ROMAN CANDLE

The early 90’s were an incredible time fo EP was the format that delivered the most vital music of the era. Usually just 4 songs, these EPs were released as quickly as possible after being recorded, and had tracks that were often not found on the subsequent full-length LP.
We here at Outer Battery are looking to bring back the heady days of the 12” EP, and what better band to do that with than Swervedriver!
Back with their first new music in over 5 years, with 2 tracks recorded with Mark Gardener from Ride and the other 2 recorded by YouTube star Rick Beato, The World’s Fair EP is classic Swervedriver, with Beatlestinged hits like Pack Yr Vision and psychedelic freak-outs like The World’s Fair. This EP, pressed on orange vinyl, is not to be missed!

When she was a child and he a young father, Marc Ribot’s daughter drew a map of a city in deep, rich, vivid blue. When he praised her blue map, she corrected him: It’s not a blue map, but a map of a blue city. That distinction stuck with him and eventually inspired a curious song called “Map of a Blue City.
Map of a Blue City ruminates on what it means to be lost—the confusion and fear, of course, but also the excitement of so many undreamt-of possibilities. Its history is an odd map of its own, full of false starts, blind alleys, dead ends, and one inconceivable tragedy, all leading to what may be his definitive statement as an instrumentalist, as a songwriter, and even as a singer. While it’s not a singer-songwriter album, it is his first to center his plaintive, wise voice quite so prominently.
Map of a Blue City bears the weight of its history gracefully, incorporating recordings made over nearly half of Ribot’s life and reflecting on how he got to this particular moment. “Working on this album for so long, I’ve seen the world change dramatically and not really change at all. Some of the issues today are the same ones I thought about when I was just starting the album, but some are things I couldn’t have dreamt of at the time. But I think that’s why I was so determined to get the production values right. Recording production is really complicated, but it all boils down to what kind of room the listener feels they’re standing in. There are some hard truths and cold observations in these songs. I wanted the room to be small enough so that we couldn’t turn away: but warm enough to feel like you’re hearing it from a friend.”

Sun Ra’s Nuits de la Fondation Maeght recordings are legendary within his extensive canon. Across two nights in August 1970, these were the first concerts Ra and the Arkestra had performed outside North America and formed part of a stellar festival line-up alongside Albert Ayler, Cecil Taylor, LaMonte Young and Marian Zazeela
Prior to Maeght, The Arkestra’s early years in New York had been lean in terms of gigs, money and visibility Their precarious situation improved after Ra’s participation in the 1964 October Revolution concerts and the release of the breathtaking Heliocentric Worlds LPs A gradual increase in touring followed and talk had turned to brokering dates in Europe when they received an invitation to play at an art gallery in Southern France in 1970 Set in the medieval town of St Paul-de- Vence in Provence, the Fondation Maeght celebrated modern art in all its forms, housing work from some of the most important artists of the 20th Century including Matisse, Georges Braque, Chagall and Giacometti.
The Ra performance featured one of the great Arkestra line-ups with mainstays John Gilmore, Marshall Allen, Pat Patrick, Danny Davis and Danny Ray Thompson at the peak of their powers Festival curator Daniel Caux recalled, “The Arkestra’s performances were electrifying Films were projected behind the musicians - vistas of New York and Chicago, moon rockets, Egyptian Gods and plumed African warriors Sun Ra’s organ threw lightning bolts, dancers brandished symbolic objects The audience was stunned by a spectacle that surpassed anything they could have imagined”
Originally released across two edited volumes by Shandar in 1971, the concerts are now being reissued by Strut across 4 CD’s. The set features a 36-page booklet featuring liner notes by Daniel Caux, Jacqueline Caux and Paul Griffiths and stunning restored photos of the festival by Philippe Gras.

In honour of fifty years in the performing arts dating back to the founding of the legendary band The Pyramids in 1972 Idris Ackamoor proudly presents “Artistic Being” for Record Store Day 2025. This special recording features celebrated San Francisco actor, activist, and author Danny Glover, alongside renowned stage actress Rhodessa Jones.
In February 2024 Ackamoor’s performing arts company, Cultural Odyssey, partnered with The Lab, a prominent San Francisco venue, to co-present "Underground Jazz Cabaret" during Black History Month Ackamoor expressed: “Collaborating with Danny Glover and Rhodessa Jones, two of the most revered Artistic Beings, was a profound honour Their unwavering dedication to ‘art as social activism’ feels more urgent and necessary than ever. ” The performance brought together new and classic works from Idris Ackamoor and his Ankhestra, including members of The Pyramids The evening’s score served as a connective thread, weaving together a libretto that spans from the haunting legacy of the Middle Passage to contemporary meditations and dreams for the future.
Both Danny Glover and Rhodessa Jones lent their distinctive voices to a series of powerful spoken-word musical tone poems. Among these were "Grandma Cole Story," a poignant indictment of the slave trade told through the eyes of a ten-year-old African girl aboard a slave ship, and "China Lane Suite," which explores a forbidden romance between a Chinese laundry owner and a freed slave during Reconstruction. Glover also contributed his original work, "In God’s Country," a moving homage to his mother The evening concluded with Ackamoor’s latest composition, "Now!," a striking reflection on the crises facing the Middle East today. All the narratives were underscored by an evocative score composed and arranged by Ackamoor himself, performed by his newly expanded 14-piece Ankhestra.
This performance not only celebrated a milestone in Ackamoor’s illustrious career but also exemplified the transformative power of art in addressing the pressing social issues of our time

