please don’t promise me eternity, if you’re not even sure what you’re doing tomorrow.

please don’t promise me another “next time” if you’re not even sure if you can make it please don’t promise you’ll answer my calls if you’re just gonna lead me straight to voicemail please don’t promise me anything, because what will happen tomorrow is unclear

and tonight, you have to remember that these promises do not reassure me — not anymore because tomorrow will be certain, tomorrow cannot be escaped.

tomorrow, we will try again

but tomorrow has not come.

so for tonight, let me hope that one day, i will stop believing your promises i will stop fooling myself into thinking my phone is ringing because of you i will stop believing your “next time”’s i will stop thinking that tomorrow will be different

but tomorrow is never the “one day” i am hoping for.

so when dawn comes, i will still believe you because you might be calling because your “next time” might be tomorrow because you are trying because i love you

and if eternity will not be for us, there is always another tomorrow.
