ATENCIÓN TAXISTA En cualquier momento puede aparecer alguien del equipo de TAXI EN RUTA en tu parada y si comprueba que llevas la revista TAXI EN RUTA a la vista, te obsequiará con un vale para una comida o cena para dos personas en el Restaurante Exanobe.

TAXI EN RUTA es un proyecto compartido por todas las asociaciones de Taxi de Bizkaia.

Colaboramos en su reparto y difusión y está orientada a los visitantes de Bilbao, Bizkaia y País Vasco en general, con el propósito de mostrar nuestra geografía y dar a conocer lo que en cada lugar se puede buscar, ver y degustar.

TAXI EN RUTA Bizkaiko Taxi Elkarte guztiek konpartitzen duten proiektua da. Bere banaketa eta zabalkuntzan laguntzen diogu elkarri eta Bilbo, Bizkaia zein Euskal Herrira datozen bisitariei dago zuzenduta. Gure geografia erakustea da asmoa eta leku bakoitzean zer bilatu, ikusi eta dastatu daitekeen ezagutzera ematea.

TAXI EN ROUTE is a shared project by all the Taxi associations in Bizkaia. We contribute to deliver and spreading it and its meant for the visitants to Bilbao, Bizkaia, and Basque Country in general with the intention to show our geography and to make known what we can find, see and taste in each place.

They are trips by taxi, they are for maximum 4 passengers and the driver. We leave from the Loiu airport and we indicate the estimated time to do them, the kilometres done and the fare.

El taxi de Bizkaia está a vuestro servicio y allá donde os encontréis tenéis un número de teléfono donde poder llamar.

En cada uno de los teléfonos ofrecemos: • servicio 24 horas • servicios de encargo: para quien necesite un taxi y quiera despreocuparse, puede solicitarlo con antelación. A la hora fijada su taxi le estará esperando a la puerta.

• Servicios de empresa: con atención en el momento que lo precisen sin previo aviso; concertados previamente; cobros con tarjeta o servicio de facturación.

• Servicios de mensajería y farmacia: si necesita recoger o entregar un paquete, contacte con nosotros, lo haremos por usted.

• Lagun taxi : vehículos de gran tamaño adaptados para pasajeros con discapacidades.

• Taxi turístico: Los taxistas somos las primeras personas con las que un viajero se encuentra al llegar a cualquier ciudad. Entre las actividades del taxista, se encuentra la de hacer de guía tanto en la ciudad como en los pueblos de la provincia. Así mismo y pensando en nuestros clientes, hacemos una relación de 16 destinos con sus precios, con la intención de que sean una referencia válida en sí mismos, o una idea aproximada en distancias equivalentes. Los recorridos han sido confeccionados tomando como referencia de origen el Aeropuerto de Loiu.

Estos precios corresponden a la tarifa laboral diurna: Tarifa 3: Lunes a viernes de 7h a 22 h.

Para la Tarifa 4, que corresponde a la nocturna y festiva, el precio de estos recorridos quedaría incrementado en un 10%.

Tarifa 4: Lunes a viernes: de 22h a 7h Sábados, Domingos y festivos.

Ibilbide iru proposatzen ditugu jarraian. Taxian egitekoak dira, gehienez 4 bidaiarirentzat, gidariaz gain. Loiuko aireportuan irtenda, gutxi gora behera, zenbat denboran egiten diren, zenbat kilometro dauden eta prezioa zein den zehaztuko dugu.

Bizkaiko taxia zuen zerbitzura dago eta zaudeten tokian egonda telefono zenbaki bat daukazue deitu ahal izateko.

Telefono zenbaki bakoitzean honakoa eskaintzen dugu: • 24 orduko zerbitzua • Agindutako zerbitzuak: taxi bat behar duenarentzat eta ardurarik ez izateko, aurretiaz eskatu daiteke. Taxia, esandako orduan izango duzu atean zain.

• Enpresa zerbitzuak: behar duzunean izango duzu aurretiaz deitu gabe;aurretiaz hitzartutakoak; kobrantzak txartelarekin edo fakturazio zerbitzua • Mezularitza eta farmazia zerbitzuak: pakete bat jaso edo entregatu behar baduzu, deitu egiguzu, zugatik egingo dugu.

