En esta edición especial, celebramos la vida, la memoria y la unión de las culturas que hacen de St. Louis una comunidad vibrante y diversa. En las páginas de este número, destacamos la conmovedora historia del altar creado por la artista mexicana Rosalía Angulo, dedicado a Anna, la loba gris mexicana, cuyo legado trascendió las fronteras entre la naturaleza, el arte y la espiritualidad. Su historia, exhibida en el Museo de Historia de Missouri, nos recuerda la importancia de la conservación y la conexión entre todos los seres vivos. En el marco de la tradicional celebración del Día de Muertos, el Museo de Historia de Missouri presenta este año un altar muy especial, creado por la artista plástica mexicana Rosalía Angulo, quien ha decidido dedicar su ofrenda a Anna, una loba gris mexicana que marcó historia en la conservación de su especie.
As part of the traditional Day of the Dead celebration, the Missouri History Museum presents a very special altar this year, created by Mexican visual artist Rosalía Angulo, who has chosen to dedicate her offering to Anna, a Mexican gray wolf whose story made history in the conservation of her species.
Rosalía, reconocida por sus obras realizadas en cartonería —una técnica tradicional mexicana a base de papel y cartón—, llena de color, textura y simbolismo cada pieza que conforma su altar. Entre ellas destacan catrinas, pan de muerto decorado con flores de cempasúchil, veladoras y elementos naturales que evocan el espíritu festivo y espiritual del Día de Muertos. Su trabajo no solo enriquece la estética de la exposición, sino que transmite un mensaje de vida, conexión y memoria.
Rosalía, renowned for her works in cartonería —a traditional Mexican technique using paper and cardboard— fills each piece of her altar with color, texture, and symbolism. Among the highlights are Catrinas, pan de muerto decorated with marigold flowers, candles, and natural elements that evoke the festive and spiritual essence of the Day of the Dead. Her work not only enhances the exhibition’s aesthetics but also conveys a message of life, connection, and memory.
Este año, Angulo decidió rendir homenaje a Anna, una loba gris mexicana que vivió en el Endangered Wolf Center de Eureka, Missouri, y cuya historia ha conmovido al mundo.
Nacida en el Día de la Tierra en 2001, Anna fue la única sobreviviente de su camada, y aunque nunca fue liberada al medio silvestre, se convirtió en la madre más prolífica de su especie: dio a luz a 41 crías en cuatro camadas, contribuyendo decisivamente a la recuperación del lobo gris mexicano, declarado extinto en 1980. This year, Angulo chose to honor Anna, a Mexican gray wolf who lived at the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, Missouri, and whose story has touched hearts worldwide. Born on Earth Day 2001, Anna was the only survivor of her litter. Although she was never released into the wild, she became the most prolific mother of her species, giving birth to 41 pups in four litters, playing a decisive role in the recovery of the Mexican gray wolf, declared extinct in 1980.

After her passing, just one day before her 14th birthday, Anna’s body was preserved by Schwarz Studios in St. Louis —the oldest taxidermy studio in the United States— and became part of the Missouri History Museum collections in 2016. Today, her figure can be admired in the Collected exhibit, continuing to inspire generations about the importance of conservation and ecological balance.

In Rosalía Angulo’s artistic vision,Anna transcends death to become a celestial alebrije. In the story told through the altar, upon arriving at the “afterlife of the dead,” Anna asks to stay close to the state that adopted her, Missouri. There, she transforms into a colorful alebrije with wings that recall the state’s rivers, the colors of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and the St. Louis Blues hockey team, autumn leaves, winter snowflakes, and the fleur-de-lis —the city’s symbol— engraved on her chest.

A unos días de la cumbre regenerativa entre Trump y Xi en Busan (Sudcorea), Putin develó su “game changer militar (Game changer de Putin: devela el inalcanzable misil Burevestnik; http://bit.ly/4obhHLP)”.
Just days before the regenerative summit between Trump and Xi in Busan (South Korea), Putin unveiled his military game changer — the elusive Burevestnik cruise missile (Putin’s Game Changer: The Unreachable Burevestnik Missile).
Llamó poderosamente la atención que Trump haya desechado despectivamente la notable prueba del misil crucero Burevestnik.
What drew particular attention was Trump’s dismissive attitude toward the remarkable test of the Burevestnik cruise missile.
Justamente a bordo del AirForce1, Trump comentó a los reporteros que “EU posee los mejores submarinos nucleares del mundo” cerca de las costas de Rusia—que, por cierto, es el mayor país del mundo con casi 18 millones de km2 (casi 2 veces el tamaño de EU) y una línea costera de 37,653km y 14 (sic) países fronterizos.

