After 150 years, Mary Lincoln’s ‘madness’ still haunts American psyche

In new book, Mrs. Lincoln’s own words offer insight into her sometimes tortured mind

SPRINGFIELD — On May 19, 1875, a Cook County jury handed down a verdict in a case concerning the health and welfare of Mary Lincoln, widow of the former president who had been assassinated a decade earlier.

After listening to only a single day of testimony, the 12 men on the jury signed the standard verdict form stating simply that they “are satisfied that said Mary Lincoln is insane, and is a fit person to be sent to a State Hospital for the Insane …”

The case had been brought to court by her surviving son, Robert Todd Lincoln, then just 31 years old and a successful practicing attorney in Chicago. At his request, the court ordered her committed to the Bellevue Place Sanitarium in Batavia, west of Chicago, and named him conservator of her estate for a period of one year, based on the finding that she was at the time incapable of managing her own affairs.

But Mrs. Lincoln would not spend a full year in the facility. With the help of two of her closest and only remaining friends, James and Myra Bradwell, of Chicago – and against the strong protests of Robert Lincoln – Mary Lincoln would be released after only four months to the custody of her sister in Springfield, Elizabeth Edwards.

The subject of Mary Lincoln’s mental health has long been the subject of public debate. Was she, in fact, a danger to herself and others, and was her son truly acting in her best interests? Or was Robert Lincoln, as his mother would sometimes allege, scheming to shove her aside in order to take over her money and property?

Now, 150 years after her commitment, a newly rediscovered collection of correspondence between Mrs. Lincoln and her friends and family – letters long assumed to have been lost or destroyed – shed new light on the nature of her illness as well as the nature of her relationships with the few friends and family she had left by that time.

“The Dark Days of Abraham Lincoln’s Widow, As Revealed by Her Own Letters,” was compiled by historian Jason Emerson

and was recently released by Southern Illinois University Press.

“People have always wondered if these missing letters, if they showed that, in fact, she was perfectly sane, that her son Robert did actually railroad her, bribe the judge and jury because he wanted to steal her money,” Emerson said in a podcast interview with Capitol News Illinois. “And they do not show that at all. They show that Mary thought that’s what was happening – which, in my opinion, and the opinions of psychiatrists I’ve consulted – that was one of her delusions, that everyone was trying to steal her money, not just Robert.”

The book was actually first compiled a century ago by Myra Helmer Pritchard, granddaughter of James and Myra Bradwell, and they were scheduled for publication in 1927, first in installments in the magazine “Liberty,” and then as a book.

Before the publication, however, Pritchard, as a courtesy, offered to show them to Mary Harlan Lincoln, widow of Robert Lincoln, who had just died the year before. Although she was initially agreeable to the project and even offered to add additional information, after reading the manuscript, Mary Harlan Lincoln withdrew her consent and launched a series of legal efforts to suppress their publication.

Pritchard eventually agreed to hand over the material and never publish them in any form, in exchange for a payment of $22,500.

Emerson’s book recompiles that material and presents it as it was intended to be published in 1927, including Pritchard’s comments on the letters. But it also includes Emerson’s own annotations and footnotes that provide context, as well as clarifications and corrections to some of Pritchard’s commentaries.

The letters reveal her to be lonely, occasionally depressed and at times desperate for companionship. But on their surface, do not necessarily portray someone of an unsound mind, especially considering the traumas she had endured through much of her life.

“Pray for me that I may be able to leave such a place as this,” she wrote to Myra Bradwell on Aug. 3, 1875. “Let me see Judge Bradwell. I beg you to come on Friday morning. I should like to see Dr. Evarts. I feel I must have some further conversation with him. Write me, your

heartbroken friend, frequently, daily. But come to me. Will you kindly bring out some samples of black alpaca a best quality without luster and without cotton. Also some samples of heavier black woolen goods.”

The book is Emerson’s second work on the subject of the lost letters, which he uncovered in 2005. He found them locked away in a trunk that had once belonged to one of Robert Lincoln’s personal attorneys, Frederick Towers.

Using those letters and a wealth of other material, Emerson wrote his first book on the subject, “The Madness of Mary Lincoln,” in 2007.

