TAXI EN RUTA es un proyecto compartido por todas las asociaciones de Taxi de Bizkaia.

Colaboramos en su reparto y difusión y está orientada a los visitantes de Bilbao, Bizkaia y País Vasco en general, con el propósito de mostrar nuestra geografía y dar a conocer lo que en cada lugar se puede buscar, ver y degustar.

El taxi de Bizkaia está a vuestro servicio y allá donde os encontreis teneis un número de teléfono donde poder llamar.

TAXI EN RUTA Bizkaiko Taxi Elkarte guztiek konpartitzen duten proiektua da. Bere banaketa eta zabalkuntzan laguntzen diogu elkarri eta Bilbo, Bizkaia zein Euskal Herrira datozen bisitariei dago zuzenduta. Gure geografia erakustea da asmoa eta leku bakoitzean zer bilatu, ikusi eta dastatu daitekeen ezagutzera ematea.

TAXI EN ROUTE is a shared project by all the Taxi associations in Bizkaia. We contribute to deliver and spreading it and its meant for the visitants to Bilbao, Bizkaia, and Basque Country in general with the intention to show our geography and to make known what we can find, see and taste in each place.

Muchas de ellas son madres y tratan de conciliar su vida laboral y familiar.

During the last few years more women are joining the taxi. Flexible timetables, independence, dealing with the public, driving pleasure. These are some of the reasons chosen by the women who decide to drive a taxi in the Basque Country. Nowadays, not many are the women who have decided to join the taxi world, in Biscay there are about twenty, but more and more are joining a sector that it seemed to be men`s stuff.

En los últimos años se están incorporando más mujeres al taxi. Horarios flexibles, independencia, trato con el público, gusto por la conducción. Éstas son algunas de las razones que desgranan las mujeres que se deciden a conducir un taxi en el País Vasco.

Hoy en día no son muchas las mujeres que han decidido introducirse en el mundo del taxi, en Bizkaia son alrededor de una veintena, pero progresivamente se van incorporando más a un sector que hasta hace bien poco parecía cosa de hombres.

Azken urteetan, gero eta gehiago dira taxi gidari bihurtzen diren emakumeak. Ordutegi malguak, independentzia, bezeroarekin dagoen harremana edo gidatzea gustoko izatea. Hauek dira emakumeek ematen dituzten arrazoietariko batzuk taxi bat gidatzeko Euskal Herrian. Gaur egun, ez dago emakumezko taxi gidari asko. Bizkaian hogei inguru dira, eta pixkanaka gero eta gehiago doaz barneratzen, orain dela gutxirarte gizonezkoen gauzatzat hartzen izan den sektorera.

Entre ellas tenemos de todo, Bea Ramos es la más joven y como Mar pertenecen a una saga de taxistas, también tienen vínculos familiares Ana y Silvia, ya que son primas. Flori Díez se jubila este año y a Victoria le quedan pocos años por jubilarse. Estela y Bilma son las últimas en incorporarse. Igual que Begoña, Maite y Noemí son muchas las mujeres cuya pareja también es taxista. Ane Beltrán se confiesa una gran aficionada al motor y es feliz conduciendo y escuchando música. A Raquel y Esther lo que más les motiva es la flexibilidad e independencia que aporta esta profesión. Muchas de ellas son madres y tratan de conciliar su vida laboral y familiar.

There are all sorts among them, Bea Ramos is the youngest one and like Mar, she belongs to a saga of taxi drivers. Ana and Silvia have also got family ties, as they are cousins. Flori Diez is going to retire this year and as for Victoria, there is little time left for her retirement. Estela and Bilma have been the last ones to join in. As Begoña, Maite and Noemi, many are the women taxi drivers whose partners are taxi drivers too. Ane Beltràn admits being really fond of the motor and she is happy, driving and listening to music. Raquel and Esther are really motivated by the flexibility and the independence that this profession gives them. Many of them are mothers and try to balance work life and family life.

El taxi en Bilbao acaba de cumplir 100 años, nos gustaría que dentro de otros 100, las mujeres taxistas de Bizkaia sigan siendo igual de valientes pero dejen de ser pocas.

Bilbon, taxiak ehun urte bete berri ditu. Beste ehun urte barru, Bizkaiko emakumezko taxi gidariak orain arte moduko ausartak eta gehiago izatea nahiko genuke.

The taxi in Bilbao has just been 100 years old. We would like that, in 100 years, Bilbao`s women taxi drivers keep on being so brave, but not so few.

Una mujer adelantada a su tiempo Bere garaira aurreratuta dagoen emakumea A Woman Ahead For Her Time Flori Diez, más conocida en su profesión por “Bilbao147”, ha sabido compatibilizar durante casi tres décadas trabajo y vida familiar. Además se convertirá este año en la primera mujer taxista que se jubila en Bizkaia. Comenzó en este mundillo tradicionalmente de hombres, animada por unos amigos taxistas, convirtiéndose así en la primera mujer taxista de Bilbao.

Tras veintiséis años de profesión, Flori hace un balance de su trabajo para nuestra revista.

Considera que le ha resultado muy cómoda la flexibilidad de horarios que su profesión le ha permitido-“… si un día no puedes ir por estar enfermo o lo que sea no vas, que ya irás otro día”. Destaca como aspecto negativo, que cada día hay más competencia en el sector y que el número de clientes ha descendido en los últimos años.

En ocasiones ha tenido que escuchar algún que otro comentario discriminatorio por el hecho de ser mujer, pero nunca los ha tomado demasiado en serio.

Flori Diezek, edo “Bilbo 147” bezala ezaguna dena bere lanbidean, lana eta familia bateragarri egiten jakin du ia hiru hamarkadetan. Aurten, erretiratu egingo den lehenengo emakumezko taxi gidaria izango da. Tradizionalki gizonena den munduan hasi zen, lagunak ziren taxi gidariak animatuta, Bilboko lehenengo emakumezko taxi gidaria bihurtuz.

She emphasized the negative aspect that there is more competition every day in this sector and that the number of clients has gone down during the last years.

Sometimes I have had to hear some discriminatory comments for being a woman, but I have never taken them too seriously.

Le preguntamos qué le parece que se haya creado un taxi exclusivo de mujeres en Barcelona. Nos responde con cierta sorna que le parece absurdo, “siempre estamos con el rollo de las separaciones y discriminaciones de este tipo. Yo creo que si un cliente quiere una mujer taxista por el motivo que fuera lo busca y lo encuentra”.

We ask her what she thinks about the creation of an exclusive taxi of women in Barcelona.

She answers sarcastically that she thinks it is something ridiculous, “we are always with the same story about separations and discriminations of that type, I think that if any customer wants a taxi driver woman for whatever the reasons are, they look for it and find it”.

En Septiembre de este año espera jubilarse y dedicar a partir entonces su tiempo a buscar un Hobby y a viajar con su familia.

She is expecting to retire this year in September and spend her time on taking up a hobby and travelling with her family.

La antigua Merindad de Uribe estaba formada en el Medievo por toda la comarca junto a las anteiglesias del valle del Nervión que forman hoy el área metropolitana de Bilbao.

Actualmente se conoce con el nombre de Uribe, el territorio que abarca los valles de Txorierri y de Butrón y los municipios costeros limítrofes.

Estos valles forman las planicies mas amplias de Bizkaia. Es una zona, en la que puedes gozar de amplias playas o conocer zonas rurales, e incluso encontrar pequeños puertos con mucho encanto, como los de Plentzia y Armintza, por ejemplo.

Te ofrecemos la posibilidad de conocer a pie, la comarca de Uribe. Eso si, tomate tu tiempo,

The old county of Uribe was made up in the Middle Age by all the regions together with the districts of the Nerviòn Valley that today make up the metropolitan area in Bilbao. At present it is known by its name, Uribe, the territory that embraces the valleys in the Txorierri and Butròn and the bordering coast towns. These valleys make up the widests plains in Biscay. It is a region where you can enjoy the big beaches or to know rural areas and even you can find small ports, but with great charm as Plentzia or Armintza ones, for example, we offer you the possibility to know on foot the Uribe region. Anyway, take your time as they are about four or five houred seven stages to go on foot.