Russian philosopher and geopolitical thinker Alexander Dugin, closely linked to the military, responded: “We also have nuclear submarines very close to the U.S. coasts. I think the way Trump addresses Russia is very inappropriate. It forces us to demonstrate our strength. He’d better not do that” (source).

En medio de la subasta del ranking de los submarinos nucleares, Memphis Barker(MB), prominente corresponsal de Telegraph, pone en tela de juicio la utilidad del misil Burevestnik apodado “Skyfall” por la OTAN, que posee varios “inconvenientes” y que “significa nuevos desafíos para la OTAN, pero se ve obstaculizado por un ritmo lento (¡mega-sic!) y otros problemas (http://bit. ly/4nskQpi)”.
Amid this “auction” of nuclear submarine rankings,The Telegraph correspondent Memphis Barker (MB) questions the usefulness of the Burevestnik missile — nicknamed “Skyfall” by NATO — citing several “drawbacks,” stating that while it “poses new challenges for NATO,” it is “hindered by slow progress (mega-sic!) and other problems” (source).
MB comenta que el ejército de EU había experimentado durante la Guerra Fría la colocación de armas nucleares en misiles también de propulsión nuclear llamado Project Pluto que luego fueron almacenados a mitad de la década de los sesenta del siglo pasado debido a sus “serios riesgos” ya que “al colocar una bomba nuclear en un reactor nuclear, cualquier percance podría provocar

He further claims that “many analysts” — that old trick of citing unnamed sources — view the Burevestnik “more as a psychological threat or a bargaining chip that could give Moscow leverage in future arms control negotiations.”

As if that weren’t enough, Putin added that the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile would soon become operational: “There is no missile like the Sarmat in the world. We don’t yet have any in service, but it will soon be operational,” he said, adding that the Poseidon — with a range of 6,200 miles (nearly 10,000 km) — is significantly more powerful (mega-sic!) than the Sarmat itself.

En las asíntotas de los posicionamientos de Trump y Putin se pudiera aducir que Rusia restituyó la “estabilidad estratégica” con EU, si no es que ya rebasó a Washington en la carrera armamentista nuclear, como arguye Andrei Martyanov.

Se trata de un momento seminal en la transición del caduco orden unipolar, controlado por EU, hacia el nuevo orden multipolar, cuando ocurren tanto eventos destructivos como constructivos, cuyo efecto final definirán la Nueva Era del planeta.
This is a seminal moment in the transition from the outdated, U.S.-controlled unipolar order to the new multipolar order, when both destructive and constructive events occur, whose ultimate effect will define the planet’s New Era.
Sin menospreciar el “milagro de Gaza” que propició la enjundia del máximo mercadólogo de la Vía Láctea, el presidente estadunidense Trump---que por lo menos ya pasó la prueba de la “primera fase” en la Cumbre de Sharm El Sheikh---,se enfrenta, más allá de la segunda, no se diga la tercera, fase del plan de paz de Gaza ,que implícitamente apunta a todo el “Medio-Oriente” ---que había que definir geográficamente (http://
bit.ly/4nQKS6N), ---a la realidad de la nueva correlación dinámica de fuerzas en el planeta y a sus 2 principales puntos bélicos. Without downplaying the “Gaza miracle” driven by the prowess of the galaxy’s top marketer, U.S. President Trump—who at least has already passed the “first phase” test at the Sharm El Sheikh Summit—faces, beyond the second phase, not to mention the third, of the Gaza peace plan—which implicitly targets the entire “Middle East”—the reality of the new dynamic balance of power on the planet and its two main war hotspots.

