2018 EMPLOYEE CAMPAIGN PROJECTS

Renovation of the Emergency Department in Waconia

The expansion of the Norman and Ann Hoffman Emergency Center will allow Ridgeview to remain as a premier emergency resource in the Twin Cities—attracting the best staff and providing a great service for the communities we serve.

Arlington Campus Renovation

Multiple renovations will occur on the Arlington Campus to improve privacy, efficiency and operations.

Ridgeview Health and Wellness

It is Ridgeview’s vision to create a sustainable culture of health and wellness across the organization and community. This includes community outreach and sharing ideas to encourage employees, area residents and their families to form and sustain active living, healthy eating habits & live longer, happier lives.

Health Care Scholarship Program

Ridgeview Foundation believes strongly in supporting students who choose to pursue careers in health care and, through its Health Care Scholarship Program, offers area high school students the opportunity to win a $2,000 scholarship.

Le Sueur Campus Initiatives

Money will be allocated to fund various initiatives on the Ridgeview Le Sueur Campus.

Newborn Sleep Sacks

Ridgeview gifts each newborn with a HaloÂŽ SleepSack Swaddle to promote safe sleeping habits. This gift helps Ridgeview provide new parents with items that offer comfort and safety for their newborn.

Roof-Top Gardens

Roof-Top Gardens enhance the healing environment for patients and families.

They save energy costs, extend the life of roofs two to three times, and are environmentally friendly. Contributions are used to refresh and expand our gardens.

1. Waconia Ridgeview Hospital Foundation was created in 1978.

2. The Foundation hosted its first special event in 1984 at Lakeside Ballroom to honor then President & CEO John Devin’s 25th anniversary.

3. The first part-time Foundation staff was hired in 1985.

4. The Foundation received its first planned gift as a beneficiary to the May Patterson Estate.

5. The first Golf Event was held in 1987 and raised $37,793.

6. Ground was broken in April 1990 for an $11 million expansion, which included a new emergency care facility and ambulance garages.

7. Medical staff supported the creation of an auditorium, with the groundbreaking in November 1990; 100 percent of the medical staff participated.

8. The Foundation Board expanded to represent Ridgeview clinic communities in 1993.

9. $25,000 was raised for the Ridgeview Community Chapel in 1995.

10. The Foundation purchased $22,000 in auditorium equipment.

11. After Community Health and the Education Resource Center were deemed priorities, $120,000 was raised.

12. Then President & CEO Bob Stevens asked the Foundation Board to raise $1 million for the CICU, which was the first capital project funded by the Foundation.

13. In 2001, the Foundation Board committed to contributing $500,000 to Ridgeview Medical Center annually.

14. The Ridgeview Friends & Family giving club was officially formed in 2002.

15. Health care scholarships were first awarded in 2002 to local high school seniors pursuing a career in the medical field.

16. The Surgery Expansion was named a Foundation funding priority in 2003.

17. Achieving a Healthy Balance was introduced as a premier women’s event to raise funds for Ridgeview.

18. The Fleischhacker Family generously gifted $3 million in 2005 for the Ridgeview Heart Center.

19. Ridgeview committed to building a new Communications Center by securing $500,000 for the project.

20. Will Yetzer established the Yetzer Hospice Endowment with a gift in memory of his wife, Euna, to support hospice services not covered by insurance or Medicare.

21. Ridgeview hosted a groundbreaking for the Minneapolis Heart Institute® at Ridgeview Heart Center, Center for Women & Children and Communications Center in the summer of 2006.

22. In 2007, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics invested $7 million in the Center for Women & Children to establish a Neonatal Care Unit.

23. The Heart Center saw its first patient, and the Communications Center opened as the primary backup for Carver County in the fall of 2007.

24. The Golf event expanded to introduce the Founder’s Cup. 25. The summer of 2009 brought the Birthing Center open house, with an overwhelming response.

26. The Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home opened in September 2009.

27. Ridgeview Medical Center’s Neonatal Care Unit opened in 2010 to expand its care for the most fragile of infants.

34. The Pay It Forward Fund joined the Foundation to help support women undergoing cancer treatment.

28. Ridgeview Foundation successfully completed the Transforming Lives Campaign—raising $33.8 million.

35. The Foundation kicked off its Waconia Emergency Department campaign at the 2015 Harvest Moon event.

29. The Foundation hosted its first Harvest Moon event at Hazeltine National Golf Club and raised $260,000 for a da Vinci Surgical System in the fall of 2010.

36. Norman and Ann Hoffman gave the lead gift of $3 million for the Waconia Emergency Department in the spring of 2017.

30. Ridgeview purchased a da Vinci robot and performed its first robotic surgery in February 2011.

31. Ridgeview Foundation’s 2012 Golf Event reached a milestone by raising over $1 million for the first time.

32. The Innovation for Generations campaign came to a close in 2013 and raised $2 million for the second floor medical/surgical unit.

33. The Foundation kicked off a new Corporate Partnership Program in 2015, which has proven to be successful in engaging organizations across our service area.

37. In 2017, the Foundation hosted its first Rocks for Ridgeview event at the Chaska Curling Center.

38. The Foundation celebrated its most successful year, raising more than $5.3 million in 2017 to support Ridgeview programs and services.

39. In the last 40 years, more than 18,000 donors have chosen to give to Ridgeview Medical Center.

40. During the last 40 years, Ridgeview Foundation has raised more than $54.2 million for programs and services at Ridgeview Medical Center!

Ridgeview’s voluntary PTO Donation to Foundation programs provides an opportunity for employees to donate eligible PTO hours to Ridgeview Foundation.

Ridgeview Foundation is dedicated to securing financial resources for Ridgeview Medical Center to help build new facilities, fund new programs and upgrade technology through philanthropy.

Donor Guidelines • Employees wishing to donate PTO as a financial gift to Ridgeview Foundation must have at least 80 hours in their PTO bank after their PTO donation is processed.