• Lagun Taxi : tamainu handiko ibilgailuak dira, ezintasunak dituzten bidaiariak eramateko egokitutakoak.

• Taxi Turistikoa: taxi gidariak gara bidaiari batek edozein hirira heltzerakoan aurkitzen dituen lehenengo lagunak. Taxi gidariaren egin beharrekoen artean dago gidarena egitea bai hirian zein probintziako herrietan. Era berean, eta gure bezeroak kontuan hartuz, 16 helmuga eta euren prezioak azaltzen ditugu, erreferentzi onargarria izateko asmoagaz edo behintzat, bataz besteko ideia bat egiteko antzeko distantzietan. Loiuko aireportutik irteten diren ibilbideak hartu dira erreferentziatzat.

Hay poca luz, me pongo las gafas y efectivamente entre todos aquellos caracteres desconocidos, con una letra diminuta pude leer c/Lotería nº2.

Argi gutxi zegoen, betaurrekoak jarri eta, halaxe zen, karaktere ezezagun guzti horien artean, letra oso xehez, Loteria kalea 2, irakurri ahal izan nuen.

No hablamos en el trayecto del aeropuerto a la ciudad. Entrando en Bilbo a la altura del Ayuntamiento me pregunta en un castellano con acento oriental

Aireportutik hirirako ibilbidean ez genuen hitz egin. Bilbon sartuta, Udalaren parean, zera galdetu zidan gaztelaniaz, ekialdeko azentuz:

ESPÍRITU ATHLETIC El Jueves día 28 de Mayo a las 23h. recogí a un pasajero en la terminal de llegadas del aeropuerto de Loiu. Me entregó un impreso, como los que se imprimen de una Web y me dijo, que le llevara a la dirección que ponía en la hoja. Nunca mejor dicho que aquello era chino para mí, el impreso estaba escrito con unos caracteres imposibles de descifrar. Con una sonrisa le pregunté Where are you going? Señalando la hoja impresa que no entendía.

Me contesta que la calle del Hotel si viene, que mire bien.

Joan den ostegunean, maiatzaren 28an, bidaiari bat jaso nuen gaueko hamaiketan (23:00) Loiuko aireportuko etorreren terminalean. Inprimaki bat eman zidan, webgune batean inprimatzen direnen antzekoa, eta orri horretan adierazten zen helbidera eramateko eskatu zidan. Egiaz, hura txinera zen niretzat. Inprimakia deskodetzen ezinezkoak ziren karaktereekin zegoen idatzia. Irribarre batekin zera galdetu nion: Where are you going? Inprimaki-orria ulertzen ez nuela adieraziz.

Hotelaren kalea idatzita zegoela erantzun zidan, ongi begiratzeko.

At 11pm on Thursday May 28th, I picked a passenger up from the arrivals hall at Loiu airport. He handed me a printout, something that he’d printed off the internet, and asked me to take him to the address shown on the sheet.

The printout was written in characters that were totally undecipherable. It was literally all Chinese to me. Smiling, I asked him, “Where are you going?”, while pointing to the printout that I didn’t understand.

He responded, asking me to take him to the road which the hotel was on if possible, so I had a good look.

It was dark so I put my glasses on and there,

Sorprendido por la respuesta y dudando si era cierto lo que había oído, vuelvo a preguntarle Qué? de dónde ha dicho?

Con aplomo y total claridad repite; Yo Tokiotarra! Athletic, Copa Barcelona, continua.

Le pregunto que porqué viene a Bilbao y en un castellano básico mezclado con palabras en inglés me hace entender que viene a Bilbao para juntarse con una Peña del Athletic y viajar en Bus a Barcelona para asistir a la final de Copa.

Oírle hablar con ese acento nipón que a veces oímos en las películas, diciéndome que viene a compartir con gente de mi tierra una pasión que le ha hecho desplazarse desde el otro lado de nuestro planeta, me produce una emoción que recorre mi piel...

He asked me if I was going to the game, and I was ashamed to admit that I wasn’t. I replied that maybe I’d go to the San Mamés, if my wife wanted to.

We arrived at Plaza Unamuno, and from there I showed him how to get to calle Lotería.

