, the newlyweds walked downtown to their favorite spot, Angelo’s Ristorante, to eat, drink and laugh with their families.

REAL WEDDINGS
MADISON MALTBY

Hayley & Daniel

Hayley and Daniel met while attending The University of California, Los Angeles. The pair ran in the same friend group but didn’t officially start dating until after graduation. Four years later, Daniel knew he wanted to propose and spent months sneaking across the Hudson River to design the perfect ring at Hoboken Gold & Diamonds. His plan? A birthday trip to the Bahamas, where Hayley thought she was simply being treated to a special dinner. As they arrived at the historic Graycliff Hotel, the staff led them down a long staircase into its world-famous wine cellar, where a candlelit table, lush florals and thousands of bottles of aging wine set the scene. “I’ll never forget Hayley’s face. She knew,” Daniel shared. The proposal was nothing short of cinematic, complete with an intimate dinner and a fun fact: Beyoncé and Jay-Z were the only other couple to get engaged in that exact spot.

As they began planning their July 27th wedding, Sun Valley was an obvious choice; it was the mountain town Hayley grew up in, and its natural beauty perfectly complemented their earthy elegance wedding aesthetic. The couple invited 135 of their friends and family to drink, dine and dance for a weekend filled with unforgettable memories. For the ceremony, guests arrived via gondola to The Roundhouse on Bald Mountain, where a mystical, smoky altar set the scene for their vows. Hayley walked down the aisle to a Kacey Musgraves song, taking in the surreal moment of passing by all their favorite people. At the reception, candlelit tablescapes created the dreamiest dinner setting, while Utah Live Bands ensured the dance floor stayed packed all night. And because they couldn’t end the night just yet, the party continued at the local bars in town, making for the perfect Sun Valley send-off.

“Make the wedding planning fun with your partner. We would make martinis on Friday nights and talk through it all.” ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

Hannah & Kyle

Hannah and Kyle first met at church, but it wasn’t long before their shared love of tennis turned friendly matches into something more. After a few months of hanging out, on and off the court, Kyle asked Hannah out on a date, and the rest was history. A year and a half later, he planned a surprise proposal that began with drinks at Bar No. 3 in Houston, Texas, and ended with a candlelit backyard setup filled with white flowers and framed memories from their relationship. “I had started to think maybe something was up while we were getting drinks and that he might be proposing,” Hannah shared, “but when he was so easygoing about pivoting to feed the dog, I was like never mind, it’s not happening because no one is that chill right before a proposal! But when we walked in the house, we had a straight shot view of the backyard through the windows and I could see a proposal setup.” After dropping to one knee, Kyle had one more surprise up his sleeve, an intimate dinner at Tiny’s No. 5 with both of their parents present to celebrate the news.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“The planning process can be as involved as you want it to be - just make sure it reflects your priorities and never loses sight of what it is you’re celebrating - the beginning of a lifelong commitment.”

Hannah and Kyle planned an epic Idaho wedding weekend featuring a scenic hike on Thursday, a Western-themed welcome party on Friday and a cozy send-off brunch on Sunday. “We wanted the ambience to be an experience,” Hannah shared. Their July 27th wedding embraced a romantic garden party aesthetic, with a soft color palette of sage, blush and creamy whites echoed throughout the day. Coise & Co. transformed the private estate into a blooming oasis with lush floral installations featuring a mix of hydrangeas, garden roses, delphinium, lisianthus and soft sprays of greenery. Hannah wore a timeless gown from Renhue styled with a full detachable skirt and a custom lace bolero that added vintage charm. She later removed the overlay for a sleek second look, perfect for dancing the night away under the stars. Bridesmaids wore an eclectic mix of floral dresses that brought the garden theme to life, each one complementing the bride’s bouquet of soft hellebores. The couple exchanged vows in front of sweeping mountain views then gathered with their loved ones for an al fresco dinner beneath the aspens.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Coise & Co. were the most collaborative, responsive and creative florists! Flowers were one of the most important parts of the design for that day and they brought every inch of that dream to life. They have such a good eye! There were wildfires nearby and the smoke tried to dry out the flowers. On top of executing the most beautiful garden flower theme, they sprayed down and watered all the arrangements throughout the afternoon to keep them looking perky and fresh.
And, of course, Peyton Byford captured our day perfectly. We’ll cherish the photos she took forever.

