Water Sports LLC has inked an all-inclusive licensing agreement with Diggin Active with the option and goal of acquiring the company. The strategic addition of Diggin Active brings Water Sports LLC the final product mix needed to move from a seasonal vendor to a year-round resource. The family of brands now includes toys and products for indoor and outdoor play in most every venue. Comprehensively, they include inside toys, pool, beach, tailgating, amphibious products and sporting goods.

Knowles Development Kit Brings Voice Control to Smart Home Appliances

Knowles Corp. recently announced the release of its AISonic White Goods Standard Solution, which allows for fast and easy voice recognition in smart home appliances.

The development kit enables building voice-activated control and far-field speech recognition capabilities into smart appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, washers and dryers for clothes, vacuums and dishwashers.

Samsung uses the Knowles White Goods Standard Solution in its FamilyHub for smart appliances.

Knowles provides advanced micro-acoustic microphones and speakers, audio processing and precision device solutions worldwide.

The White Goods Standard Solution lets consumers talk to the service of their choice, securely, simply by saying its name. That allows the Solution entrance into a broader ecosystem of smart appliance devices, which fosters greater product development freedom and innovation, according to Knowles.

Voice control is a driver in the growing smart appliance market. According to research by SAR Insight, more than 66 million voice processors for smart appliances are expected to ship by 2024.

“As the smart home appliance market matures and continues to expand, support for voice interfaces is expected to become a highly requested feature that consumers look for in new appliances,” said Vikram Shrivastava, senior director of IoT marketing at Knowles. “The ability to ask your refrigerator to read aloud your grocery inventory, play a recipe video while cooking, or ask your oven to preheat while you prepare dinner, all contribute to the user experience.”

Kinetic Recovery Rope & Adjustable Bungey Cord from Erickson One of the most exciting introductions from Erickson Manufacturing is the lineup of Kinetic Recovery ropes. Erickson has introduced several sizes that range from ½-inch thick with a 7,260 pound capacity to 2 inches thick with a 103,960 pound capacity. These ropes are made from 100 percent nylon, which allows them to stretch up to 28 percent of their original length. This is where the kinetic energy comes from. As you pull on the rope, it will stretch and use that built up energy to create a sling shot effect and pull your stuck vehicle out.

To finish it off, Erickson has coated the entire rope in polyurethane to

increase its abrasion and cut resistance.