He reached out his hand and we gave each other a brotherly hand shake while, bowing his head repeatedly, he said “Thank you” in Basque.

“Don’t mention it”, I replied, before adding “Welcome!”.

He handed me a card and, with another bow, turned and dragged his suitcase towards calle Lotería.

On the way back to the airport, I glanced at the card and, in my amazement, thought that the person I’d just dropped off was yet another pearl in this emotional treasure trove that is our Athletic.

For the third consecutive year Del 4 al 8 de marzo de 2015 se celebró en MESSE BERLIN, la 49 edición de la feria ITB BERLIN, el más importante punto de encuentro de la industria turística a nivel global. La feria ha batido records con 10.096 expositores de 186 países presentes, con un incremento en el número de visitantes profesionales hasta los 115.000.

El stand Bilbao-Bizkaia Be Basque Baskenland, impulsado por la Diputación Foral de Bizkaia y el Ayuntamiento de Bilbao fue galardonado con el premio “Best Exhibitor Awards”, que desde hace quince años reconoce el esfuerzo de los expositores de la feria turística ITB de Berlín En este marco ha tenido lugar la 14ª Exposición de Libros y Revistas de Viajes y Turismo, organizada por el Centro de Documentación Turística. Allí se ha podido ver una selección de las mejores publicaciones de viajes y turismo, estilo de vida, profesionales, económicas, etc., así como una extensa muestra de libros de turismo, gastronomía y patrimonio. From March 4th to March 8th 2015, MESSE BERLIN played host to the 49th edition of the ITB BERLIN convention, the world’s largest tourism trade fair. The fair broke all records with 10,096 exhibitors in attendance from 186 countries, while the number of professional visitors increased to 115,000.

The Bilbao-Bizkaia Be Basque Baskenland stand, promoted by the Bizkaia Regional Government and Bilbao City Council, received a “Best Exhibitor Award” which, for the last fifteen years, have recognised the efforts of the exhibitors at the ITB Berlin tourism fair.

Tras el gran éxito de la pasada edición, Red Bull Cliff Diving vuelve a elegir a Bilbao para celebrar la competición de saltadores de gran altura. En la edición anterior celebrada en Bilbao alrededor de 52.000 personas pudieron disfrutar de este espectáculo, en un marco incomparable con el museo Guggenheim de fondo.

En su séptima edición la prueba comienza en Cartagena (Colombia) pasando por Francia, EEUU, Copenague, Portugal, Bosnia – Herzegobina, Italia, y finalmente concluirá en Bilbao. El 26 de septiembre, el Puente de La Salve en Bilbao, además de convertirse en el trampolín de las últimas caídas libres del año y el lugar donde se realizará la entrega de trofeos del campeonato, también será sede de la 50ª competición de Red Bull Cliff Diving.

El acceso es libre y la entrada gratuita, así que se recomienda acudir con tiempo suficiente para coger buena ubicación.

Los mas afortunados lo pueden disfrutar desde el barco sintiendo de una manera mas cercana el sonido de los clavadistas al penetrar en el agua a unos 90 km por hora y tras haberse tirado de un trampolín de 28 metros de altura.

After the huge success of last year’s event, Red Bull Cliff Diving has once again chosen Bilbao as a venue for the high diving competition. Around 52,000 people enjoyed last year’s show held in Bilbao, in an idyllic setting with the Guggenheim Museum as its backdrop.

Now in its seventh edition, the event begins in Cartagena (Colombia) and visits France, the USA, Copenhagen, Portugal, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Italy before reaching its conclusion in Bilbao. On September 26th, Bilbao's La Salve Bridge will not only be the take-off strip for the last aesthetic freefalls of the year and the place where the championship trophies are lifted, but will also be the venue for the 50th Red Bull Cliff Diving competition.

The event is free and open to the public, so we recommend that you get there with enough time to find a good spot. The lucky ones can enjoy it from a boat, enabling them to experience first-hand the sound of the divers entering the water at around 90 km/h after jumping from a 28m high springboard.

Rough seas, cliffs, vast beaches, small coves, walks, picnic areas and playgrounds, ports, sailing trips, paragliding, restaurants, bars, ...and, in another era, pirates and whalers; the Basque coast offers all this and more. For those who prefer to explore by car, or even by Taxi, and discover new charming places, the Basque coast offers endless entertainment options and environmental enjoyment along its 80 km of coastline from Zierbena to Lekeitio.