GARDEN
VALLEY - RIVERSIDE RANCH HOUSE
Mallorie & Caleb

What started as a swipe on a dating app quickly turned into something special. As luck would have it, Mallorie was visiting family in Boise, without a car and staying at her parents’ house. “So, Caleb had to do something that’s become almost old-fashioned: pick me up for a date at my parents’ house.” That first night, their connection was instant, and despite living across the country from each other, the distance didn’t stand a chance. “Every night, we’d sit on our own front porches, me in Houston, Texas, him in Boise, talking for hours. It felt like we were sharing the same space under the same sky,” Mallorie shared.
After six years together, Caleb planned a proposal as heartfelt as it was unforgettable. While celebrating the Day of the Dead in Oaxaca, Mexico, Caleb led Mallorie on a horseback ride through marigold fields, where a picnic and a “Will you marry me?” sign awaited. Overwhelmed with emotion, she said, “Yes!” and the two spent the evening celebrating with Oaxacan cuisine and a toast to forever.
Mallorie and Caleb planned a retro, colorful, weekend-long celebration with 100 of their favorite people in Garden Valley. Despite wildfires nearly forcing a relocation of their August 31st wedding, their guests showed up in full force, determined to celebrate. The ceremony took place among towering ponderosa pines, with a custom-built altar framing the landscape. Mallorie, who wanted an old-Hollywood look, stunned in a silk Reformation gown, while Caleb opted for an effortlessly cool linen suit and huaraches they found in Oaxaca. At the reception, candlelit tablescapes with orange tulips and sculptural candles set the scene for heartfelt toasts before the dance floor erupted into a full-fledged techno party. The celebration was still in full swing when the rental company arrived at 1:00 a.m. to pack up, proof that the night was truly unforgettable.

We had a lot of fun buying and preparing welcome baskets for the weekenders. We bought small items to make a weekend survival kit; earplugs, sunscreen, deodorant wipes, etc. We made homemade sangria that we bottled into flip-top bottles and paired with cute drinking glasses. Caleb made a welcome booklet that included tips for enjoying the area, fun facts about the area and venue and helpful suggestions for the weekend.
Since we didn’t have a traditional wedding party, this was a fun way to show some extra love and appreciation to our friends and family.

Our cake decorators, Ken and Mariah of Country Homestead Bakery, also did a fantastic job and we got so many compliments about our cakes.
Our bartender, Ryan Buddenbohm, took so much time crafting the perfect cocktail menu and he managed the bar with so much grace.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“Your wedding doesn’t have to follow a script; it just needs to reflect who you are. Trust your instincts and lean into choices that feel genuine, even if they’re unconventional. Sometimes, the most personal touches come from embracing the unexpected.”

Eve & Gardner

Eve and Gardner met at a Halloween party at a local dive bar, The Casino. Gardner was fittingly dressed as a gardener and Eve was dressed as a sloth. Gardner walked up to Eve, put his arm around her while their friends chatted, and the rest is history. A few years later, Eve was attending graduate school in California while Gardner was still living in Idaho. He convinced her to come home for one last visit shortly before she graduated. Despite rainy and snowy weather, the two ventured up a local canyon trail, postholing through the snow. When they finally reached the fog-covered summit, Gardner turned to Eve and said simply, “Eve, I love you, I will support you no matter what.” He then got down on one knee, pulled out a ring, and asked, “Will you marry me?”

Eve and Gardner planned a large sunset Western-themed wedding on September 21st at Garnder’s grandparents’ ranch for 180 guests. For their wedding day style, they leaned into a refined rustic aesthetic. Gardner wore a custom sage-green suit featuring silk lining depicting bird-hunting scenes as a tribute to his passion for hunting chukar nearby, and crocodile cowboy boots. Eve dazzled in a romantic chiffon Monique Lhuillier gown paired with a Toni Federici veil and Betsey Johnson heels, later slipping into an ivory silk dress and Tecovas cowboy boots for dancing. Adding a personal touch, Eve’s mother, an accomplished potter, crafted a handmade bowl for each guest, which doubled as a meaningful keepsake and the vessel for their dinner. To keep the energy high, Espresso Martinis were served midway through the evening, ensuring the celebration never lost its spark. And, as the night drew to a close, the festivities moved from the dance floor to cozy bonfires beneath the stars.