Estamos hablando de un sendero de gran recorrido, estamos hablando del sendero GR280 Uribe. 126 kilómetros en total, para recorrer los 23 municipios que componen la comarca.

Mendiko ibilbide luze batetaz ari gara, GR280 ibilbideaz hain zuzen. 126 kilometro guztira, eskualdea osotzen duten 23 herriak zeharkatzeko.

No es un camino cualquiera. La Asociación de Desarrollo Rural Jata-Ondo, ha sido la encargada de llevar a cabo esta iniciativa.

Tras una investigación jurídica, histórica y testimonial, nos invitan a conocer la zona de una manera diferente, mostrándonos todo el patrimonio arquitectónico y cultural de Uribe.

Si estás dispuesto/a a empezar el recorrido, toma nota: La primera etapa va desde Armintza a Sopelana.

Son 15,4 Km. a realizar en aproximadamente 4,5 horas. La dificultad es baja.

Esta etapa se desarrolla partiendo de la iglesia del Portuario Armintza, pasando por Urizar y Andraka, todos ellos en Lemoiz, continuando hacia Plentzia. Desde Plentzia podremos ascender por las laderas de Barrika y llegaremos a Sopelana Estarás dispuesto a seguir. La segunda etapa transcurre entre las localidades de Sopelana

Ibilbidea egiteko prest bazagoz, hona hemen zazpi etapak; Lehenengo etapa Armintza eta Sopelana artekoa da. 15,4 kilometro dira, 4,5 ordutan egitekoak gutxi gora behera. Zailtasuna txikia da.

Armintzako elizan irten eta Urizar zein Armintzatik igarota, biak Lemoizen, Plentziarantz egingo dugu. Plentziatik Barrikako aldepetatik gora egingo dugu eta Sopelanara helduko gara.

Jarraitzeko prest egongo zara. Bigarren etapa Sopelana eta Derio artekoa da. 25,2 kilometro dira 6 ordutan egiteko. Zailtasuna erdi mailakoa da.

We are talking about a long way path, we are talking about the GR-280 Uribe path.

126 kilometres altogether to cover the 23 towns that make up the region. It is not an ordinary path. Jata-Ondo the Association for the Rural Development, has been in charged to carry out the initiative. After a legal, historical and testimonial investigation, they invite us to know the area in a different way, showing us all Uribe`s architectural and cultural heritage.

If you are ready to start the tour, write this down: The first stage goes from Armintza to Sopelana. They are 15.4 km to do in about 4.5 hours. It has little difficulty.

This stage is done leaving from Armintza dock church, going by Urizar and Andraka, all of them in Lemoiz, continuing to Plentzia.

From Plentzia we`ll be able to go up by Barrika slopes and we`ll get to Sopelana.

Will you be ready to continue?. The second stage goes between Sopelana and Derio.

Partiendo de la plaza del ayuntamiento de Sopelana, cruzando el río Gobela hacia el barrio de Argalutza, continuando por el bosque de Sopelabaso, y ya desde el alto, contemplaremos una hermosa panorámica de Sopelana y Berango. Una vez alcanzado el alto de Munarrikolanda, podremos ver los túmulos prehistóricos. Si nos desviamos 2 km.

Podremos visitar la torre Martiartu de Erandio.

Continuando por Unbe, Lauroeta y Artebakarra, atravesando el parque tecnológico de Bizkaia, llegaremos a Derio.

El siguiente recorrido es un poco más corto.

Va desde Derio a Arrieta. Son 15,6 kilómetros que se pueden realizar en 4 horas y media. La dificultad es baja.

Partiendo del barrio Lekunbiz de Derio, llegaremos al parque tecnológico de Bizkaia y siguiendo el sendero hasta el alto de Berreaga, desde donde comenzaremos a descender hasta Fika.

Seguiremos el sendero hasta Fruiz, desde donde ascenderemos hasta llegar a la plaza de Arrieta.

Desde Arrieta, puedes acercarte a Bakio. Hay 18 kilómetros entre las dos localidades y los puedes hacer en aproximadamente 4 horas y media. La dificultad es baja.

Continuaremos el sendero hacia Meñaka, pasando por el barrio de Agirre (Arrieta).

Atravesaremos el núcleo de Meñaka y seguimos el recorrido hacia Bakio, pasando por el barrio de Larrauri, y la joya románica de San Miguel de Zumetzaga (Mungia), desde donde descenderemos hasta alcanzar el centro de Bakio, municipio que ofrece diversas opciones, como visitar la iglesia románica de San Pelaio.

Leaving Derio Lekunbiz suburb, we`ll get to the technological park of Biscay and following the path to Berreaga top, from where we`ll start to go down to Fika. We`ll continue the path to Fruiz, from where we`ll go up to get to Arrieta square.

The following tour is a little bit shorter. It goes from Derio to Arrieta. It is 15.6 km that can be done in 4 and a half hours. It has little difficulty.

From Arrieta you can come to Bakio. There are 18 kilometres between the two towns and you can cover them in 4 and a half hours more or less. It has little difficulty.

La Asociación de Desarrollo Rural Jata-Ondo, se ha encargado de limpiar y señalizar todos los caminos. Actualmente se ha editado un libroguía explicativo, sobre el desarrollo del sendero completo, con información detallada de todos los municipios de la comarca, temas de interés y los puntos a visitar en cada ruta. Se titula GR280 Uribe y ya está disponible en las librerías.

A lo largo del año suelen ser muchas las ferias medievales que se organizan por todo el territorio. Pero si te gusta la época y no quieres esperar a dichas ferias, en la comarca vizcaína de Uribe, tienes la posibilidad de realizar un recorrido que te enseñará un poco más de la Edad Media. Tendrás que visitar Larrabetzu, Zamudio, Mungia, Gatika, Erandio y Plentzia.

En cada una de estas seis localidades se han colocado columnas informativas en los puntos más representativos y en cada localidad se trata una temática diferente.

La Ruta Medieval de Uribe, pretende dar así a conocer, los elementos patrimoniales de la comarca.

De Bakio, nos vamos a Armintza. 18,5 kilómetros, con dificultad media.

Para continuar nuestro sendero, debemos volver desde Bakio hasta Larrauri, desde donde llegaremos al centro de Maruri-Jatabe, atravesando el apacible barrio rural de Markaida. Desde la iglesia de Maruri-Jatabe continuaremos trayecto atravesando el barrio de Billelabaso hasta alcanzar la cima de Urizarmendi, desde donde continuaremos hasta llegar a Armintza.

Nos queda poco. La siguiente etapa va desde Mungia a Plentzia. La dificultad es baja. Son 14,8 kilómetros en total.

Arrietatik Bakiora joan zaitezke. 18 kilometro daude herri bien artean eta gutxi gora behera lau ordu ta erdian egin ditzakezu. Zailtasuna, txikia da.

Meñakarantz egingo dugu aurrera Agirre auzotik (Arrieta) igaroz. Meñakako erdigunea gurutzatuko dugu, Bakiorantz egiteko, Larrauri auzotik, Zumetzagako (Mungia) San Miguel bitxi erromanikotik igaroz. Handik beherantz eginaz Bakiora helduko gara, bertan aukera ugari aurkituz, San Pelaioko eliza erromanikoa bisitatzea adibidez.

Bakiotik Armintzara goaz. 18,5 kilometro eta zailtasuna, erdi mailakoa da.

Desde el caserío Landetxo Goikoa de Mungia, actual parque mitológico vasco, siguiendo el camino marcado hasta el barrio de Atxuri, y desde éste, atravesando el municipio de Gatika lateralmente, llegaremos hasta el Castillo de Butrón, desde donde seguiremos el curso del río Butrón hasta su desembocadura en el mar cantábrico. Al final de esta etapa, podremos recorrer la villa marinera de Plentzia, e incluso visitar su museo marítimo

Bakiotik Larraurira itzuliaz egingo dugu aurrera bidean, eta handik Maruri-Jatabeko erdigunera helduko gara, Markaidako auzo lasaia gurutzatuz. Maruri-Jatabeko elizatik Billelabaso auzoan zehar aurrera eginaz Urizarmendi gailurrera helduko gara eta handik aurrera egingo dugu Armintzara heldu arte.