Hace cinco años, la Fundación Vacation is a Human Right (VIAHR) decidió responder con acción: llevar la conversación sobre el burnout fuera de los consultorios y ponerla en el centro de la agenda empresarial y social. Desde entonces, cientos de profesionales y líderes han encontrado espacios para comprender, prevenir y gestionar el desgaste laboral.
Can we lead humanely in increasingly demanding environments? Five years ago, the Vacation is a Human Right Foundation (VIAHR) decided to respond with action: to take the conversation about burnout out out of the doctor’s office and put it at the center of the business and social agenda. Since then, hundreds of professionals and leaders have found spaces to understand, prevent and manage burnout.
En 2023, hace tres años, VIAHR abrió un Congreso Iberoamericano que unió a expertos, organizaciones y medios alrededor de una idea simple y poderosa: el descanso es un derecho humano y un antídoto probado contra el agotamiento. La segunda edición (2024) consolidó el enfoque con debates interdisciplinares y prácticas concretas desde pausas conscientes hasta políticas de desconexión. Ahora, el proyecto crece en Cartagena de Indias (20–23 de noviembre de 2025), con empresas, profesionales de primera línea, emprendedores y equipos que buscan construir culturas más saludables y sostenibles.
In 2023, three years ago, VIAHR opened an Ibero-American Congress that united experts, organizations, and media around a simple and powerful idea: rest is a human right and a proven
antidote to burnout. The second edition (2024) consolidated the approach with interdisciplinary debates and concrete practices from conscious pauses to disconnection policies. Now, the project is growing in Cartagena de Indias (November 20–23, 2025), with companies, frontline professionals, entrepreneurs, and teams looking to build healthier and more sustainable cultures.
La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) clasifica el burnout como un fenómeno ocupacional resultante del estrés crónico no gestionado en el trabajo. Lo describe por tres dimensiones: agotamiento, distancia mental/ cinismo y eficacia profesional reducida. Esta definición ha permitido a empresas y sistemas de salud adoptar criterios más claros para su detección y abordaje. TheWorld Health Organization (WHO) classifies burnout as an occupational phenomenon resulting from chronic unmanaged stress at work. He describes it by three dimensions: exhaustion, mental distance/cynicism and reduced professional effectiveness. This definition has allowed companies and health systems to adopt clearer criteria for its detection and approach.

The III Ibero-American Congress to Prevent Burnout will delve into four axes: human leadership and efficiency (load management, decision-making and healthy limits); work design and policies (flexibility, disengagement, wellbeing metrics); care of caregivers and essential professionals (health, education, care) and technology for well-being (tools to measure,
prevent and accompany).

Mientras el mundo se obsesiona con la salud física, una amenaza invisible avanza sin freno. El Alzheimer y otros tipos de deterioro cognitivo afectan ya a más de 55 millones de personas en el planeta. Cada tres segundos, alguien desarrolla demencia.Y si no actuamos, la cifra se duplicará en menos de 30 años. No hablamos solo de pérdida de memoria, sino también de identidad, autonomía, lenguaje, vínculos.
While the world obsesses over physical health, an invisible threat advances unchecked. Alzheimer’s and other types of cognitive decline already affect more than 55 million people worldwide. Every three seconds, someone develops dementia. And if we don’t act, that number will double in less than 30 years. This is not just about memory loss—it also affects identity, autonomy, language, and social connections.
Hablamos de una enfermedad que no tiene cura, pero sí prevención. Y ahí es donde entra el “brain training” —entrenamiento cerebral— como una necesidad urgente, no como una moda. ¿Por qué entrenar el cerebro debe ser como ir al gimnasio? Así como nadie discute hoy los beneficios de hacer ejercicio físico, el entrenamiento mental debe convertirse en un hábito de salud pública. No basta con comer bien o dormir mejor. El cerebro necesita desafíos, estímulos, coordinación, memoria activa, flexibilidad cognitiva. Necesita moverse. We are talking about a disease that has no cure, but it can be prevented. This is where “brain training” comes in—not as a trend, but as an urgent necessity. Why should training the brain be like going to the gym? Just as no one disputes the benefits of physical exercise today, mental training must become a public health habit. Eating well or sleeping better is not enough.
The brain needs challenges, stimuli, coordination, active memory, and cognitive flexibility. It needs to move.
En el futuro cercano, veremos surgir gimnasios mentales en cada ciudad: espacios donde se ejercite la mente con la misma disciplina con la que se tonifican los músculos. Serán centros de prevención, longevidad y bienestar cognitivo. Porque el cerebro también se entrena.
In the near future, we will see mental gyms emerge in every city: spaces where the mind is exercised with the same discipline used to tone muscles. They will be centers for prevention, longevity, and cognitive well-being. Because the brain also needs training.

