HALF PIECE

Poem by Ana Marie A. Cantalejo Illustration by Blesselle Ramirez

Sun’s too high to light me up, It’s too direful to be in the dark. But it seems you have a box of bulb, To bring me glow and dim’s been whacked.

Every time I’m blue and my chin is down. Having the crown of the saddest in town. You spare some time to show me your care, Because you never dare to left me on air.

I scream on you; you shout for me. My back is in the back of thee. We count on us we’re always on hand. To embrace the head with loving arm.

Knives and blades cut off our laughter, We tail of it to bury the hatchets. Burden is nothing if we are together, Just like a puzzle, we complete each other.

Side by side or far apart, We’re always in each other’s heart. You’re one of the pieces completing my life, And my source of strength to be tough and right.
