When you were 7, you regularly volunteered to play goalie as kids 5-7 years older ripped shots at you from less than 10 feet away. Looking back now, I cannot overstate how awesome that is. That you were so good at stopping these shots comes as no surprise, given how you have never ceased to amaze me with your success. Ms. Stefansson' s dedication and service to Poly for the last twenty-two years as librarian will be remembered with the utmost respect for her genuinely kind character. On a daily basis , she shows not only her willingness to help and make time for students, but even more importantly her true desire to listen . Her patience with last minute research projects and "fairy godmother-like" care for each student's welfare has made the library a friendly and special retreat for a student's busy day. Says one student, "I am sincerely grateful for all of the books she has recommended and bought for my personal enjoyment." Ms. Stefansson, the Poly community appreciates all that you do and the time and effort you put into making the library a lovable and accessible place. Throughout Mr. Roberts's six years of teaching math at Poly, students have grown attached to his positive and refreshingly energetic attitude . His willingness to become emotionally invested in his students makes him one of Poly's most understanding and caring teachers. Every day, Mr. Roberts ' s dedication to whatever he sets his mind to is evident around campus, from his genuine interest in what he teaches to his fundraising for Baraka in Africa. In the words of one student, "Mr. Roberts was always there for me when I needed help." "He never gave up on me, " said another student. Mr. Roberts, we value everything you bring to the Poly community , including your passion for math and your cheerful attitude. Thank you for the past six years, and we wish you much success in your next teaching venture.
Though only at Poly for two years, Ms. Rasmussen's impacts on the community, especially on the lives of the students, has been tremendous. While it is well-known that she is an administrator, faculty and students alike consider her a friend. Her consistently positive attitude and friendly smile radiate encouragement and, according to a fellow colleague, have a "wonderful way of making everything just a little bit better." Working hard to learn each student's name and personal interests, she is known by many as one of the most understanding and overall nicest people in the school. According to a Poly student, a pass by Ms. Rasmussen's desk "can turn anyone's frown upside-down." Ms. Rasmussen, we wish you the best of luck witig2our future endeavors and thank you for sincerely touching everyone in the Poly community with your strong guidance and endearing spirit.