Por último, en la localidad de Larrabetzu, puedes realizar un recorrido de 19,8 kilómetros.

We`ll continue the path to Meñaka, going past Agirre (Arrieta) suburb. We`ll go through the heart of Meñaka and we`ll continue the tour to Bakio, going past Larrauri suburb, and San Miguel de Zumetzaga (Mungia) romanic jewell, from where we`ll go down to reach the centre of Bakio, a town with different options such as the visit to San Pelaio Romanesque church.

From Bakio, we set off for Arminza. 18.5 kilometres, it has medium difficulty. In order to continue our path, we have to come back from Bakio to Larrauri, from where we`ll arrive in the centre of Maruri-Jatabe going through Markaida peaceful rural suburb. From MaruriJatabe church we`ll keep on our way going through Billelabaso to Urizarmendi top, from where we`ll continue to reach Arminza.

There is little left. The next stage goes from Mungia to Plentzia, It has little difficulty. It is 14.8 kilometres altogether. From Mungia Landetxo Goikoa cottage, present Basque mythological park, following the marked path to Atxuri suburb and from this one, going past Gatika laterally, we`ll reach Butron Castle, from where we`ll follow Butron river course to its mouth in the Bay of Biscay. At the end of this stage, we`ll be able to visit Plentzia sailing town, and even to visit its maritime museum.

Si te acercas a Larrabetzu, la columna informativa esta junto al Palacio Angulería y la temática es el Camino de Santiago y la Ruta Juradera de la época Medieval. No nos podemos olvidar que Larrabetzu, ha sido lugar de paso de rutas importantes. Es en el siglo XV cuando esta localidad se convierte en parada obligatoria de la Ruta Juradera.

At present an explanatory guided-book about the full development of the path, with information about all the towns of the region, interesting subjects and the points to be visited has been published. It is entitled GR-280 Uribe and it is already available in the libraries.

RETURN TO THE MEDIEVAL TIME IN URIBE Many are the medieval fairs that are organised in all the territory throughout the year. But if you like the time and you do not want to wait for those fairs, in Uribe, Biscayan region, you have the possibility to make a tour that will show you a bit more of the Middle Age. You will have to visit Larrabetzu, Zamudio, Mungia, Gatika, Erandio and Plentzia. In each of these towns, informative posts have been situated in the most representative points and there is a different subject in each town.

En Zamudio, encontrarás la columna informativa en la torre de Zamudio o Zamudiotorre. La temática, en este caso, es la alimentación en la época medieval y su evolución hasta nuestros días. En la Edad Media el hambre se padecía frecuentemente en toda Europa y era elemento diferenciador de la jerarquía social.

En Mungia, la columna se sitúa junto a Torrebillela y la temática son las Villas y las Anteiglesias. En este municipio convivían ambas en un mismo espacio. La fundación de la Villa se debió a la necesidad de proteger a la población.

Si te acercas a Gatika, conocerás la vestimenta medieval. Para ello tendrás que ir al Castillo de Butrón. En este caso, conviene tener en cuenta que a comienzos del mes de junio se recrea el Mercado Medieval, en el cual, se organizan actividades y talleres y no se olvidan del atuendo de la época.

En Erandio, la temática, son los linajes medievales y la columna informativa se sitúa en las inmediaciones de la torre Martiartu. La ubicación estratégica de esta localidad y su emplazamiento, han condicionado la dualidad de compartir el nacimiento y desarrollo de actividades artesanales e industriales y el mantenimiento de un carácter rural.

En los alrededores de la localidad, no te pierdas, sus verdes montañas, la crestería de Anboto y el Parque Natural de Urkiola. Si eres amante de la naturaleza, te encantara la zona.

El Parque Natural tiene una extensión de 5768 ha y fue creado como tal en el año 1989. Allí, en Urkiola, a las faldas del monte Saibi, se encuentra el Santuario de San Antonio. Son muchísimos los feligreses que todos los 13 de junio, día de San Antonio, se acercan al monasterio.

Te recomendamos, a su vez, visitar Neberondo.

Esta zona de Durango con magníficas vistas y acondicionada como pequeño parque, conserva una antigua nevera en la que, desde tiempos seculares, se fabricó y almacenó el hielo que luego era distribuido para, entre otras cosas, la elaboración de los antiguamente famosos granizados de limón de Durango.

Esta localidad, al final, se convierte, en mas que un cruce de caminos. Es un punto de encuentro, con numerosos atractivos.

El casco viejo de Plentzia ofrece un precioso conjunto de variopintas construcciones en el que se mezclan los restos de antiguas casas de marinos, con edificios históricos como la Iglesia.

Visitar el municipio de Plentzia requiere de un paseo por entre las estrechas calles de su casco antiguo que, pese a las profundas transformaciones sufridas por el municipio durante el último siglo, conserva aún ese encanto propio de los lugares históricos. Esta combinación arquitectónica hace de la villa un lugar de gran atractivo por el que el paseante puede rastrear un intenso pasado histórico pleno de tradiciones.

Podemos comenzar nuestro paseo por el Arco de Santiago. Es el único resto visible de la muralla que cerraba la villa y de la que no se conocen más vestigios, a excepción de un documento municipal en el que se hace mención de la utilización del espacio ocupado por sus restos para la construcción de la casa denominada Arrartena (hoy Batzoki) en el siglo XVIII y otra a la entrada de Artekale.

Konbinazio arkitektoniko honek, erakargarritasun handia duen uria bihurtzen du, bisitariak tradizioz betetako iragan historikoaren barri jasoz.

Visiting Plentzia`s old quarter requires a walk along its narrow streets that despite of the transformations that the town suffered during the last century, still has the peculiar charm of the historic places. This architectural combination makes the town a great attractive place, along which the passers-by can trace the historic past full of traditions.

Destaca sobre todo por el sólido aspecto de su torre, un prisma cúbico porticado que domina la plaza donde se ubica.

Tras la cabecera de la Iglesia parroquial de Santa María Magdalena, se encuentra el Caserio Goñi Portal, que como su nombre evoca, se situaba en las inmediaciones del portal o arco de Santiago del recinto amurallado de la Villa.

La historia naval de este municipio rezuma en cada uno de los rincones de esta bonita localidad. Es uno de esos lugares que apetece conocer y una vez que conoces, por supuesto, deseas repetir. Acogedora y bella a partes iguales Plentzia es, sin duda, una villa con historia.

El Bosque de Oma es una obra artística del escultor y pintor Agustín Ibarrola. Se encuentra situada en la Reserva Natural de Urdaibai, exactamente en una de las laderas del valle de Oma, en la localidad de Kortezubi (Bizkaia), cerca de la Cueva de Santimamiñe, y no muy lejos del antiguo domicilio del artista.

Omako Basoa Agustín Ibarrola eskultore eta pintorearen artelana da. Urdaibako Erreserba Naturalean kokatzen da, Omako bailaran zehatz esateko, Kortezubin (Bizkaia), Santimamiñeko Haitzulotik hurbil eta egilearen antzinako etxetik ez oso urrun.

Oma`s Wood is a work of art by the sculptor and painter Agustín Ibarrola. It is located in the Urdaibai Natural Reservation, exactly on one of the slopes of Oma`s valley, in the locality of Kortezubi (Biscay), near Santimamiñe`s caves and not very from the artist`s home.

Consiste en un bosque de pino de Monterrey en cuyos árboles se han realizado pinturas que componen, entre varios árboles, diferentes figuras humanas, animales y geométricas, algunas de las cuales solo se hacen visibles desde posiciones determinadas, en las que las imágenes de distintos troncos forman una imagen conjunta.

TORRE LOIZAGA Loizaga Tower is an impressive medieval fortress from the thirteenth century, located in an “encartada town”” referring to towns surrounding Bilbao” in Galdames, in Gordejuela suburb. Destroyed by a lightning and restored afterwards to show us an evocated aspect from past times that you can almost revive, sheltering in its walls.

La Torre de Loizaga es una imponente fortaleza medieval del siglo XIII situada en el municipio encartado de Galdames, en el barrio de Concejuelo. Destruida por un rayo y posteriormente reconstruida para ofrecernos un aspecto evocador de épocas pasadas que casi se pueden revivir al abrigo de sus murallas.