The Mason Family did our catering and graciously worked with us on our dinnerware. My mom is a potter and actually hand made bowls for every guest. The Mason Family was able to serve our dinners on the bowls, and then washed them and set them out for people to take home as party favors.
Two Hands Floral was our florist and she really created magic with the flowers!! Everything was so gorgeous it felt like a dream.
Holly, our wedding planner, was so amazing. Day-of, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. I found out later about a bus breaking down and a few other things that didn’t go as planned, but day-of I had no idea because she handled it all.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“All gas no brakes. It’s the best day of your life so make it exactly what you want and nothing you don’t. The best piece of advice we received was to remember that you are not the host, you are the guests of honor! Don’t fret about making anyone happy except for yourself.”

Kelly & Avery

Kelly and Avery both work in corporate events, so it was no surprise that their worlds collided while working the same conference. They made an instant connection and it was not long before they were dating. “We would get so focused in our conversation, it was like no one else was in the room with us,” Kelly recalls. After nearly four years together, Avery decided it was time to ask Kelly to be his wife and planned a proposal at the Anderson Reserve, a charming restaurant in the town of Sweet. While there, Avery suggested they take photos by the scenic overlook. Just as their friends were snapping pictures, Avery dropped to one knee and, through a mix of excitement and nerves, managed to say, “I love you, you’re my best friend and I’m kind of blacking out right now, but will you marry me?” Kelly, laughing through happy tears, said “Yes!,” only to step inside the restaurant and find their families waiting to surprise her.

They worked to collaborate with us and make all of my dreams come true when it came to capturing all the happy memories.
We could not have had the wedding of our dreams without our amazing day of coordination team from Wild Bliss Event Planning. Sunset Soft Serve, A Lively Chef Catering, Rust + Thistle Florals and DJ Talon Brimm were all amazing and integral to the success of the day. Hanna Taylor Beauty, Cassie Stirling Beauty, Mariah Joy Beauty, Amelia Renslow, Makayla from White Angel Nails, Glo Boise Med Spa, Aesthetique Med Spa and Peeled Boise were essential for getting me and my girls wedding ready. Portsche’s Fine Jewelry made both of my rings custom, and Avery’s ring is custom from Creations by Compton.

When it came time to plan their wedding, Kelly and Avery drew inspiration from old-world Parisian charm and vintage Hollywood glamour. Set against the historic backdrop of the Boise Depot, their October 5th wedding was a stunning blend of timeless elegance and personal touches. Kelly walked down a DIY checkered aisle, a true labor of love, leading to a circular altar surrounded by meadow-inspired florals. Avery looked dapper in a midnight blue Vera Wang tux, a perfect complement to Kelly’s Chosen by KYHA gown and matching midnight blue heels. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a variety of signature cocktails, a vibrant dance floor and a scrumptious soft serve lineup from Sunset Soft Serve. And while their planned bubble send-off didn’t quite go as expected, a last-minute pivot to glowing foam sticks made for a magical exit.

“Marriage is so much sweeter when you’re each other’s best friend. Be with each other as much as possible on the wedding day. It goes by so fast and it is a lot to process. We also took a step away from the crowd during all of the wedding events (welcome party, wedding, etc.) to take mental pictures and take it all in.”

Cait & Kevin

Cait and Kevin’s love story began with a first date at a coffee shop after connecting on a dating app, but it quickly became something special. Just four months after their first coffee, Kevin recreated their second date, a romantic evening that originally had them wandering through downtown Boise. This time, as they strolled through the park near the Capitol steps, Kevin got down on one knee, surprising Cait with a beautifully captured proposal thanks to his best friend secretly photographing every heartfelt moment.
When it was time to plan their wedding, choosing the perfect venue initially seemed challenging; Cait, originally from Los Angeles, California, and Kevin, a Boise native, wanted a place that blended their distinct styles, an aesthetic that Cait, as an event and bridal stylist, describes their January 4th winter wedding as “Moody Old Hollywood Glam with an edge.” Fate stepped in when dinner plans unexpectedly changed one night, leading them to The Baraboo Supper Club inside Hotel Renegade. From the moment Cait walked in, she knew it was meant to be. With a playful nod to Kevin’s nickname, “Renegade,” affectionately given by Cait on their second date, selecting this venue felt like destiny.

favorite thing purchased for your wedding day
My two dresses were everything. I was obsessed with them when I first bought them and even more so as I wore them throughout the entire wedding day and reception. When people say, ‘you know when you know’ about your person, it’s just as true when I found both of my wedding dresses. The moment I saw them, I knew they were so me.