“Phi-Psonics is a spiritual exploration of being together and connecting,” says acoustic bassist Seth Ford-Young of the immersive project he initiated in East Los Angeles in 2016. “From the beginning, I wanted to explore a contemplative sound, to create music that can be useful to listen to when you’re in a place of being more meditative, and maybe needing a break from the cacophony of the world.”
For his third long-player under the Phi-Psonics banner, Ford-Young marshalled a series of live recordings at the Healing Force Of The Universe record store in Pasadena, sculpting fourteen tracks, largely composed in the moment with a fluctuating cast of players, which wonderfully transmit his ideals of community and inner peace.
Called ‘Expanding To One’, it features exquisitely calming yet searching pieces like ‘There’s Still Hope’, where Seth’s softly undulating bassline underpins beatific explorations from core Phi-Psonics members, Sylvain Carton and Randal Fisher (both on saxophone), and Josh Collazo (drums), alongside guests Zach Tenorio (Wurlitzer piano) and Mathias Künzli (percussion). Equally sublime, ‘Healing Time’ ripples like a mountain stream, with Ford-Young, Carton, Fisher and Tenorio joined by Minta Spencer (harp), Dylan Day (guitar) and, on drums/percussion, Jay Bellerose, a revered LA stickman most recently under the spotlight in Jeff Parker ETA IVtet.
These exquisite recordings were captured at six fortnightly ticketed sessions at Healing Force in February-April 2024, with sixty-odd fans and locals sitting in rapt attention as the players improvised together. For Seth, the venture was partially a reaction to the brutality of COVID lockdown.
“That experience of being isolated really brought into focus how important being together is,” he says. “That’s really what we have. We have all these other ways of connecting, like via the internet, but actually being together in person, there’s no substitute for it. So, I was like, ‘Alright, I want to do something that brings people together, and builds communities.’”
As much a performance space as a record store, the room at Healing Force Of The Universe (named after the Albert Ayler album from 1970) allowed for studio-quality recording of rare warmth and definition, and Ford-Young wisely chose to present the material as a studio album, benefitting from the energy of the moment shared by all those in attendance across those six sessions, but editing out the crowd noise to let the music stand timelessly – the best of both worlds.
As the world opened up again, and social boundaries became less distanced once more, Seth very consciously took his creativity back towards the spontaneous, and opened up Phi-Psonics to broaden his community, and to improvise music collectively without too much prescribed in advance.
“I thought, ‘Let’s involve some more musicians, different instruments, people that I've played with on other things… Some of them had even sat in with the band at different gigs and stuff, so let's bring them in and really involve them in the recording, and just expand things.’ That's why I called the album ‘Expanding to One’.”
“I feel like the whole record is a document of a time and a place,” he goes on by way of summary. “There's a music community in Los Angeles right now which is doing special things, and that's part of why I chose the various people, because they’re doing beautiful work, and are of a similar mind. So, it’s all about capturing that moment”.
The audiences on each night, he says, were “an intentional listening crowd”, seated on beanbags, eyes closed, drifting with the gentle tides of the music. Experiencing ‘Expanding To One’ in the comfort of their own home, listeners can now share in that moment, and immerse themselves in the gentle beauty of Phi-Psonics musical world.

Pale Saints complete their series of 30th anniversary reissues with the release of an expanded edition of their third and final album, Slow Buildings. By 1994, they were the quartet of Meriel Barham (vocals / guitar), Chris Cooper (drums), Graeme Naysmith (guitar) and Colleen Browne (bass guitar/vocals), who having just left The Heart Throbs replaced founding member Ian Masters who had departed the band to form Spoonfed Hybrid with AC Temple’s Chris Trout. Primed by the brilliant single ‘Fine Friend’ (a song adapted from 1981’s ‘Poison in the Airwaves’ by Scottish band Persian Rugs), third album Slow Buildings shows the band still venturing forward – this time, keeping the experimentation and guitar fuzz of their early records whilst opening-up their songs so Meriel’s vocals could hit new, pop heights.
As with the 30th anniversary reissues of their previous two albums, this special pressing sees this long out of print record being remastered and expanded to include a wealth of bonus material that’s sure to delight fans. Working with mastering engineer Kevin Vanbergen, this new edition runs over two discs with the album being packaged with the Fine Friend EP and a great selection of previously unheard tracks and demos as handpicked by the band.
A record that stands the test of time 30 years on, Slow Buildings is well worthy of reappraisal. This reissue is being released in the memory of Graeme Naysmith.

“A bold investigation of a woman’s journey through self-acceptance and the systemic issues fuelling her personal struggles.”
Lisa Germano’s landmark 1994 album, Geek The Girl, is a prescient yet unsettling listen. A record that explores themes of stalking, sexual harassment, anxiety and the female experience, word of mouth has only grown since its release.
A record that is as vital a statement today as when first released, Lisa is unflinching and unbowed throughout Geek The Girl, giving a platform to the silenced, or as she says, “people who are stuck but want to go somewhere else.” Writing with a raw, emotional honesty – sometimes from a kowtowing perspective – she holds little back. An incredible body of work, the atmosphere is heightened by a jaunting violin sound and her use of (with permission and after much deliberation) of a real 911 call in which a woman confronts an intruder in her own home. Her recurring use of Sicilian folk tune ‘Frascilita’ as an interlude jars too, even though she intended for it to give the album some needed “comic relief.”
Ranked in SPIN Magazine’s Top 100 albums of the 90s, Geek The Girl is unlike most music of the period and a testament to both Lisa’s artistry and courage. Working with Abbey Road Studios in London, the album has been remastered for its 30th anniversary and has had both ‘Cry Wolf’ b-side ‘The Mirror Is Gone’ and 5 track pre-cursor EP, Inconsiderate Bitch, added to deliver the complete package.

Emptyset, James Ginzburg and Paul Purgas, explore both spatial and physical properties of sound; specifically the perceptible boundaries between it and noise. They have produced installations for Tate Britain and the Architecture Foundation in London. Emptyset’s new album Dissever continues their exploration of the histories of 20th century electronic sound and media. Dissever delves into the intertwined evolution of cosmic rock, minimalism and electronic music, viewed through their prospective dreams and overlapping technological ambitions. Premiered at Tate Modern as a live performance, Dissever was part of the exhibition Electric Dreams, a large-scale survey of the global history of art and technology. The resulting album is astoundingly sublime, rich with sonics that are as thrilling and immediate as they are singular and dense with complexity.
The compositions across Dissever draw threads from pioneering production methods emerging in parallel across the late 1960’s, considering the cross talk between these fields and their radical intentions to carve out the future from differing paths, traversing the mystical and modern, while incorporating elements of the transformative, hypnotic, expansive and transcendent to define new principles within sound. The arrangements, performed live and captured in single takes, emerged across a series of sessions at long term collaborator Mat Sampson’s recording studio in Bristol. This process revisited early hardware, spatial and multitrack recording techniques to create a dynamic body of material that could look back to these foundational musical forms and converge them through the lens of a reimagined timeline, cultivating a transmission from 1969 to the present and a sensory bridge to the past.