Loizagako Dorrea, Enkarterrietako Galdames herriko Concejuelo auzoan dagoen XIII. mendeko ertaroko izugarrizko gotorlekua da.

Tximista batek desegin zuen baina eraberritu egin zuten bere harresien babespean bizi daitezkeen aspaldiko garaietako itxura eskeiniz.

En el año 1985 comenzaron las obras de reconstrucción del actual Castillo de Concejuelo.

Una bellísima fortaleza que consta de una torre de 25 metros, rodeada de diferentes estancias que forman el castillo, un foso con puente levadizo y varias hileras de murallas, cuyas paredes exteriores se corresponden con las originales, siendo suficiente motivo para su vista y contemplación.

Entre los muros de la torre, encontramos la colección privada más importante y completa de Rolls Royce del mundo, hasta que la firma fue comprada por la marca bávara BMW en 1998.

Dorrearen hormen artean, munduko Rolls Roycen bilduma pribadurik osotuena eta garrantzitsuena aurkituko dugu, firma hau BMV marka alemaniarrak erosi zuen arte 1998an.

In the year 1985 the restoring works for the present Gordejuelo Castle started. A beautiful tower that consists of a 25 metres tower surrounded by different rooms that make up the castle, a moat with a drawbridge, and several lines of city walls whose exterior walls are like the original ones, just being enough reason for its view and contemplation.

Within the tower walls, we can find the most important and complete collection of Rolls Royce in the world, until the company was bought by the Bavarian make BMW in 1998

Mercedes, Cadillac, Porche… y todas las décadas del siglo XX, desde un “Allen Runabout” de 1899, un “RR Silver Spur” de 1990 pasando por un “RR Silver Ghost Alpine Eagle” de 1914, un “Phantom IV” de 1956 que tras pasar la II Guerra Mundial de este modelo se construyeron 18 unidades quedando 17 piezas en el mundo. El que se exhibe en el museo perteneció al emir de Kuwait. Desde el deportivo radical “Lamborghini Countach”, hasta un hermoso camión de bomberos de 1936, de la firma “Merryweather” perteneciente al parque automovilístico inglés y un curioso carruaje del año 1885, y un largo etcétera hasta un total de 75 vehículos (43 de ellos Rolls Royce) en perfecto estado de conservación.

El impresionante conjunto de automóviles aquí reunidos, es el fruto de un exhaustivo estudio sobre la historia de la firma británica, que se complementa con una serie de piezas de diferentes marcas que datan desde los albores de la era del automóvil, hasta nuestros días.

Todos ellos tuvieron su momento de gloria.

Hoy descansan en Torre Loizaga, tranquilos y orgullosos de un pasado repleto de esplendor.

Ferrari, Jaguar, Mercedes, Cadillac, Porche… eta XX. Mendeko hamarkada guztiak, 1899ko “Allen Runabout” batetik hasi, 1990ko “RR Silver Spur”-arekin jarraituz, edo1914ko “RR Silver Ghost Alpine Eagle”-a ere. 1956ko “Phantom IV”-a ere badago. Bigarren munduko guda amaitu zenetik kotxe mota honen 18 ale egin ziren eta 17 geratzen dira munduan. Museoan dagoena Kuwait-eko emirrarena izan zen. “Lamborghini Countach” kirol ibilgailuak, 1936. urteko su hiltzaileen kamioi batek, “Merryweather” motakoa kamioi ingelesak, 1885eko gurdi bitxi batek etabar luzeak osotzen dute bilduma. Idiosincrasia del Bilbaíno Bilbotarraren idiosinkrazia Bilbao people`s idiosyncrasy Empezaré, como se debe comenzar todo artículo o escrito cualquiera que se precie, con un “Érase una vez…” o “Esta era la historia de…”, pero no voy a hablar del pasado y el recorrido histórico de la villa. En esta sección iré disertando acerca del presente y el futuro del botxo, sus costumbres y sus gentes. Érase una vez una persona nacida en un emplazamiento entre montañas cuya Ría desembocaba en el mismísimo Mar Cantábrico, es decir, bilbaíno que asimismo es conocido como “De Bilbao de toda la vida o relativo a esta ciudad, capital de la provincia de Bizkaia, que se encuentra en la comunidad autónoma del País Vasco”, además de esta serie de tópicos: tozudo, exagerado, seco y desconfiado. Aunque cuando se nos conoce también somos abiertos, gentiles, amables y directos; que para mucha gente puede resultar incómodo pero muchos, yo incluido, lo consideramos una virtud.

Claro que no todos somos iguales. Más allá de los tópicos habría que distinguir entre los de la margen derecha, los del centro de Bilbao o los de la margen izquierda. Y fuera de las fronteras del valle hay infinidad de gentes, culturas e ideologías diferentes. Ahí el bilbaíno es plural y en cualquier lugar, tierra o comunidad que visite, convive de forma respetuosa. Ya se sabe que el de Bilbao nace donde quiere y es universal. Así que, como personas agradecidas que somos, nos gusta ser bien recibidos donde vayamos y devolvemos esa hospitalidad a las gentes que visitan nuestra tierra.

En fin, la ciudad cambia, siempre en constante evolución y sus habitantes no se andan a la zaga.

Siempre hacia delante y con los brazos abiertos a todo el mundo. ¡Bienvenidos a Bilbao!

Artikulu edo idatziak hasi behar diran moduan hasiko naiz, “Bazegoen behin…” edo “Hau haren historia zen…” esanaz, baina ez noa iraganaz edo uriaren ibilbide historikoaz hitz egitera. Atal honetan “botxo”-aren orainaz eta etorkizunaz, bere ohituraz eta jenteetaz hitz egingo dut.

Bazegoen behin, mendien arteko kokaleku baten, ibaia Kantauri itsasora doan lekuan jaiotako pertsona bat, hau da, bilbotarra “Bilbokoa betidanik edo Bizkaiko uriburukoa, Euskal Autonomia Erkidegoan”. Topiko hauek ere aipatu daitezke: burugogorra, ahozabala, sikua eta mesfidatia. Ezagutzerakoan zabalak, jentilak, maitagarriak eta zuzenak ere bagaren arren, askorentzat deserosoa bada ere, niretzat barne, bertutea kontsideratzen dugu.

Hori bai, guztiok ez gara berdinak. Topikoak alde batera utzita, Eskumaldekoak, Bilbo erdikoak edo Ezkerraldekoak bereiztu behar dira. Eta haranaren mugeatik kanpora milaka jente, kultura eta ideologia desbardinak daude. Horietan, bilbotarra plurala da eta bisitatzen duen edozein leku, lurralde edo komunitatetan, errespetu osoz bizi da. Jakina da bilbotarra nahi duen lekuan jaio dela eta unibertsala dela. Beraz, esker onekoak garenez, joaten garen lekuetan ondo hartuak izatea nahi dugu, gure lurraldea bisitatzen dutenei abegikortasuna bueltatuz.

Azken baten, uria aldatu egiten da, beti dago etenik gabeko bilakaeran eta bere biztanleak ez dira atzean geratzen. Beti aurrera begira, beti besoak zabalik mundu osoari. Ongi etorri Bilbora!

I`ll start, as any respected article or document must be started with, “Once upon a time…..” or “This was the story about…..”, but I am not going to speak about the past and the historic life of the villa. In this section I will expound on the botxo`s present and future, its culture and people.

Once upon a time, there was a person born in a location among mountains of which its estuary flew into the Bay of Biscay, so Bilbaino, as it is known as “From Bilbao lifelong or relating to this city, capital of Biscay`s province, which is located in the Basque Autonomous Region”, apart from these series of topics: stubborn, exaggerated, curt and distrustful. Although, when people get to know us, we are also open, kind, friendly and straightforward; which for many people can be uncomfortable, including myself, we consider it a virtue.

Of course, not all of us are the same. Beyond the topics, we should distinguish between the ones from the right bank of the estuary, the ones from the centre of Bilbao or the ones from the left bank of the estuary. And in the outskirts of the valley, there are a great number of people, cultures and different ideologies. There, the Bilbaino is plural and anywhere, land or region that he visits, he coexists in a very respectful way. It is well known that Bilbao is born where it wishes and it is universal. So as we are grateful people, we like to be well welcomed wherever we go and we return it to the people that visit our homeland.

