It could be a trip to the store, heading to work or a grand road trip…it does not seem to matter…we want to tune into something! Maybe a podcast, audio book or the incredible sounds of our favorite songs. We want to TUNE IN and with today’s technology you can get tuned in 24/7 – 365 days of the year. This “need” that we must tune into something is part of creation, how we were created by God. He is the great communicator, in fact, God is always communicating with us 24/7 – 365 days of the year. The question is “Are you tuned into God’s station?”
KGOD Imagine if God used a radio station for communication, maybe a call sign like KGOD. The station would run all the time; however, the requirement would be just as all radio stations…YOU HAVE TO SEEK THE STATION TO HEAR WHATS PLAYING. Now the question is “How do we tune in to God’s station?” Throughout the Bible you will find men and women who share their story of how God spoke to them. The key to hearing the voice of the Lord had to do with their willingness to tune into God’s voice. There are also many instances in the Bible when the individual tuned God out. These individuals did not want to listen to what God was telling them so they changed the station. Samuel from a young age fully engaged to tune all in. I Samuel 3:11-14 teaches us that the person who is surrendered to the Lord and is willing to tune in will receive the signal and learn God’s Will. The truth is if we fail to be tuned into God it will affect our lives, our families’ lives, and our nation’s security. Do not tune out due to wrong expectations - Eli, being the priest thought his sons would just “get it” because they lived in the house of the Lord.
There were two men of God…one became God’s honorable spokesman because he tuned into God whereas the other one tuned God out and paid the price of his actions and died in dishonor. The two: Eli the fallen priest and Samuel the Prophet of God. One man was a failure & the other man successful. One finished poorly and the other finished strong. One tuned in / the other tuned out…Eli tuned out! He was too busy listening to worldly stations of the day. Stations like: Materialism 101.5 FM - Indulge yourself 95.9 - Sins of your Father, Golden Oldies 93.7 and the “All-Satan” Station 66.6.
Do not cause others to tune out or never tune in due to wrong examples – Eli failed to live at home as he taught at work, so his boys never tuned in. Do not tune out due to wrong entanglements – Eli got so caught up in being a Priest, his profession that he was blind to his failure, tuned out from God. We all must keep God 1st, sit family 2nd, ministry 3rd. Lorem ipsum dolor amet, consectetur