In that book, Emerson cites a modern psychiatric expert who theorized that Mary Lincoln suffered from what would likely be diagnosed today as bipolar disorder.

“And he told me that today, Mary would be committed involuntarily for probably about seven days,” he said. “Doctors would look at her. They’d give her medication, and she’d be fine today, as long as she took the medication.”

“But back then, they didn’t have that,” Emerson said. “But if you look at her whole life, it’s very clear the incidence of bipolar disorder, or what used to be called manic depressive illness, where she’s high and she’s low, and she’s wonderfully loving and horribly mean. Her spending could be considered a manic action. She was depressed a lot. So it’s clear throughout her whole life.”

After her release, Mary Todd Lincoln lived a relatively quiet life, although she remained plagued by both psychiatric and physical ailments. She died in 1882 at the age of 63. She is buried next to her husband at the Lincoln Tomb in Springfield, along with three of their sons: Edward, William and Thomas.

Robert Lincoln went on to lead a distinguished career of his own. In addition to his legal career, he served as secretary of war under President James Garfield and continued in that post under President Chester A. Arthur after Garfield’s assassination. He also served as minister to Great Britain in the Benjamin Harrison administration. He died in 1926 at age 82.

The first aid trucks have entered Gaza after nearly 3 months of Israel’s blockade

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — The first aid trucks have entered Gaza following nearly three months of Israel’s complete blockade of food, medicine and other supplies, Israel and the United Nations said Monday.

Five trucks carrying baby food and other aid entered the territory of over 2 million Palestinians via the Kerem Shalom crossing, according to the Israeli defense body in charge of coordinating aid to Gaza, COGAT.

The U.N. called it a “welcome development” but said far more aid is needed to address the vast humanitarian crisis. Food security experts last week warned of famine in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier said his decision to resume limited, “basic” aid to Gaza came after pressure from allies who said they couldn’t support Israel’s renewed military offensive if there are “images of hunger” coming from the Palestinian territory.

The U.N. humanitarian chief, Tom Fletcher, said the few trucks were a “drop in the ocean of what is urgently needed.”

He said an additional four U.N. trucks were cleared to enter Gaza. Those trucks may enter tomorrow, according to COGAT.

During the ceasefire, some 600 aid trucks entered Gaza each day.

Fletcher added that given the chaotic situation on the ground, the U.N. expects the aid could be looted or stolen. He urged Israel to open multiple crossings in northern and southern Gaza to permit a regular flow of aid.

Still, the announcement raised hope among Palestinians that more desperately needed food, medicine and other supplies would enter.

Israel over the weekend launched a new wave of air and ground operations across Gaza, and the army ordered the evacuation of its second-largest city, Khan Younis, where Israel carried out a massive operation earlier in the 19-month war that left much of the area in ruins.

Israel says its offensive is a bid to pressure Hamas to release the remaining hostages abducted in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack that ignited the war. Hamas has said it will only release them in exchange for a lasting ceasefire and an Israeli

pullout.

Netanyahu said Monday that Israel plans on “taking control of all of Gaza,” as well as establishing a new system to distribute aid that circumvents Hamas. He has said Israel also will encourage what he refers to as the voluntary emigration of much of Gaza’s population to other countries.

Netanyahu warns of a ‘red line’ on Gaza

The Trump administration has voiced full support for Israel’s actions and blames Hamas for the toll on Palestinians, though in recent days it has expressed growing concern over the hunger crisis.

President Donald Trump — who skipped Israel on his trip to the region last week — voiced concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as did Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said on a visit to Turkey that he was “troubled” by it.

In a video statement posted to social media, Netanyahu said Israel’s “greatest friends in the world” had told him, “We cannot accept images of hunger, mass hunger. We cannot stand that. We will not be able to support you.” Netanyahu mentioned “senators” without giving their nationality.

Netanyahu said the situation was approaching a “red line” and a “dangerous point,” but it was not clear if he was referring to the crisis in Gaza or the potential loss of support from allies.

The video statement appeared aimed at pacifying anger from Netanyahu’s nationalist base at the decision to resume aid. Two far-right governing partners have pressed Netanyahu not to allow aid into Gaza.

At least one of them, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, appeared to be on board with the latest plan.

