Welcome to

On behalf of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ), it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 48th annual NORTHEAST 2025 Automotive Services Trade Show!

We have been working hard all year long to create a successful event to truly support the collision and mechanical repair industry at-large. As I’m sure you will see this weekend, at NORTHEAST, there is truly something for everyone

This year’s show is loaded with a variety of discussions on automotive repair topics affecting your day-to-day, from our FULL DAY Friday “CCC Boot Camp” co-presented by Collision Advice and CCC Intelligent Solutions to over a dozen seminars covering every topic from ADAS to leadership, succession to the SCRS blend study, and everything in-betwee, it’s nearly impossible to leave NORTHEAST Sunday afternoon without something you can implement in your business Monday morning.

While we’ve become known for our packed class schedule, there’s even more to do while you’re at NORTHEAST. There’s plenty to do on the show floor, from our third annual Bodywork Bowl, the chance at $5,000 in prizes through our NORTHEAST Dollars giveaways, and the Annual Young Technician Awards, presented by AASP/NJ with generous support from Spark Underwriters and World Insurance, where two deserving young techs or students will be acknowledged for their drive and passion in this industry.

And none of this would be possible were it not for the hundreds of supporting companies whose booths fill our show floor with the tools, products, support and services to make you a better repairer. I am personally grateful to each of our 100-plus vendors and sponsors. Without them, NORTHEAST would have never made it to our 48th annual event, or grown to become the second-largest event of its kind in the country.

As you walk the floor, come meet AASP/NJ at Booth 001 - at the front of the show - and learn how we are working every day to improve conditions for our members through valuable benefits, advocacy and a voice for you and your interests. I urge you to learn what AASP/NJ is all about, and join us in making our industry what it’s meant to be.

I hope you find everything you are looking for at NORTHEAST 2025, and more. And if you find me, please say hello! I can’t wait to meet you.

In the meantime, let’s get on with the show!

Attendees will gain insights into evaluating and implementing the right tools for their shop, with a focus on balancing cost, training, and long-term ROI. 5:30pm - Seminar Room B

Navigating the Collision Industry Today: Insights from SCRS Executive Director Aaron Schulenburg

In 2022 the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) released the results of a “blend study” conducted in coordination with AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes, Axalta Coating Systems, BASF Automotive Refinish, PPG Industries, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes and audited by DEKRA. The study compared the difference between the time necessary to perform full refinish on the exterior of a new and undamaged panel to the time needed to blend the same panel. You’ve hopefully familiarized yourself with the results which concluded blending took more time on average than full refinish. In this session, learn how the study conclusions made way for information providers to conduct their own research, the resulting outcomes and changes to their systems, and how the response and documentation from the IPs can provide opportunities to document variations in the refinish process.

Schulenburg will also discuss other association areas of interest and activity such as realities of “Right to Repair” conversations, plus benefits, resources and ways in which independent repair businesses are represented to serve their teams and their customers well.

7:30pm - Seminar Room A

How to Create and Achieve Your Post Shop Life

The Importance of Wheel Alignment in ADAS Recalibration for Collision Centers

Chris Sobieski (Snap-on Equipment)

ADAS on today’s vehicle is becoming more complex. With more vehicles having the ability to intervene or control the direction of the vehicle proper alignment of the chassis, wheels and ADAS sensors have never been more important.

ABD’s 55-year history began in 1970, when nine body shop owners joined forces in an effort to create strength in numbers and thus improve their collective purchasing power. GENUINE LAND ROVER

that workshops have the best collision repair solutions on the market.

Many things have changed since then. Today, aluminum and EV has replaced uni-body as the newest concern in collision repair, and the company now operates out of a 9,200-square-foot facility in Mahwah, NJ - double the size of its previous location and boasting a larger warehouse, training facility and office space.

With its size, the company’s current facility lends itself to the hybrid boardroom and classroom dynamic that Car-O-Liner provides in its training.

“It was important to find a location that could accommodate larger training classes,” says company owner and president Dave Demarest, Jr. “As it is, our industry is plagued by improper repairs. We’re trying to rectify that gap before it gets any worse.” He lauds the individuals who are willing to stand at the front lines of their industry and learn.

When it comes to improving the collision repair process, Metropolitan Car-o-liner doesn’t solely provide shops with the right tools and equipment; the company also helps to improve knowledge through training. Since 2003, Metropolitan Car-o-liner has been an I-CAR Gold Class business, training volunteer and hands-on training site. Just four years later, it was recognized for training over 3,000 technicians, appraisers, and adjusters.

“The industry is changing, and it’s great to see technicians who are willing to grow with it. This is your livelihood. It’s important to stay educated on the trends occurring in your line of business.”

“Shop owners need to keep abreast of changes in vehicle construction and reconstruction,” adds Dave Jr. “They are going to see increased use of aluminum, higher strength steels and alternative materials.”

The Car-O-Liner brand is OEM-approved by virtually all vehicle makers,

including Rivain, Lucid, Tesla Audi, BMW, Ford, General Motors, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo - and it’s no secret why the Car-O-Liner brand is so widely respected across the industry.

“We’re proud that Car-O-Liner has the OEM equipment approvals of almost every manufacturer, including those with certified structural aluminum programs,” Dave Jr. explains. “With aluminum or EV vehicles like the full line of Tesla, Rivian, Lucid and Ford’s F-150 aluminum body pickup, having the right equipment, measuring data and training to handle repairs is critical.”

Considering Metropolitan Car-o-liner’s dedication to improving the industry, it’s no surprise that it’s been an active participant in the NORTHEAST Automotive Services Show since the event’s first year. Metropolitan Car-o-liner invites attendees to visit Booths 117 and 217 to view live welding demos and test-drive the latest equipment.
