ONCE EVERYONE GETS HEALTHY, WE SHOULD BE PRETTY GOOD, BUT RIGHT NOW WE'VE GOT LOTS OF INJURIES. WE'LL PROBABLY WIN LEAGUE THIS YEAR. OUR SUCCESS IN CIF THIS YEAR DEPENDS IN KEEPING EVERYONE HEALTHY AND HAVING A BETTER DEFENSE.

LAST YEAR, A PROPHET APPROACHED ME. HE TOLD ME HOW DIFFICULT IT WOULD BE TO ASSEMBLE THE YEARBOOK-TO FIND EDITORS WITH TIME, ENERGY, AND DEVOTION ENOUGH TO PUT TOGETHER THIS GIANT PUBLICATION-AND LAUGHED AND PROCLAIMED THE DESCRIPTION AN EXAGGERATION, FOR I HAD BEEN LAYOUT EDITOR AND SURVIVED. As LOOK AROUND NOW, ONE FINAL TIME BEFORE I SHUT THE DOORS TO THE PUBLICATIONS ROOM, I KNOW I SHOULD NOT HAVE LAUGHED. THE PROPHET WAS CORRECT, FOR THIS YEARBOOK HAS BEEN A TEDIOUS STRUGGLE AND AN AMAZING TRIUMPH! COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY-A PHRASE THAT HAS OFTEN BEEN CHANTED TO ME BY MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. BUT IT IS NOT JUST COMMUNICATION , IT IS ALSO THE STAFF:
WITHOUT JOY, YOU WOULD NOT BE HOLDING THIS YEARBOOK. SHE IS FAR AND AWAY THE MOST DILIGENT AND TALENTED WORKER I HAVE EVER KNOWN , NOT TO MENTION A GREAT FRIEND HER KNOWLEDGE OF BOTH DESIGN AND ORGANIZATION HAVE MADE HER THIS YEARS MVP, SO TO SPEAK WITH HER PARTNER , CHARLES , AND THE BUSINESS EDITORS, TWO DANCES WERE ORGANIZED FOR THE SCHOOL WITHOUT CHARLES ' COMMITTMENT AND KNOW-HOW , WE COULD NOT HAVE WORKED THROUGH THE TWENTY-HOUR WEEKENDS WHEN HE WOULD HELP BUSINESS , LAYOUT, OR ANYONE ELSE THAT NEEDED A HAND.
THE ARTWORK THIS YEAR IS STUNNING. THE CREDIT FOR THAT GOES TO CHRISTINA AND MIKE , WHO HAVE PUT TOGETHER A BRILLIANT STAFF INCLUDING THREE OF THE MOST FANTASTIC MINDS EVER PUT TO WORK FOR A PUBLICATION: JON PERRY, OLIVER RIZK, AND DEREK Yu I OWE THEM ALL MY GRATITUDE ; I AM IN AWE.
HAL PIONEERED THE POSITION OF PROOF EDITOR , AND DID A FANTASTIC JOB THIS BASICALLY ENTAILED I NDEXING AND PROOFREADING EACH PAGE, WHICH IS THE MOST GRUELING CHORE IN EXISTENCE. I ADMIRE HAL FOR HIS DEDICATION TO 0AKLEAVES - HE LEAVES BIG SHOES FOR NEXT YEAR ' S PROOF EDITOR TO FILL.
CAROLYN AND JASON DID A FANTASTIC JOB AT LAYOUT. CAROLYN HAS A UNIQUELY TUNED EYE FOR DESIGNING INCREDIBLE PAGES. I HAVE NOT SEEN A BAD DESIGN FROM HER YET JASON IS A GREAT WORKER , WHO UNDERSTANDS THE INS AND OUTS OF "SPEED-DESIGN. " THERE ARE FEW PEOPLE THAT CAN TURN OUT AS MANY PAGES PER HOUR AS HE DOES, AND STILL HAVE THEM LOOK GOOD.
SARA AND BRIAN DID SOME TITILLATING WORK AS THE COPY EDITORS I AM STRUCK WITH AWE AND SOMETIMES DRAWN TO TEARS AT THE PROFUNDITY OF THEIR CAPTIONS
DANA AND NiCOLE WORKED ZILLIONS OF HOURS PERFECTING THE ADS AND DEDICATIONS, AND MANAGING THRITY-THOUSAND-OR-SO DOLLARS THAT GO INTO MAKING THIS YEARBOOK. THEY FINISHED W ITH FLYING COLORS