“No more raids and going in and out, but conquering, cleansing and remaining until Hamas is destroyed,” he said. “We are destroying what is still left of the Strip, simply because everything there is one big city of terror.”

Netanyahu says ‘minimal’ aid to be let in

The aid that would be let in would be “minimal,” Netanyahu said, without specifying precisely when it would resume, and would act as a bridge toward the launch of a new aid system in Gaza, in which a U.S.-backed organization will distribute assistance in hubs that will be

secured by the Israeli military.

Israel says the plan is meant to prevent Hamas from accessing aid, which Israel says it uses to bolster its rule in Gaza.

U.N. agencies and aid groups have rejected the plan, saying it won’t reach enough people and would weaponize aid in contravention of humanitarian principles. They have refused to take part in it.

Palestinians say an Israeli undercover raid has killed a militant Israeli special forces disguised as displaced Palestinians meanwhile launched a rare ground raid into Khan Younis early Monday, according to local residents.

The forces killed Ahmed Sarhan, a leader in the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, in a shootout, the group said. Palestinian witnesses said his wife and daughter were detained.

The forces drove in on a civilian vehicle and carried out the raid under cover from heavy airstrikes. At least five other people were killed, in addition to Sarhan, according to Nasser Hospital.

Also on Monday, an Israeli strike on a school-turned-shelter in the builtup Nuseirat refugee camp killed five people, including a woman and a girl, and wounded 18, mostly children, according to Al-Awda Hospital, which received the casualties.

The Israeli military had no immediate comment on either incident.

The war in Gaza began when Hamasled militants attacked southern Israel, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting 251 others. The militants are still holding 58 captives, around a third of whom are believed to be alive, after most of the rest were returned in ceasefire agreements or other deals.

Israel’s retaliatory offensive has killed more than 53,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which doesn’t differentiate between civilians and combatants in its count. The campaign has destroyed large areas of Gaza and displaced around 90% of its population.

US is reinstating records for international students. For some, it’s too late

After the government terminated his legal status in the U.S., one student abruptly lost his laboratory job in Houston and, fearing detention, he returned to his home country in south Asia on a one-way ticket.

The Trump administration later reversed course in its expansive crackdown on international students, but there was a major obstacle. The student cannot return because his American visa was revoked.

Without it, he’s “stranded,” said the student, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation.

As the government begins reinstating students’ records, many face a daunting and complicated path toward rebuilding their lives. For those who left, there is no guarantee they can return. Others have faced challenges reenrolling in school and returning to jobs.

Mental anguish from their ordeals linger, as do feelings of vulnerability. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has expanded the grounds for terminating a student’s legal status, leaving many to fear they could be targeted again.

A total of more than 4,700 international students had their permission to study in the U.S. canceled this spring, with little notice or explanation. In court hearings, Department of Homeland Security officials said they ran the names of student visa holders through an FBI-run database that contains the names of suspects and people who have been arrested, even if they were never charged with a crime or had charges dropped.

At a court hearing last week in Oakland, California, lawyers for international students sought a nationwide injunction they said would protect their clients and others across the country.

But government attorneys said that wasn’t necessary because ICE was mailing status reactivation letters to affected students. It likely will take two weeks for all students to receive their letter, which can then be shared with universities and employers, assistant U.S. attorney Elizabeth Kurlan said.

The plaintiffs’ lawyers said the letter is meaningless, arguing ICE’s new policy suggests student records can be terminated on a whim. There’s also no evidence ICE has asked the State Department to restore revoked visas, the plaintiffs’ attorneys said.

A student who left faces a long wait for another US visa

The man in Houston left within about a week of learning his legal status had been terminated. Around that time, he also received an email that the visa he used to enter the U.S. had been revoked. He believes his termination stemmed from a 2021 fraud case that was dismissed.

Over nearly a decade he had built a life in the U.S., where he was enrolled in “optional practical training,” which allows foreign students to stay and work for up to three years on their student visas. In his home country, he is now looking for work and living with his mother.

The wait time for a U.S. visa interview is at least a year, he said.

Even if he got another visa, returning would be complicated because of his financial situation. He had a car loan and credit cards in the U.S. that he can’t afford to pay after losing his job, and his credit score has since dropped, he said.