It is very difficult to convey through pictures or words the feeling of freedom and nature that the breeze and the landscape of the Cantabrian Sea gives you, with the sound of the sea as your backdrop. You just have to experience it; even in bad weather, when the sea is rough, it has a special charm.

PRINCIPALES PLAYAS

Itsasoaren indarra, itsaslabarrak, hondartza handiak, kala txikiak, pasealekuak, askaldegiak eta aisialdi guneak, kaiak, bela-ibilaldiak, parapentea, jatetxeak edota tabernak; eta bestea garai batean pirata eta baleazaleen eremua, hori guztiori eskaintzen digu Bizkaiko kostaldeak. La bravura del mar, acantilados, grandes playas, pequeñas calas, paseos, merenderos y áreas de recreo, puertos, paseos a vela, parapente, restaurantes, bares, …y en otra época tiempo de piratas y balleneros, todo esto nos ofrece la costa vizcaína. Para los que nos gusta perdernos en coche, por que no en Taxi, y descubrir nuevos lugares con encanto, la costa vizcaína nos ofrece infinitas opciones de ocio y disfrute medioambiental en sus los 80 km de costa desde Zierbena hasta Lekeitio.

Es muy difícil transmitir mediante imágenes o palabras la sensación de libertad y naturaleza que ofrece la brisa y el paisaje del mar cantábrico con su sonido de fondo.

Hay que vivirlo, e incluso con mal tiempo, cuando la mar está brava, tiene un encanto especial.

puerto viejo hasta el puerto deportivo y para deportes acuáticos como el surf, wind surf y vela.

Arrigunaga (Algorta), buena extensión, vistas a los acantilados de La Galea y cuenta con el primer skate park del País Vasco.

Gorrondatxe-Azkorri (Andra Mari), tranquila, amplia y posible practica de surf.

Barinatxe o La Salvaje (Andra Mari).

Muy amplia, zona nudista, en la que se practica desde hace años a mediados de julio una carrera nudista. Práctica de surf y parapente.

Sopela: Barinatxe o “La Salvaje”. Compartida con Getxo. Práctica de surf y parapente Arriatera-Atxabiribil. Es una playa con fuerte oleaje, ideal para la práctica del surf.

Buen ambiente en los bares del entorno.

Meñakoz. Playa aislada, no urbanizada.

Posee un encanto especial. La práctica del nudismo es habitual. Excelente para la practica de snorkel, submarinismo y surf cuando hay olas grandes.

Barrika. Cuenta con dos playas “la Cantera” y “El acantilado”, esta última se puede practicar el surf. En marea alta el espacio de arena queda reducido. En ambas playas de Barrika se practica el nudismo.

Gorliz y Plentzia.

Preciosa y amplia bahía que comparten los municipios de Gorliz y Plentzia. En la zona de Plentzia se practica el surf.

Bakio. La más extensa de Bizkaia (1 km).

Práctica de surf y fenomenales vistas a Peña Roja Armintza Idónea para la pesca submarina Bermeo. Aritxatxu. Preciosa cala de reducidas dimensiones y accesibilidad complicada.

Mundaka. Sus playas asoman a la desembocadura de la ría. Afamada internacionalmente por tener la mejor ola del mundo (izquierda) para la practica del surf.

Laida. Ubicada en la Ría de Mundaka, cuenta con un arenal de casi 1 km de arena fina. Excelente para la práctica de Wind surf.

Laga: Uno de los arenales mas bonitos de Bizkaia, enclavada en la Reserva de la Biosfera de Urdaibai. Práctica del surf Lekeitio. Playas de Isuntza , Karraspio y Salvaje (las dos últimas pertenecientes al municipio de Mendexa) en marea baja se puede acceder a la isla de San Nicolás.

Armintza oso egokia urpeko arrantzan aritzeko Bermeo. Aritxatxu. Kala txiki bezain ederra, sarbide konplikatua duena.

Mundaka. Bertako hondartzak itsasadarraren bokalera hurbiltzen dira. Nazioartean oso ezaguna da, izan ere, surfean aritzeko munduko olatu onena dauka (ezker olatua).

