I could hardly believe it when I found out that I’d won, but once it sank in, I was absolutely thrilled and so honored! Normally, I travel to Florida once or twice a year to visit family, but thanks to my amazing win, I can now fly my family to me!
I’ve already used some of my points to book a flight for my sister, so she can spend time with my kids while my husband and I enjoy a getaway. I’ve even booked flights for my kids, too! What I love most, though, is earning and redeeming points and I can’t wait to keep it going!

Known for its mix of natural wonders and artful treasures in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina, is eager to welcome guests back this spring after weathering Hurricane Helene.
“Asheville’s revival since the devastating impacts of Helene in late September last year is a powerful testament to the resilience and creativity of our community,” said Vic Isley, president and CEO of Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. “This year, guests have the inspiring opportunity to not only experience the soul of this extraordinary place, but to also play a role in its comeback. Whether trying your hand at a new craft led by a master artisan, digging into alluring Appalachian food and music culture, or taking a peaceful hike on a forested trail, Asheville’s people and places offer up connection, renewal and enduring beauty.”
While businesses in downtown Asheville were largely untouched by the storm, other businesses in more high-impact areas have recently re-opened, showcasing that Appalachian resilience Asheville has become known for. Several new businesses continue to open as well, giving repeat visitors something new to experience.
For those looking for a little relaxation and rejuvenation, Asheville is known for its vibrant wellness culture. In 2022, The Ayurvedic Institute actually relocated its headquarters from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Asheville due to the believed healing properties of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The institute now has three Asheville properties that offer Ayurvedic practices based on the ancient science of self-healing: the AyurPrana Listening Room, which hosts vibrational music experiences from the world’s most renowned kirtan musicians within the walls of a former church; the Asheville Yoga Center; and the SoHum Mountain Healing Resort, which will open a luxurious Ayurvedic day spa this spring for the public to enjoy. ayurveda.com
Visitors can also slow down and recharge while soaking in the natural beauty of Western North Carolina at Asheville’s only wood-fired sauna and cold plunge experience, Drip Sauna. Nestled above the French Broad River, the newly opened wellness experience mixes the ancient traditions of sauna and cold plunge therapy with nature. Guests can attend community sessions, special events or book a private session to enjoy its handcrafted barrel saunas — each fueled by locally sourced wood — cold plunges and

Although some outdoor attractions in Asheville, including parts of the scenic 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway through the Appalachian Highlands, remain temporarily closed due to fallen trees, many recreational attractions are open to guests — like Asheville’s Black Cultural Heritage Trail. Taking pedestrians through three areas of Asheville (downtown, South Slope and the River Arts District), the informative trail takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to walk and read. Guests will learn how Black people from all backgrounds built resilient communities and fostered social change in Asheville and can soon admire three new large-scale art installations that will help increase the trail’s visibility. bcht.exploreasheville.com
Art collector George Vanderbilt’s beautiful country home, Biltmore, is welcoming guests as well, and will be celebrating a two-year redesign of all of the guest rooms and corridors at The Inn on Biltmore Estate this spring. Springtime marks the perfect time to visit one of the Southeast’s most

popular attractions, as not only will guests be able to celebrate “Spring at Biltmore” with the stunning transformation of the estate’s gardens from March 21 through May 22, but March 21 also marks the premiere of “Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures” at the estate’s exhibition center, Amherst at Deerpark. Running through Jan. 4, 2026, the exhibition invites guests to learn more about the ancient culture of Egypt as they step back in time to the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922. biltmore.com
March will also welcome a new art studio and exhibition space to the former Moog Music building in downtown Asheville: Resurrection Studios Collective. Opening on March 7 with an exhibition focused on Hurricane Heleneinspired art, Resurrection Studios Collective plans to house approximately 50 working artists of various mediums. A local artist will also be highlighted in its storefront space, with March and April featuring the works of artist/ filmmaker Kira Bursky. resurrectionavl.com
Adjacent to Resurrection Studios Collective, shoppers will find Atomic Furnishing & Design. An Asheville favorite since 2014, the store is known for sourcing and selling mid-century
furniture that’s been restored to its original beauty. Its new location opened on Broadway Street last December after its old location along Swannanoa River was flooded by Hurricane Helene. Although the new location is smaller, more than 35 vendors are featured in the 7,500-square-foot space, selling everything from vintage records and clothing to plants and art. atomicfurnishings.com
Second Gear, Asheville’s premier outdoor adventure gear retail and consignment shop, is also eager to welcome guests to its new location in West Asheville after its previous location in the River Arts District was destroyed by the flooding from Hurricane Helene. A recreation lover’s dream since 2004, Second Gear offers apparel, footwear and outdoor gear from such high-quality brands as Patagonia and KÜHL at an affordable price, so visitors can explore the great outdoors in Asheville without breaking the bank. secondgearwnc.com
Asheville’s drinking and dining scene continues to thrive as well, with several unique offerings ready to greet guests. At Outsider Brewing, visitors can see how they make the brewery’s broad range of beers

thanks to a custom-made transparent brewing system. Patrons can take in 360-degree views of the entire brewing process while savoring one of 10 rotating beers on tap. outsiderbrewing.beer
For those who prefer wine, Potential New Boyfriend opened in December, serving an expertly curated selection of wine and vermouth that guests can pair with an assortment of housemade desserts and small plates. Guests can savor their selections in a cozy, living room-like setting while listening to vinyl records on a state-of-theart hi-fi system. potentialnewbf.com
For something heartier, Luminosa opened at the historic Flat Iron Hotel last year, serving woodfired Italian cuisine blended with bold Appalachian flavors. The dinner menu features a variety of dishes that celebrate the region, like the tasty Agnolotti pasta made with ham hock, creamer peas, cornbread crumbs and Parmesan. luminosaavl.com
Several events will be held in Asheville this spring, too, including the return of the Asheville Amadeus Festival. Originally formed in 2015 as a celebration of the life and work of Mozart, the festival now brings together some of Asheville’s most talented musicians, artists, creators and entertainers every other year for 11 days of performances, education programs, collaborations and social events. This year’s festival will take place April 30 through May 10, and will feature co-headliners mandolinist/singer Chris Thile and genre-bending ensemble Time for Three. ashevillesymphony.org/asheville-amadeus