“The sparse, minimal, glacially evolving throbs of the duo Emptyset explore the area where electronic sound meets our fragile reality — silence, feedback, room ambience. For its sixth album, “Blossoms,” the group allowed machine-learning software to gobble up Emptyset records and hours of percussion jams. It threw up a convulsing, mutated, Cronenberg-ian tantrum of rhythmic confusion.” - New York Times
“However you or I might feel about almost-literal computer music is beside the point. The strong sense of perpetual emergence – of listening in on an intelligent system gaining confidence – makes Blossoms an especially remarkable listen.” - The Quietus

Thalia Zedek’s considerable body of work demonstrates a clarity of vision, a singular performance style, and an expansive range. Her ability to deliver raw emotions through her vivid stories of loss and hope, strife and triumph is unmatched. Zedek has long been a melodic songwriter in a series of heavy bands. That contrast, alongside her distinct blend of both direct and poetic lyrics, allows her to sing of the most difficult of life’s moments in ways that are both elevating and devastating. Out and proud her entire career, Zedek never hesitates to speak truth to power. The Boat Outside Your Window finds Zedek contemplating absence and distance, with songs as spirited as they are profoundly moving.
The band is guitarist and vocalist Zedek, bassist Winston Braman, and drummer Gavin McCarthy (Karate), now joined by newest member, pedal steel guitarist Karen Sarkisian. On The Boat Outside Your Window, Sarkisian’s counter melodies and oblique augmentations created with non-traditional tools like an ebow, add an otherworldly quality to songs. The grit of Zedek’s guitar and drive of Braman and McCarthy are met with synth-like swells and more harmonic density. The album features guests Nancy Asch (percussion) and Beth Heinberg (piano) whose subtle touches are added to “Shoes” and “Aliyah”. The record was recorded with Andy Hong, mixed by Seth Manchester, and mastered by Sarah Register
The energetic “Tsunami” intertwines the personal and the political, the rising waves of pedal steel surround the song’s core of Zedek’s guitar lines. “Aliyah”’(meaning rising, ascending, exalted) is a song about the ancient tower of Babel and the utter communication breakdown that humankind is currently in the midst of. “Disarm”’ deals with personal separation and reunification while “Circus,” looks at broader helplessness and loss of control. “Boat” gorgeously captures the beauty and pain of seeing a person one misses in one’s surroundings. The poignant “Shoes”, a song inspired by Berlin, braids haunting images of the past with an unsettling present. Throughout the album, Zedek deftly uncovers how external realities manifest in our internal worlds.
Zedek’s mastery of songwriting is on full display on The Boat Outside Your Window. Her unique musical voice remains potent and pointed. Cultivating her sound with purpose and an unflinching view of humanity, Zedek’s words and music are both invigorating, and capable of deep emotional complexities. The Boat Outside Your Window is Thalia Zedek reaching new heights, reinforcing her status as a peerless songwriter and voice.

A double LP package from Bardo Pond, combining two of their super rare jam volumes on vinyl for the first time. A further edition in this celebrated series, ‘Volume 4’ and ‘Volume 5’ feature more freeform improvisational pieces from the hypnotic Philadelphia outfit.
Capturing the raw essence of the band, whose fearless exploration blurs the lines between structure, chaos, melody and noise. Bardo Pond's music traverses space rock, acid rock, post-rock, shoegaze, noise, Krautrock and psychedelia.
‘Volume 4’ hails from self-released sessions recorded in January 2002, its five tracks include the supremely tripped out heaviness of ‘K2’ and the balance-shifting ‘New Drunks (Revisited)’ with Isobel Sollenberger’s exquisite and, frankly, quite disturbing vocal. They’re shorter interrogations of sound by Bardo terms, almost succinct in their mesmerising riffage and off-kilter arrangements.
By contrast, ‘Volume 5’ consists of two lengthy mantras recorded between 2000 and 2004 and released as the tape spool spiralled out. ‘FUFO’ sounds like Cluster unravelling with Merzbow mixing, a post-industrial slew of hypnotic proportions, while ‘Monarch’ begins as a Current 93-like neo-folk mood piece before evolving into a wailing slice of drone-drenched Americana by way of a Velvets’ jam.
“We were pushing improvisations as far as we could. It was glorious having the studio. The more that our heads were spinning after a session, the better we knew that session would sound when we listened back. We were getting together two nights a week, usually three or four hours working on material and songs and the other half the time letting loose. Volumes 4 and 5 gather together some of these improvisations, and one early song that we felt like doing.” Adds Michael Gibbons of Bardo Pond.
“One of underground rock's most extraordinary enigmas, a majestic command of sound.” The Quietus
Jesse Quebbeman-Turley says that their debut full-length, Hosana: the Messe de Nostre Dame is a “reflection on our simultaneously real and fictive relationships to the past.” That is a conceptuallybold claim, but one that Quebbemen-Turley and the music itself robustly back up
Effectively an abstracted cover of Medieval French composer Guillaume de Machaut’s Messe de Nostre Dame, Hosana is aesthetically profound, centering minimalist weavings of harpsichord, guitar, synthesizer, saxophone, bass clarinet, voice, and the tuning fork organ (played by its inventor, Davy Sumner). Quebbeman-Turley’s extensive use of what they call rhythmic harmony creates a sense of infinite sonic combinations of cycling, hypnotic sounds –– pulsing, loping, often subtle but ultimately ecstatic and intimate.
During his life, Guillaume de Machaut created the Ferrell-Vogüé Codex, a self-archival project that was entirely unique for the time In this codex, Machaut included his music, poetry, and a collection of illustrations and calligraphy, even selecting the binding himself This codex is the site of the Messe de Nostre Dame, which is the earliest surviving Mass with a single author
“I am drawn,” Quebbeman-Turley says, “to the clarity of Machaut's gesture” via the codex Quebbeman-Turley sees desire, a reaching forward into a future unknown, and they are compelled to, in a sense, reciprocate the gesture. Quebbeman-Turley is influenced in part by their Mormon upbringing, saying that the belief system, as both a spiritual and intellectual framework, places poetic significance on concepts of temporality and eternity
“I crave collaboration with Machaut,” Quebbeman-Turley says. And while of course that is not possible –– nor is direct knowledge of what Machauts music sounded like in any of the particular rooms in which he performed it, nor what was the on the minds of his listeners, and so on –– Quebbeman-Turley seeks and finds meaning in a kind of fictionalization of their connection to Machaut “In a sense,” Quebbeman-Turley says, “I believe the relation to be real but the material of the connection to be fiction.”