Laida. Mundakako itsasadarrean kokatua dago eta hondar fineko hareatza luzea du, ia kilometro batekoa. Bikaina da Wind surfean aritzeko.

Laga: Bizkaiko hareatza ederrenetako bat da, Urdaibai Biosfera Erreserbaren barnean kokatua. Surferako egokia Lekeitio. Isuntza, Karraspio eta Salvaje hondartzak (azken biak Mendexako udalerriari dagozkio). Itsas beheran San Nikolas irlaraino irits daiteke.

Beautiful and spacious bay shared by the municipalities of Gorliz and Plentzia. The Plentzia area is good for surfing.

Bakio. The longest beach in Biscay (1 km). Surfing and great views of Peña Roja.

Armintza Ideal for spearfishing.

Bermeo. Aritxatxu. A beautiful little cove which is difficult to reach.

Mundaka. Its beaches overlook the mouth of the estuary. Internationally renowned for having the best wave in the world (left) for surfing.

Laida. Located in the Mundaka Estuary, the fine sand beach is almost 1 km long.

Excellent for windsurfing.

Una costa para todo el año Urte osorako kostaldea A coast for the whole year La asociación “Euskal Kostaldea Bizkaia Costa Vasca” se creó con la finalidad de aunar los esfuerzos en el ámbito del turismo de cada uno de sus miembros, y promocionar de modo conjunto la actividad turística en la costa de Bizkaia, complementando los recursos existentes en cada municipio con los de los municipios vecinos, creando de este modo un producto más valioso y atractivo. The “Euskal Kostaldea Bizkaia Costa Vasca” (Biscay Basque Coast) association was created in order to pool the efforts of each of its members in the area of tourism, and jointly promote tourist activity on the coast of Biscay, complementing the existing resources in each municipality with those of the neighbouring towns, thus creating a more valuable and attractive product. Portugalete, Noble Villa del Bilbao Metropolitano, fundada en 1322, y ubicada en la desembocadura de la Ría del Nervión; posee atractivos turísticos inigualables, en los que se conjugan la majestuosidad del Puente Bizkaia (también conocido como Puente Colgante) y declarado Patrimonio Mundial, con la sobriedad de la Basílica de Santa María, la Torre de los Salazar y su Casco Histórico Medieval. Etapa obligada de la Ruta del Norte del Camino de Santiago, y con un Paseo Marítimo en cuyo recorrido encontrará el visitante y turista de la Villa, entre otros, el Museo de la Industria “Rialia”, la antigua estación de ferrocarril La Canilla (que alberga la Oficina de Turismo), culminando con el Mareómetro y el Muelle de Hierro. Siguiendo costeando no encontramos con Sopela, cuna de la inmensa mayoría de surfistas vizcaínos. Sus playas y acantilados nos envolverán en un paisaje mágico, pero el centro del municipio tiene mucha vida.

Durante la temporada estival, se realizan visitas guiadas a los distintos recursos del municipio, destacando los acantilados y los restos del cinturón de hierro. Entre algunas de las actividades cabe destacar del 23 al 27 de septiembre se celebra por segundo año el Sopela Kosta Fest. El respeto a la naturaleza, el surf y la música son sus principales ingredientes.

Si visitamos Plentzia debemos pasear por su casco antiguo. El edificio del actual Museo (antiguo consistorio), la antigua torre del linaje Muxika y palacetes construidos por la burguesía a lo largo del siglo XIX, nos ofrecen una combinación arquitectónica que hace de la villa un lugar de gran atractivo. En Euskadi podemos presumir de muchos municipios, pero sólo en Mundaka encontraremos una de las mejores olas “de izquierdas” del mundo, sin duda la mejor de Europa. Desde la Atalaya podemos disfrutar de las espectaculares olas, en el centro de la villa y en sus alrededores encontraremos edificios de interés como la biblioteca municipal (antiguo hospital del Camino de Santiago), la parroquia de Santa María, de estilo renacentista, la Casa Consistorial y el palacio Larrinaga. Dando un pequeño paseo podemos visitar la ermita de Santa Catalina, desde ahí observaremos el espectacular

todas ellas visitables, conociendo así los orígenes de este pueblo, que además posee la playa más larga de Bizkaia. Saliendo de Bakio dirección Bermeo debemos hacer una parada en San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Según cuenta la tradición una vez de subir los 241 escalones hay que tocar tres veces la campana en la ermita para que se cumpla un deseo o ahuyentar los malos espíritus.

