Mathematics Department

The Love of Learning Award is presented to a student whose determination, grit, and thirst for knowledge is inspiring. Her willingness to spend free periods seeking clarification on homework or spiral review problems has pushed her to excel in math this year. In addition, this student was always a team player who worked collaboratively and effectively with all of her peers. The Mathematics Department is pleased to recognize Ava Chan.

This year's Academic Excellence Award goes to Kajal Khandelwal. As an AP Calculus student, she was always ready to take on the challenges posed to her during class and in preparing for the AP Calculus exam. She came to class everyday ready to ask questions about the homework, to solidify concepts we had learned previously, and to learn new and more challenging material. When Kajal needed extra help, she came during conference time with questions and an open mind. She chose to push herself this year by taking the AP Calculus BC exam which required her to learn topics on her own outside of class. With all of this, she consistently performed well and was a solid participant in all situations throughout the year. Kajal was such a stellar student this year, making her an absolute pleasure to teach.