Quebbeman-Turley's extensive work as a session drummer, recording with artists Cherry Glazerr, Eyvind Kang & Jessika Kenney, Buck Meek, Meernaa, The Army The Navy, Jerry Paper has connected them to the musicians on this recording: Patrick Shiroishi, Luke Williams, Gregory Ulhmann, Logan Hone, and Davy Sumner.
The pleasures of rhythm pervade all of Quebbeman-Turley’s work and their playing on Hosana –– particularly of the harpsichord –– is certainly the playing of a percussionist. But it is also the playing –– and the compositions –– of an artist whose sense of eternity and matters of the spirit is vividly animated

Zuhour (flowers in Arabic) is an album of improvised pieces by the duo of guitarists Ayman Fanous and Joe Morris. While firmly rooted in the free jazz idiom, the pieces veer into unexpected territory, including flamenco and musique concrète. Both guitarists employ a wide array of techniques, from traditional plectrum approaches to fingerstyle and extended techniques. Although the pieces are entirely unplanned, they sometimes sound throughcomposed, due to Fanous and Morris’ sympathetic deep listening and generosity. This results in music that is warm, spontaneous, and unpredictable, where figure and ground merge imperceptibly and kaleidoscopic
Logan Richard is one of music’s rarest creatures—a compelling and diverse songwriter who also shreds.
The P.E.I.-born-and-based artist has been sharpening both skills since he rst picked up the guitar as a pre-teen, building a reputation as a deft, genre- uid songsmith and peerless hired gun for some of Canada’s most exciting musicians. But his new full-length, Character Traits, collects the undeniable evidence of his talents under his own name as he navigates slick pop, spacey R&B, and soulful folk. As the thesis song and title track attests, he’s a 21st-century renaissance man in both skill and style.
In uenced by his axe-slinging brother, artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer, his dad’s record collection, and his Acadian mom’s ddle-playing family, Logan hit the stage at just 12 years old, cutting his teeth playing gigs around the island he still calls home. He’s built his career as both a solo artist and in-demand live and session player, racking up experience over more than a decade and playing everywhere from dim blues dives to historical soft-seaters.
“‘Character Traits’ was the very last song that I wrote for the record. It came together in one sitting, which doesn't happen to me very often,” Logan says. “That song tied everything together—I don’t think there are any two songs on the album that sound super similar to each other. Each song touches on a di erent genre and lyrical theme. They all represent separate little character traits. They all reveal di erent aspects of who I am.”
Character Traits is the inevitable result of commitment to craft. It is a collection of considered and close-to-the-heart songs that provide a detailed picture of a songwriter hitting his stride.

Mr. Luck & Ms. Doom, The Delines fourth full-length release, follows romantic misfits and grifters as they drift across the United States, living out of suitcases and cars, hoping that in the next town or city will be the score that saves them. Mr. Luck & Ms. Doom features 11 new songs penned by novelist and songwriter Willy Vlautin, whose lyrics transport the listener inside the lives of these lost drifters. Recorded at Bocce Studios, with longtime collaborator John Morgan Askew, the record features Amy Boone’s lush, world worn voice, the cinematic production skills of Askew, and the horn and string arrangement of Delines keyboardist and trumpeter, Cory Gray. This is wide screen, CinemaScope, Delines at their best.

Soft Ffog is a Norwegian progressive jazz-rock band celebrated for its exceptional virtuosity and high musicianship levels. The band combines intricate jazz improvisation with rock elements, creating a dynamic and engaging listening experience that showcases precision and creativity.
On their second album Focus, the band is more progrock than ever. The Soft is Ffoggier and the Ffog is softer. Highly influenced by 70s underground heroes like Camel and Focus, sprinkled with that old jazz dust, this new record should satisfy all you 70s nostalgics with a jazz tickle out there!
The combined members of Soft Ffog have probably played with everyone in the Norwegian jazz scene, but here they do their own thing. All songs are composed by Tom Hasslan, and the band is playing his compositions like there’s no tomorrow. But then again, there will probably be a tomorrow, and then you buy the record, and «YoU Will Be happy» !!

“caroline’s self-titled debut album is a thing of rich and rare emotional power” - The Quietus
Ever evolving London-based eight-piece ensemble caroline return with their first new music in three years.
“The first record was a compilation, but this one is a declaration,” says Jasper Llewellyn.
Fleshed out over several songwriting trips across Scotland, France and England, caroline’s second album picks up where its predecessor left off, but in many, many others, it finds them breaking new ground. It makes for a record of extraordinary scope – where the organic and the artificial, the harsh and the beautiful, the pristine and the hazy all clash and combine.
‘Tell me I never knew that’ welcomes a new voice entirely in Caroline Polachek. A mutual fan, Polachek agreed not only to contribute to a song, but to push it even further. “She was a force to be reckoned with,” says O’Malley. “She was singing for five or six hours, writing new harmonies.”
On caroline 2, what were once incidental moments have become an intentional centerpiece. On ‘Coldplay cover’ (a joke name that ended up sticking), half of the band started playing in their manager’s living room, the other half in the kitchen, while engineer Syd Kemp physically took a microphone from one room to the other.
There are many other worlds to be found across this record –There are earthly sweeps of strings, starkly manipulated vocals, low resonant drones, fractured snippets of field recordings and a great heaving sound – heavily distorted acoustic instruments –
Constantly shifting, but consistently magnificent.