While Cinco de Mayo is always a great reason to treat your taste buds to some tasty Mexican fare, Las Vegas’ mouthwatering Mexican restaurants know how to throw a party for your palate all year long.
A Strip staple since 1999, this two-story restaurant at Mandalay Bay offers a fresh take on modern Mexican cuisine from celebrity chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken (Food Network’s “Too Hot Tamales”). Guests can savor an array of flavorful dishes for lunch and dinner, like the popular Chicken Poblano Enchiladas made with roasted chicken, Mexican cheeses, poblano chiles, grilled corn, pickled mushrooms and poblano cream, and the dinner-exclusive Smoked Prime Rib Tacos made with Manchego cheese grits, serrano chiles, crispy garlic and avocado balm. Brunch is also served on Saturday and Sunday featuring unlimited small plates for one price. bordergrill.com
Las Vegas Mexican restaurants that will leave taste buds shouting ‘Olé!’
By Heather Turk
Undoubtedly the Strip’s most unique Mexican restaurant, this innovative concept from famed chef José Andrés lets guests enjoy the bold flavors of Mexico and China for lunch and dinner. Located inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the eatery serves fare from both countries, so diners can relish such delectable dishes as the mole poblano Carne Asada and the Golden Pearls steamed vegetable dumplings side by side. For more
adventurous eaters, there’s even a MexicanChinese taco on the menu — the Viva China — made with crispy beef tendon, Szechuansoy sauce, green onions and a raw oyster. chinapoblano.com
Celebrating its 15th anniversary in March, this reimagined Mexican restaurant at Fashion Show Las Vegas offers guests even more to love thanks to a recent remodel and a menu update that reflects the vibrant spirit of the coastal Mexican town Tulum. While guests can still enjoy favorites like the fresh-made guacamole and the Skirt Steak Fajitas, they can also now savor such impeccable menu additions as the
Charred Octopus appetizer served with potatoes, chimichurri and garlic aioli. If the weather is nice, ask to be seated on the lush patio — it’s a great people-watching spot! elsegundosol.com
Since moving to Las Vegas, it was only a matter of time before actor Mark Wahlberg brought his California cantina to town. Located just off the Strip at Town Square Las Vegas, this stylish new restaurant treats palates to an assortment of Mexican classics with a contemporary twist for lunch and dinner. Whether guests order the Chile Relleno that can be served with carne asada, shrimp or achiote tequila chicken or the lobster Seafood Enchiladas, nothing on the menu disappoints. A Sunday Brunch Buffet is available, too, though portions are generous enough on the regular menu that no one ever leaves hungry. The dining scene in Las Vegas continues to impress even the most discerning foodie with several diverse restaurant additions that are all remarkable in their own way.
This two-story, 22,500-square-foot venue at 63 CityCenter marks the fourth location of the “My Kinda Party” country singer’s namesake restaurant and bar. Boasting two music stages and six bars, Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar serves a menu of Southern comfort fare for lunch and dinner — with some recipes coming straight from the Aldean family cookbook. Guests can listen to live music daily while savoring such delicious dishes as the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip and the fork-tender Grandma’s Pot Roast. When it’s time for dessert, no meal is complete without Mama Aldean’s Peach Cobbler. jasonaldeansbar.com/las-vegas
PINKY’S
Lisa Vanderpump’s third restaurant and cocktail bar on the Strip is arguably her best one yet. Located inside Flamingo Las Vegas, Pinky’s by Vanderpump is a glamorous Art Deco establishment offering an assortment of Instagrammable cocktails and shareable small plates nightly and for Saturday/Sunday brunch. Highlights include the Macadamia Dusted Chicken Tenders and the Pinky’s Baked Alaska. For a perfect pairing, try the Goat Cheese Balls served with a tasty
strawberry and hot honey sauce with the It’s Hot, Honey honey jalapeño margarita. caesars.com/flamingo-las-vegas/restaurants/ pinkys-by-vanderpump
ZIO’S
The secret is getting out on this contemporary Italian steakhouse located near the Las Vegas Convention Center. Although the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, Zio’s dinner service is when the kitchen truly shines. In addition to a variety of succulent steaks, guests can relish several impeccable pastas, including a 20 Layer Lasagna Bolognese that takes two days to achieve the perfect height and consistency. The Pappardelle with Short Rib Ragù is also phenomenal, made with short rib cooked low and slow for four to five hours. zioslv.com

Carrie Underwood will conclude her reign as Resorts World Las Vegas’ first and longest-running headliner in April
By Heather Turk
It doesn’t matter if you like rap, rock or country music, there is a headliner for every music taste performing in Las Vegas this spring.
Time is actually running out to see two of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s most acclaimed country music residencies. Last October, “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood announced the final performances of “REFLECTION: The Las
Vegas Residency” at Resorts World Las Vegas. Featuring 20 of Underwood’s greatest hits, including nine No. 1 songs like “Before He Cheats” and “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “REFLECTION” has been one of Las Vegas’ best residencies since it premiered in December 2021. The show’s final nine performances will take place Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, March 26 through April 12, so be sure to see the stunning production while you still can. axs.com/carrieinvegas
“Garth Brooks/Plus ONE” will conclude its run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in March after debuting at the venue in May 2023
Country music superstar Garth Brooks will also be wrapping up his Las Vegas residency, “Garth Brooks/Plus ONE,” inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Friday through Sunday, March 1 through 9. With varying instrumentation and the occasional special guest, the show promises fans of the “Friends in Low Places” singer a once-in-alifetime concert experience each and every night. Once Brooks leaves The Colosseum stage, the venue will welcome back longtime headliner Rod Stewart for “The Encore Shows” Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, March 12 through 22, and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, May 29 through June 8. Featuring the raspy-voiced “Maggie May” singer’s greatest hits as well as deep cuts, stunning new production elements and a few surprises, the show follows 200 performances of the rock icon’s remarkable 13-year residency at the venue, “Rod Stewart: The Hits.” caesars.com/shows
The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will also welcome Josh Groban to its stage Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, May 9 through 17, for an exclusive engagement — “Josh Groban: Gems.” One of the most instantly recognizable voices in music, the “You Raise Me Up” singer is sure to put on a concert experience that’s not to be missed. ticketmaster.com/joshgrobanvegas

the Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar. First, “M5LV The Residency” returns Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, March 7 through 22. An extension of Hagar’s 2024 summer tour, the residency will feature an only-in-Vegas setlist that showcases the “I Can’t Drive 55” rocker’s career-spanning hits — from seminal breakouts with Montrose and his solo singles to a deep dive into his tenure with Van Halen, Chickenfoot and everything in between. parkmgm.mgmresorts. com/en/entertainment/dolby-live.html
Rapper Pitbull will continue his new Las Vegas residency as well inside Fontainebleau Las Vegas’ BleauLive Theater. With all these must-see music acts and so many others performing in the Entertainment Capital of the World this spring, it is no wonder Las Vegas has become a mecca for concertgoers in recent years.
Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow (“Copacabana”) recently signed a lifetime extension to continue performing his long-running residency “MANILOW: LAS VEGAS — The Hits Come Home!” select Thursdays through Saturdays at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
Piff the Magic Dragon’s new canine costar has some pretty big paws to fill
By Heather Turk
Piff said the thing he misses the most about Mr. Piffles is the companionship — “He was by my side almost 24/7”
Last November, the Entertainment Capital of the World lost one of its most beloved stars: Piff the Magic Dragon’s adorable chihuahua, Mr. Piffles. While the loss of the Flamingo Las Vegas headliner’s costar was immeasurable, as they say in show business, the show must go on.
Piff had been trying to find a backup for the world’s first magic-performing chihuahua since 2016, but wasn’t having any luck. The first chihuahua he rescued had too much anxiety onstage, and the second chihuahua grew to be three times the size of Mr. Piffles and wouldn’t fit in any of the props. So, he decided to clone Mr. Piffles.
“I knew we couldn’t keep getting dogs, trying them out and then adopting them,” Piff, whose real name is John van der Put, said. “So, I’d read there were these bomb-sniffing dogs in Korea and they cloned a bunch of them. Usually, they have a 10-percent success rate of training them, and with these clones they were getting like 90 percent.”
The gamble paid off. Fourtune (named after the fact he’s Piff’s fourth dog and “cost a fortune”) now carries on Mr. Piffles’ legacy as “Mr. Piffles 2.0.” While Piff said he’s working on some new tricks with Fourtune that he hopes to debut soon, he has brought back some older material that Mr. Piffles used to do when “he was more interested in doing tricks for snacks” versus just falling asleep onstage to the audience’s amusement. Although Fourtune may be the new star of the show, Piff still pays tribute to Mr. Piffles with a memorial video before each performance.
“I had Mr. Piffles for 15 years and we did thousands of shows together,” Piff said. “We created this whole thing, so to be able to keep that going is really great.” piffthemagicdragon.com
For the first time in 32 years, the biggest event in professional wrestling returns to the Entertainment Capital of the World. Often referred to as the Super Bowl of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), WrestleMania will be held at the same venue that fittingly held Super Bowl LVIII last year — Allegiant Stadium. Taking place on April 19 and 20, the two-night event will feature some of WWE’s top Superstars, each living out their

dream of competing on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
“If you’re in the Entertainment Capital of the World and it’s WrestleMania week, the most entertaining thing that’s happening in Las Vegas is WrestleMania,” said one of WWE’s most decorated Superstars, Bianca Belair. “If you’re not familiar with WWE, just think about your favorite sporting event mixed with your favorite action-packed Marvel movie, mixed in with a fashion show and drama. It’s the best gear, the best storylines, the best entrances, the best feuds — it’s the best of everything.”
Bianca Belair told nonstoplife that she always flies Allegiant when she visits her family in Knoxville, Tennessee, as it is the only airline that offers direct flights from where she lives.
Belair is known as the “EST” of WWE, which among other superlatives means she’s the strongest, the toughest and the greatest
While the matches for WrestleMania 41 were still being finalized when nonstoplife spoke to Belair, it had been announced that the event would mark the final WrestleMania appearance of WWE Superstar-turned-actor John Cena. Belair actually shared a special moment with the 16-time world champion at Allegiant Stadium in 2021 after losing the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch at SummerSlam.
“I lost the match in 26 seconds and it was very tough for me mentally,” Belair recalled. “I was a little embarrassed and trying to grasp what had just happened, and he pulled me aside backstage and gave me some encouraging words that I feel are going to
stick with me for the rest of my career. He’s always elevating people, and I think that’s just amazing.”
Belair knows what it is like to inspire others, having made history at WrestleMania 37 when she was one of the first two Black women to ever main event WrestleMania. That moment won Belair an ESPY Award for Best WWE Moment and truly jumpstarted her career as a multi-titleholder in WWE.
“While WrestleMania 37 is definitely one of the moments I’m most proud of, I’m even more proud of the moments that came afterward because I feel like I’ve grown so much,” Belair stated. “It’s things like meet and greets, when people say ‘I applied for that job’ or ‘I went back to school because I want to be the best version of myself,’ it’s those moments that let me know that I’m having a great impact on others.”
In addition to WrestleMania 41, WWE will bring several other events to Las Vegas in April, including the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. For up-to-date details, visit WWE’s official website. wwe.com

