Portway Family Hub
Take a look at just some of the support offered by our Family Hub.
Portway provides regular family wellbeing sessions run by our Wellbeing Practitioner, Aisha and our Family Support Worker, Louise.
Sessions encourage family members to reflect on the importance of looking after their own wellbeing through activities such as a natural spa day, wellbeing box creation and aromatherapy sessions. Everyone is welcome so come along and join us to take some time for you!
As part of our commitment to becoming more sustainable and to supporting our families, Portway has joined forces with The Felix Project.
The Felix Project is a charity that donates good food for good causes. Once a week they collect fresh nutritious food and deliver it to Portway. As a result of this partnership, Portway would like to use the surplus food delivered to support our Portway families during this cost of living crisis. This enables us to provide healthy produce to you, our families.
Once a week, Portway’s Felix Project Market Stall is located in the school playground from 3pm where you can see what is available.
At Portway we work with Place2Be, a leading children’s mental health charity. Not only do they provide a self-referral and staff referral offer for one off support, 1:1 counselling programmes and group therapy for pupils, they also provide support for families too.
Parenting Smart is an online parenting course which is free for all families. Parents can complete this independently or through guided support from the school.
Our Place2Be Practitioners are also available for other forms of support for families such as Parent Partnership Meetings and the Personalised Individual Parenting Training Programme .
