Face it. Curiosity will not cause him to dieonly lack of it will. Never to want to see the other side of the hill, or that improbable country where living is an idyll (although a probable hell) would kill us all.

Only the curious have, if they live, a tale worth telling at all.

Semester break offered sixty students the opportunity to go skiing to Mammoth for four days. The group was composed of students from all four classes and chaperones. Luckily, there were no skiing injuries, although there was one hundred and forty dollars worth of damage made in their hotel by the four days, not all of which were caused by Poly The management loosened up and didn ' t charge the group for everything. Otherwise, the trip was a success. The skiing conditions were perfect: plenty of snow and shining sun. Everybody had a great time!

This year, the students have been fortunate enough to have good assemblies and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to keep their interests alive, and cultivate inherent creativity. These scintillating experiences range from exploring the depths of typing, to developing insights into the psyches of Jefferson and Hamilton.

This year, both teams were outstanding in their efforts and achievements throughout the season. For the first time since Poly has participated in eight-man football, the Varsity team advanced into the quarter-final playoff game with Ambassador, where they lost on a controversial penalty.

The J.V.'s also ended their season in second in the Prep league.

The Basketball teams this year proved to be very talented and enthusiastic. As a result, the J.V.s ended their season as league co-champions with Rio Hondo, while the Varsity remained undefeated to clinch their league title and reserve a berth for them in the C.I.F. playoffs. Something the team worked very hard to achieve.

EASTERN BASKETBALL TRIP

This year's J.V. and Varsity Basketball teams travelled on the first Poly Eastern Basketball Trip. The fifty players, coaches, cheerleaders and spectators stayed with families of the schools that hosted the trip: Rye Country Day, Pingry and Hackley Schools. In addition to the Basketball games, the trip was highlighted by a day in New York City and a tour of Princeton University.