“Revoking a visa or revoking a SEVIS status does not just affect the educational side of things, it affects the whole life,” said the student, who has struggled with feelings of loneliness and also grief over his father’s recent death.

SEVIS is the Student and Exchange Visitor Information Systems database that tracks international students’ compliance with their visa status.

Students who left the country may not have known their rights or had the resources to hire a lawyer, said Ben Loveman, an immigration attorney. They now will have a harder time being reinstated, he said.

“There were huge consequences,” Loveman said.

Some students see new risk to studying in the US

For a Nepali programmer in Texas who had his status terminated, the ordeal brought up a mistake he thought he had left in the past.

The programmer, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear or retaliation, was arrested four years ago for drunken driving. He said he took responsibility for his actions, performing community service hours, serving probation and paying fines. The judge told him the records could be sealed after two years, but the case appears to explain why he was targeted by immigration authorities.

“I followed everything,” he said. “If they’re going to take it all, at least give me due process.”

His status has since been restored, and the programmer, who is on an OPT program, has gone back to his job. But the episode hasn’t faded from his mind.

If the right opportunity emerged in another country like New Zealand or Canada, he said he would take it and leave.

A student at Iowa State University who also requested anonymity out of concern about being targeted, said he is looking for options to leave the U.S., after what he describes as a “dark period.”

The Ph.D. student said his status termination pushed him to a mental breaking point. He had a plane ticket back home to Bangladesh reserved. He hardly left his apartment, and when he did, he felt he was being followed.

He attributes his termination to pending charges against him for marijuana possession, but he said he hadn’t been convicted.

After his status reinstatement, he restarted a teaching assistant job he had lost. Then, he had to catch up on grading almost three weeks of assignments for dozens of students.

While he’s relieved to get back to school, he’s confident about his decision to leave by the end of the year — either for home or Europe. The degree is not worth the risk of another status termination, he said.

“How much should I suffer to continue here?” he said.

Thinking about growing squash this summer? Here’s what to know

After popular crops like tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants, squash is another reliable favorite for the Northern Illinois summer gardens. Whether you’re a seasoned grower or just getting started, it’s common to include one or two squash plants in a home garden.

Squash belongs to a large plant family known as cucurbits, which includes not only squash but also cucumbers, melons, pumpkins, and watermelons. These plants typically grow as vines, produce yellow, orange, or white flowers, and thrive in hot weather. Within this group,

there are a wide range of different options in all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. If you’re looking for a specific characteristic—such as a personal-sized butternut squash or a less bitter cucumber—there’s likely a cultivar for that feature.

When selecting a variety to grow, it’s important to consider the plant’s growth habit. Many types come in both bush or vining forms. Bush types are more compact and well-suited to smaller gardens or container setups. Vining types are more traditional and require more space, although they can be trained to grow vertically on a trellis to conserve ground space. Many varieties

that are bush or smaller include words like ‘space’, ‘patio’, or even ‘bush’. For example, ‘Pickle Bush’, ‘Patio Pickle, ‘Spacemaster’, and ‘Salad Bush’ are all bush/smaller cucumber plants.

This group can also be started from seeds directly planted in the soil or as a transplant purchased from a nursery-home and garden center. Both options tend to be fine and really depends on what you can find available to you and what you want to grow. As we are still in May, it is not too late to directly plant seeds in the soil.

Spacing is a key factor to keep in mind. Vining squash typically need 18 to 24

inches between plants within a row, and about 6 feet between rows. Depending on your available space, this may limit how many plants you can grow. In addition to plant size, think about other practical features like flavor, shelf life, and how long each variety takes to mature. If you’re starting from seed, most packets will recommend planting several seeds together in a small mound or “hill” of raised soil. This technique helps warm the soil and improves germination. Once the seedlings emerge, you’ll thin them down to the strongest one.

Remembering Sonia

Contributors

Sonia and I attended the same high school in Milwaukee and while I was I football player and she was a cheerleader we knew of each other, but never interacted. She had caught my eye leading a cheer at a basketball game and I asked a fellow football player about her. He told me she wasn’t interested in dating since she spent most of her time engaged in extracurricular activities and spending time with her family. I later found out she and her brother Roland loved spending

time outdoors together.

