Ninth-Grade Educational Technology & Computer Science Love of Learning

RONDELL RABSATT

This quiet, dedicated student completed both the Website Design and Introduction to Coding courses. Each End-of-the-Unit project they worked on would go beyond the requirements of the assignment, showing hours of commitment, and impressing their peers. This student also attended the Roslyn Code Overload event with peers from Portledge to partake in a one-day coding project challenge. During the event, this student expertly designed backgrounds for the team project using the Unity game development platform. We would also like to give this student a shout out for their great Halloween costume when they dressed up as an Ethical Hacker. The Love of Learning Award in ninth-grade Technology Education & Computer Science goes to Rondell Rabsatt.

Ninth-Grade Educational Technology & Computer Science Academic Excellence

ROWAN SHENOY

Expertly working through assignments and tasks, this year’s recipient of the Educational Technology & Computer Science Department’s Academic Excellence Award for ninth grade goes to a student in the Website Design and Robotics courses who achieved academic success in all areas! On many assignments, this student would complete the assigned task and then either take on additional, bonus challenges or assist others in their learning. In Website Design, they helped students with debugging their HTML and CSS, and in Robotics they would help junior coders incorporate advanced syntax, and new elements into their programs. In this way, they were not just achieving academic success for themselves, but helping others reach that goal as well. They attended weekend build sessions for Robotics and also participated in the Roslyn Code Overload event with fellow students to partake in a one-day coding project challenge. The Academic Excellence Award in ninth-grade Technology Education & Computer Science goes to Rowan Shenoy.
