The award for love of learning goes to a positive, curious, and selfdriven student who consistently sought to make connections in the classroom. He enthusiastically participated in each lesson, asked clarifying questions to deepen his understanding, and completed all assignments in a thorough and organized manner. In addition, this recipient always went the extra mile to assist his peers or challenge himself with a difficult problem. His patience, kindness, attention to detail, and impressive problem-solving skills clearly demonstrate his love of learning. The ninth-grade award for academic excellence goes to a recipient who averaged a perfect score in Algebra 2A this year. He was a focused and driven student in class, who demonstrated a unique intellectual curiosity to understand functions in their entirety. This student consistently exceeded expectations in all categories, and he represented Portledge in several math competitions this year. The Mathematics Department is pleased to recognize the impressive mathematician, Mason Lee.