We finally met two years later at a dancing class sponsored by the YMCA and she agreed to let me take her home. She later told our daughter she thought that my trying to hide my rough hands from working endearing. We found out that not only did we live just three blocks apart, but we shared the same love of the outdoors. I was a forestry major and she was planning on becoming a lawyer. She told me that her high school guidance counselor told her that if she wanted to be outdoors she should marry a forester. Was it serendipity?

We found we clicked on so many levels

and got married shortly after. As students I secured a contract with a landscape architect and we started a landscaping business. Sonia insisted on working with me and to avoid the criticism of the time, a woman doing a man’s work, she disguised herself as a boy. She often pushed the boundaries of what was expected as a woman and I was always proud of her strength.

We both continued our schooling at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and moved in with her parents. They were building a house and asked us to live with them and in exchange I would finish the upstairs, landscape the yard,

build a deck and a garage. Sonia was determined to help and along with others we accomplished those tasks.

It was during this time that, for reasons unclear to me, I was called into the women’s counselor’s office at the university. I was told by the counselor that Sonia was extremely bright and I should treat her appropriately. I shared it with Sonia and told her if we decided to continue our educations it would be both of us attending school.

While at the university another life changing moment occurred at an odd time. Our car battery failed and my ecology professor, Dr. Phil Whitford, happened upon our situation and jumped our car. In exchange we agreed to babysit his two young children. From there we began a lifelong friendship with him and his wife, Kay who was an English professor, and their children. We would visit them often at their farm in the Sand County area of Wisconsin. We introduced them to canoeing and spent many enjoyable days on the nearby Meacan River.

When we finished our undergrad degrees we accepted teaching positions in order to save money to pursue graduate degrees. At the time Milwaukee public schools would not hire teachers from the same family son we ended up accepting positions in Palatine, Illinois. As a wedding gift one of Sonia’s aunts, who was on the Wisconsin Governor’s Conservation Committee, gifted us scholarships to attend the newly opened Audubon Camp in Sarona, Wisconsin. There we took field science classes from Bill Stapp who later joined the faculty at the University of Michigan. He later became our advisor for our doctoral work at the University of Michigan.

We decided to earn our Master’s degrees in field science and were accepted at Cornell University and the University of Wisconsin in Superior. We decided to attend the University of Wisconsin since we had continued to pay taxes in Wisconsin from our landscaping business and were eligible for instate tuition. The university we took ecology and geology courses from Dr. Paul Tyson and Dr. Clyde Brasher with whom we also formed lifelong friendships with.

To save money we spent the summer camping in a tent at Patterson State Park. Camping was a popular activity with Sonia’s family and something we often did so we thought nothing living that way for the summer. Our daughter Linnea was born in March while we were still working on our Master’s programs. Sonia would take her to our classes, indoors and out in the field, where Linnea would quietly observe everything around her.

After graduation we were offered teaching positions decided to accepted positions at camp Reinberg in the Deer Grove Forest Preserve in Palatine, Illinois. Here is where we met Ray Schuelenberg of the Morton Arboretum. We designed a small program based on the ecology of the Forest Preserve and planted a small prairie within the preserve. Ray generously donated the prairie plants form those he had growing in a greenhouse at the Arboretum.

Later during our time at Reinberg we met Ray Jarems, a Chicago school principal, with whom we arranged to bring a group of sixth graders to the camp for a week of field studies. We designed

a pre and post vocabulary test for the low income students from Chicago to demonstrate what they had learned at camp. The positive results from this experience were used by superintendent Willis to secure a federal grant to provide low income students with a week of residential outdoor education. We later heard from several of those students letting us know that their experience at camp helped provided them with a direction later in life. Hearing that was a rewarding experience.

By this time Dr. Bill Howenstine accepted a position at Northeastern Illinois University and had created a semester long independent study program for college students who served as instructors at the Camp Reinberg program. We had our two children, Linnea and Tad, by then and while Sonia spent much of her time playing with and teaching them she was still able to spend time teaching some aspects of the program. Our daughter often joined her during these sessions and was actively involved in the lessons. Sonia always made learning a fun experience and would often prefer to go outdoors and play with the children rather than remain inside.

