Theatre Department

The senior award for Love of Learning in Theatre goes to a student who epitomizes one of our program credos: embrace the uncomfortable. He is usually tasked with comedic and over-the-top characters, and he comes at them with fearless choices, a smile, and a certain je ne sais quoi. He is continuing his theatre training at TCU and I hope they know how lucky they are to have him. The twelfth-grade award for Love of Learning in Theatre goes to Chris DeLuca.

The senior award for Excellence in Theatre goes to a student who is simply irreplaceable. She started her time at Portledge as a star in the Lower School, and that was only the beginning! Since then, she has taken every theatre class, participated in every show and was co-leader of Theatre Club this year. She inspires everyone around her, and she has helped continue our theatre tradition of nurturing an environment where everyone feels safe to take risks and be their authentic self. She is the best and this program will not be the same without her. The twelfth-grade award for Excellence in Theatre goes to Milan Glass.
