Mathematics Department

The Love of Learning Award goes to a student who holds himself to a very high standard both in and outside of the classroom. He is the first to correctly complete problems in class, always remains respectful, and submits all assignments on time. This student asks questions when needed, and he is very quick to grasp new concepts. He loves to dive deeper into the material than we do in class. He loves finding the “real-world” connections of math. This student has even attended our math competitions through the Nassau County Interscholastic Math League and the New York Math League to further challenge himself. We loved learning about his efforts to become an EMT as well! The Mathematics Department is pleased to present this award to Aaron Thornberg.

The award for academic excellence goes to a student who has exceeded expectations in both her math classes and has impressed her peers and teachers. Her math teacher once said, “In over a decade of teaching, there are only a small handful of students as brilliant and dedicated as this student, and it is an absolute honor to have taught her in class.” The Mathematics Department is pleased to recognize Anna Bloch.