NO EXPORT TO UK/EU/AUS./ NEW ZEALAND, TO BE POSSESSED IN ALL OTHER TERRITORIES!
2025: YOLO. With the quickness, time’s still slipping into the future so fast at times, you may think the end’s in sight up ahead, or that you’ve outrun the long trail of history behind. All that’s absurd, man. Take it from Ty Segall. He’s been on a few trips around the sun himself, making records in orbit as he charts his path forward. Modern life is here to stay, but also (to quote an old civil war scribe), everything rocks and nothing dies so for Possession, Ty ’s 16th album, he strikes up the orchestra in his head with an abiding view of some quintessentially American stories, a quest channeled into ten non-stop bangers. Because you gotta move or something might be catching you!
A year and a half removed from the trenchant identity opus of his Three Bells song cycle, Ty ’s beamed himself out from deep within psychic interiors. Hitting the trail beneath the big skies of our good ol’ frontier empire, he’s on the hunt for new horizons and it’s frankly astonishing to hear, at this mature point in his discography, the discovery of invigorated new sonics around every bend. That’s simply what Ty does with his music. Here, compulsive rhythm arrangements are joined in battle by sweeping movements of strings and horns that further the charge righteously.
Recently available from Ty Segall:
Be it de Toqueville, duBois, George H. Nash, Howard Zinn, Bob Dylan or Smile-era Beach Boys, it doesn’t matter where you get your history: whether you wanna party like it’s 1999 or 1699, the stories you like to tell yourself tend to reinforce what you already believe. But what if they didn’t? Here, coursing through the irresistibly high music spirits, Ty foists social concepts that you won’t read about in school. In the process, he manages to slip discreetly in and out of the ranks of silver-tongued bums, fly-by-nights and way-outs like Cheap Trick and Steely Dan, never tarrying long enough to retain their distinctive ordure.
One of the keys to this new music involved tapping an old friend and collaborator, filmmaker Matt Yoka, to write with him. As a non-musician, Matt ’s language sense is different from the one Ty ’s amassed as a player of music. With the trust they’ve developed over the years brainstorming the visual worlds of Goodbye Bread, Manipulator, Emotional Mugger, and plenty more they throw the conceptual ball back and forth to translate general vibes and feels into wicked lyric imagery, each acting as writer and editor in the process.
Through these lyric sets, Ty found new scansion and different shapes suggesting the qualities of the songs, and of an overall arrangement sense. That’s where the other keys came in piano keys! Ty ’s been woodshedding on the 88s, the 76s and/or the 61s; they add new outlines and shadings to the music, fortifying his fantastic plastic vision left and right. Rife with singing guitar leads and Wizzardian brass n’ reeds lustily riffin’ on the banks of Ty ’s harmony vocal choir, Possession features some of Ty ’s most inspired songs to date.
It’s a post–"Paradise City" map of the American way, moving and grooving, but not pointing fingers even as childish fantasies splatter across the windshield. Taking back alleys through complicated cityscapes, ripping riffs jaggedly out of past hits for a new purpose, Ty scans the wreckage scattered all around, singing about the end of the rope while resisting defeat suggesting an ecstatic new empire to build as he cruises the countryside in his glittering craft. Joy of Counterclockwise
Celestial Bell
Faun Fables, the long-running collaboration between Dawn McCarthy and Nils Frykdahl, have returned with Counterclockwise, the follow-up to 2016’s Born of the Sun. With the longest space between albums in the band’s twenty-seven year history, the nature of time and experience spent raising a family and negotiating life’s changes have much to do with the incredible listening companion Faun Fables have gifted us here.
Counterclockwise’s songs and production are the most encompassing, richly lived-in sonic world of their seven full-length albums. From start to finish, it is an exquisitely etched portrait of their aesthetic and worldview: colorfully studded with fine-hewed jewels of song, tinged with the traditional sounds of past and future nations.
Their timeless “songtelling” practice is entwined with a holistic view of a life in music embracing and celebrating the mundane details of home, partnering and family, elevated by a mystical and fantastical perspective. The new discovery here is their creative relationship with time. As Dawn notes in the album liner:
“Time… the most fertile & playful of mediums, though full of mist... We mustn’t forget time offers itself first as something to be creatively shaped.”
To this end, the title conception of “counterclockwise” spins alternatively to the accepted definition of going against the grain of time. In the Faun family, the passage of time is an affirmative process evolving through old and new generations. Their time in the world is an exception to the view of aging into infirmity and death. Instead, it is one of eternal return, of thought, belief and shared experience living on, becoming young and growing again. And again!
Counterclockwise began to take form in 2020, its songs brought together from over a span of fifteen years. Some came from commissioned projects about werewolves, Mother Goose and other fairy tales. Others were rooted in familial traditions: “The Wedding” was conceived as an ideal air to be sung at such a gathering; “Lullaby,” a bedtime melody for children, and “Ember Bell,” a meditation on the organic complexities of pregnancy. “Widdershins,” “Woolsey Street & the Lake of Fire,” “Hiawatha,” and “Black Angels (Czarne Anioły)” have been featured on recent Faun Fables tours and so represent time in the world before Counterclockwise. Similarly, several cover songs salute crucial companions from different points in their individual and collective lives, making deep cuts from Yes and the Bee Gees as well as the theme song to 70s television program Grizzly Adams into further chapters of shaped time, well lived and loved, to indelibly light this collection.
Counterclockwise is the first Faun Fables album engineered and produced by Dawn and Nils from start to finish. Taking the wheel in the tradition of the engineers that taught them, they have created a living atmosphere of songs and family. The chiming and twinkling of bells throughout evokes the richness of the years and the passage of time. Highlighting the spirit of play, Nils brings his multi-instrumental vision (as heard in Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and Free Salamander Exhibit), contributing on guitar, bass, flutes, voice, glockenspiel, drums, harmonium, trombone and tenor sax. Dawn and Nils’ wide-ranging vocal harmony tradition is enriched by the voices of their daughters Edda, Ura and Gudrin, who contribute on keyboards and percussion, as well. Norwegian guitarist Arild Hammerø lends his singular guitar craft on the songs “Ember Bell”, “Hiawatha”, “Wonderous Stories” (on which he also sings) and “Maybe”, as well as the final, essential sounds that close the album.
Dedicated with love to Dawn’s late father, Edward ‘Will’ McCarthy, Counterclockwise is an evocation of the essential truth and joy of Faun Fables’ relationship with time, the greatest value they can imagine to give to anyone who listens to their music.