The attractions at The STRAT offer an adrenaline rush unlike any other
By Heather Turk
Next to risking your life savings on the casino floor, nothing will make your heart race faster in Las Vegas than the trio of thrilling attractions found atop The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower.
Since April 29, 1996, more than 10 million riders have braved The STRAT’s original thrill ride, Big Shot. Reaching speeds of 45 miles per hour, Big Shot catapults riders from a 921-foot-high platform up The STRAT Tower’s mast to a height of 1,081 feet and down again. On Halloween 2003, The STRAT welcomed another thrill ride: X-Scream. Hovering 866 feet above the ground, the teeter-totter-like attraction propels riders headfirst 27 feet over the edge of The STRAT Tower before pulling them back — only to propel riders headfirst over the edge again! Finally, on April 20, 2010, The STRAT took its biggest leap yet with thrill seekers when it opened SkyJump, the world’s highest commercial decelerator descent facility. SkyJumpers will leap off a platform located 855 feet above the Strip, reaching speeds of more than 40 miles per hour as they zoom toward a landing pad 829 feet below.
“At The STRAT, our thrill rides offer more than just an adrenaline rush — they create unforgettable memories high above the iconic Las Vegas skyline,” said The STRAT’s senior vice president and general manager, Skylar Dice. “From the heart-pounding freefall of SkyJump to the towering launch of Big Shot and the thrilling plunge
of X-Scream, our rides elevate the Vegas experience to new heights. It’s a one-of-akind adventure that embodies the excitement and energy of the city, giving visitors a breathtaking perspective on the Strip that they won’t find anywhere else.”
All three attractions are open daily, weather permitting, with various ticket options available. Whether guests brave one attraction or all three, each experience is a real scream. thestrat.com/attractions

While a lot of tourists may think of Las Vegas as easily walkable, the number of neighborhoods that boast the same easy access to food, drink and entertainment that the Strip has are few and far between. That’s what makes UnCommons, a new live and work development near the new Durango Casino, so unique.
UnCommons was created with a closeness to community in mind. At its completion, UnCommons will give over 830 residents

access to a walkable 40-acre campus right outside their front door with new and exciting restaurants, stores and even community spaces.
At UnCommons’ 5,000 square foot conference space and event pavilion, businesses and residents alike can take advantage of high speed internet, built-in tv monitors and on-site catering for meetings, conferences, events and even a yoga class or two.
World class restaurants and eateries are a quick walk away for the residents of UnCommons, but that doesn’t mean they’re the only people who have access. Anyone in Las Vegas can park on the campus and enjoy trend-setting eateries and restaurants like All’Antico Vinaio, the legendary Florentine sandwich shop that has gone viral on more than one occasion for their authentic Italian offerings.
Other dining options include cafes, renowned ice cream parlor, Salt & Straw and two steak houses. All are neighbored by salons, gyms and a tattoo parlor with even more retail options opening every day.
The whole complex is designed like a 15-minute city, an urban planning concept where all daily necessities can be reached within a 15 minute walk, bike or public transit ride. By prioritizing housing density, and creating safe walkable streets, UnCommons actually lessens residents’ dependence on cars and creates a stronger local community. It’s a concept that many in Las Vegas hope will not always be so uncommon. uncommons.com

‘MJ LIVE’ moonwalks on over to a new Strip resort
By Heather Turk
Following successful runs at various properties since its premiere in Las Vegas in 2012, the world’s No. 1 Michael Jackson tribute show has found a new home on the Strip.
Last November, “MJ LIVE” moonwalked on over to Harrah’s Las Vegas for a new multiyear residency. Featuring a live three-piece band, eight backup dancers, countless costumes and eye-catching new graphics that play on three massive screens located onstage, the production stars two award-winning rotating Michael Jackson impersonators performing some of the King of Pop’s greatest hits. Whether audiences are watching Jalles Franca or Santana Jackson perform, they’ll be so impressed by the talented tribute artist’s spoton performance that they’ll almost forget they aren’t watching the real Michael Jackson on stage singing and dancing.
Throughout the fast-paced show, audiences will hear more than a dozen of Jackson’s greatest hits and watch as some of his most iconic music video moments are brought back to life — including the dance sequences from “Smooth Criminal,” “Thriller” and “Beat It.” There’s also a fun Jackson 5 segment that features a medley of classics like “One More Chance” and “ABC,” making “MJ LIVE” a truly comprehensive Michael Jackson tribute concert experience.
“Michael Jackson has the largest fanbase in the world,” said Dick Feeney, co-producer of “MJ LIVE.” “His music transcends any language or age barrier, and audiences from all over the world love to sing and dance along with the show. We are very excited to partner
Jalles Franca, one of the two rotating Michael Jackson impersonators who star in “MJ LIVE”
with Caesars Entertainment for a multiyear residency for ‘MJ LIVE’ at Harrah’s Las Vegas, and look forward to sharing the talent of the No. 1 Michael Jackson tribute show with new audiences.”
“MJ LIVE” performs nightly inside the Harrah’s Showroom, with performances running most evenings at 5:30 or 7 p.m. The show will be dark May 16 through 18. mjliveshow.com

When asked to share his craziest Las Vegas memory, Sixx replied with “I once went to bed before midnight”
leaning into “the family entertainment side of the business,” having just finished a children’s book with his wife, starting a toy line and writing songs for a new episodic kids show, the doting dad is excited about “The Las Vegas Residency.” When asked what’s kept him loyal to Mötley Crüe for more than 40 years, Sixx replied with the thing that’s kept fans interested as well: the music.
“What I hear from people all the time is that our lyrics connected with them one way or another,” the “Kickstart My Heart” songwriter said. “Some people say our music helped save their life, other people say it was the soundtrack to their youth and getting in trouble and having fun. Some of the greatest bands in the world have had band members leave and come back, but the one consistency is the quality of the songs. In the end, what we hope has kept us together is the thing that will outlive all of us the songs.” ticketmaster.com/ motleycruevegas

