For over two centuries, BMO has established itself as a cornerstone in the banking industry, not just through financial services but also by fostering deep community relationships and championing corporate responsibility. At the heart of this mission is Pierce Norton, Director & Team Lead, Commercial Banking, whose journey and leadership exemplify the bank’s commitment to community involvement and corporate partnership.
Joining BMO fresh out of college, Norton was drawn to the bank by its renowned credit training program and the extensive investment in employee development.
Norton’s connection to Ridgeview Foundation began seven years ago when he met Ridgeview financial leadership. Captivated by Ridgeview’s dedication to community and independence, he recognized the potential for a meaningful partnership. At the request of Norton, BMO officially partnered with Ridgeview Foundation in 2021 by joining its Corporate Partner program, marking the beginning of a holistic and mutually beneficial relationship.
BMO’s commitment to community giving is deeply rooted in its history. The bank’s philosophy of collaboration, learning and innovation aims to achieve sustainable solutions and shape the future together with its partners.
Philanthropy plays a pivotal role in BMO’s business strategy. By supporting organizations like Ridgeview Foundation, BMO helps build a thriving economy and ensures a sustainable future. Norton emphasizes that strong health care services are crucial for community well-being, enabling local businesses to attract and retain talent, which in turn fosters economic growth.
Our purpose-driven culture at BMO is unique. We believe that strong communities and the organizations supporting them are essential for building a thriving economy, ensuring a sustainable future and fostering an inclusive society.

Norton understands the value of having exceptional health care at his doorstep. His family, including his wife, Tessa, and their two sons, Palmer and Quinn, have utilized Ridgeview services and they have personally been touched by the impactful stories of patients and their families, reinforcing the importance of this corporate philanthropy.
Norton and BMO’s dedication to community partnerships proves that when businesses and communities thrive together, everyone benefits.

The company, with headquarters in Arlington, has a unique approach to repurposing potato commodities into nutritious pet food ingredients that has set it apart from its competitors. This success is driven by a combination of innovative projects, strong community ties and dedicated leadership, like Sean Johnson, Director of Operations at Northland Drying.

This growth trajectory is a testament to the strategic foresight and operational efficiency that the leadership brings to the table.
Northland Drying stands out for its focus on community, either by sourcing products locally or by supporting the community through philanthropy.
Johnson finds immense satisfaction in the small business feel of Northland Drying, coupled with a strong focus on growth. “The people and culture here make it easy to come to work every single day,” he says.