Drag City and Yoga Records are delighted to return to the music of Matthew Young Following Recurring Dreams (1981, reissued 2014) and Traveler's Advisory (1986, reissued 2010 ), Undercurrents (2025) collects eight oddly dissimilar pieces that somehow fit together perfectly. Although unique enough to be called outsider, Young’s new album occupies a musical world accessible to fans of many genres.
Matthew Young, born in 1950, grew up in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. When he showed early musical interest, his parents bought an upright piano, and Matthew began taking lessons. In his teens, he attended concerts by Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, and Count Basie, and grew up to discover iconoclasts such as Eric Satie, Charles Ives, John Cage, Harry Partch, Brian Eno, and experimental rock groups such as Can and Harmonia. He also regularly attended and played at folk music gatherings in the nearby New Jersey Pine Barrens.
In the late ’70s, Young took a summer seminar on computer music at Princeton taught by Richard Cann and Michael Dellaira. Inspired, Young bought his own EMS Synthi and Revox tape recorder and began working on electronic music at home. His music began to appear in local theater productions, leading to the 1981 release of Recurring Dreams, through New York distributor NMDS. The Trenton Times described the record as “an album of liquid, effervescent keyboard tones; tingling, trembling notes; and surprising, occasionally bizarre effects.” Later, Young became obsessed with the hammered dulcimer, and in 1986 he released a new album, Traveler's Advisory, which featured the instrument prominently, along with electronics, tape effects, and his first foray into vocals.
Composed and recorded over the span of several decades, Undercurrents displays the wide range of Young’s various sonic pallets: similar to Recurring Dreams, the electronic landscapes meander coherently, and much like Traveler's Advisory, the album skews from the nearly algorithmic computer music of side one to the moving pastoral folk of the second.
On the opener “Reflexion,” a quartet of marimbas twist and turn over each other, while in “One and All,” a harp melody is overtaken by various electronic effects. The 12-minute title track is an abstract weaving of piano and synthesis, with the six sections named after oceanic currents. “A Game of Chess, a Game of Chance” consists of sparse electronic tones created on the Princeton University IBM mainframe during his studies in 1976. This all makes way for the second half of Undercurrents, where settings of Marion Lineaweaver 's poems, “The Summer Girls” and "Her Key is Minor," showcase Young's honest, fragile vocal approach, conveying a deep sense of soulful longing, and the latter even sweetly approaching something akin to synthpop. The piano on "Inflexion" calls back to the end of “Reflexion," and in the album closer, “Into the Woods,” Young plays the hammered dulcimer with the disciplined reverence of an alchemist.
Simply put, Undercurrents is a triumph across many musical realms … this is Matthew Young’s world.

“In a manner befitting the everyday otherworldliness of Michael Smith’s work, I was 13 when I first stumbled on his work through Public TV’s Image Union. His “Secret Horror” was a hilarious, deadpan and appropriately unflinching look into the abyss. This superimposition of states had a profound impact on my life and work, to this day. This boxset is the doorway into that world, Mike’s World, that will throw you for a loop, wild-eyed and helpless.”
— Jim O’Rourke, 2025
For five decades, Michael Smith’s performance art has inhabited bland domestic spaces; mass media and its promise to keep us company; and failing business ventures that misread the moment. Through art installations, theater, video, television and live performances, Smith’s comedic work lives inside the identity models that both constitute and disassociate our shared experience. His two performance personae, Mike and Baby Ikki, plumb the depths of American culture to perform the discrepancies between what is promulgated by controlling interest and what actually exists in reality of day-to-day worlds. Like culture itself, Smith’s is forever in and out of time. MIKE’S BOX is an immersive 8-disc DVD collection of his work up until now.
In the 1970s, the idea of the American everyman was rarely questioned. The '50s postwar aspiration for blessed conformity had been a primary objective of the powers that be, continually hammered into everyone’s home via that ubiquitous box, the TV set. Whether programming or advertising (did it matter?), images of the happy homemaker, the man in the grey flannel suit and like-minded citizens flooded the country with an irradiant stream of optimistic content meant to whitewash and anesthetize the American public. Although developments in the late '60s offered a new appraisal of everyday life, it was apparent that this approach was not easily processed by the general population, and the status quo remained intact. The Silent Majority were as the name implies everywhere and nowhere. In some places, it felt like the 1950s hadn’t ended at all; a decade with no term limit. So, who were ‘us/we’, anyway? It felt increasingly urgent to reevaluate old world values with those surfacing in an alienated youth culture. As this alienation continued to grow, it appeared that this was the primary issue that everyone could agree upon.
Enter Mike, who, along with his contemporaries on the NYC art scene of the 1970s and ‘80s (a sprawling group spread across disciplines, including but not limited to Laurie Anderson, Eric Bogosian, Andy Kaufman, Mike Kelley, Cindy Sherman, and the many freaks feeding the nascent Saturday Night Live franchise), was inclined to disengage the frame of reference from the traditional rarified “white cube” context, and instead insert his practice in relation to everyday life and the institutions exerting control over it. The absurdities we now find ourselves culturally awash in, like ‘meta’ and ‘reality show’, weren’t yet on the table. Smith’s early videos, like “Down in the Rec Room,” “It Starts at Home” and “Secret Horror,” suggested that the world we live in is only as normal as we suspect it is which means, irretrievably strange as well.
MIKE’S BOX covers Smith's career from the ‘70s to the present, collecting his infamous and prescient performances, installations and videos (many only previously seen at galleries and museums within the fine art context), as well as forms more accessible to a general audience: comedy shows, cable access programs and musical theater. MIKE’S BOX also contains the complete collaborative video work of Smith with both Joshua White and Doug Skinner, as well as his team-ups with William Wegman, Seth Price, Mike Kelley and many others. It is accompanied by a richly illustrated book that includes an essay by Tim Griffin, and features documentation from shows exhibited at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Museo Jumex, along with filmed conversations between the artist, curators and collaborators.

Repressed LP on Neon Orange Vinyl, includes download card. It feels like someone left the light on in the studio and it all just ran itself, there had been a funky human input earlier in the day but, by a Darwinian machine-led kind of osmosis, the tracks recorded spent the wee small hours self-reducing and simplifying themselves. Marinated in music. “I believe more in the scissors than I do in the pencil,” said Truman Capote. ”Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” opined Leonardo da Vinci much earlier in proceedings. Yes, it’s the space around the object, what you leave out that makes what you leave in so important. ESG know this. Sure they can play the game but it’s the swagger of the groove and the minimal topping –like an anti-cup cake – that makes this unique New York sisterhood so appealing on ‘Keep On Moving’. Sampled on TV ads, lauded by critics and swooned over on the dancefloor, ESG’s post-punk took out the grunge and polished the basics. Cut them open and “less is more” is written all the way through. ‘Keep On Moving’ was released over ten years ago to much praise (Q said it was “even better” than 2002’s much loved ‘Step Off’). ESG had been sparring partners for PiL and early hip hop and four years after the ‘Off’, they were onto something new – rhythm as core, reflective storylines about relationship management, sensuality and insanity gather around the bass fix but they’re much blurrier than the incessant beats. Inadvertently they unmask techno and glitch and leave out any kind of superfluous fluff. It’s hard and temple throbbing. Turn it up. And keep moving.
809236002969
Repressed LP on Neon Orange Vinyl 35-year anniversary release of the classic genrebusting debut album by the Bronx sisters ESG The sample-friendly opus that’s the inspiration for hip-hop, house and post punk. Music that falls outside of the no wave, new wave and post punk library, it’s for the dance floor but it’s not funk, there’s no horns, no driving organ; it’s the opposite of Sly And The Family Stone but no less cool and no less groovy. “A lasting document of their unique brand of minimal funk that would influence subsequent post-punk, hip-hop, and dance music acts. Stripped down to the most basic of drumbeats and rudimentary bass lines, ‘Come Away’ confirms the notion that the real rhythm is what happens between the beats.
809236002945
Repressed LP on Neon Orange Vinyl “ESG's fusion of sweet soul and punk attitude with an intuitive understanding of dance music remains.” The Guardian “This is still funk with an alien otherworldliness the likes of which George Clinton never envisioned, stripped to its barest essentials for maximum impact.” All Music “ESG are as cool as ever.” The Guardian Pumping their way out of the South Bronx of New York in the early 80s, this rhythm and dance-punk outfit made unforgettable funk that was also unusually rooted in post-punk. This powerhouse of raw and cutting edge music ultimately made them ahead of their time. ESG enjoyed success sharing stages with PiL and Gang Of Four and have been heavily sampled as many musicians including TLC, Wu-Tang Clan, Beastie Boys and Liars.