One of downtown Las Vegas’ most popular resorts recently increased its room inventory by 20 percent, meaning even more people can now stay and play at the luxurious property.
Last October, the adults-only Circa Resort & Casino debuted more than 100 new rooms and suites, each featuring sleek Art Deco artwork that celebrates downtown Las Vegas’ history and art scene. The rooms include 72 Single King rooms, 24 Double King rooms, four Panoramic Sunset Suites and four end-ofthe-hallway Single King Premium rooms that connect two additional rooms for a total of three king beds for guests to utilize.
While each room boasts gorgeous views of the city’s surrounding mountain ranges, Las Vegas Boulevard and/or Circa’s year-round pool amphitheater, Stadium Swim, Circa’s Panoramic Sunset Suites are
truly some of the most beautiful hotel rooms in town. Spanning 1,187 square feet, the suites feature breathtaking views of Las Vegas in three directions and a spacious living room area complete with its own wet bar, mini refrigerator, dining table, two TVs and a built-in Inovabed that can be pulled down from the wall to add an extra place to sleep. The bedroom, meanwhile, has its own king bed with a plush Serta Chateau mattress, a desk, a TV and an Alexaequipped Echo device.
Probably the best reason to stay at Circa, though, is the simple fact that guests are just steps away from the property’s worldclass amenities. A true playground for sports bettors, Circa is not only home to Stadium Swim — which features a 143-foot diagonal, 14-million-pixel screen playing the day’s top sporting events that guests can watch from six temperature-controlled pools and two spas — but also the three-story Circa sportsbook, which features a 78-million-pixel screen playing the latest games.
Circa is a favorite with foodies as well thanks to five delectable dining experiences located on property. In addition to the resort’s vintage steakhouse, Barry’s Downtown Prime, Circa has Pan-Asian restaurant 8 East, Victory Burger & Wings Co., Carolina barbecue food truck Project BBQ and Saginaw’s Delicatessen. While Saginaw’s
may be famous for its sandwiches, the deli also serves breakfast in the morning and a variety of comfort food classics for dinner. Must-try menu selections include Rosie’s Meatloaf, Nana’s Chicken Pot Pie and the egg roll-like Buffalo Chicken Cigarillos appetizer.
When it’s time for a nightcap, guests can check out Circa’s elegant rooftop lounge, Legacy Club, to soak up panoramic views of the downtown skyline from the resort’s 60th floor. The property also has an entrance/ exit right on Fremont Street Experience, so guests can spend the evening exploring everything the renowned pedestrian mall has to offer. circalasvegas.com
Whether you’re looking for some rest, some rejuvenation or a little bit of both this spring, Las Vegas’ many luxurious spas are sure to have something on the menu that will leave you looking and feeling your best. It’s easy to take the phrase “spa day” quite literally at Lapis Spa & Wellness inside Fontainebleau Las Vegas. One of the Strip’s newest spas, Lapis Spa & Wellness offers an array of amenities, including an expansive co-ed area that features daily multisensory Aufguss sauna experiences. For those looking to get rid of their dry winter skin before they hit the pool or get a spray tan, book the spa’s 90-minute Celestial Cocoon body treatment.

Awana Spa at Resorts World Las Vegas has an impressive co-ed area for guests to enjoy as well, complete with four vitality pools (cold, tepid, warm and hot) located in front of an LED screen that transports guests to various picturesque destinations. The spa also offers one of the best anti-aging facials in town, its 60-minute Signature Hydrafacial, which uses patented vortex fusion technology to help cleanse and exfoliate one’s skin and infuse it with super serums. To further give skin a youthful boost, the treatment incorporates several products from the ARCONA skincare line, including its nourishing Wine Hydrating Mask that replenishes dry, depleted skin. rwlasvegas.com

