Abbotsford’s Heroic Police Officer - Constable John Davidson aYbtsPorz dy bhfdr pulIs aPsr - kONstybl jOhn zyivzsn The Abbotsford Police Department lost an amazing colleague and friend who died in the line of duty. Our community lost a hero. John Davidson worked as a police officer for 24 years. He began his law enforcement career in the United Kingdom working for the Northumbria Police from 1993 to 2005. On March 3, 2006, he was hired by the Abbotsford Police Department. He worked in our Patrol, Youth Squad and Traffic Sections. Recently he completed the Tour de Valley Cops for Cancer ride. John was a dedicated police officer who devoted so much of his time to connecting with the community and helping kids. Cst. John Davidson is survived by his wife and three adult children. Abbotsford police Chief Bob Rich called John “his hero”. He said, “He was protecting our community. He will always be my hero.” Abbotsford community is saddened by the loss of their officer who gave his life in the line of duty. B.C. Opposition Leader Rich Coleman made this statement, “I know the sadness that comes with the loss of a colleague to the brave men and women who put their lives at risk to protect us and grieve with them for the loss.”