Walking down the aisle with my dad, my eyes fixed on my soon-to-be husband, Kevin, was an unforgettable moment. When my father handed me over to him, I was overwhelmed with emotion—a beautiful blend of joy, love and appreciation. In that moment, as we said “I do,” we weren’t just exchanging vows; we were beginning a new chapter, creating a family of our own—something I had dreamed of for a very long time.

Second-Look
Of course! The second dress, ‘The Aria White Dress,’ was very on theme and complemented the first one, all while being completely different. It was a the White Sequin Feather dress by Nadine Merabi. The sculpted fit featured long sleeves with shoulder pads, and a stunning mix of sequin, bead and thread embroidery. The texture was exquisite, with feather detailing across the bottom of the dress. The mini length was perfect for all-night dancing, adding a fun yet glamorous touch to the celebration.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND
Our photographer, Alexander Thomas, was just as integral to bringing our vision to life. He truly understood and captured the essence of our day so beautifully. Every moment, every detail, was documented with such artistry. He put so much care into editing our photos, and our gallery is absolutely stunning, we couldn’t be more grateful.

Their elegant January black-tie celebration began with an emotional ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church, surrounded by 110 of their closest family and friends.
Later, at Hotel Renegade, jazz melodies and timeless tunes from the 1920s through the 1960s filled the air, creating an undeniable buzz that drew everyone onto the dance floor, perfectly capturing the glamorous, vintage-inspired spirit of the evening.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“Hire a wedding planner—ideally, a seasoned expert who has been in the industry for years and truly understands your vision. It’s essential to choose someone you genuinely like and enjoy spending time with, as wedding planning is far more involved than most people expect. Having Heidi and Jonathan made the entire experience so much less stressful than it would have been if I’d tried to handle everything myself.
Our wedding exceeded the expectations of my husband, myself and everyone involved because when you hire experts, they know how to execute. It was the best money I’ve ever spent.
When I met Heidi from Ira & Lucy at Hotel Renegade, I instantly knew she and her husband were the perfect team to bring our wedding to life.”

Kristin & Brad

Kristin and Brad met with a swipe right on a dating app and unknowingly scheduled their first date on Easter. “It was game over ever since then,” Kristin shared. They enjoyed each other’s company so much that their first three dates all happened within a single week. A year and a half later, Brad planned a romantic surprise getaway at the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, Washington. The weekend was filled with mountain views, hot tub soaks and cozy dinners. On their final night, during a private meal overlooking the falls, Brad got down on one knee and asked Kristin to spend forever with him. However, the celebrations didn’t stop there. He also coordinated a surprise gathering with friends at their favorite winery the next day, even flying in Kristin’s sister from New York City, New York.

Kristin and Brad planned a winter wedding on February 22nd that blended log cabin warmth with formal elegance. Set against the snowdusted peaks of Sun Valley, their celebration felt equal parts chic and cozy. Kristin wore the dazzling “Tai” gown by Liz Martinez, complete with sparkling beading, sheer sleeves and whimsical tulle draping that caught the light with every step. After trying on over 100 gowns between New York and Seattle, Washington, she ultimately said “Yes!” to the very first one she had ever tried on. Their outdoor ceremony featured sweeping mountain views, blooming ivory florals and cozy Pendleton blankets draped over each chair. Inside the clubhouse, long tables dressed in softly patterned linens were topped with candlelight and low garden-style arrangements. For dessert, a classic cheesecake topped with berries stole the show, accompanied by mini bite-sized treats. The most unforgettable part of the evening? The DJ who kept the dance floor packed until the very end, fueled by soft pretzels served as the ultimate late-night snack.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“Have fun with it! At the end of the day, the day is about you and getting to marry your person, so don’t stress too much about being unique or following traditions that aren’t important to you. Focus on the things that are important to you and are going to make your day more memorable and fun. And on your wedding day, don’t forget to breath and be present with your partner, it goes by sooooooo fast!”