Pro Tip: Book the Lapis Spa & Wellness’ Celestial Cocoon body treatment and you get to keep the OSEA Plant-Based Body Brush used during the service, so you can continue to dry brush your skin at home.
Another amazing facial can be found at The Spa & Salon at Palms Casino Resort, which offers seasonal pool access with any service priced at $100 or more. Last fall, the refreshed spa began offering treatments featuring products from the science-based skincare line Epicutis, like the 50-minute Essential Radiance Facial. Great for all skin types, the simple yet effective facial not only combats moisture loss and decreases redness, but also features LED light therapy to stimulate collagen production. Chilled ice globes are used with Epicutis’ soothing Lipid Recovery Mask as well, leaving skin smoother and tighter. thespapalms.com
Finally, for those looking to alleviate some of the stress associated with tax season, both The Spa at Harrah’s and The Spa at The LINQ offer four massages — I am Air, I am Fire, I am Earth and I am Water — that correspond to one’s zodiac sign. Using body oils and fragrances from the clean skincare brand ZENTS, the Zodiac Collection massages incorporate aroma, light and sound therapy. Spring training games run through March 25
What you need to know before you go
By Teresa Bitler
Every spring, 15 Major League Baseball teams take the field in Cactus League play at stadiums throughout Phoenix, and Allegiant passengers can catch a game (or two) during their stay. Here’s what you need to know to make the most of game day.
Major League Baseball’s 30 teams prepare for their upcoming season by competing in either Florida’s Grapefruit League or Arizona’s Cactus League, held in the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Cactus League teams include the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers.
Additionally, the Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians,
Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, Lost Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners play in the Cactus League.
This year, spring training continues through March 25. Teams compete daily with umpires calling, “Play ball!” a few minutes after 1 p.m. for most games. Occasional night games start at either 6:05 or 6:40 p.m.
Generally, spring training lineups feature both seasoned players and new talent, but during Spring Breakout March 13 through 16, teams field top prospects from their farm team, giving fans a chance to see future
stars. Each Cactus League team will play one Spring Breakout game except the Chicago Cubs, which will play two.
Fans can purchase tickets for Cactus League games online at cactusleague.com, which will direct them to the game’s hosting stadium website, or mlb.com. Typically, tickets purchased online download digitally to the MLB app. Some stadium box offices also sell tickets.
Prices vary depending on the stadium and where you choose to sit. Lawn tickets usually cost $15 to $20 and entitle the holder to spread a blanket on the berm (grassy area) behind the outfield. In contrast, traditional infield seating ranges from an average $50 to $75 each. Admission to suites can cost $90 or more.
Since Valley Metro Rail doesn’t have stops near any of the stadiums, most fans drive themselves or use rideshare. If you drive, come early. Heavy traffic snarls the surrounding streets right before the game, and parking becomes more challenging.
Although many stadiums offer free parking in their lots, some charge, and of those that do, most accept only debit or credit cards, not cash. Fans may also be able to park on nearby streets for free. Consult the stadium’s FAQs before you leave home for more information on where to park, costs and parking lot shuttles.
Every stadium posts a list of prohibited items on its website, but in general, you can’t bring coolers, lawn chairs, air horns, alcohol, drugs or weapons to a spring training game. Pets are also prohibited unless they are certified service animals. While cameras are okay, stadiums prohibit tripods and drones.
Continued on next page
Bag policies differ from stadium to stadium. Although in most cases you can bring a small bag, generally 16 x 16 x 8 inches, some stadiums require the bag to be clear. Medical and diaper bags are an exception. Review the stadium’s list before leaving for the game to avoid admission delays.
Bring either a debit or credit card. Following the pandemic, most stadiums have switched to touchless transactions and no longer accept cash for any purchases, including parking. You’ll also want to bring sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat, even on an overcast day.
Water is a must, too. Most stadiums allow fans to bring one unopened bottle of water (one liter or smaller) per person. Optionally, you can bring binoculars, baseballs for autographs and a baseball glove for catching foul balls.
Because spring training is more casual and the stadium is smaller, fans have more opportunities to interact with their favorite players. Come early — gates usually open an hour and a half before game time — and come prepared with Sharpies and items for players to autograph.
Typically, available players will hang out near the foul ball territory on either side of the field before and after the game. Be considerate of their time and other fans, and don’t worry. If you don’t get the autograph you want, there’s always tomorrow. cactusleague.com

In Gilbert, the Riparian Preserve is a 110-acre wetland that serves as the best urban location for spotting herons, egrets, cormorants and other waterfowl. The preserve has seven
distinct ponds with trails weaving throughout the park and shaded ramadas that sit high above the terrain for even better views. On the third Saturday of every month, Desert Rivers Audubon offers free guided bird walks for guests of all ages. The walks, which start at 8 a.m. and run until noon, go over the latest sightings and explore hidden pockets for the best spotting. With more than 300 species tracked at this location, the avian diversity inside the Riparian Preserve has been recognized nationally by BirdLife International and the National Audubon Society. Sunrise and sunset are popular times to snap a photo of birds in flight gliding over the water. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the programming at the park including parent and tot bird talks. discovergilbert.com
The southeast Town of Queen Creek is also known for its bird watching community that flock to the Sonoqui Wash Trail. The 3.8 mile trail connects from Gilbert and is part of the regional trail system that spreads across Maricopa County. A yearlong bird count, in partnership with eBird.org, that was completed in 2020 documented 70 total species along the wash. Another area for spotting feathered friends is at San Tan Mountain Regional Park, which is vast at 10,000 acres. The dense saguaro forest is the perfect area to seek Arizona’s state bird, the cactus wren, and listen closely for the black and white striped Gila woodpecker, often found enjoying cactus fruit. queencreekaz.gov

When Angeleno Wine Company opened for business in 2018, it was the first winery in downtown Los Angeles since the days of Prohibition. It was also a big step in a liquid renaissance.
“Over 100 vineyards grew across Los Angeles back in the 1800s,” said owner and winemaker Jasper Dickson, “and downtown was the center of the industry for the state. The original Los Angeles County seal was actually a bunch of grapes — that’s how important it was. LA wine was famous across the country!”
That wine heritage was all but gone in the wake of vine disease, Prohibition and the city’s rapid development, but Dickson and his partner at AWC, Amy Luftig, are founding members of LAVA, the Los Angeles Vintners Association, a collective of young, experimental makers who are creating wines from vineyards of all sizes within the County and presenting an alternative to the morefamous regions farther north.
History resurrected by young winemakers
By James Bartlett
Luftig walks down the historical Mexicanthemed Olvera Street and notes that some grapes still grow downtown, “but you need to know where to look,” she said, pointing to a small number of wild vines spreading and twisting overhead.
The origins of California wine were in the Mission grape, which came with Spanish missionaries in the 16th century. Now some 275 years old, the “mother vine” at the San Gabriel Mission, east of downtown, still
produces fruit, and LAVA volunteers harvest it every year. The sweet, “Angelica” dessert wine, which is fortified with brandy, is then shared out among the members to sell.
Another of LAVA’s founders, Byron Blatty Wines, recently opened a tasting room in Highland Park, north east of downtown. There are even winemaker events in Moorpark, some 45 minutes west of LA, which is the home of new member Friendly Noise, and another founder, Patrick Kelley’s Cavaletti Vineyards.
LAVA welcomes small batch producers, and experimentation is encouraged, especially by Kelley, who is notably generous with his advice and facilities. “We’re all expanding the vineyards we are working with and planting new vineyards as often as we can. We also help preserve and restore lost or neglected
vineyards, some of which can be in plain sight.”
AWC rotates their stock regularly, sourcing Spanish varietals from small, family vineyards less than 50 miles away in Aqua Dulce and a little further out in the Antelope Valley. At the weekend tastings (Sat 12-8 p.m., Sun 12-6 p.m., reservations recommended) you might sample varietals including Tannat, Zinfandel, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet.
LAVA continues to grow, and the members agree that making the wine — the picking, crushing, tasting, labelling and so on — may be demanding, but when it is poured to someone who, notes Lutfig, “didn’t know what to expect, but then you see on their face that they love it,” it is another step toward the future of LA wine. angelenowine.com