Recalibrating her singular journey in the British musical landscape with her most open-hearted, direct and intimate collection of material yet. Love In Constant Spectacle evokes spectacular imagery and distills the artists’ vision in its purest form, elevating her inimitable sound and poetic vision to new heights.
Recapturing the melancholy of her early work whilst propelling it forward, she sketches scenes as we watch new colours, shapes and languages emerge and fill the frame. Love In Constant Spectacle sees her take measured steps towards a vivid, dreamlike record, that offers resolve in the face of life’s inevitability.
The foundations of Weaver’s sound are still evident – lush motorik drums, pulsating bass, custom modded synths and exotic fuzz pedals - but the stream is awash with scrabble piece poetry and Letraset lullabies leading to lush escapism, the free abandon that you’d associate with free jazz and the avant-garde. But, as determined and visionary as Weaver might be, Love In Constant Spectacle wasn’t executed without assistance. Here we find a long mooted unison with Jane’s first ever producer, John Parish (PJ Har vey, Aldous Harding ), who has shared Weaver’s process in the surrounds of Rockfield Studios and Geoff Barrow’s Invada studio.
Love In Constant Spectacle is otherworldly, it is both intimate yet distant, a surrealist interpretation of the foundations that make us human – the stories and landscapes it paints are habitats of their own. A voyage into undisclosed pastures, it’s a heartfelt manifesto from an artist that continues to boundlessly evolve with each chapter in her career.

They’re coming! The Hippies! The Acid Heads! BLONDE ON A BUM TRIP is a frank, revealing look at the LSD generation! Instead of using the usual jazzy instrumental library music or generic elevator pop, The Vagrants, The Bit’ A Sweet, and to a much greater extent The E-Types were recruited to propel the film's lysergic journey. This serves as the first ever soundtrack to this film as well as a doctorate level exploration into The E-Types’“Put The Clock Back On The Wall.” On hallucinogenic swirl vinyl!
1967 ushered in the Summer of Love and dozens of feature length psychedelic-themed films flooded theaters and drive-ins, opening minds across America. A number of black & white LSD films were made in the mid-1960s, yet Blonde on a Bum Trip (1968) stands out as something unique and different. Shot in NYC entirely in electric shades of gray, this motion picture comes across more like an underground student film and freaky fringe time capsule.
The music tracks are used effectively as a driving device and create an unmistakable mood, especially The E-Types relentless ear worm “Put the Clock Back on the Wall.”The Bit’A Sweet’s “Is It On, Is It Off?”provides a delirious dance track. The other oddball “LSD”song that recurs in the movie was performed by a relatively unknown band, Thee Neons, fronted by John Wonderling. He would go on to have his own long career as a singer/songwriter. Russell Leslie, the drummer for The Bit’A Sweet, also played with Thee Neons. After nearly a decade in the making, we are pleased to say that the film now has a groovy soundtrack album! It’s Out of Sight - Out of Mind!

Talented songwriter, arranger, recording engineer and multi-instrumentalist James Palko has had a hand in a run of great records recently, ranging from his smooth, horn-laden take on the ‘70s as Jimmy Montague to an excellent pair of swan song albums from Taking Meds and Perspective, a Lovely Hand to Hold. Now, he’s back with “what promises to be a breakthrough record” (-Punk Rock Theory) in Pretty Rude’s debut LP with SideOneDummy. Eight tracks of pure guitar rock/ power pop magic, this is easily one of the best debuts we’ve ever come across.

Lionmilk announces his first album on Stones Throw, WHEN THE FLOWERS BLOOM — his antidote to depression and heartbreak, presented through a lens of optimism and joy.
A truly self contained artist, Lionmilk wrote, produced, and performed every instrument on the new record. Each personal story is told with a different musical style: “only one” calls back to Lionmilk’s DIY and lo-fi roots; instrumental “tom is in heaven” pays tribute to a family friend who introduced Lionmilk to jazz; and “não mais saudade” focuses the Brazilian concept of saudade (longing) onto a story of relationships. Even when Lionmilk’s going through it, the songs stay light – as he puts it, “a ‘cheer up’ for my depressed ass.” As he grows and learns, everything comes full circle in an eternal bloom.
Lionmilk is a Los Angeles native known for his work as a pianist, composer, and producer. He has played in Mndsgn and John Carroll Kirby’s live bands, opened for Resavoir and Alabaster DePlume, and performed live in LA, London, Japan and more.
Earlier song “Great Mother In The Sky” went viral on TikTok, with over 70k videos generated. This translated to a larger audience on other platforms and has 6m Spotify streams.