Anyway, the city changes, always in constant evolution and its inhabitants are not in the rear.

Always going forwards, and with their arms open to everybody. Welcome to Bilbao!!!

Pocos serán los turistas en el mundo, que no dediquen parte de sus visitas a conocer museos. Si no eres uno de esos, si a ti te gustan los museos, en Gipuzkoa, podrás gozar con ellos.

Comenzamos presentándote Ekainberri, en Zestoa. Hablamos, más concretamente de la cueva de Ekain y sus impresionantes pinturas, las cuales se enseñan en Ekainberri, puesto que la cueva está cerrada. Ekain se encuentra en la ladera oriental de la colina del mismo nombre, entorno a un kilómetro de Zestoa, desde donde tiene fácil acceso. Es conocida por sus pinturas rupestres magdalenienses, y hay que subrayar que la conservación de éstas es excepcional.

Fue el 8 de Junio de 1969, cuando los espeleólogos azpeitiarras Andoni Albizuri y Rafael Rezabal, descubrieron la cueva de Ekain y sus impresionantes pinturas. Actuaron de inmediato poniendo en manos de arqueólogos profesionales (D. José Miguel de Barandiarán y D. Jesús Altuna) su descubrimiento.

En la cueva existen aproximadamente 70 figuras de animales, 64 de ellas pintadas y 6 grabadas. El caballo es la figura más representada. Su conjunto ecuestre es uno de los más bellos y ricos del arte franco-cántabro, y es considerado como el mejor lienzo de pared en su especie. Entre el resto de figuras Ekain hallamos osos, ciervos, cápridos...

La cueva de Ekain, junto con otros 14 santuarios de arte rupestre de la Cornisa Cantábrica como Altxerri y Santimamiñe, fue declarada Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad en la

Ekain, izen berbera duen muinaren ekialdeko mendialdean dago, Zestoatik kilometro batera, bertatik sarrera erraza izanik. Magdalena garaiko haitzuloetako margoengatik da ezaguna eta azpimarratzekoa da, ezin hobeto mantendu direla.

We start presenting Ekainberri, in Zestoa.

We are referring specifically to Ekain`s cave and its amazing paintings, which are shown in Ekainberri as the cave is closed. Ekain is located in the eastern slope of the hill with the same name at about one kilometre from Zestoa, from where there is an easy access.

It is known for its Magdalenian cave paintings and it is woth mentioning the fact that their preservation is exceptional.

1969ko ekainaren 8n Andoni Albizuri eta Rafael Rezabal Azpeitiako espeleologoek deskubritu zituzten Ekaineko kobazuloa eta bertako margo ikaragarriak. Espeleogoloak eurak, eta euren deskubrimendua arkeologo profesionalen (Jose Miguel Barandiaren eta Jesus Altuna jaunak) esku utziz.

It was on the 8th June,1969 when the speleologists Aipeitarras Andoni Albizuri and Rafael Rezabal discovered Ekain`s cave and its impressive paintings. They handed it to professional archaeologists (Josè Marìa de Barandiaran esq and Jesùs Altuna esq) their discovery.

Kobazuloan, gutxi gora behera, animalien 70 irudi daude, euretatik 64 margotuta eta 6 grabatuta. Zaldia agertzen da gehienetan.

Margoen bilduma hau, arte frankokantauriarreko ederrena eta aberatsena da eta bere motako hormako-atal hoberena kontsideratzen da. Ekainen, zaldiez gain, artzak, oreinak, ahuntzak… daude.

There are about 70 figures of animals, 64 of them painted and 6 engraved. The horse is the most depicted one. Its equestrian set is one of the most beautiful and richest of the frankishcantabrian art and it is considered to be one of the best canvas on a wall of this kind. Among the rest of the figures in Ekain, we find bears, deers, capridos….

Ekaineko kobazuloa, Altxerri eta Santimamiñe bezala, Kantauriko haitzuloetako artearen beste 14 santutegiekin batera, Gizateriaren Munduko ondare izendatu zuten, UNESCOk 2008ko uztailaren 7an egindako konferentzian.

Ekain`s cave together with other 14 cave painting sanctuaries on the Cantabrian coast such as Altxerri and Santimamiñe were declared World Heritage in the conference held by the Unesco on the 7th , July 2008.

Como decimos, es en Ekainberri, un complejo proyecto arquitectónico y museográfico, donde se enseña la cueva, puesto que ésta, está cerrada. La réplica, diseñada por el arquitecto Jose María Alberdi, es un gran edificio de hormigón y acero corten integrado y enterrado en el privilegiado valle de Sastarrain.

Si te acercas a Donostia-San Sebastian, te recomendamos, entre otros, visites el Untzi Museoa. Museo Naval. Se sitúa en el puerto, ocupando la Casa-Torre Consulado, edificio del siglo XVIII. Este edificio lo utilizaban los marinos y comerciantes de la ciudad como almacén e incluso como domicilio del teniente de muelles.

El museo como tal, mientras tanto, se abrió al público en el año 1991. La intención entonces fue contribuir a la recuperación del patrimonio marítimo vasco.

En la actualidad, podemos disfrutar con la exposición “Los vascos y el Pacifico. Homenaje a Andres de Urdaneta”, exposición que se mostrará a lo largo del año 2010. Esta muestra trata de dar a conocer la historia de la presencia vasca en el Pacífico incluyendo territorios insulares como Filipinas o Japón y áreas geográficas como la costa oeste del continente americano o las tierras litorales del sur de China. As we say, it is in Ekainberri, a complex architectural and museographic project, where ,as the cave is closed, is shown. The replica designed by Jose Maria Alberdi, is a big concrete and corten steel building integrated and buried in the privileged Sastarrain valley.

If you come near Donostia-San Sebastian, we recommend , among others, visit Untzi Museum. Naval Museum. It is located in the port, occupying the Casa-Torre Consulado, a building from the eighteenth century. This building was used by the sailors and merchants as a warehouse and even as the address of the Deputy of the dock. The museum as it is, was opened to the public in 1991. At present, we can enjoy with the exposition.

“Basques and the Pacific. Homage to Andres de Urdaneta”, an exposition that will be shown throughout the year 2010. This exhibition tries to publicize the history of the Basque presence in the Pacific, including insular territories like Philippines and Japan and geographic regions like the western coast of the American continent or the coastal lands from southern China. It is reported on the outstanding performance by the Basques in the exploration and discoveries of new sailing and trading routes, besides their active economic , scientific, cultural, administrative, military and religious duties.

Mientras tanto, en el interior, en el valle de Santa Lucia en Ezkio-Itsaso, el caserío museo Igartubeiti te dejara con la boca abierta. Se trata de un caserío que fue construido a mediados del siglo XVI, considerado representante de la edad de oro del caserío vasco. La casa Igartubeiti alcanzó su plenitud a principios del siglo XVII, momento en el que fue ampliada y sufrió una importante transformación para adaptarse a nuevas formas de vida y trabajo. Su estructura original de madera, excelentemente conservada, y la existencia en su interior de un gran lagar de sidra hacen de él uno de los caseríos más interesantes del País Vasco.

La Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa adquirió el caserío en el año 1992, con el objetivo de evitar su desaparición. Una vez restaurado, ha recuperado la imagen histórica que tenia a comienzos del siglo XVII. Eso si, en su interior, el caserío se ha convertido en museo.

La restauración de Igartubeiti fue calificada de modélica. Conviene mencionar que la Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa lleva más de 25 años desarrollando programas de restauración de caseríos, con la intención de garantizar la transmisión de este lagado a generaciones futuras.

En Igartubeiti encontraremos una recreación de la vida real en los antiguos caseríos. El museo reúne un conjunto de valores culturales, históricos, antropológicos, arquitectónicos y simbólicos que hacen de él un elemento clave del patrimonio vasco.

Junto al caserío, se creó un centro de interpretación, en el cual, se da aún más información sobre la historia de los caseríos vascos. Desde este centro se gestionan las visitas y se organizan actividades en torno a la historia del caserío.