Somewhere amongst the tree-lined streets and wooded trails of Portland, Oregon, a certain celebrity chef is coming up with new and delicious ideas to share with his community.
Gregory Gourdet has garnered international acclaim for his many TV appearances, but it’s Kann, his James Beard Award winning livefire restaurant that’s got Portland locals and tourists alike fawning over his flavors.
At Kann, Haitian inspiration meets fresh local produce to create a flavor profile as unique as its creator. Having honed his skills under the tutelage of renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, namesake restaurateur behind Jean-Georges restaurants across the globe, Chef Gregory has learned the ins and outs of fine cuisine and, taking a note from his mentor, infused the flavors and dishes of his heritage into the menu.
The Haitian cuisine at Kann utilizes ingredients like chilis, coconut, plantains and aromatics not typically seen in the standard Portland culinary palette. Vanilla, clove, cinnamon and allspice mix with Haitian staples like scotch bonnet chilis, combining
into soulful savory dishes like the Smoked Sausage and Shrimp Gumbo, or the Coffee Rubbed Flat Iron Steak that rounded out the entree selection on the fall menu.
Because the ingredients utilize local produce, the menu at Kann changes with the seasons. As a member of the US State Department’s American Culinary Corp, Chef Gregory is dedicated to making the restaurant industry more sustainable and equitable, a commitment you can see reflected in his work.
Gourdet’s commitment to inclusivity extends to his new restaurant and bar Sousòl. Haitian for basement, Sousòl casts its net a bit wider than Haiti for inspiration, drawing from the greater Pan-Caribbean palette to craft cocktails like the Tamaren Tounen, with both tequila and mezcal mixed with tamarind, jerk and lime. From the alcohol to the mixers, each ingredient is carefully chosen to give off a flavor profile endemic to its inspiration.
Sousòl also has a menu of delicious zeroalcohol options for those who don’t indulge in alcoholic beverages. Though absent of spirits, the drinks are still made with the same commitment to creating elevated cocktails that celebrate the flavors of the Caribbean. It’s one of the many reasons why Esquire named Sousòl one of “The Best Bars in America”.
Those same flavors that put Kann and Sousòl on the map can be explored in your own kitchen thanks to Gourdet’s James Beard award winning cookbook, “Everyone’s Table: Global Recipes for Modern Health.” The book features recipes that explore dynamic, umami-packed flavors, focusing primarily on vegetable-forward entrees and savory stews. Drawing on his years of
experience with French, Haitian and Asian cuisine, Gourdet gives readers plenty of clever ways to utilize seasonal ingredients to create something exquisite.
Never one to sit still for too long, Gourdet already has another cookbook coming out this year. Somehow, with two restaurants, and now two books under his belt, the

meetings, where platonic pals can partake in an evening of delicious food and drink, splitting an aged beef steak and toasting over a glass of premium whiskey.
For a more relaxed cocktail establishment, there’s nowhere better than Brick & Daisy inside Harbor Yards Food Hall. The communal atmosphere of the food hall is relaxed and fun, and the drinks are positively delicious. It’s a great spot for friends to meet up, grab their favorite food and enjoy themselves without breaking the bank.
In the evenings, live music soars through the sea air, emanating from the stage at Half Cracked Tiki Shack. With a gorgeous waterfront location, it is the perfect backdrop for an exciting night out. Every month, Level Blue hosts even more live entertainment on the rooftop for Cocktails & Constellations, a celebration under the stars to ring in the next zodiac sign.
With so many amenities, it’s easy to spend a whole vacation inside Sunseeker Resort. But adventure still abounds outside in Charlotte Harbor. The resort encourages guests to explore the area with their fleet of e-bikes
and traditional cruisers available to rent.
Sunseeker even provides groups and individuals the opportunity to tour Peace River on a serene kayaking journey. After renting a single or double rider kayak, paddlers are free to explore by themselves, or on a guided tour with up to 11 other people.
A trip on the water can always be combined with an evening of revelry aboard “The Oasis” Tiki Tour. The BYOB cruise has a bumping sound system, full service restroom, LED lights and an elevated bar that can service up to 30 guests, perfect for a bachelorette party or birthday celebration.
There’s also no shortage of fishing charters ready to take eager anglers out on the water. Spring marks the beginning of Tarpon Season in Charlotte Harbor, which means charter companies are more than available to take groups of all sizes out to wrangle the shimmering silver game fish. Visit Sunseeker Resort’s website to find out how to book a tour, where everything from the fishing license to the equipment is ready and waiting to cast a line. sunseekerresorts.com