A new project between ambient pedal steel explorer Joe Harvey-Whyte and psych-country guitarist Bobby Lee, “Last Ride” takes in Paris, Texas-esque dusty instrumentals, west coast canyon-rock, brit-folk pastoralism, kosmische choogle and new-age mellowness. The UK pair bonded over their broad church approach to cosmic country, where Eno and Arthur Russell stand shoulder to shoulder with Gram and JJ Cale. Individually, they’re both rare torch bearers of ambient americana on their side of the Atlantic.
First single “Flatbed Alfalfa Run To Pueblo, Colorado, Fall 1972” opens with a phased guitar chug riding a loping groove, before a laid back Sneaky Pete-style fuzz-steel carries it off down the highway. Wispy cirrus clouds of Fender Rhodes hug the skyline, whilst the primordial drum machine marks every passing telegraph pole, like some motorik Marshall Tucker Band.
Joe is one of the UK’s most in demand pedal steel guitar players, known for his session work with artists as diverse as Alabama 3, Billy Bragg and Susanne Sundfør, and his wildly experimental soundtrack/installation compositions which push the boundaries of the instrument. Bobby has released three critically acclaimed records via American Primitive stalwarts Tompkins Square Records, described as “a word of mouth sensation amongst discerning heads” by Mojo Magazine editor John Mulvey.

Philadelphia ska band Catbite has been redefining the genre since their 2018 formation, blending elements of punk, new wave, and pop rock. Known for their electrifying live shows, they've toured with acts like The Bouncing Souls, Jeff Rosenstock, Screaming Females, and Laura Jane Grace.
Now, Catbite is set to release their most ambitious project yet: 'Doom Garden', out May 9, 2025, via Bad Time Records. Produced by Grammy winner Sarah Tudzin (boygenius, illuminati hotties), the EP showcases the band's growth and evolving songwriting. Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s 'The Garden of Earthly Delights', vocalist Brit Luna reflects on themes of self-exploration and morality. "It’s really difficult to look inward and feel like you’re a terrible person," Luna shares. "These songs helped me begin to heal parts of myself that I had long forgotten or pushed away. Being human is hard, but it’s not all bad."
The EP also features collaborations that see Catbite’s sound expand even further, including a track co-written and performed with Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and guest vocals from Zayna Youssef of Sweet Pill. With 'Doom Garden', Catbite continues to evolve, cementing their place as one of the most exciting bands in modern ska and beyond.

When three of the most forward-thinking minds in electronic and alternative music collide, the result is bound to be expansive. Demise Of Love is the thrilling new project from Daniel Avery, James Greenwood's Ghost Culture , and Working Men’s Club —a studio collaboration forged from mutual admiration and an unrelenting drive to break new ground. Born from a shared desire to create something raw, boundary-pushing and deeply emotive, the trio entered the studio with no expectations, only a love for each other’s work and a fearless approach to sound. The result is a heady fusion of industrial dreamscapes, acid house intensity, and starkly beautiful melodies. Shaped by the combined creative forces of the trio’s masterful production and brooding presence, Demise Of Love carves out its own uncompromising space in electronic music.

An endling is the final member of a species. When an endling dies, the species is extinct.
Pakistani-American composer Qasim Naqvi returns with Endling, his newest album for Erased Tapes Records, set for release 16th May. Written as a modular synth prequel to his 2023 BBC Concert Orchestral work, God Docks at Death Harbor, Endling takes the listener on a 43-minute odyssey through an intense and beautiful landscape, set hundreds of years into the future.
“One morning my wife woke up from a dream with a phrase in her mind “God Docks at Death Harbor, explains Naqvi I was just starting to write a new work for the BBC Concert Orchestra, and when she told me about this dream of words, it very quickly seeped into the fabric of the music. Her words were a poem to me, evoking very specific imagery. I imagined our planet hundreds of years into the future, where the human race no longer exists. I imagined a world peacefully restoring itself in the absence of us, because we’re no longer around to destroy it and ourselves. This became the tenet of the work. It was like a scenic mural that I could look at for inspiration, as I was writing this tone poem. After God Docks at Death Harbor premiered in the spring of 2023 in London, the feeling stayed with me, and when it came time to think about a new record I felt compelled to continue this narrative. I imagined a prequel, about the last human on the planet an endling, traversing a world centuries into the future. A world decayed and mutated into a strange amalgam of the natural and artificial. I envisioned the music as chapters, following this human through the crumbling landscape of the future, that was now being overtaken and absorbed by the natural world. In keeping with the tone poem tradition of God Docks, I created the track titles first, and their meanings became more defined as the music began to take shape
On the album’s centrepiece “Power Down the Heart,” featuring Moor Mother, our character stumbles upon an A.I. being that is in the final moments of its life. As a kind of last rites, this ancient artificial consciousness describes the beauty, sadness and horror it has observed for hundreds of years. I wanted the music to feel like the inside of this being’s mind. I shared the music and this narrative with Camae and asked if she would be the voice of this A.I., and she came back with the perfect contribution.
All of the music on Endling was made with an ARP Odyssey, Minimoog and modular synthesizer. For me, one of the many challenging and satisfying aspects of modular synthesizers involves the development of complex timbrel ideas from the ground up, which can rarely ever be repeated perfectly. The device can be organically unstable and fallible. It can feel like an organism and as the performer, you’re in control of the flow of its energy, or voltage. This machine approach to Endling was the perfect compliment to its orchestral predecessor, it felt like a different kind of orchestra from this album’s future – with the organic consuming and transmuting the artificial.
Qasim Naqvi is a percussionist, composer and synthesist based in Brooklyn, NY Along with being the drummer of lauded cult minimalist trio, Dawn of Midi, Naqvi is an accomplished solo artist and his passion for multidisciplinary work has brought him into the world of film, dance, installation art, and the stage of orchestral and chamber music. His concert music has been commissioned and performed by The London Contemporary Orchestra, The BBC Concert Orchestra, Crash Ensemble, Bang on a Can All Stars, Jennifer Koh, Stargaze, The Cello Octet of Amsterdam, The Helsinki Chamber Choir and others.
Alex Paxton, the ”highly innovative...of exceptional creative imagination and musical energy, packed with life force unlike anything else” (BBC Magazine/Ivor Novello British Composer Awards) award-winning composer & jazz-trombonist will release his fourth record Delicious (May 16, 2024) via New Amsterdam Records.
Delicious is a sonic behemoth drawing from Paxton’s idiosyncratic approach to orchestral music. Winds, strings, harpsichords and brass blend together with pitch bent samples, electronic textures, chopped vocals, and drum machines into pure movement. Underneath the chaos lies a solid foundation of melody which ties together the kaleidoscope of sounds which Paxton brings to life. The album is described by the composer as “biting into a strawberry and biscuit sandwich and having a good ol 'munch”. Delicious is decadent, dense, and will genuinely make you question if you’ve heard anything like it before.
