World Languages & Cultures Department

Ninth-GradeWorldLanguagesLoveofLearning SABRINAHEMLEY

Sabrina has an incredible thirst for knowledge in all of her subjects, but she is always seeking more in French. Sabrina remembers every little cultural point that others forget so easily. She is able to relate what we learn in French class to all her other subjects and has an outstanding memory for vocabulary and grammar. Sabrina's work interest and dedication to learning more and keeping it in long-term memory make her a joy to know and to teach. In essence, Sabrina learns to know and not just for the tests, and that makes her stand out from other students with high scores who are simply going through the motions.

ELIZAO’NEILL

There are not enough positive adjectives to describe the ethic, character, and academic achievement of Eliza. She is one of the most responsible, motivated, and dedicated students that I have yet to meet throughout my career. She asks questions, is not afraid to take risks, and writes beautifully. Her grades are true reflections of her efforts and her commitment to studying the language. She is mature, does not become involved with classmates when they are losing focus, and is far exceeding the expectations of an advanced-level class. In addition to her achievements in school, she is a dedicated hockey player who travels to and from New Jersey 3-4 nights a week. She completes assignments in the car and has NEVER submitted an incomplete or late assignment. She always asks for work in advance, prior to being out for her extra-curricular activities. She attends conference time to ensure that she is prepared for assessments and is the type of student that always wants to learn more! She is well-liked and respected by her classmates and her teachers.