En Bermeo es cita obligada su Puerto Pesquero, el Museo del Pescador, el Ballenero Aita Guria (Centro de interpretación de la pesca de la ballena en el siglo XVII, cuya visita recomendamos que se haga mediante una visita guiada), los miradores hacía la Isla de Izaro y Cabo Matxitxako y pasear por su casco histórico observando esculturas de bermeanos como Nestor Basterretxea o Enrique Zubia.

In Atalaya you can enjoy spectacular waves; in the town centre and its surrounding areas you will find buildings of interest such as the municipal library (former hospital of the Camino de Santiago), the church of Saint Mary in its Renaissance style, the Town Hall and the Larrinaga palace. Taking a short walk you can visit the hermitage of Saint Catherine, from which you will be able to take in the spectacular landscape of the mouth of the Urdaibai estuary, in addition to the cape of Ogoño and the island of Izaro.

Conocer el Lagar de Txakolí más antigua que se conserva en Euskadi, visitar Marierrota, molino de marea y centro de interpretación de la biodiversidad del río Lea, declarado Lugar de Interés Comunitario y por supuesto el Faro de Santa Catalina que además de seguir en funcionamiento actualmente es un Centro de Interpretación de la Tecnología de la Navegación.

As a cultural destination, it has two museums: the Museum of the Peace, themed on the bombardment of Gernika, and the Museo Euskal Herria, an ethnographic museum. Enkarterri (Las Encartaciones, en castellano), la comarca más singular de Bizkaia, se aparece en el mapa como un brazo ostentoso que, partiendo desde Bilbao, se extiende hacia el oeste entre cumbres y valles. Fue durante siglos tierra de nobles e hidalgos, además de puesto aduanero. De aquellos días de gloria perviven su incomparable patrimonio histórico y una marcada personalidad. Es un destino obligado para los amantes de la cultura y la naturaleza.

Balmaseda, capital de la comarca y primera villa de Bizkaia (fundada en 1199), constituye un punto de partida inmejorable, a 30 kilómetros de Bilbao. Sus callejuelas medievales dibujan un recorrido repleto de iglesias, palacios barrocos y casas señoriales.

Son célebres el icónico Puente Viejo, del siglo XV, y el edificio que alberga el Ayuntamiento, conocido como ‘La mezquita’ por su gran pórtico de inspiración mudéjar: una joya sin igual en el norte de la Península.

Bolumburu, a beautiful recreation area on the banks of the Cadagua River, harks back to ancient times in this fertile settlement, rich in 'txakoli' vineyards.

Not far from here, in Sopuerta, stands the former Assembly House of Avellaneda, which has now been converted into a museum.

For centuries, this assembly was a symbol of Enkarterri’s political freedom and uniqueness. Encartaciones derives its name from the regional government 'charter' which allowed the locals to govern themselves: a privileged bastion between the coast and the hinterland, a crossroads and a melting pot.

These medieval institutions could not prevent the regions valleys from being dyed red with blood. The countless tower-houses that are dotted throughout the territory bore witness to internal fighting between rival fiefdoms. Such was their ferocity that the story of those factional battles has been passed down through the generations, until today.

The peace that brought an end to these battles gave way to a golden age. Churches, convents and palaces were built and, for the first time, leisure was taken into consideration, as evidenced by the small bullrings constructed alongside the temples to entertain the faithful after mass. It is

No muy lejos de aquí, en Sopuerta, se alza la antigua Casa de Juntas de Avellaneda, hoy reconvertida en museo. La asamblea fue durante siglos emblema de las libertades políticas y la singularidad de Enkarterri. De la ‘carta’ foral que permitía a los lugareños gobernarse a sí mismos deriva el nombre Encartaciones: bastión privilegiado entre la costa y el interior, encrucijada de caminos y crisol de culturas.

Las instituciones medievales no evitaron que la sangre tiñera de rojo los valles encartados.