Gipuzkoako Foru Aldundiak 1992an bereganatu zuen baserria, desagertzea saihesteko. Behin eraberrituta, XVII. Mendearen hasieran zeukan irudi historikoa berreskuratu du. Hori bai, barrualdean, baserria, museo bihurtu da.

Igartubeitiren eraberritzea eredugarri kontsideratu zuten. Aipatu behar, Gipuzkoako Foru Aldundiak 25 urte daramatzala baserriak eraberritzeko programarekin, etorkizuneko belaunaldiei ondare honen zabalkundea bermatzeko asmoz.

Igartubeitin, antzinako baserrien benetako bizimodua erakutsiko digute. Museoak balore kultural, historiko, antropologiko, arkitektoniko eta sinbolikoak biltzen ditu, euskal ondarearen oinarrizko elementu bihurtuz.

The chronological development goes from the sixteenth century, time of the discoveries (with sections dedicated to Juan Sebastiàn Elcano, Andrès de Urdaneta, and Miguel Lopèz de Legazpi) until the present days, regarding to the trading exchanges with Asia, Basque companies establishments in China and the emigrants` arrival from that origin. Apart from the expositions, the museum keeps the targets from the beginning: contribute with the preservation, study, spreading of the history and the Basques` maritime heritage.

Meanwhile, in the inland, in Santa Lucia`s valley in Ezkio- Itsaso, Igartubeiti`s cottage museum will take your breath away. It is a cottage that was built in the middle of sixteenth century, which is considered to be the golden age representative of the Basque cottage.

Igartubeiti`s house reached its peak at the beginning of the seventeenth century, a moment in which it was extended and suffered an important transformation to get adapted to new ways of working and life. Its original wooden structure, very well kept and the existence of a cider winepress inside make of it one of the most interesting cottages in the Basque Country.

Guipuzcoa`s Provincial Council acquired the cottage in 1992 to avoid its disappearance.

Once being restored, has got back its historic image that it had at the beginning of the seventeenth century. However, the cottage interior has been changed into a museum.

Igartubeiti`s restoration was described as a model one. It is worth mentioning that Guipuzcoa`s Provincial Council has been for 25 years developing programmes for restoration of cottages, in order to guarantee the transfer of this legacy to future generations.

In Igartubeiti, we`ll find a recreation of the real life in the old cottages. The museum gathers a set of cultural, historical, anthropological, architectural and symbolic which is the key factor of the Basque Heritage.

Next to the cottage, an interpretation centre was created, in which further information is given about the history of the Basque cottages.

From this centre the visits are negotiated and activities about the history of the cottages are organised.

El molino hidráulico, sus grandes fuelles y el mazo de ferrería eran el modo de producir hierro antes de la aparición de los altos hornos.

La ferrería de Agorregi permite conocer el sistema utilizado durante siglos. Fue construida en el siglo XVIII, sobre una anterior por el señor del palacio de Laurgain. Contó para ello con el arquitecto Francisco Ibero, quien diseñó un ingenioso entramado de canales, presas y depósitos para aprovechar al máximo los limitados recursos hidráulicos de la cuenca.

Tras su restauración por parte de la Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa, el complejo ferro-molinero de Agorregi vuelve a funcionar en la actualidad con fines didácticos.

La visita a esta instalación del patrimonio preindustrial resulta un interesante complemento a la inmersión en la naturaleza que realizan quienes se adentran en el parque natural de Pagoeta. Este parque, propiedad de la Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa, está situado muy cerca de la costa, a pocos kilómetros de Orio y Zarautz, enclavado en el término municipal de Aia. El parque cuenta con una amplia gama de valores patrimoniales de gran interés tanto naturalístico y paisajístico como histórico, arqueológico y etnográfico.

Arqueología de Araba y los naipes de todo el mundo Arabako arkeologia eta mundu osoko kartak Araba’s archaelogy and cards from all over the world

BIBAT

El llamado museo BIBAT, es un museo nuevo que nos muestra, por un lado, elementos arqueológicos de la historia de Álava, y por otro, naipes de todos los tiempos y lugares. Es la fusión BIBAT (dos en uno) que integra el nuevo museo arqueológico con el museo Fournier .

BIBAT izeneko museoa, museo berria da, non, alde batetik, Arabako historiaren elementu arkeologikoak eta bestetik, garai eta toki ugaritako kartak erakusten diren. BIBAT fusioak (biak baten), arkeologia museoa eta Fournier museoa barneratzen ditu.

El BIBAT está ubicado integrando el palacio renacentista de Bendaña, un edificio con casi 35 años de historia. Eso sí, fue en la primavera del pasado año 2009 cuando se inauguró el complejo museístico.

BIBAT, Bendañako jauregi errenazentistan dago kokatua, ia 35 urteko historia duen jauregian. Hori bai, aurreko urteko udabarrian inauguratu zen museoen multzoa bera.

Lo que es el nuevo museo arqueológico, se ubica en un edificio de nueva creación, diseñado por el arquitecto Patxi Mangado, que ha recibido el premio 2009 de la Asociación europea del Cobre por el uso de este material en su fachada. Cuenta con alrededor de 1.500 piezas que recorren la historia de Araba desde la Prehistoria a la Edad Media y para mostrar esta exposición permanente, se aprovechan las tres plantas del edificio. En cada una de ellas se dividen las piezas cronológicamente, comenzando en el Paleolítico y finalizando en los últimos siglos, piezas procedentes de todas las intervenciones arqueológicas desarrolladas en el territorio histórico de Araba desde finales del siglo XIX. Pero si lo que te interesa son los naipes y el juego, en el complejo BIBAT, podemos echar una partida en el museo Fournier de naipes. No será cosa fácil elegir los naipes, puesto que la colección sobrepasa los 20.000 ejemplares.

The so-called BIBAT museum is a new museum that shows us, on the one hand, archaeological elements of the history of Araba, and on the other hand playing cards from all time and places. It is the merger BIBAT (one in two) which forms the new archaelogical museum with Fournier`s museum.

Fué en 1916, tras la muerte de Heraclio Fournier, cuando comenzó a confeccionarse la colección del museo. El artífice fue su nieto Felix Alfaro Fournier, quien le sucedió al frente de la fábrica de naipes. Su afán coleccionista, junto al interés profesional como fabricante, propiciaron el inicio de la colección.

BIBAT, a nearly thirty-five-year- old history building is incorporated in the Renaissance palace called Bendaña. However, it was in the spring of the past 2009, when the museum complex was opened. The part of the new archaeological museum is located in a new creation building designed by the architecture Patxi Mangado, who has received the prize from the European Copper association, for using this material on its facade. There are about 1,500 pieces that go through the history of Araba, from the Prehistory to the Medieval times, and to show this permanent exposition, three floors are used. The pieces are divided chronologically in each of them, from the Palaeolithic to the last centuries, pieces from all the archaeological works done in the historic territory in Araba since the end of then nineteenth century.

Los naipes los encontrarás en el mismo Palacio de Arrieta-Maestu o Palacio de Bendaña, como hemos mencionado anteriormente. Este es un palacio que se empezó a construir en el año 1515, por mandato de Juan Lopez Arrieta y se terminó en el año 1560 aproximadamente. Fue la Diputación Foral de Araba la que adquirió el palacio y tras su restauración, instaló el museo Fournier de Naipes.

Kartak, Arrieta-Maestu edo Bendañoko jauregian bertan aurkituko dituzu, lehenago esan bezala. Jauregi hau 1515.ean hasi ziren eraikitzen, Juan Lopez Arrietaren aginduz eta, gitxi gora behera, 1560.an amaitu zen.

Sitúate en el casco medieval de Vitoria-Gasteiz y, desde el Centro Cultural Montehermoso, avanzando hacia el eje que forman el resto de museos (Naipes, Arqueológico, Ciencias Naturales), llegarás a la calle Francia, donde el museo Artium se convierte en extremo de uno de los ejes culturales de la capital de Araba.

