The Regina Report

New Year, New You!

As the New Year approaches, the question of what your New Year's Resolution will be arises. This question is more meaningful to some and less meaningful to others, but here is some advice for this new fresh start!

Start going to Mass on Sundays if you don’t already! 1. Going to Mass will help you get closer to God. If you constantly found yourself feeling lonely this year or heartbroken by a boy, this is the perfect guy to add to your life: Jesus!

2.

Revamp your daily routines!

Spend a few days researching the best products for a specific part of you, such as your skin or hair. Having a dialed in routine can make it more exciting to take care of yourself, which is a great way to stay consistent with self care!

Create a new habit in your life.

3. Even something small such as making your bed every morning or waking up 15 minutes earlier to eat breakfast can have a huge impact on your day!

Practicing self-care can be a broad, yet doable goal for anyone in this new year. By taking care of yourself, you will feel better physically and mentally and will be more successful! Self care doesn’t need to be an expensive skin care routine, it can simply be increasing productivity.

Secret Santa!

To celebrate the Christmas season, Regina Student Council is partaking in a secret santa with the faculty and staff. Students, Francesca Camaj and Madelyn Yezback, interviewed teachers on their predictions of which student council member had them. Some knew exactly who, while others had no clue at all. Economics teacher, Ms. R, was definite that one of hers was Lorolei Mahon, but assumed that her second was a freshman. Art teacher, Ms. Willoughby, had quite a few people in mind including; Elle Mollicone, Bynn Nida, and Olivia Kulla. Science teacher, Mr. Mayer, wishes his secret santa remain a “secret” and did not have any idea on who it possibly could be. Ms. Ackerman, the religion teacher, predicted her secret santa to be Rianna Yaldo. Ms. Boreson was confident that Elle Mollicone was her secret santa. While on the other hand, Ms. Diamond had a hard time guessing but had suspicion it was a junior. We will find out who was right on the second week of December when these festivities begin!

Regina Players Behind the Scenes.

For months, the Regina Players have been working hard to put on an awesome production of High School Musical. They have had to get their head in the game in order to balance rehearsals and rigorous school work. Seeing all the hard work the cast put into the show out on stage was surreal and the audience could not take their eyes off the players. The play’s message was beautifully portrayed by the cast members to not stick to the status quo and just be yourself. I congratulate all the Regina students who took part in High School Musical, everyone truly did amazing, and I can not wait to see what you guys will do next. Obviously, this play would not have been as great as it was without the amazing director, choreographer, and stage crew, who spent much of their time helping out with the production, which really shows that “We are all in this Together”.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Regina’s Student Council launched their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on November 1st, with collection dates set in each homeroom throughout the entire month. The donations gathered were distributed to several local food and baby pantries, including St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen, The Capuchins, St. Pat’s Senior Center, Nativity of our Lord Parish, and St. Isidore Baby Pantry. These generous contributions provided support to many families in the community during the holiday season. The efforts of Regina families, faculty, and staff made this drive a success, and the community is grateful for their kindness. A special thank you goes to the St. Pat’s Senior Gospel Choir for sharing their uplifting music, which added to the spirit of the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive Prayer Service. Thank you to everyone involved, many families experienced a blessed and fulfilling Thanksgiving!

High School Musical Review!

On the weekend of November 22-24th the Regina Players performed their fall musical

“High School Musical” on stage at Clintondale High School. Me and my friend Lucia Francuck went to go watch the Saturday night performance and were stunned by all of the amazing performances and hard work put into this year’s fall production. The play was filled with talented acting, singing, dancing, and comedical scenes. High School Musical is a high school love story filled with themes of working together and friendship

The main characters, Troy and Gabriella, find love through their different interests in high school with the help of their friends while still achieving their dreams! The play was very much like the movie, and was a pleasure to watch on stage. Our star Angelina Sorrentino, who plays Gabriella, states that, “High School Musical gave me the perfect way to start my senior year, and was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, getting the opportunity to play Gabriella was a dream come true and will forever hold a special place in my heart”. The Regina Players did a fantastic job, and we're so proud of the Regina Music department!