Las innumerables casas-torre que pueblan el territorio fueron testigo de combates intestinos entre feudos rivales. Tal fue su ferocidad que el relato de aquellas luchas banderizas ha trascendido, generación tras generación, hasta nuestros días.

La paz que trajo el fin de las luchas dio paso a una época dorada. Se edificaron iglesias, conventos y palacetes y, por primera vez, se pensó en el ocio, como demuestran los pequeños cosos taurinos construidos junto a los templos para amenizar las romerías

PESO NETO Tenemos nuevo vecino en el barrio con más solera de Bilbo, Bilbao la Vieja. El bar restaurante Peso Neto ha escogido un emplazamiento con mucha historia para abrir sus puertas en la esquina de la calle San Francisco nº1 frente a la Plaza de los Tres Pilares. Detrás de sus grandes ventanales encontrarás un acogedor local cargado de experiencia del pasado pero con una moderna renovación estética. La luz proveniente de las originales lámparas, elaboradas por los dueños del local a partir de ventanas y frascos de cristal, alumbran una velada especial.

En sus fuegos se preparan viandas clásicas pero renovadas, cocina alcahueta la llaman: txipirones a la plancha, albóndigas de carne de angus, antxoas rebozadas en panko, carrilleras de ternera en salsa de choko-café o el postre que se está convirtiendo en el clásico de la zona: ganache de chocolate belga. En la terraza, mientras escuchas anécdotas de los viejos y nuevos vecinos del barrio, puedes beber un buen vino o una cerveza acompañándola de un rico picoteo: la tabla wachiporonga (surtido de ibéricos, encurtidos y pescados marinados caseros), croquetas caseras de langostinos o los sabrosos minipulpitos. ¿Cócteles?, también. ¿Buen ambiente?, eso está asegurado. ¿Sorpresas?, muchas.

We’ve got a new neighbour in Bilbao’s most traditional neighbourhood, Bilbao la Vieja.

The Peso Neto restaurant and bar has opted to open its doors in a historical location on the corner of Calle San Francisco No. 1, opposite the Plaza de los Tres Pilares. Behind its large windows, you’ll discover a welcoming setting laden with past experiences but with a modern makeover. The light from the unique lamps, made out of windows and glass jars by the owners of the premises, illuminates a special evening.

The restaurant prepares classic dishes with a twist, known as “cocina alcahueta” (matchmaker’s cuisine, ideal for a romantic meal for two): grilled baby squid, Angus meatballs, panko-breaded anchovies, veal cheeks in choco-coffee sauce and the dessert that’s well on the way to becoming a classic: Belgian chocolate ganache. While you’re sat on the terrace listening to tales told by new and old arrivals to the neighbourhood, you can enjoy a fine wine or a beer accompanied by a delicious snack: the “wachiporonga” platter (an assortment of homemade Ibérico hams, pickles and marinated fish), homemade prawn croquettes or tasty octopus.

Tras la huella del buda dorado Buda urrekararen lorratzaren xerka On the trail of the Golden Buddha

Tras visitar las fabulosas islas del Golfo de Tailandia, Ko Tao, KoPhaNgan y KoSamui, llegué a la cercana costa de Surat Thani, donde sus famosos delfines rosas me acompañaban cuando paseaba por la arena.

Tailandiako Golkoko irla itzelak bisitatu ondotik (Ko Tao, KoPhaNgan eta KoSamui), handik hurbil, Surat Thani kostaldera iritsi nintzen.

Bertan, izurde arrosa ezagunak bidelagun izaten nituen hondarretan paseatzen nuenean.

Tras unos días descubriendo Bangkok, desde el precioso hotel Anantara Siam, me dirijo al norte, a Khao Yai, un Parque Nacional donde habita el tigre y otras muchas especies. Un lugar fresco y alto donde está la bodega PBValley (¡Como La Rioja, en Tailandia!). Así, entre copas, comento mi viaje tras las huellas de Buda…y como en Tailandia diríase que todo es un milagro, de inmediato me dirigen al cercano templo de Wat Phra Putthabat.