When the federal grant was implemented we were asked to prepare the Chicago teachers for the outdoor program, recommended staff for leadership roles and continued to serve as consultants for nearly 20 years. Later we designed a program to place Chicago teachers in Chicago’s museums including the Natural History Museum, the Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium and the South Shore Country Club, which might be more familiar as a site which was used in the Blues Brothers movie. The educational day trips for low income students was linked to the school curriculum using the resources at each site. Our children didn’t realize we were working at the time, they only knew they were able to visit exciting places.

By this time I had joined the faculty at Northern Illinois University’s Lorado Taft Field Campus preparing teachers’ to use the outdoors in their educational program. While I was at Taft we were asked by Dr. Paul Wall of the University of Alabama at Tuskegee to design and implement a summer program at the University for the teachers to stimulate the development of language skills in low income students based on outdoor experiences. We lived there during a time of social unrest in the summer of 1967 when people from the north were not exactly welcome and our daughter remembers the experience of living there clearly. We often took summer positions out of state during this time and our kids not only enjoyed, but benefited from the experiences.

In order to retain my position at Taft I was required to earn 30 hours more beyond a Master’s degree so we decided to enter the doctoral program at the School

of Natural Resources at the University of Michigan. We worked on the Sea grant program, an advocate for a Great Lakes education program. Sonia’s dissertation included a format for comparing the ecology of the Great Lakes to local inland lakes that was available for students to use. Because we didn’t want to live in a student apartment Sonia found an old run down house in the country to rent. There our kids were able to play in the field, the creek, climb the fruit trees and ate the apples and pears that grew.

When we came back from Michigan Sonia tried to secure a teaching job in the local schools, but was only able to land substitute teaching jobs. As a result we began pursuing state environmental grants to supplement our income. Sonia became quite profficenct at grant writing and implementation, but it did not provide steady work. It also involved a lot of time being spent meeting with state officials in Springfield and Chicago and Sonia did not like being away from our family.

When positions became available at Taft Sonia repeatedly applied for them, but the white male campus faculty did not welcome wives being involved in the program. Eventually she was able to accumulate enough evidence regarding the blatant discrimination to file a complaint with the officials in DeKalb. They found her complaints valid and she was able to secure a tenured position there. She was able to enjoyed a long career focused on teaching field sciences. She loved teaching and brought that enthusiasm with her to her classes both on campus, at extension branches and in Canada.

During this time we bought a farm and restored a native prairie and rejuvenated the oak woodlands that were there. We rented out the cropland and tried our hand a few times at raising livestock, but ultimately decided our energy was best spent restoring the natural habitat. Sonia and the kids felt that the animals were more pets than a source of income and after a few attempts I acquiesced.

We had been offering workshops and had helped coordinate Illinois’ state conservation program, Conservation 2000, which identified and purchased natural areas within Ogle and Lee Counties. We had also travel extensively for Clean Air Conferences to locations like Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Spain, and Hungary. When we decided to retire we wanted to continue our work and keep busy so we helped create Friends of the Rock along with Jan Woodhouse, and later participated in the Rock River Trail Initiative with Frank Schier.

We were as busy as we were when we were employed, but we did all the work on a volunteer basis with Sonia writing grants to help fund projects. We helped found the Illinois Renewable Energy Association and hosted the annual Illinois Renewable Energy and Sustainable Lifestyle Fair along with our daughter for almost 20 years. We had been members

of the Prairie Preservation Society of Ogle County for years and were thrilled to be a part of the purchase of Sand Ridge Prairie (formerly part of the Sinnissippi Christmas Tree Farm). I end this list with our being asked by our good friend, the late Frank Schier, to write energy and environmental articles for the Rock River Times and which we have for over 20 years.

So looking back I think I fulfilled my commitment to Sonia by not only being her husband, her friend and loving her, but also treating her with respect and encouraging her to use her exceptionally fine mind and talents to the fullest extent possible. What really mattered to her was her love for her family and the outdoors.

While our children and I miss her cheerful, enthusiastic and loving presence we have many memories of her in our hearts. May she rest in peace as was her wish for the world. She was a wonderful soul.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Sonia this summer on Saturday, July 26th. If you would like to attend please email lin.vogl@gmail.com for details.