Ofrece este Centro Museo Vasco de arte contemporáneo, el cual lo conforman las numerosas obras adquiridas por la Diputación Foral de Araba desde mediados de los años 70, obras que conforman la colección ARTIUM, y conjunto que no ha dejado de crecer desde entonces. La colección está integrada por alrededor de 3.000 obras de arte; pinturas, esculturas, fotografías o videos de artistas vascos, españoles y extranjeros. Sin duda alguna, la colección tiene identidad propia y carácter diferencial respecto a otros museos de Euskadi, y el Artium ofrece distintas exposiciones para mostrar su colección. La exposición se modifica aproximadamente, cada año.

This Basque Museum Centre of contemporary art offers,( which is made by lots of the works acquired by Araba County Council since the middle of the 70s), works that make Artium`s collection, and it has not stopped growing since.

Declarada monumento nacional de Euskadi, La Colegiata de Zenarruza se sitúa a los pies del monte Oiz y a escasos kilómetros del núcleo urbano de Bolibar (Bizkaia). Fue un importante enclave dentro de la ruta jacobea de la costa y su influencia se extendía más allá de la comarca superando el ámbito religioso.

Euskadiko monumentu nazionala izendatutako Ziortzako Monastegia, Oiz mendiaren magalean dago, Bolibarreko (Bizkaia) erdigunetik kilometro eskas batzuetara. Kostaldeko Santiago Bidearen enklabe garrantzitsua izan zen eta bere eragina eskualdetik haratago zihoan, erligio maila gaindituz.

Existe una leyenda datada en el siglo X sobre la Colegiata de Zenarruza, que dice que el día de Asunción del año 968 los vecinos celebraban misa en la iglesia de Santa Lucia de Garay en Guerricaiz y un águila cogió una calavera de una tumba que estaba abierta y se la llevó hasta dejarla caer en el lugar donde hoy está la iglesia de la colegiata. Los vecinos entendieron este hecho como una señal y levantaron, en el lugar donde el águila dejo la calavera, el complejo religioso.

Ziortzako Montastegiaren inguruko X. mendeko kondaira baten arabera, 968. urteko Jasokunde egunean, herritarrak Gerrikaitzeko Santa Luzia elizan zeudela meza entzuten, arrano batek zabalik zegoen hilobi bateko burezur bat hartu zuen eta, gaur egun monastegiko eliza dagoan lekura bota.

Herritarrentzat, honakoa seinale bat izan zen, eta arranoak burezurra utzitako lekuan eraikin erligiosoa egin zuten.

Having been declared as National monument in the Basque Country, the Collegiate is located at the feet of the Oiz Mount and at very few kilometres from the city centre in Bolibar (Biscay). It was an important enclave in the route of Saint James on the coast and its influence was spread further than the region exceeding the religious field.

There is a legend dated in the 10th century about Zenarruza Collegiate, that says that on the Assumption day in the year 968, the neighbours were having mass at Santa Lucia of Garay in Guerricaiz, and an eagle took a skull from a tomb that was open and carried it until it dropped in onto the place Collegiate Church is now. The neighbours understood that as a sign, and put the religious complex up , where the eagle left the skull.

59 La Bodega Palacio es una de las más antiguas de Rioja. Sus más de cien años de historia lo atestiguan. Esto, unido a la evidente evolución en el ámbito del vino, ha proporcionado a los vinos de la bodega la característica de una buena relación calidad-precio, gracias a su saber hacer y sus buenos precios.

Durante los años 90 se llevó a acabo la más importante reforma de la bodega, modernizándola, a la vez que ampliándola y dotándola de una enorme capacidad de producción con más de diez mil barricas de roble francés y americano que son renovadas completamente cada seis años.

La finca se encuentra situada en pleno corazón de la Rioja Alavesa, en el municipio de Laguardia.

Junto a sus extensas viñas y a su moderna bodega, cuenta con un pequeño hotel construido en un antiguo edificio del siglo XIX y dedicado al mundo del vino.

Características Vino elaborado exclusivamente con la variedad Tempranillo, esencia del vino de Rioja. La crianza se realiza en barricas de roble francés nuevo de tostado medio durante 12 meses y, posteriormente, al menos 10 meses en botella.

Al servir el vino, éste presenta un color cereza, tirando a granate donde podemos percibir unos destellos azulados. Un vino con una buena limpidez y muy brillante.

La nariz se abre con notas de frutas del bosque, alguna fruta madura también hace su aparición, para terminar sobre un fondo de vainilla. Al airearse, se vuelve más aromático, con especias y hierbas por igual donde la madera demuestra su presencia con sus buenos tostados.

En boca se muestra equilibrado, estructurado y fresco, con esas mismas notas frutales de nariz apuntando algunos matices de chocolate, con un buen recorrido donde los taninos son dulces y bien ensamblados dejándonos un elegante y largo postgusto.

Maridaje Ideal para acompañar un solomillo asado al sarmiento.

Temperatura de servicio: 16º-18ºC aprox.

Vida Es un vino que perfectamente puede vivir en botella hasta los 5 próximos años.

Palacio Upeltegia Errioxako zaharrenetarikoa da, ehun urte baino gehiagoko historia du eta.

Horrez gain, ardoaren munduak izan duen bilakaera kontuan hartzen badugu, upeltegiko ardoek honako ezaugarria hartzen dute: harreman ona kalitate eta prezioaren artean, ongi egiten jakin dutelako eta bere prezio onei esker.

90ko hamarkadan, upeltegiaren eraldatze garrantzitsuena egin zen, eraikina modernizatuz eta era berean handiagoa eginaz. Frantziar eta amerikar haritzagaz egindako hamar mila barrika baino gehiago ekoizteko gaitasuna du eta barrika hauek sei urtero aldatzen dituzte.

Palacio`s winery is one of the oldest in La Rioja. Its over hundred years of history, witness it. This together with the evolution in the wine world, has given to the winery wines the characteristic of good value for money, thanks to its good performance and its good prices .During the 90s, a whole restoration of the winery was made, modernizing it, as well as, making it bigger and giving it a capacity of production with more than ten thousand French Oak barrels which are changed every six years.

The winery is located in the heart of La Rioja Alavesa, in Laguardia. Apart from its vast vineyards and its modern winery, it has a small hotel built in an old building from the nineteenth century and it is dedicated to the wine world.

Characteristics A wine exclusively made with the variety of Tempranillo, essence of the Rioja`s wine. The aging is made in new French Oak barrels half toasted during 12 months, and, subse-quently, in the bottle for at least ten months.

When the wine is served shows a cherry colour, which is more of a maroon where we can notice some blue highlights. A wine with a good limpidity and very bright.The nose is open to red fruit notes, there is also some ripe fruit, to finish with a vanilla essence. When it is aerated, it becomes more aromatic, with species and herbs in equal parts in which the wood shows its presence with its good toasts. It is well balanced in the mouth, structured and fresh, with the same fruity notes in the nose showing some chocolate nuances, with a good way in where the tannins are sweet and good assembled leaving a smart and long after taste.

Telmo Rodríguez, enólogo reconocido por su visión de los vinos, junto a Pablo Eguskiza redescubren antiguos viñedos con unos microclimas muy particulares, donde los vinos elaborados son el reflejo del carácter de la tierra.

Los viñedos con los que se elabora este Lanzaga se encuentran situados entre los 500 y 600 m de altitud. 12 Has de viñedos propios ocupando replanos sobre areniscas del Mioceno continental.

La característica principal de estos suelos llanos, es su pedregosidad, por lo que es evidente su baja retención de agua.

Se encuentran situados en la zona de la Rioja Alavesa, en Lanziego de Alava.

Las variedades de Lanzaga lo componen Tempranillo, Graciano y Garnacha, con una selección de la uva en campo y una recogida totalmente manual. En la bodega pasa 14 meses en barricas confiriéndole aun más personalidad.

Características El vino presenta un color rubí muy intenso con detalles azulados.

La explosiva nariz con la fruta roja madura en primer lugar, dotan a este vino de una agradable sensación olfativa; el regaliz y las notas de cuero le dan un toque de personalidad. Las notas balsámicas resaltan sobre ese fondo de madera perfectamente integrada.

En boca tiene una buena entrada, con una correctísima acidez, sabroso, donde vuelven a aparecer esas notas frutales que nos invadieron la nariz previamente, los taninos están presentes pero sin resultar agresivos y remarcan un final intenso y largo.

Maridaje Rabo de buey estofado.