Centrally located and just a short drive from three Allegiant nonstop Florida destinations.
Customer safety is Allegiant®’s first concern. Please be advised that interference with the duties of crew members, including flight attendants, is a violation of federal laws. Our crews are thoroughly trained in all safety procedures. To ensure your own safety, we hope you take a moment to review the safety information card located in the seat pocket in front of you. Be aware of the following:
• Location of the nearest emergency exit
• Location of your emergency oxygen mask, if needed
• Correct procedure for exiting the cabin in an emergency
Seat belts must be fastened ANY TIME the seat belt sign is on, during taxi, takeoff and landing. Once the seat belt sign is turned off, you may walk around the cabin. Due to unexpected turbulence, it is strongly recommended that you keep your seat belt fastened any time while in your seat. Allegiant’s exit seating policy does not allow the use of seat belt extensions in the exit seats due to tripping hazards.
Federal Aviation Administration requires that all child restraint seats used on planes meet federal safety standards. Acceptable seats bear proper labeling “THIS RESTRAINT IS CERTIFIED FOR USE IN MOTOR VEHICLES AND AIRCRAFT" from the manufacturer. Unlabeled seats or seats manufactured before Jan. 1, 1981, are not acceptable. Child restraint seats are to be placed into a window seat and secured with an aircraft seat belt.
The use of small cameras or mobile devices for photography and video is permitted onboard provided you keep the purpose of your photography and video to capturing personal events. Photographing or recording other customers or airline personnel without their express consent is prohibited. Airline personnel reserve the right to prohibit photos and videos onboard the aircraft if it becomes a disturbance to them or other passengers.
Allegiant is forbidden to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone who appears to be intoxicated or who has not yet reached the age of 21. It is a violation of federal regulations to drink alcoholic beverages during a flight unless they have been served by Allegiant personnel.
Smoking, the use of other tobacco products, e-cigarettes and other similar smoking devices are not permitted on any Allegiant flight. Federal law imposes fines of $1,000 for smoking and up to $2,000 for any attempt to disable an aircraft smoke detector.

Making your journey as seamless as possible is at the core of what our inflight crew members do every single day. Allegiant flight attendants go above and beyond to ensure every passenger has a comfortable travel experience. Sometimes it’s calming nervous flyers, soothing a baby, or providing extra care to families traveling to deal with a hardship.
Flight attendant Rabena Spade remembers one occasion when she met a mother traveling with three little girls. While in the air, the girls were doing their homework and shared that their father is a pilot for another airline.
“Oh my gosh, you guys have great snacks,” said one of the girls to Spade as they bonded throughout the flight. After landing, the kids handed her a colorful drawing, thanking the crew for an unforgettable flight:
“Dear cabin crew and pilots of flight 1994, we enjoyed our first Allegiant flight. This was the

most enjoyable flight we have had for a long time. You made the skies friendly and made us feel like princesses! You’re the friendliest crew we’ve met!!! Thank you for all of the treats and sugar to keep us motivated to do school.”
“When I said goodbye to the girls, their mom embraced me, saying, ‘You have no idea what impact you had on my life. You set us up with so much positivity to overcome this challenge we’re heading into,’” recalled Spade.
The family wasn’t flying for vacation; they were on their way to visit a family member who had fallen ill.
Spade says this experience reminded her of the importance of treating everyone with kindness, because you never know what challenges they may be up against.
“To make that connection in that little amount of time is a memory those little girls will always remember on Allegiant,” added Spade.

At Allegiant, connecting people to the places and moments that matter most is at the heart of what we do. For our customers, this means affordable, nonstop travel to unforgettable destinations. For our Team Members, it often means so much more.
Meet Captain Leo Bell and First Officer Valerie Bell — a father-daughter pilot duo whose story embodies Allegiant’s mission to bring people closer together.
Leo joined Allegiant in 2011, transitioning from another airline in pursuit of a more balanced and family-oriented lifestyle. Unlike most airline schedules that keep crews away from home for extended periods, Allegiant’s innovative business model allows the majority of our Team Members to return home each night. For Captain Leo, this meant being present for nightly family dinners and creating cherished memories with his loved ones.
Leo’s decision to prioritize family left a lasting impression on his daughter, Valerie. Watching her dad blend his love for aviation with a familycentered life ignited a passion for flying in her. As a child, she dreamed of one day joining Allegiant’s pilot ranks — and flying alongside her father.
That dream became a reality when Valerie was accepted into Allegiant’s training program. Under her father’s mentorship (including serving as one of her flight instructors), Valerie honed her skills and joined her dad in the skies as an Allegiant pilot in 2024.
“It’s an incredible experience to share the flight deck with my dad,” Valerie says. “Flying together feels like a full-circle moment for both of us, and we’re grateful Allegiant made it possible.”
As Leo nears retirement, watching Valerie soar — both figuratively and literally — has become one of his proudest accomplishments. From her first solo flight to now co-piloting with him, their journey is a testament to the deep connections Allegiant fosters.
Thank you, Captain Leo and First Officer Valerie, for exemplifying what it means to live the Allegiant mission. Together We Fly!
Two passengers find their happily ever after aboard an Allegiant flight

Allegiant is known for its nonstop flights that help keep families and friends connected even when they are far apart, but sometimes the airline connects people in unexpected ways, too.
While flying from Florida to Wisconsin for her sister’s wedding in 2018, Taylor Sporer made a love connection of her own when the person seated next to her, Mike Bergelin, struck up a conversation.
“Normally, I’m the type of traveler who keeps to myself watching Netflix, but something about Mike’s friendly demeanor made me want to chat,” Sporer recalled. “I always joke that he could talk for hours with literally anyone, but luckily for me, that day it was me!”
Although the two eventually went their separate ways once they left baggage claim, Bergelin briefly reconnected with Sporer on Instagram. She tried setting him up with one of her friends, but it wasn’t until five years later, when a now single Sporer reached out to Bergelin again over social media, that she found out he was interested in her.
“My previous relationship took a toll on me and made me rethink what I really wanted in a partner. For some reason, Mike came to my mind after all these years,” Sporer stated. “Something about our conversation just stuck with me, along with our shared
interests and views on life just from those short interactions. So, I reached out to him, and it turned out he was also recently out of a relationship. The timing this time around was just perfect!”
Now, Sporer and Bergelin are preparing for a June “brunch wedding” after a year and a half of dating.
“Our story proves that fate has a funny way of bringing people together when you least expect it,” Sporer said. “So, talk to that stranger on the airplane — it’s worth it!”