Erraza zen Nire hotela, Aava Resort, kokapen sinesgaitzean zegoen, Nadameko hondartzan bertan, ederra eta handia zinez, bederatzi kilometrokoa. Hondarretan sekulako gozamena zen sareak baliatuz arrainak ateratzen zituzten arrantzaleak ikustea, eguzkipean dir-dir eginez, labanak bailiran. Kostalde horretan Budaren erlikiak hondoratu zirela aipatu zidaten, eta Wat Phra Mahathat tenplu ederra ezagutu behar nuela derrigorrez, bertan gordetzen baitira. Harantz abiatu nintzen, zeru urdinaren azpian segizio batek bira ematen zuelarik, tenplua oihal laranja amaigabe batekin inguratuz... Eta leku magikoak ezagutzen jarraitu nuen Buda Urrekararen xerka. Bangkok ezagutuz egun batzuk igaro ostean, Anantara Siam hotel itzeletik iparralderantz abiatu nintzen, Khao Yai izeneko Parke Nazionalera, non tigreak eta beste espezie asko bizi diren. Leku fresko eta altu horretan dago PBValley upategia (Errioxa bezala, baina Tailandian!). Horrela, zurrutadaz zurrutada, Budaren aztarnen atzetik egindako bidaia ari naiz kontatzen... eta Tailandian guztia miraria dela esan daitekeenez, berehala Wat Phra Putthabat izeneko tenplura bideratu ninduten. Bisita egin eta han dago Buda urrekararen arrastoa, itzela...

Era sencillo…Mi hotel, el Aava Resort, estaba increíblemente situado en la misma playa de Nadam, bella e inmensa, de nueve kilómetros. En la misma arena, disfrutaba de ver a los pescadores sacar con sus redes los peces brillando al sol como navajas.

Me contaron que en esas costas habían naufragado las reliquias de Buda, y que debía conocer el precioso templo Wat Phra Mahathat que las albergaba. Allí me dirigí cuando bajo el cielo azul, una procesión giraba envolviendo el templo con un paño naranja infinito…Y seguí conociendo lugares mágicos tras los pasos del Buda Dorado.

After visiting the wonderful islands of the Gulf of Thailand, Ko Tao, KoPhaNgan and KoSamui, I arrived on the nearby coast of Surat Thani, where its famous pink dolphins accompanied me as I strolled along the sand.

It was simple... My hotel, the Aava Resort, was spectacularly located right on the beach of Nadam, beautiful and vast, with its nine kilometres. On the sand, I was enjoying watching the fishermen pull in their nets with the fish shining in the sun like razor blades.

They told me that the relics of Buddha sank on these coasts and that I should experience the beautiful Wat Phra Mahathat temple that houses them. I went there when, under the blue sky, a procession enveloped the temple with an infinite orange cloak... And I kept on experiencing magical places following the steps of the Golden Buddha.

After a few days discovering Bagkok, from the beautiful Anatara Siam hotel, I headed north, to Khao Yai, a national park with a tiger and many other species. A fresh place, high up, where the PBValley winery is located (like La Rioja, in Thailand!). Thus, between drinks, I write about my trip following in the footprints of Buddha... and as it would seem that in Thailand everything is a miracle, they immediately directed me to the nearby temple of Wat Phra Putthabat.

Mi viaje empezó buscando playas en sus islas y Tailandia se apodera de mí. Así que no puedo evitar continuar al Norte, al Templo Doi Suthep en ChiangMai. El elefante blanco que llevaba las reliquias de Buda paró allí. Con la disculpa, yo también, y conozco ChiangMai, me rindo a su belleza, y fascinación…y no me olvido hacer mi ofrenda pidiendo volver al fantástico país del Buda dorado y el elefante blanco.

Txunditurik geratu nintzen bere edertasunarekin, harrituta... eta ez nuen ahaztu nire ofrenda egitea, Buda urrekara eta elefante zuriaren herrialde zoragarrira itzultzeko eskatuz.

So I could avoid continuing to the north, to the Doi Suthep Temple in ChiangMai. The white elephant that carried the relics of Buddha stopped there. With the excuse, I did the same, and I experienced ChiangMai; I surrendered to its beauty and fascination... and I did not forget to make my offering, asking to return to the fantastic country of golden Buddha and the white elephant.

Este nuevo servicio de central de reservas pretende canalizar la demanda hotelera generada en los puntos de información turística, además de la promoción de Bilbao y sus alojamientos.