Lunes – Coordinación y hemisferios
Monday – Coordination and Hemispheres
• Ejercicio 1: Dibujo en espejo (5 min). Toma dos lápices, uno en cada mano, y dibuja figuras simétricas al mismo tiempo
(como corazones, círculos o letras). Activa ambos hemisferios cerebrales y mejora la coordinación bilateral.
Exercise 1: Mirror drawing (5 min). Take two pencils, one in each hand, and draw symmetrical figures simultaneously (like hearts, circles, or letters). Activates both hemispheres and improves bilateral coordination.
• Ejercicio 2: Secuencias con dedos (5 min). Pulgar con índice, luego pulgar con medio, anular, meñique… y repite en orden inverso. Aumenta la velocidad cada día. Mejora la agilidad mental y la motricidad fina.
Exercise 2: Finger sequences (5 min). Thumb to index, then thumb to middle, ring, pinky… and repeat in reverse order. Increase speed daily. Improves mental agility and fine motor skills.
• Ejercicio 3: Cambio de ritmo con palmadas
(5 min). Golpea tus muslos con las manos en un ritmo constante (por ejemplo, 1-2-1-2), luego cambia a 1-2-3-1-2-3. Alterna ritmos sin perder el compás. Fortalece la atención, la memoria de trabajo y la coordinación motora.
Exercise 3: Rhythm change with claps (5 min). Tap your thighs with your hands in a steady rhythm (e.g., 1-2-1-2), then switch to 1-2-3-12-3. Alternate rhythms without losing the beat. Strengthens attention, working memory, and motor coordination.

Para la salsa de aguacate, licúa aguacate, yogur,
cilantro, ajo, jugo de limón y sal hasta obtener una mezcla suave y cremosa. Refrigera. Para la miel macha, combina la miel con la salsa macha hasta integrar. Ajusta el picante para no afectar el maridaje y reserva. Envuelve cada camarón con una loncha de jamón y dóralos en una sartén con un poco de aceite de oliva, 2–3 minutos por lado, hasta que el jamón esté crujiente. Para armar los tacos, calienta las tortillas, unta la salsa de aguacate, coloca tres camarones, añade un chorrito de miel macha y termina con brotes o microgreens. Sirve y saborea. For the avocado sauce, blend the avocado, yogurt, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and salt until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate. For the macha honey, mix the honey with the macha sauce until fully combined. Adjust the spice level to keep the pairing balanced, then set aside. MIAMI – Thousands of Hispanic families in the United States are making more active educational decisions than ever, but they still face information barriers. To respond to that need, Conoce tus Opciones Escolares, a program of the National School Choice Awareness Foundation (NSCAF), launched the Advanced K-12 Education Course for Parents, a free course in Spanish that explains in a practical and simple way how the education system works and what options are available to Hispanic families.
El lanzamiento coincide con una tendencia creciente: según una encuesta nacional realizada por National School Choice Awareness Foundation en junio de 2025, casi tres de cada cuatro padres hispanos (73 %) consideraron un

The launch coincides with a growing trend: According to a national survey conducted by the National School Choice Awareness Foundation in June 2025, nearly three in four Hispanic parents (73%) considered a school change last year, and more than half plan to do so again this year. St. Louis, Mo 10-18-2025.- Miles de personas salieron a las calles de Los Ángeles este fin de semana para participar en la creciente manifestación “No Kings”, un movimiento que busca defender los derechos de los inmigrantes y rechazar las políticas de deportación masiva del Gobierno de Donald Trump. Thousands of people took to the streets of Los Angeles this weekend to take part in the growing “No Kings” demonstration, a movement that seeks to defend the rights of immigrants and reject the mass deportation policies of the Donald Trump administration. Amid banners and chants, protesters expressed their desire to protect the constitution and fundamental freedoms that they say are being threatened.
