Val Verde USD Students Demonstrate Presentation Skills at CUE 2019
Students from Val Verde Unified School District (USD) visited the HoverCam booth at CUE 2019 and demonstrated their presentation skills for attendees. The school district recently outfitted some of its elementary school classrooms with the Pilot 3 podiums as well as HoverCam’s CenterStage interactive flat panels (IFPs). “HoverCam solutions have been essential to the workflow in our classrooms and have introduced a new level of engagement. Our teachers feel in touch with advanced technology while our students are excited to be learning,” said Michael McCormick, Superintendent at Val Verde USD. “Touring the conference floor granted us a great opportunity to visit HoverCam again and have our students show off everything they’ve learned with the help of their incredible technology.” To the delight of attendees and the HoverCam team, the elementary school students

At last year’s ISTE conference, “Tech & Learning” recognized our UKIT curricula and the Yanshee robot as two of the event’s most outstanding Ed Tech products. We were excited to gain this recognition, and we’re more thrilled than ever to participate in this ISTE 2019, because we’ve been up to quite a bit!
1. UKITs are reshaping STEM classrooms. UKITs combine modular robotics construction with engaging, hands-on STEM+C curriculum. They’re different from other supplemental STEM solutions because they offer both high-quality modular builds and expert-authored curriculum that supports teachers and students alike. We’re particularly excited about our work with the Center for Educational Innovation (CEI) as part of Project BOOST, a multi-faceted school-based program for

Trinseo Provides Plastics for Smart Outlet
Trinseo plastics are intrinsic to the products we use in our lives every day. One of these products is the new smart outlet from Currant, a California-based startup that creates smart home products designed to give consumers control over their homes – and their energy consumption. Currant introduced the Currant Smart Outlet, the first outlet on the market powered by artificial intelligence (AI), in November 2018. Consumers simply plug their home devices or appliances into it and, with a special app, receive a breakdown of their power usage in real time as well as personalized, easy-to-implement suggestions on controlling their energy expenses.