Refined Romance Along the Riverside

Inspired by the romantic charm of the Italian countryside, this editorial at The Cottage at Riverbend beautifully blends refined elegance with a modern touch. With tree-lined paths, blooming lilacs and the feeling of a tucked-away garden estate, the setting couldn’t have been more enchanting. Planner and designer, Gatherings by Holly, brought the vision to life, curating a day that felt effortlessly ethereal, with bold floral moments and classic styling.

Delicate meets daring in this fresh color palette. Think whites and blush pinks paired with rich purples and lively pops of green, capturing the fresh energy of spring in full bloom. The ceremony space featured dramatic asymmetrical floral pillars designed by Reverie Floristry, that framed the couple for a statement that set the tone for the rest of the celebration. Each petal and stem echoed the invitation suite by Sawtooth Calligraphy, where bright paper goods complemented the organic beauty of the surroundings.

One of our favorite design moments was the chic lounge setup, an inviting vignette where guests could sip and stay awhile. Regal furniture rentals from Rustique Rentals creates a cozy corner that radiated quiet luxury. Their custom bar, also wrapped in florals, served as a focal point for cocktail hour, while tiny vintage-style table lamps added a warm glow and a touch of old-world cottage charm.

For the reception, long tables were set al fresco beneath open skies and sculptural florals flowed across the tablescape, spilling over taper candles and soft linens. Blush napkins, gold flatware and personalized name cards in golden holders added an intimate, elevated touch. For the wedding day style, the bride wore a silky off-the-shoulder gown with a dramatic slit and lace-trimmed veil for a chic vintage vibe. Meanwhile, the groom looked dapper in a classic black suit and embellished loafers for an added statement.

Valentine Ballroom & Bridal: Where Fashion Meets Forever

In the heart of Pocatello, sits a venue unlike any other, Valentine Ballroom, a sophisticated space that seamlessly blends bridal fashion and event elegance. Valentine isn’t just a venue or a bridal shop, it’s both, which means brides can experience the full journey here, from first fitting to final vows. Inside Valentine Bridal, brides will discover a designer-driven selection of gowns from names like Justin Alexander, Moonlight, Barbie Anne Bridal and the exclusive Valentine Bridal Private Collection. The boutique also offers a variety of accessories, ensuring every bride’s look is tailored to perfection.

Drawing inspiration from the opulence of French Rococo, this styled shoot transformed the ballroom into a bold, romantic dream. The design embraced a maximalist aesthetic filled with ornate details, rich textures and a whimsical, editorial edge. Chartreuse, plum and peach formed the core of the color palette, creating a look that felt both grand and intimate. Historia Florals brought the vision to life with layered floral arrangements featuring large chrysanthemums, roses, butterfly ranunculus, brownie tulips, hydrangea and hellebore. Green amaranthus tendrils added texture and movement, gently dripping from the bouquet and altar florals to echo the drama of the setting.

The reception table was a total showstopper. A heavily sequined linen from Nuage Designs sparkled beneath modern place settings curated by The Linden House. Think: vintage charm meets contemporary edge. Meanwhile, cut crystal glassware, clustered florals and color-blocked arrangements brought dimension to the tablescape, drawing the eye across the entire setup. The custom stationery, designed by Orchard, paired with vibrant tones, made one thing clear: maximalism is here to stay.

End your day with a sweet treat that steals the show. The cake by Paisley Cakes was a true masterpiece. Four towering tiers featured hand-piped details, swan-adorned pillars and a vintage French porcelain topper, with rich florals spilling between the layers. Equal parts art and indulgence.
With every design element tied together under the guidance of Valentine Ballroom’s exclusive planning team, couples can rest assured their event will be just as thoughtfully executed, from the dress to the final dance. Whether you’re drawn to fashion-forward romance or dream of an over-the-top fête, Valentine Ballroom is where bridal magic begins.