Vida Este vino puede ser una excelente opción para degustar en los próximos años.

Telmo Rodriguez, ardoetaz duen ikuspegiagatik da enologo ezaguna. Berak eta Pablo Eguskizak, antxinako mahastiak beraurkitzen dituzte, mikroklima oso partikularrak dituztenak.

The vineyards with which this Lanzaga is made, are located at 500 and 600m height.

12hectares of vineyards of their own occupying plains over sandstones from the continental Miocene.The main characteristic of these flat soils, is their stoniness, that`s why the low water retention is evident. They are located in the Rioja Alavesa, in Lanciego in Alava.

Lanzaga`s varieties are made of Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacho with a selection of the grapes in the field and a totally manual harvest. It spends 14 months in the barrels giving it even more personality.

Characteristics The wine presents a very intense ruby red colour with blue details. The explosive nose with ripe red fruit gives this wine a nice sensation when it is smelled. The liquorice and the leather notes give it a touch of personality. The balsamic notes highlight over this wood essence perfectly integrated.

When it is already in the mouth, it has a good entrance with a really right acidity, tasty, where those fruity notes that previously had invaded our nose and the tannins are present, but without being aggressive and emphasizing an intense and long final.

El viñedo se encuentra situado en el extremo sureste del municipio de Muxika, en la falda sur del monte Oiz El peculiar nombre de este txakoli deriva del pozo de río que se encuentra en la finca de la bodega. “Oxin” (pozo de río) y “baltza” (negro u oscuro).

El viñedo, debido a las dificultades montañosas del emplazamiento, tiene una producción muy limitada, por lo que la prioridad es obtener la máxima calidad de cada uva.

La mayoría de la superficie plantada se encuentra en una pendiente más que notable, es por esto que las recogidas son manuales con una selección de uva previa a la bodega que se realiza en la propia viña.

Estos viñedos, que cuentan con una superficie de 23 hectáreas a más de 200 metros de altitud, fueron plantados entre 2006 y 2008. Las variedades cultivadas y su porcentaje son: 40% Hondarrabi Zuri 40% Hondarrabi Zuri Zarratua 8% Riesling 5% Petit Marseng 4% Hondarrabi Beltza 3% Sauvignon Blanc El Txakoli Oxinbaltza está elaborado con las variedades Hondarrabi Zuri y Hondarrabi Zuri Zarratua. El clima predominante es el Atlántico de los Valles Cántabros.

Características Es un vino color amarillo pajizo con ligeros tonos verdosos, muy agradable gracias a su limpidez y brillantez.

Ya en nariz nos asaltan de inicio los ricos aromas frutales, principalmente de fruta blanca, con una buena intensidad de cítricos que resaltan la acidez y frescor, previamente al paso por boca.

La entrada de este vino es claramente fresca, los cítricos vuelven nuevamente a ser los principales actores de esta magnífica obra con la inestimable colaboración de los recuerdos frutales. Este conjunto tiene una persistencia notable y muy agradable.

Maridaje El Txakoli Oxinbaltza resulta ideal para una brocheta de rape con verduras frescas y langostinos.

Vida Este txakoli permanecerá en óptimas condiciones durante mucho tiempo.

Mahastia Muxika herriko hegoekialdean dago, Oiz mendiaren hegoaldeko magalean.

Upeltegiaren eraikinean dagoen putzutik dator txakolin honen izena. Oxin (errekako putzua) eta baltza (kolorea edo iluna).

The vineyard is located in the southern end in Muxika`s town, on the southern slope of the Oiz mount.

The peculiar name of this txakoli comes from the river pool that is in the estate of the winery. Oxin( deep pool ) and Baltza (black or dark ).

The vineyard, owing to its mountainous difficulties of the location, has a very limited production, that`s why the priority is to obtain the best quality from each grape.

Most of the planted area is located on a rather high slope, that is why, the harvest is manual, with a previous selection of the grape before going to the winery that is done in the vineyard itself.

These vineyards which have an area 23 hectares at 200 metres altitude were planted between 2006 and 2008. The varieties grown and their percentage are: 40% Hondarrabi Zuri 40% Hondarrabi Zuri Zarratua 8% Riesling 5% Petit Marseng 4% Hondarribi Beltza 3% Sauvignon Blanc Oxinbaltza Txakoli is made using the varieties Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Hondarrabi Zuri Zarratua. As soon as it is smelled, we get the fruity aromas, basically white fruit, with good intensity in the citrus fruits that stresses the sourness and freshness before getting its way through the mouth.

The way to the mouth is really fresh, citrus fruits are again the main actors of this work with the invaluable collaboration of fruity memories. All of it has a valuable and nice persistence.

Pairing Oxinbaltza Txakoli is ideal for a kebab of monkfish with fresh vegetables and prawns.

Life This Txakoli will keep in optimum conditions for a long time.

Propiedad de Okendo Txakolina, es una explotación de 7,5 hectáreas situada en el municipio de Okondo, Araba. Los vinos de Señorío de Astobiza se elaboran exclusivamente con uva producida en viñedos propios donde el carácter queda reflejado en los vinos elaborados.

El Clima Debido a su proximidad con el Mar Cantábrico, ya que se encuentra en la zona meridional de Alava, cuenta con un excepcional microclima al enclavarse en un valle, perfecto para el cultivo de las variedades blancas. La temperatura media anual oscila entre los 13º y 14º con una pluviometría que asegura las reservas de agua del subsuelo.

El Suelo Tiene su origen en las rocas calizas del Cretácico siendo de textura arcillosa con un carácter ácido.

El Viñedo Ha sido plantado progresivamente entre los años 1996 y 2004.

La producción oscila entre los 6.000 y 8.000 Kg. por hectárea. Gracias a esta baja producción, se consigue una mayor calidad de la uva.

El Txakoli Señorío de Astobiza está compuesto por Hondarrabi Zuri (55%), Petit Corbu (30%) y Gros Marseng (15%). El vino pasará entre dos y tres meses en botella antes de su comercialización.

Características El color es amarillo pajizo con destellos verdosos. Aromas varietales intensos y muy personales, con notas a frutas blancas (pera y manzana), frutos cítricos (pomelo) característicos de la Hondarrabi Zuri, y frutas de hueso (melocotón).

Muy fresco en la boca, sabroso, equilibrado, largo y final aromático de buena persistencia, con un elegante tono amargo de carácter varietal y mineral procedente del suelo del cultivo.

Maridaje Ideal para kokotxas de merluza a la plancha.

Vida Evolucionara favorablemente en botella, alcanzando el máximo de calidad en los siguientes años a la vendimia.

Okendo txakolina jabegoa, 7,5 hektareko uztiategia da, Okendo herrian dagoena, Araban. Señorio de Astobizako ardoak, eurenak diren mahastietan batutako mahatsekin baino ez dira egiten, izaera geratuz egindako ardoetan.

La flota Hurtigruten ha recorrido la costa noruega desde 1893. Sus barcos de exploración comenzaron como correo entre los pueblos hasta que muy pronto comenzó a admitir pasajeros. En la actualidad siguen con la misma función y a lo largo del recorrido realizan 34 paradas desde Bergen hasta Kirkenes -en el norte-, atravesando el mítico Círculo Polar Ártico para llegar a mundos desconocidos y aislados en los que descubrir fabulosos fiordos, monasterios medievales en pequeñas aldeas de casas de madera con grandes ventanales y hospitalarias culturas ancestrales, festivales de las auroras boreales, del vino y la gastronomía; o de competiciones de renos, de huskies, de pesca del bacalao, pasando por conciertos en catedrales, e incluso competiciones de esquí… para niños. Todo ello aderezado con un gran sol de medianoche… Probablemente la última frontera exótica de Europa.

Este nuevo servicio de central de reservas pretende canalizar la demanda hotelera generada en los puntos de información turística, además de la promoción de Bilbao y sus alojamientos. El servicio dispone de un teléfono de información y reservas (902 87 72 98), en horario de lunes a sábado, de 10.00 a 13.30 y de 16.30 a 19.30, y domingos y festivos de 10.00 a 14.00, además de atención personal desde la oficina de turismo de la Plaza del Ensanche y del Teatro Arriaga.
