"That's all! 2 years in Mikkeli passed unnoticed, and I want to say that it turned out to be a good story, from participating in school events to studying together but the most important thing is that I met a lot of new people whom I will remember and with whom it was a pleasure to spend time! Aalto community, I look forward to carrying these memories with me as I move on to the next chapter of my life!"

"Time in Mikkeli was definitely a once-of-a -lifetime experience! The atmosphere was international, and everything was within walking distance. 1,5 years was worth it for self-development and making wonderful connections. Here I have been through thick and thin and am now stronger to move on to the following steps!"

"Looking back on the past two year as a Baba, I gotta admit, it wasn't a smooth beginning. English being my second language, my confidence with it -

physically (thanks to the food that I couldn't resist, haha), mentally, and academically. I wouldn't call myself an active gal when it comes to school events and activities since alcohol and socializing aren't really my things But whenever I did show up, I had a blast.

One of my professors taught me to appreciate every single moment of my university life, and that stick with me. Mikkeli has become a huge part of my life. Tbh, every time I travel, I yearn for the tranquil embrace of Mikkeli. So, here I am, ready to embark on a new chapter, but I will carry with me not just unforgettable memories, but also the lessons learned and the love I found along the way."

"Spending the beginning of my student life in Mikkeli is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Although you always evolve over time, and may not stick to the life plan, or the friend group you had as a fuksi, it’s never an issue in this program. Mikkeli makes you get to know everyone - due to it’s sizeand everything - due to the course structure. As I’m in the process of moving out, thinking about the town is a bit bittersweet, since nowhere else in the world will I have all of my friends living within 10 minutes of walking."

"It’s officially been 635 days since I first arrived in Finland. As that number grew larger, my confidence that I made the correct choice university wise has grown exponentially, whether it’s the amazing Fuksi experience of having so many new traditions to learn and integrating into this small yet extremely tight and “unique” community, or the second-year experience of being the one teaching the new Fuksis everything what makes Mikkeli, well, Mikkeli Everything from how sits work or being part of O-week and other events to of course the wonders of Pentti. Thank you Mikkeli for being so amazing."

"My experience in Mikkeli has been great all around. Having always lived in Espoo, I was hesitant to move to a relatively small town at first. Nonetheless, I’ve had a great time in Mikkeli in the past years, with many long-lasting friendships and memories. Having also been in the Probba board in 2022 as the treasurer added some responsibilities with some events that sometimes went better than others. I feel like the Mikkeli experience with the tight student community and the great events throughout the year might be impossible to recreate anywhere else."

"My time in Mikkeli has been nothing short of amazing. I was nervous as a first-year student walking to campus for orientation. But those fears washed away when I saw the incredible, tight-knit community here that made me feel so welcome. As someone who’s travelled from thousands of kilometres away to start my studies, I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity. Beyond the unique, intensive academics program here, I’ve learned so much about myself and I hope to become a better person from it. I’ve made some of my best memories and my closest friends here, and I will cherish them dearly as I enter the next chapter of my life."

My career story is definitely not the most glamorous one, but it just might be the mostcommonone

Although the experience of working in marketing in Los Angeles was beyond incredible, I returned to Finland in 2016 and landed a job as a Digital Marketing Manager for a well-known Finnish B2B company. Whatarethedifficultiesinrunningthe businessonourcampus?

Basically the price is the biggest challenge. Yeah, because all the prices of the ingredients have gone up; some chicken meat almost doubled in one year. Yes, for nutritional purposes. Well, not everyone likes fish, and fish is very expensive.Soit'sajobtothinkabouthow toaddthosefishcourseseveryweek. And also, themenuneedstobeveganinclusive becauseitgoesformorepeople.
